"I was only on this birth control pill for a month but would not recommend this pill to anyone. A few days into the placebo pill week I began to experience severe anxiety OCD, and depression, with no history of any mental illness before starting this pill. It became hard to want to get out of bed in the morning, I no longer had the desire to see my boyfriend or any of my friends. I stopped taking this pill and slowly started to feel like myself again but would not recommend that anyone take this pill."

"I have been on several different forms of the pill for the last 5 years. I have been on this one for the past 6 months and it is hands down, the worst one to date. It gave me mood swings, no sex drive at all, horrible migraines, nausea, bloating, anxiety, and depression. I stopped taking it completely 2 weeks ago and have already noticed a huge difference. Yes this pill is great at preventing pregnancy but that's about it and the side effects are not worth it. Please do not take this pill."

"Blisovi Fe 1/20 has worked as a birth control method. However, I've experienced mood swings which are very unusual for me. Before the pill I had irregular periods and at first the periods became more timely and lately I have missed my period for the last 4 months and I am not pregnant (I've checked). I've not noticed any change with my weight, face skin, or sex drive."

"I have been on Blisovi Fe 1/20 for about 2 months. I take birth control because my period is very long, heavy, painful, etc. I was on Lolestrin Fe before taking this and it was actually working but I still wanted a shorter period. Unfortunately in the first month on Blisovi Fe my period lasted about 11 days and less then a week later it started again. It also made me extremely anxious and depressed, to the point of panic attacks almost every week, which is not normal for me. I’ve lost a few pounds while on Blisovi but am constantly bloated since I started taking it. I also started noticing an increase in sinus and respiratory problems which could also be related to this medication. Overall I do not recommend this product."

"I was prescribed this medication to help control heavy periods and acne. Since taking this pill for over 6 months I haven’t had a real period since the first month of taking it. Sometimes I do still get very emotional during the “sugar pill” week and I find I feel better if I skip the sugar pills and just keep taking the real thing, which doesn’t hurt to do as long as you don’t do it every single month, as I understand at least. I only had my period for about a day or two one time about 2 or 3 months in. Since then I don’t even get spotting. I haven’t noticed any mood changes or depression that I didn’t have before taking this medication and it hasn’t worsened my existing depression and anxiety. I have gained weight since using this pill but I think that’s my own fault and not the pills. I do feel more bloated often though, which still isn’t that big of a deal."

"I was put on the pill for heavy periods which caused 5 iron infusions. First, I was on Lo Loestrin which caused very clear skin and 2 day light periods and was great at first, however after a few months I had breakthrough bleeding and anger. The doctor had to make the dosage higher so I switched to Blisovi which is 100 times WORSE! The first week I was crying every day having panic attacks and at first had a 12 day period. The period eventually regulated and lightened but I was told to push through another month to adjust with the emotions. I am still anxious, depressed, on edge, angry, mood swings, and no sex drive at all. I have no desire to look at a man. I am stopping this pill! The only pros to this pill was that I did not gain weight from it. I really hope I find a pill that works for me soon."

"Because of the timing of starting this birth control and everything going on in my life, it took me a while to catch on to the side effects of this pill. While on it, I was way more anxious and depressed than I’ve felt in a long time. The week before my period, I’ve never really been the super emotional type, but on this pill, I was unrecognizable. I was extremely depressed and emotional, blew up fights with my boyfriend, and just generally acting crazy. Looking back at how I acted it’s like I’m not even looking at myself. When I finally thought back to when that started, I realized it was when I started this pill. While the pill didn’t cause any weight gain or other negative side effects for me, my mental state was in a very dark place on these. Because I was on it so long, I can say that these side effects don’t eventually go away, they just get worse. With all the other options out there, I could not recommend this pill."

"I had been switched over to this BC was previously on Kelnor. I’ve tried many in my day but this one really threw me for a loop. It took me almost 10 months to realize my crippling mood swings and severe depression / PMS were from my pill. I would wake up with immediate thoughts of complete dread and anxiety. Severe rage and anger seemingly out of nowhere followed by bouts of sadness. No energy. No motivation. Missed periods. It was truly a nightmare. I finally got switched over to something else about a month ago and have never felt better."

