"I've been taking Vienva for almost a year now. It's the first birth control I have tried and luckily have not had any awful side effects. I totally understand it not working for other people though. I love that I can take it to skip my periods. The breakthrough bleeding every few months hasn't been so bad either."

"I took this medicine to help ease some of my menstrual pain and make my periods more regular. It has cut my menstrual pains and cramps down to about 10% of what they were, and I can CHOOSE when to get my period or not to get it at all. How awesome is that? I have experienced zero negative side effects. My quality of life has improved so much."

"Okay, so I’ve been on the pill for about 6 months. I don’t know if it’s breakthrough bleeding but ever since the week BEFORE Christmas... I am STILL on my period, at first it was light but ever since then, I’ve had my light period but it’s heavy at the same time, it’s uncomfortable because it’s now February and I still have my period and I feel like it’s gotten heavier. I never has any side effects, I mean lately my mood had been different, but I think it’s because I’ve started drinking water, I’ve been working out more and lately I have been stressed, so I think it’s just a MIXTURE of a lot of subjects because. When I first started, I was doing fine, no cramps at all, light bleeding WHEN I got my period, no headaches. When I started my pill I do remember being at work and feeling very very nausea, but that was a random day, then it stopped. I knew it was because the pill. Best part is no cramps."

"DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION. I recently switched to this pill after my period got off track from my last pill. 3 weeks into taking it, I started getting EXTREME anxiety. Something I’d never experienced before. It cause issues in my relationship because I was trying to hide them. I thought I was going crazy and couldn’t hide them anymore. I was crying all the time for no reason, feeling scared, and nervous. It wasn’t until my friends told me to research the new pill that I realized I wasn’t just randomly going crazy. Lots of people experience the same feelings. I don’t wish this level of anxiety on anyone. I’m stopping the pill and hoping it doesn’t take long to return to normal."

"I started this birth control 3 months ago. Apart from migraines here and there and some discomfort with sexual intercourse at times, this birth control has done wonders for me! I don’t have any nausea or vomiting plus my period cramps have vanished which is great. I was terrified of the previous reviews but it all depends on the person. I am 20 and this is my first time ever on birth control so I’m amazed!"

"My experience has not been really bad. I have been on it for three months. I was previously on the Xulan BC patch, so I decided to switch because in the summer I like to wear tops with strips or a tube top. In the first two days, I had a bad headache, but I decided to continue taking it to see if it would pass. I said I can deal with it by taking some pain relief, and I don't have headaches like that anymore. After the pack of active pills was gone, I went to my second pack, and the same with the third. A few days before Christmas, I spotted for a little bit and it stopped. I thought I might be pregnant, so I took two tests and they came out negative. But overall, I like the pill so far. I haven't had any bad side effects except for the headache in the first two days. My hair has not fallen or changed texture, my skin is the same, I don't have any bad aching, I don't know about period cramps or periods. I will find out in a few days. I also haven't experienced nausea, breast tenderness, or heaviness that would make me think I may be pregnant and causing a false negative result."

"This is the worst birth control I've ever taken. I had the worst break through bleeding and I gained a few pounds while only on a few weeks. I also felt really bloated the whole time and felt really insecure about my body the whole time. I'm switching back to the birth control I was on before this."

"DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! Gave me horrible mood swings, constantly crying, and I began to hate my body. I am usually very confident and love my body, but I gained weight and feel bloated all the time. Not a good experience at all."

"I first started taking Vienva back in May, as I was having really bad cramping with my periods and decided to go back on birth control. I will say, that it has helped a lot with cramping and same with acne. However, this month I have had SO much breakthrough bleeding that it’s been the most annoying thing ever. Today I woke up and essentially have my period, AGAIN. I am only 4 days into my new pack of pills too, and was supposed to have my period last week. Which I did, but it was so light like it has been since I started. But today I had to use a super tampon! I don’t know what’s going on, but hopefully it’s a fluke and it will be normal again next month. If not, I’ll be switching for sure."

"I took Vienva for about 7 months until my pharmacy changed brands and I couldn’t get Vienva anymore. At the beginning I felt very sad and depressed all the time, nothing would make me happy and excited anymore. After about 3 or 4 months things started to go back to normal. I noticed that I gained some weight after about 4 or 5 months of being on Vienva but I’m not sure if it’s the birth control or if it’s just that I have been home so much (because of coronavirus) and haven’t exercised as much. I didn’t notice any other side effects like other people do."

"HORRIBLE experience. I'm surprised this BC is on the market because it almost ruined my life. While on it, I was depressed, irritable, and bursts of anger as well as hair thinning, loss of appetite (I'm already thin), and acne. I could not figure out why I had basically no will to live or motivation to do anything and getting extremely irritable to not only my friends, boyfriend, but coworkers as well. I'm normally a very calm/collected person but this pill made me feel like I had no control over my life. AVOID!!"

