"Honestly I was in tears once I was prescribed this and then looked at the reviews. I haven’t had any weight gain, I have clearer skin, and I don’t have any issues with mood. Perhaps maybe in the first month I was a little moody and sensitive but after having my first period everything was fine. I honestly feel normal and am writing this for anyone who was like me and freaking out when reading these. You’ll never know until you try but I was previously taking Lutera with Nurx and switched to this as it was cheaper with The Pill Club ."

"Read these reviews before going on Vienva and didn't believe it one bit ...until it happened to me. WORST BC EVER save yourself please. I never got cramps from my period and now this pill makes it worse and increased my migraines. It makes me extremely sensitive and emotional which is not me at all , and has given me the worst 2 months of depression and overthinking and insecurities. Please do not take this pill and save your mental health because this pill made me feel like I was a crybaby and crazy."

"At first I got the birth control to regulate my period because it hadn’t come in over a month so my doctor said since I’m active I should consider this. I started taking the pills September 11th and at first I was having mood swings and nausea but after the first couple days I was better. I have gain 8.3 pounds and it’s only been 3 weeks (which I’m happy about). Coming to this site everyone scared me with all the bad reviews but I like this pill. I’ve had clearer skin, gained weight and been able to keep up. I will say I have no appetite on this pill though. I mean I will eat a lot , get “full” and maybe 2 hours later be starving again "

"I too was was switched from orsythia without any notification. I figured it was the same thing so no biggie right?...wrong! This drug almost destroyed my life. I'm about to check myself into a mental institution. It made me so, so down, and gave me panic attacks. I'm so resentful to whoever switched this without telling me...do not use this drug!!!"

"I was switched to Vienva from Orsythia by my pharmacy last month. I called my doc to make sure it was okay and she said yes they have the same active ingredients and may just have some different fillers and additives, but it should not effect me. I was upset because I had been on Orsythia for 6+ months with no problems at all. I just finished my first week of Vienva and have had some side effects. I feel nauseous a lot of the time, cramps periodically, increased anxiety, no appetite, fatigue and get dizzy at times. I wasn't able to find any reviews of Vienva on other sites so I'm leaving my review here to hopefully help others in the same situation. I'm going to try to stick it out and see if the side effects go away after a couple months."

"Worst. Cramps. Ever. I started taking this to get control over my period but now I bleed for 2 weeks at a time which is insane and its HEAVY bleeding all 12 days! The cramps are so bad it'll make me stop what I'm doing and curl into a ball because of so much pain! I'm 5'2, 130lbs and am fairly active."

"This is the second pill I’ve been put on due to switching clinics and it’s awful. Worsened my depression and anxiety and makes me so irritable. I’m not sure if it’s coincidental or not, but I’ve never weighed more in my life than I do right now and I’m a fairly small person that has a hard time putting on weight. Also, my period has been irregular the entire 6 months of taking it and I’m almost always spotting. What’s the point of having contraceptive if I can’t even have/enjoy sex because I’m bleeding a majority of the time??? I never had this problem with my old prescription. This pill is literally the stem of all my problems and I cannot wait to switch."

"I’ve been on the Birth Control Vienva for about 4 months now. Before I started I weighed 135 pounds constantly for the past 2 years. After I started, it I started to gain weight. I now weigh about 150lb. I don't mind the extra weight I’ve gained, but I don’t want it to gain anymore. I didn’t see anyone write about gaining weight. Other than that, I have a regular period and no other side effects. It’s worked so far."

"I took Lutera for years without an issue and when I wanted to restart it I was told it’s now called Vienva. Within a month I had a stubborn yeast infection, nausea, weight gain, constipation, acne, and generally felt crabby. Whatever is in this new formulation did not agree with my body. I will not continue this brand!"

"I’m taking birth control for acne. I’ve tried a few other brands before this but had to quit within weeks because I got severely depressed (I don’t have pre existing depression when I’m not on BC) I have been on Vienva for 1.5 months now and I haven’t experienced the mood swings that I did with other brands. Like I said, I’m trying to use BC to clear my skin, and so far this has done a decent job. I’d say it’s reduced the acne by about 40% but I’m sure it will keep getting better as time goes on. I am trying to skip the sugar pills to skip my period. the pms symptoms that week (back pain, stomach ache, irritability) were worse than usual however I barely bled so that’s good."

"This garbage has completely destroyed my system. PLEASE seek a replacement if you start feeling off! This garbage has changed who I am mentally and physically. I was “giving it a chance” for my body to adjust but it has put me into insane bouts of depression and uncontrollable mood swings (as in bawling my eyes out and then rage screaming the next.) I’ve gained weight, have acne, a yeast infection, spotting, etc. This “birth control “ pill is DANGEROUS."

"I've taken Vienva for 6 months and am about to change my prescription. My symptoms include constipation, bloating, uneven skin texture, back pain, large clots in period, and the most irritating, increase in breast size. They have become so large and heavy and SAGGING over the span of my time on this pill. I've also had next to no sex drive. Typically I would get dark brown clots for 2-3 days before my period started, and then my regular period would still be mostly clots."

