For Birth Control "The Pill Club prescribed me Vienva, and I have been on it for a month now. When I read these reviews last month, I was honestly terrified and scared to try it because so many people had awful side effects. But let me tell you, you should give this a chance. You might react completely differently than other people on this. I have had minimal side effects, just a slight increase in acne, and I’ve gained maybe a couple of pounds. Other than that, I feel completely normal on this! Don’t be terrified by these reviews, you’ll be okay. I’ll come back and update in a few months if I’ve started experiencing any side effects."

For Birth Control "I've taken Aviane for the past 5 years (I recently switched to using Pill Club and they don't offer that brand), and Vienva is the equivalent, so I gave it a try. I love it. No side effects at all. No mood swings, weight gain, or breakouts. I 100% recommend it."

For Birth Control "I have been on several pill birth controls and recently after my third child, I had the IUD inserted. I hated it and got it removed and was switched to Vienva. I was horrified to see all the bad comments, but pleasantly surprised I am on my fourth week and feel better than ever! No more mood swings, cystic acne, painful sex, weight gain I had with the IUD. For Birth Control "I initially loved this birth control, Vienva. My skin has been clear, no mood swings, and my sex drive was finally back up after getting off my last pill. Unfortunately, my bloating and weight gain have been so excessive that I’ve taken several pregnancy tests just to make sure. I have been dieting and exercising 5 times a week for 3 months with ZERO weight loss! It is just so annoying, considering every other aspect of this pill has been beneficial."

For Birth Control "Started this pill at the end of 2020, so it’s been about 4 months. I don’t really notice any side effects of it. Before I started it, I used to have bad depressive episodes, and I still do, but somehow I think it lessens once I took it. Period cramps used to be really painful for me before, but now it’s pretty much nonexistent. The first month or so was me adjusting, so I still felt some cramps, not anymore. My flow is also much lighter and lasts for a less amount of days. It used to last 7 days, now it’s about 3-4 days. I also don’t notice weight gain or more acne breakouts that are abnormal. I’m glad it works out for me. Remember it’s different for everyone."

For Birth Control "This pill hasn’t given me any bad side effects besides weight gain and a lot of bloating. It made me gain 6+ pounds (probably from water retention) after the first month of taking it. I’ve generally never had a problem with losing weight, but this is the least confident in my body that I’ve ever felt. I never had issues with weight gain when I had the IUD. Will be asking my doctor to change my prescription. However, different birth control works individually and affects every body differently, so take this review with a grain of salt! Just sharing my personal experience with it."

For Birth Control "I am 19 years old, and this is my first time using birth control. I was nervous because some friends of mine have had horror stories about birth control, but I guess I got extremely lucky because this has worked perfectly for me. No terrible mood swings, my periods have been regular, my skin is clear, normal blood pressure, no crazy weight gain, and I have not gotten pregnant, yes! (I have been taking this pill for around 9 months now.)"

For Birth Control "I started Vienva birth control about 6 months ago due to a job change causing my insurance to switch me from Lessina to Vienva. I always look through this website for birth control reviews, and I have to say I was absolutely terrified that I had switched to Vienva. I completely understand that we all have different experiences, but I would like to share that I had absolutely no side effects with this medication. No acne, no weight gain - in fact, I’ve lost 10 pounds from exercise and eating better and do not feel this birth control has interfered with my weight loss, no mood swings, no change in sex drive, and most of all, not pregnant. My periods average 4-5 days, but I usually skip the placebo pills, starting the new pack right away. Give it a try and keep in mind everyone reacts differently."

For Birth Control "I have been through the nightmare that is birth control for the last 2 years. I have tried 6 different BCs and had horrible side effects from all of them, including bipolar depression, mood swings, weight gain, hair loss, loss of sex drive, and horrible cramping. I was put on VIENVA 3 months ago and was nervous because of negative reviews. All was going well, my sex drive was back up (I’m 26 and in a happy, loving, long-term relationship!), but I ended my period a week ago, and 3 days ago, I started having some slight spotting. On the 2nd day, I started bleeding HEAVILY, and here we are on the 3rd, and I am still bleeding! I have never in my life had breakthrough bleeding, but this is like I’m having a 2nd period! Horrible cramps, full-on 2nd period of the month! I will be switching. Again, everything else was amazing about this pill. It made me feel normal again, high sex drive, no side effects, until this third month when I’ve been excessively bleeding even after my period."

For Birth Control "Honestly, I was in tears once I was prescribed this and then looked at the reviews. I haven’t had any weight gain, I have clearer skin, and I don’t have any issues with mood. Perhaps maybe in the first month I was a little moody and sensitive, but after having my first period, everything was fine. I honestly feel normal and am writing this for anyone who was like me and freaking out when reading these. You’ll never know until you try, but I was previously taking Lutera with Nurx and switched to this as it was cheaper with The Pill Club."

