For Birth Control "The Pill Club prescribed me Vienva, and I have been on it for a month now. When I read these reviews last month, I was honestly terrified and scared to try it because so many people had awful side effects. But let me tell you, you should give this a chance. You might react completely differently than other people on this. I have had minimal side effects, just a slight increase in acne, and I’ve gained maybe a couple of pounds. Other than that, I feel completely normal on this! Don’t be terrified by these reviews, you’ll be okay. I’ll come back and update in a few months if I’ve started experiencing any side effects."

For Birth Control "I've taken Aviane for the past 5 years (I recently switched to using Pill Club and they don't offer that brand), and Vienva is the equivalent, so I gave it a try. I love it. No side effects at all. No mood swings, weight gain, or breakouts. I 100% recommend it."

For Birth Control "I read the reviews of Vienva prior to taking it and was very anxious. I take the pill to regulate my cycle. Negatives: I had random sharp cramps the 2nd and 3rd week of taking it, which continued while on it. The next was my fault, I read online if you skip the placebo week, you'll skip your period. I had a normal withdrawal bleed after the first pack. My next cycle was on my birthday, so I tried to skip. Every day after my birthday for 2 weeks I bled on active pills. I gave up and had a random placebo week, and it stopped in a few days. I started up the pill again after and had very light on and off spotting, then ran out of pills from the 3 packs. My body wasn't used to the pill, and it was too early to skip. Positives: nails grew really long, lost and kept off 5 lbs. My mood changed for the better - less anxiety, didn't get as frustrated. My acne went from nothing to deep, painful pimples here and there the first month, but afterwards it went away. Hopefully, this review helps."

For Birth Control "I have been on several pill birth controls and recently after my third child, I had the IUD inserted. I hated it and got it removed and was switched to Vienva. I was horrified to see all the bad comments, but pleasantly surprised I am on my fourth week and feel better than ever! No more mood swings, cystic acne, painful sex, weight gain I had with the IUD. For Birth Control "Update from May review: I really love this Vienva pill. Out of all similar ones, this one is closest to Lutera. I did have some breakthrough spotting my 1st pack due to switching from a minipill. Once I had that 7-day withdrawal bleed, my body reset like the nurse said, and no more bleeding on active pills. I keep my pill pack in my wallet too, with this being a low dose. My periods start 2.5 days into the sugar pills and are 6 days total, with my 3rd day being semi-heavy to medium and the rest light flow. I do get overly tired and moody with headaches 3 days before I start my period. But no angry random mood swings all month like some pills. Skin stays mostly clear except for a couple of pimples before my period. Might have lost a few pounds too. My boyfriend and I both love that my sex drive is up and that this pill has given me pregnancy protection. This pill is worth a fair shot. If a pill doesn't agree with you after 2-3 months, call your ob and switch. I have been through this many times myself."

For Birth Control "Started this pill at the end of 2020, so it’s been about 4 months. I don’t really notice any side effects of it. Before I started it, I used to have bad depressive episodes, and I still do, but somehow I think it lessens once I took it. Period cramps used to be really painful for me before, but now it’s pretty much nonexistent. The first month or so was me adjusting, so I still felt some cramps, not anymore. My flow is also much lighter and lasts for a less amount of days. It used to last 7 days, now it’s about 3-4 days. I also don’t notice weight gain or more acne breakouts that are abnormal. I’m glad it works out for me. Remember it’s different for everyone."

For Birth Control "So I’ve been on this drug, Vienva, for a couple of years. My pharmacy automatically switched me to this from Lutera. Pros: no weight gain, periods are regular, and I’m not pregnant. Cons: cystic acne, depression, horrible anxiety, and constipation. I’m going on a new birth control soon and crossing my fingers it won’t be worse than this one. I feel like this birth control will benefit you physically but definitely not mentally. I find it very sad how doctors do not discuss the mental impact these medications could have before prescribing them :("

For Birth Control "First and last time using this drug. I just started my 3rd pack and have been bleeding nonstop since week 2. It has made me emotional, sluggish, bloated, abdominal cramps, acne, and bad gas with multiple poops a day. I’ve never felt this bad before, ever. For Birth Control "I read reviews on this birth control, Vienva, after it was prescribed to me, and I was concerned already. I went through The Pill Club, and they encouraged me to take it for a short time anyway because everyone has different experiences. Many reviews said that Vienva caused them acne, and this is what I was concerned about. For about the first week of taking the pill, I got bad headaches soon after taking them, but those soon stopped. However, I took them for the recommended 3 months and began to have large, horrible acne. I am used to hormonal acne around my period, but with this birth control, my skin was getting worse and worse. I decided to stop use altogether."

For Birth Control "I started Vienva birth control about 6 months ago due to a job change causing my insurance to switch me from Lessina to Vienva. I always look through this website for birth control reviews, and I have to say I was absolutely terrified that I had switched to Vienva. I completely understand that we all have different experiences, but I would like to share that I had absolutely no side effects with this medication. No acne, no weight gain - in fact, I’ve lost 10 pounds from exercise and eating better and do not feel this birth control has interfered with my weight loss, no mood swings, no change in sex drive, and most of all, not pregnant. My periods average 4-5 days, but I usually skip the placebo pills, starting the new pack right away. Give it a try and keep in mind everyone reacts differently."