"Do NOT take this birth control. I have never been an emotional person. I hardly ever cry, I'm generally happy, and very motivated. After taking this pill for a few months I was so depressed that I couldn't force myself to even get out of bed. I wouldn't go to class, I wouldn't go to work, and I didn't even want to do fun things with my friends. Even when I was in bed avoiding everything I was still feeling depressed. Once I realized that it was the pill doing it I stopped taking it and immediately felt like myself again. It made me go up a cup size and made my skin clearer, but nothing is worth the emotional turmoil. Save yourself"

"I have gained an unwanted 20 pounds in 1 year after being on this pill and am struggling to lose the weight. I did not experience this kind of weight gain with other birth control pills. Break through bleeding was more common with this birth control pill too. I will be stopping!"

"Absolutely the worst. I previously used the depo shot and IUD’s for years and had little to no issues with those. I recently had my IUD taken out because it was time, and wanted to try the pill. Pill club prescribed me Vienva, I’ve only been taking the pill for about a week and a half and I refuse to take another pill. I have been dehydrated and vomiting nonstop for three days now, about to go to the ER. Mood swings are insane (I have pre-existing bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety) if you have any mental illness, think twice before taking this pill. So many terrible things to say. I’m furious. 0/10 do not recommend to ANYONE."

"This pill started out fine with some minor side effects that I was told I would adjust to. Everything got worse with time. I wake up trembling with anxiety most mornings, I always look/feel pregnant, I cry over EVERYTHING so much so that it’s ruining my professional life at work as I cannot control the waterworks. My sex drive is gone and I am honestly terrified to give any other pill a try just because of the experiences I have had on this one."

"Took this in July 2017 for three weeks. This is the worst birth control I have ever taken. I was extremely angry and depressed. I hated the sight of other people. Every night after work I would lay on the couch for hours and cry. It made my mind race a million miles per hour and my body ache all over. The only good thing about this pill is that I became more assertive and people started to listen to me. I was mad angry."

"I’m so glad I came across these reviews because I don’t feel so alone now. First of all, I’m only giving this pill a 1 because it didn’t get me pregnant other than that, I’ve never had such a bad experience. Luckily, I didn’t get acne or gain weight. But my mood completely shifted. I became depressed and filled anxiety which isn’t normal for me. I cry all the time for no reason. This pill hasn’t changed my friendships but it has taken a toll on my relationship with my boyfriend. I am constantly mad at him for no reason. I don’t feel like myself anymore. I was going to the gym 5x a week and lost interest in fitness. I originally thought I was mildly depressed but after all of these reviews, I realize now it’s all due to this pill. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone!!!"

"I DO NOT WISH THIS BRAND UPON ANYONE!! I’m so mad that I didn’t look up the side affects of Vienva sooner! I have been getting so mad at my boyfriend, sleeping for almost 10 hours every night and not wanting to get up, breaking out, having the WORST cramps ever (which was why I wanted to take birth control Bc I’ve always had bad cramps) randomly crying and feeling like a piece of garbage all the time. I am not taking one more pill and I can’t believe I have put up with this pill for so long !!"

"I got switched from Aubra to Vienva and it was such a smooth transition. This birth control is great! I have not experienced anything abnormal with my body, I’ve stayed the same. I have noticed my skin has cleared up a bit more, there are those occasional zits here and there but thats normal. I would recommend this birth control but everyone’s body is different so who knows, but by far it has been a great experience."

"I was taking this birth control for around 6 months, and there was major change. For the first 2 months my breasts were very sore as if I was about to get my period, but it was constant. The rest of the time was normal, but I saw that I was a bit more hormonal then usual, and my sex drive went significantly down. My body usually adjusts to birth control very quickly so my periods were regulated after taking this medication within second month, and my periods were constant from then on. Everyone’s body is different so it might react differently. I had to get off this pill though because my doctor thinks that it might be affecting my blood pressure, so if you have high blood pressure in your family, ask your doctor first!"

"I had the worst periods. Cramps, nausea, dizziness, heavy bleeding, long periods, all of it. I gave in at 25 years old and went to get birth control for the first time in my life. Dr gave me Vienva and I was scared reading reviews, but I had to try it myself. I took the pill at night two hours before bedtime just in case I did get side effects and I did go #2 more times than usual in the mornings at the beginning, but that was it. I didn't gain weight, wasn't "depressed," none of it. I am finishing my first period on it and it took two and a half days to start bleeding and I had minimal cramps and consistent regular bleeding. I had a semi-heavy day on the third day but nothing excessive. I am going to start my new pack today and I am still spotting, hopefully it stops by tomorrow."

"I have been taking this the Vienva pill for a week and can't stand it, I'm switching tomorrow. I have cried so much and felt so depressed and anxious that it has exhausted me. I have never felt this sad all the time. It's seriously unbearable. DO NOT take this pill, the side effects are awful, I can't believe that they still write prescriptions for it."

"At 35 years old and out of all bc pills I have ever used, low dose levonorgestrel worked best for me. Never any bad side effects, no babies and makes my periods lighter and shorter. Lutera was my favorite until a manufacturer change. I just recently got a new scrip for Vienva and been on it less than a week now. Switched from a minipill back to a combo. My moods were out of control, hair was fragile, I bled for 3 weeks and it only got heavier. Became very nauseous and anemic. I was never late or missed pills. Ever since the switch back I have never felt better. Moods mellowed and the bleeding has almost stopped. Skin has stayed clear, hair is healthier and no fluid retention. One thing I have noticed however, is I get more dehydrated and sweets have been making me sick. I will update you ladies again in a few months. So far this pill is worth a try. Glad my dr listened to my concerns and put me back on the right pill."