"DO NOT TAKE BLISOVI!!! My pharmacy switched me over from Microgestin Fe to Blisovi Fe due to insurance reasons. I had no bad symptoms on Microgestin bedsides gaining a few pounds which is fine because I am very thin. But anyway since taking Blisovi I have had horrible anxiety, am exhausted all the time even though I sleep enough, NO libido, blurry vision, always feel like I am in a fog, and horrible migraines. It did work effectively as a birth control but that is mainly due to the fact that it caused me to have ZERO desire for sex. It was horrible. On top of the anxiety and constant state of EXHAUSTION. I’m telling you I felt like I never got any sleep when I was sleeping 8-10 hours a night. But luckily my new insurance covers Microgestin so I am switching back ASAP!!"

"I honestly would not recommend this BC. I decided after 2 years without BC I would get back on to see if it helped my skin. My skin had the usual break out from periods and from stress but was always tolerable and never really bothered me. I used to take Tarina FE which, and when I went for my doctors visit she prescribed me this one which I was okay with starting, Blisovi FE. I began taking the BC and I started breaking out HORRIBLY. I thought it was just something that my body had to adjust but after the first month it started to feel like every time I took the pill a pimple would form. Cystic pimples. I’ve never been so depressed in my life. I seriously wish I never started this, there isn’t a day I don’t cry. Do not recommend."

"This birth control gave me extreme depression and anxiety around and during my period. Non stop crying for days. I already have depression and anxiety but it made it worse. There was nothing else that could explain it. I started taking it and about month 3 I quit no way am I ever taking it again. The good experience I had was I didn’t gain any weight in fact my appetite decreased but I associate that with depression. May not be bad for everyone but for me it was the worst birth control pill I’ve been on"

"My doctor prescribed this Blisovi Fe 1/20 BC pill because I have secondary amenorrhea. I had a huge concern on the side effects when using the pill, other than the common mood swings, nauseas, etc (regular side effects), I was ‘eh’ about that. So.. The first 2 weeks was pretty normal, up until the first day of the 3rd week, I woke up during midnight I felt like I was dying because I never had a terrifying pelvic pain along with internal bleeding (I have amenorrhea so I hadn’t had regular periods in months. This didn’t go away til a WHOLE day has passed, I also had a loss of appetite because of this pill, couldn’t eat regular (healthy) food right to relief the nausea a bit for 2 1/2 days. I couldn’t continue taking this pill because of that. So to sum it up, it DOES have it’s risks.. I fear to continue taking this BC pill so I had to stop.. (in my opinion) this pill isn’t the ‘safest’... so I’d think twice before taking this."

"Birth control obviously affects every woman differently. But in my experience, it was not good. My sex drive decreased the moment I started taking this birth control. I started to gain weight and I hated it. My diet didn’t change, neither did my exercise. So I was unsure as to why I had gained 20 pounds. But it all leads back to this birth control. As said, it will obviously affect everyone differently but for this birth control, these effects seem to be the trend. Just be aware before you start taking it."

"I used to take Lo Loestrin Fe 1/20 for like 6 years, then saw a new gynecologist who likely wrote down my prescription wrong and I ended up getting Blisovi 1/20. I’ve been taking it for the last 10 months and have had a generally negative experience. Pros: seems to have cleared up moderate acne, especially on my chest. Cons: cramps and heavy period for the first few months. Extremely low to nonexistent sex drive. Gained about 12lbs in the first two months with no lifestyle/diet change and now I can’t lose any weight, even after healthy eating at a caloric deficit and working out 5+ days a week for several months. Also have Mood swings. Overall, this is just an okay birth control. I’m trying to change back to Lo Loestrin but I’m worried about my acne coming back! The weight gain and low sex drive on Blisovi is a huge negative though."

"I was previously taking Lo Loestrin but insurance will now only cover Blisovi Fe. I always kind of struggled with birth controls altering my mental health but I honestly believe this one is by far the worst for me. I have missed a lot of periods on this pill which I am getting concerned with. I was taking Blisovi then at the end of the pills I noticed I had one last Lo Loestrin and took that. I just switched back to Blisovi and I have been an absolute disaster. I am anxious constantly and it is beginning to effect my relationship. I don't feel like myself and it is frustrating because I know I wasn't like this before. Started talking to a therapist because of it but I truly think it is the medication, or at least it takes my anxiety to this upsetting level. Need to switch to something else but I am not sure what is next."

"I was taking Lo Loestrin for 3 years before starting Blisovi (had to stop because my insurance no longer covered it Lo Loestrin) and let me just say it was the worst month of my life. I already suffer from anxiety and depression but this made me so much worse, the most depressed I’ve been in about two years. The whole month was a fog filled with anger, huge mood swings, acne like no other, and being able to cry over literally anything. I’m not an angry person and I don’t get mad but every little thing would really annoy me or make me cry uncontrollably. I was so weak I wouldn’t get out of bed, and had insomnia. I got off it and am trying a different pill now so let’s hope that works."