For Birth Control "I have never been as miserable as I was on Vienva. I bled non-stop (which really defeated the purpose of being on it), I got acne, and my mental health took a beating. I could not stop crying, which not only made it impossible to get college work done, but was also an occupational hazard since I work with large unpredictable animals. I gave up on it after a month or so, but it’s messed up my hormones pretty good. My periods are less regular than they were before, and since I started it, I’ve gotten 2 yeast infections (which I had never gotten before). I strongly recommend against Vienva, especially if you have struggled with an eating disorder or depression. It caused a resurgence of body dysmorphia and made me so deeply depressed. I cannot stress how awful it was."

For Birth Control "I took Lutera for years without an issue, and when I wanted to restart it, I was told it’s now called Vienva. Within a month, I had a stubborn yeast infection, nausea, weight gain, constipation, acne, and generally felt crabby. Whatever is in this new formulation did not agree with my body. I will not continue this brand!"

For Birth Control "I do not wish this brand upon anyone!! I’m so mad that I didn’t look up the side effects of Vienva sooner! I have been getting so mad at my boyfriend, sleeping for almost 10 hours every night and not wanting to get up, breaking out, having the worst cramps ever (which was why I wanted to take birth control because I’ve always had bad cramps), randomly crying and feeling like a piece of garbage all the time. For Birth Control "This garbage has completely destroyed my system. PLEASE seek a replacement if you start feeling off! This garbage has changed who I am mentally and physically. I was “giving it a chance” for my body to adjust, but it has put me into insane bouts of depression and uncontrollable mood swings (as in bawling my eyes out and then rage screaming the next). For Birth Control "Started, and for two months I am very conscious of the placebo effect and not psyching myself out. But I have noticed I get bad acne now, I get very upset and very sad sporadically, which is not normal for me. I get angry also for periods, and my hair is much thinner. I can’t feel much bloating, but perhaps I haven’t paid close enough attention to that. My weight has remained the same. My periods are just dark blood, not incredibly painful at all, very “normal.” Only real noticeable complaint is truly the acne, which I never get, and the minor mood swings. For Birth Control "Let's start off by saying this has prevented pregnancy. BUT, my anxiety, depression, acne, and weight gain have skyrocketed. Every time I think my acne is gone, it comes right back, and I'm 21 years old. I get anxiety just by eating in front of someone because I overthink how I'm eating. I've gained almost 15 pounds just from being on this (NONE of it being in my blogs). I have also noticed a plummeted sex drive and less 'lubrication' than before. My motivation to do things I used to love doing all the time now only comes in waves. I've also experienced random breakthrough bleeding, which freaked me out. UUGGHHH I have to take 5 more months of this rubbish before I switch to Ortho Tri-Cyclen. I'm very upset."

For Birth Control "Started taking birth control 6 years ago. Originally started with a different brand, but I've been taking Vienva for a couple of years now and haven't had a problem. My periods have gotten lighter and lighter, as expected with taking any birth control for long periods of time. I think you have to consider that any birth control might give you typical side effects: mood swings, bloating, acne, headaches, etc. It just depends on how your body reacts. I felt more side effects when I was on the first brand I tried and actually prefer Vienva. Everyone's different. Don't hesitate to try something. If it doesn't work out, you can always switch."

It gave me minimal side effects, just a little bit of weight gain and very tiny breakouts around my chin, nothing too bad. For Birth Control "I am 19 years old, and this is my first time on any kind of birth control. I’ve been taking Vienva for about six months. When I first started taking it, I experienced some bigger acne breakouts for a few days, but then my skin became completely clear and has stayed that way since. I don’t experience any nausea. My periods went from wildly irregular and unpredictable to coming like clockwork every 28 days. My sex drive has stayed the same. The only negative side to this medication so far has been very minor hair loss. I noticed my hair thinning out a couple of months after I started taking the pill, but it’s nothing crazy. No bald spots, just thinner all around. Also, I’m not pregnant, so that’s a plus! If you’re looking to take the pill, I do recommend Vienva. Still, keep in mind that every body responds to medication differently. This is only MY experience, and yours might be different. Still recommend, though! :)"

For Birth Control "I first started taking Vienva back in May, as I was having really bad cramping with my periods and decided to go back on birth control. I will say that it has helped a lot with cramping and same with acne. However, this month I have had so much breakthrough bleeding that it’s been the most annoying thing ever. Today I woke up and essentially have my period, again. I am only 4 days into my new pack of pills too, and was supposed to have my period last week. Which I did, but it was so light like it has been since I started. But today I had to use a super tampon! I don’t know what’s going on, but hopefully it’s a fluke and it will be normal again next month. If not, I’ll be switching for sure."

For Birth Control "HORRIBLE experience. I'm surprised this BC is on the market because it almost ruined my life. While on it, I was depressed, irritable, and had bursts of anger, as well as hair thinning, loss of appetite (I'm already thin), and acne. I could not figure out why I had basically no will to live or motivation to do anything and was getting extremely irritable not only with my friends, boyfriend, but coworkers as well. I'm normally a very calm, collected person, but this pill made me feel like I had no control over my life. AVOID!!"