For Birth Control "I took Lutera for years without an issue, and when I wanted to restart it, I was told it’s now called Vienva. Within a month, I had a stubborn yeast infection, nausea, weight gain, constipation, acne, and generally felt crabby. Whatever is in this new formulation did not agree with my body. I will not continue this brand!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on the birth control Vienva for about 4 months now. Before I started, I weighed 135 pounds constantly for the past 2 years. After I started, I began to gain weight. For Birth Control "This garbage has completely destroyed my system. PLEASE seek a replacement if you start feeling off! This garbage has changed who I am mentally and physically. For Birth Control "This birth control pill ruined my life. I was taking Alesse then was prescribed Vienva once I moved countries and being told it’s the US “equivalent” to Alesse. I had no problems with Alesse besides minor mood shifts and a total weight gain of 1-2 lbs, which is fine, and I was able to sustainably use Alesse for years. Comparing that to being on Vienva for 3 months was a completely different story... I gained 15-17 lbs within a little over a month, and I am a petite 125 lb woman. In addition, I lost all my sexual libido, was irritable and depressed, had massive mood swings constantly, and I lost interest in the gym, work, and all general home personal life. My self-confidence had been shattered. I have since refused to take any more pills or refills of my prescription for Vienva and will never endorse that brand. It has been 9 months since I have been off the medication, and I am still struggling to lose all the weight I have gained from this dreaded pill."

For Birth Control "Let's start off by saying this has prevented pregnancy. BUT, my anxiety, depression, acne, and weight gain have skyrocketed. Every time I think my acne is gone, it comes right back, and I'm 21 years old. I get anxiety just by eating in front of someone because I overthink how I'm eating. I've gained almost 15 pounds just from being on this (NONE of it being in my blogs). I have also noticed a plummeted sex drive and less 'lubrication' than before. My motivation to do things I used to love doing all the time now only comes in waves. I've also experienced random breakthrough bleeding, which freaked me out. UUGGHHH I have to take 5 more months of this rubbish before I switch to Ortho Tri-Cyclen. I'm very upset."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control experience. I’m 40 and just wanted a low dose BC that would help with ovulation and PMS symptoms. I lasted 10 days. Although it did keep me from experiencing another ovarian cyst during ovulation, I had horrible migraines from day 3, numbness in the left side of my face, immediate weight gain (5 lbs in a week), and a bit of nighttime anxiety. My doctor switched me today, and I’ll start the mini pill tonight. If you struggle with anxiety, headaches, or are sensitive to estrogen, this pill may not be a good fit."

It gave me minimal side effects, just a little bit of weight gain and very tiny breakouts around my chin, nothing too bad. Overall, I've been having unprotected sex since the second week I was on it and never had a pregnancy scare!"

For Birth Control "I didn’t have any issues with this birth control. It was the first one I was put on, so I don’t have many to compare it to, but overall I never had an issue with it. It made my periods a lot shorter and lighter (from 7 days and extreme pain to 4 days and moderate pain). I did gain a bit of weight, and it didn’t help with my acne too much, but I was mostly looking for something to help my periods, which it did. I just recently switched due to manufacturing issues, but hopefully it comes back!"

For Birth Control "I haven’t used BC pills in years. The last form I used was a non-hormonal IUD, but it made my cramps terrible and my bleeding was very heavy. I work in the fitness industry and work out 4-6 days weekly. I’ve been on acne meds for years. After 3 months on Vienva, I noticed a huge decrease in my acne. BUT I also noticed a huge decrease in my sex drive and energy levels. My anxiety isn’t higher, but my depression level is. I’ve gained 10 pounds, regardless of my physically active job, rigorous workouts, and attention to nutrition. Those “PMS cravings” that we experience are far more often for me now than before. I was concerned because I’ve had a lot of spotting in between periods or breakthrough bleeding for days at a time, and I did see other reviews with similar reactions. I will say, we have not used another form of protection, and I’m not pregnant, so there’s that. I plan to switch to Mirena this month because the negative effects are not worth the few positives."

For Birth Control "Be careful taking this medication. My pharmacy changed brands when I picked up my refill. I took Vienva for 2 months and started feeling different after the first month but didn’t realize it was from the new pill. Originally felt lethargic and tired and thought I was getting sick, but that soon spread into not wanting to do anything and feeling anxious and moody (not normal for me). My blood pressure got so high in such a quick time, and I gained almost 15 lbs. I switched back to my old one before even starting my 3rd pack and feel 100% better. Be careful if you take this and notice changes, especially with your blood pressure. Don’t be so quick to write them off as I did."

For Birth Control "I've been on Vienva since December of 2019, and I haven't had any side effects until recently. I switched from Tri Sprintec to this one because I had really bad gas on Tri Sprintec. I feel good on this pill, but I've noticed I've gained about 50 pounds since starting Vienva, along with higher blood pressure (not dangerously high), but I've never had high blood pressure in my life. Also, I don't know if it's from the pandemic or not, but I have increased anxiety lately and a few headaches here and there. I started out amazing on this pill, but I'm not sure if switching to another one will be beneficial because I don't like how my blood pressure has increased, along with my headaches and anxiety."

For Birth Control "I started taking Vienva around 3 months ago when Nurx swapped the brand of BC I was taking with it, and at first I was like, okay, cool. Then I started crying many, many times a week, which at first I blamed on my depression, but then I was like, no, this only started happening with this pill. I feel like a cat when they’re in heat. Totally emotional and not nice to be around. I never get my period, but I'm somehow always spotting. That is not as bad as the emotions though, but I’d still like a normal once-a-month period. I can't say anything towards the weight gain aspect since I've been trying to gain weight anyway, but I can say that your boobs do get bigger if you're into that. On the plus side, I'm not pregnant after there were many opportunities for that one, but the birth control does its job."