"I had been taken Microgestin for 2 years lost my insurance and had to take a break from my birth control. Finally got my insurance about 6 month break. I went to see my doctor and she gave me Lo Loestrin I took that for 3 months but got no periods and no side effects. I wanted at least a light period to know I’m not pregnant. I was then given this Blisovi. First week was bad with nausea and headaches. It was horrible but the third week it got extremely bad. I started to get vertigo and it absolutely wrecked my month. I went to a concert had one drink and almost fainted. I’ve taken 1/20 before but something about this BC is not working. Good luck ladies hope this helps."

"Was on NuvaRing for years until my moodiness on NuvaRing became an issue in my relationship. I switched to Microgestin but after a month on Microgestin, the pharmacy said they couldn't fill it anymore and gave me Blivosi. The next three packs were a disaster. My weight increased, my anxiety increased and I was fatigued all the time. I was sleeping 10+ hrs and still waking up exhausted. Periods were pretty normal but the biggest issue was HAIR LOSS. About 3 months in, I noticed that my hair was falling out in clumps. I would confirm prior to taking to Blivosi that you're not susceptible to androgenic hair loss. Clearly I am and now I have my wedding in three months and will have half the hair I should have. I reported my symptoms as well."

"I was previously on gildess fe 1/20, I was told it was no longer available so the pharmacy switched me to Blisovi fe 1/20. I've been on it for about three months and I have gained about 20 pounds. I'm almost always moody, and bloated. Before taking this medication I weighed about 136, I now weigh 160lbs. My doctor tried to tell me that there's no possible way its because of the birth control, but I know for a fact that it is."

"Please, please, please, avoid this pill. I was given this pill around the age of 34 because my periods became very irregular and heavy. I took this pill for 3 months and I gained 30 lbs. I just started feeling heavier and heavier. I stopped after 3 months of taking it and I started having chest pains and losing my breath frequently. I now have hypertension that I can't get rid of even after losing the weight I gained. I'm not a fit fanatic but I do eat well and exercise some. I'm now on 60 mg daily of blood pressure medicine and I blame this pill! This pill forever altered my life and I can't wait for a class action lawsuit to follow for poisoning us!"

"I'm taking blisovi for a while now but I've noticed it causes my panicking to spike up to the point where ive been waking up every day at 4 am and puking and diarrhea for hours It is debilitating and causing me to miss out on my life. It gave me acne, I have to hold back tears and rage fits constantly and I'm becoming so mad. I was on prozac with it for a while but I thought thats what was making me puke so I stopped taking it and its still happening. Also I have constant like weird taste in my mouth almost like I'm hungry all the time and it bothers me because I'm unable to eat anything due to the constant panicking I'm getting. The only thing blisovi does is keep you from getting pregnant if you even dare to try not feeling rubbish enough to have sex."

"In a sea of horrible reviews I felt like I should share my extremely positive experience. I was on a birth control pill before blisovi and had an absolutely awful experience. Insane mood swings and the like. However, on blisovi, I feel like myself again. I never have any PMS, didn’t gain any weight, no pimples. I do feel like I’m a bit more emotionally sensitive than how I am without the pill, but I’ll take being weepy over people withholding information because they’re afraid of how I’ll react. The only change I’ve really seen is my booty got considerably bigger and I am definitely not complaining about that."

"HORRIBLE! Within a couple of days of taking this medication I started feeling irritable, anxious, nervous, sad, just extremely overwhelmed with emotions. I had horrible headaches, pelvic pain and chest pain you name it! I had a low sex drive which was very unusual but also made me have bad vaginal dryness. I stopped taking it halfway into my second week and right away I felt like myself again. This pill was really mucking me up in every way possible. My poor boyfriend must have hated me during this time, I nearly drove him crazy too lol."

"They switched the Blisovi Fe birth control I was taking to this, so I started taking this birth control about a month ago or so and it’s terrible. It doesn’t help my cramps whatsoever and I’ve been on my period for 12 days so far and doesn’t seem like it’ll be stopping anytime soon. It started off veryyy light then all of a sudden BAM! I had to change my tampon every 40 minutes basically. This has been a very bad experience for me. It seems like I’m taking these pills everyday for no reason. Just to bleed more. It’ll be different for everyone, but this was my terrible experience."