"I took it for about 2 1/2 months. I became depressed and anxious. I was anxious before and Vienva made it worse. My body ached from it, too. The pain increasingly got worse until I finally stopped taking it. My chest also hurt. It seemed to have a negative affect on my breathing and circulation. I got a heavy period the day after I stopped taking it. It was very heavy and both my back and stomached ached. While taking it, I hardly had any cramps or PMS symptoms before periods. That was one plus side. Overall, I would not recommend. It is a poor quality birth control. If your body can take it, then great, but if you want to feel good and normal do not take it."

"I started taking Vienva almost 3 weeks ago. Ever since I started I have felt miserable and nauseous all the time. I took some medicine hopping it would go away but it never did. After tonight I am done taking it. It made me very sick. I definitely should have done more research before starting. Please take at your own risk."

"I was on the Vienva pill for about two years. It made my period delightfully regular (though it would start four days into the placebo week), and I didn't experience any side effects apart from heavier bleeding."

"I've been on the pill for 2 years and the brand I used gets switched pretty often, but I haven't had any trouble with any other brands except this Vienva brand. Its the worst brand I have ever used. I never cry yet ever but since I started taking Vienva I break out crying for no reason, I'm also bloated all the time and I get stomach pains. I do NOT recommend this brand of birth control."

"When I first started taking Vienva (Generic of Aviane, Orsythia, Lutera) I could instantly feel my mood change. I've become very moody/irritable and its made my anxiety much worse. Now three months in, I've been bleeding for 12 days straight and haven't gotten a goodnights sleep in weeks."

"This is the worst birth control ever. I’m only a week and a half into this and have never felt this depressed and was wondering what was wrong with me. This pill, it makes me want to not take any type of bc ever again. I’ve been feeling so off these past few days and don’t even feel like myself."

"Vienva negatively affected my health both physically and mentally. Within two weeks of taking Vienva, I began bleeding constantly, like a mild period that got extremely heavy during the time of my expected period. I also experienced extreme fatigue, migraines and mood swings. A couple of weeks into taking Vienva I became depressed, which continued to worsen until I felt suicidal by three months. At this point my husband intervened and strongly suggested I consider switching to a different birth control method. I have been off of Vienva for two months now, and all of my symptoms have completely subsided--including the depression."

"I was switched from Aviane to Vienva due to a problem with my insurance. This is by far the worst brand I have ever taken. Full blown acne with three big cyst like pimples on my temple region and bacne like crazy. Also caused cramping for two weeks. Awful. Can't wait to switch back to Aviane"

"I am 20 years old, 21 in a few days and let me just say that every body is different and everyone reacts to drugs differently. Don't let the reviews scare you because when I first started these reviews gave me so much anxiety, but I honestly had barely any issues with Vienva other than sore boobs and extensive breakthrough bleeding that I can just stop by taking placebos. The breakthrough bleeding is super light as well and barely even there. It gets annoying at times but that is the only issue I have. No anxiety, no headaches, but every body is different and this might not be for you!"

"I do not recommend this drug. My original birth control drug stopped being produced so I got switched to Vienva. I was on this drug for a short period of time and I was feeling depressed, anxious, felt sick to my stomach, cried at the smallest things and overall my whole body ached."

"Just started and have had breakthrough bleeding since. I’m really hoping this ends soon because my last birth control had me very sick and I’m scared I’ll have an issue with this bc also. I know it’s a trial and error thing until you find a bc that works but this is very annoying and kinda scary too"

"I wanted to do this review for anyone who has just started this medicine. I’m 28 years old and have only tried birth control when I was 23 for a 2-week period and hated it. I wanted to try again so I was prescribed the Vienva. So far I have taken mine for 8-days. I waited for all the awful side effects I had seen in many reviews but have had few. The worst side effect I experienced was the nausea. Some days so bad my mouth would salivate and I would tremble. I have not experienced any noticeable effects on my mood, no headaches, no anxiety or depression, or any breakthrough bleeding. I’m honestly surprised as being someone whose basically never taken BC on the norm, I haven’t experience any worse side effects. I’ve also had a decrease in appetite and have noticed no effects on my sex drive either. So though it is still early, I feel like this is going to be a really good option for me."

"Worst pill ever! I mean it! Please make sure you consult with your primary care before starting so they can go over your health history as well. I switched to this pill and have been having severe migraines for two weeks now. I’m also more anxious than before and irritable (my poor boyfriend). I stopped taking this pill and have had the best two days in the last 2 weeks!"

"Horrible, I hate these birth control pills Vienva. They have made me nauseous every morning, gave me headaches for a good week or so and will get really bad mood swings and make me feel so emotional sometimes. As soon as I finish this pack I will change to a different brand, or maybe even sooner because I can’t deal with this. Oh not to forget to mention, I’ve been bleeding since I got my period and have not stopped, I got my period over a week ago... without the pills my period will only last a few days 4 days tops."
