"I'm going into my third pack of generic brand. I LOVE IT. Of course worth any medication there's always side effects and allowing your body to get used to it. My first pack I bled for a little over a month but of course that was already spoken about at the doctors. I'm about to go into my third pack in about a week and a half and I've a some light spotting, but nothing to be alarmed about. A little upsetting because I don't want my period at all unless it's when I'm supposed to get it but this is normal. I highly recommend this method of birth control, my friend encouraged me to do this instead of continuing with the IUD I had inserted for 4 years, I give it a 10!"

"I've been on this birth control for about a year, and I like it just fine. It can be so hard to find a birth control that is right for you! This one is great because you only have to have a period every three months! I've read a few reviews that say they skip the sugar pills and forego having a period. I've tried that twice and both times I had a ton of breakthrough bleeding and basically had my period anyway. Maybe it's different for everyone. I have started getting migraines occasionally lately, which isn't normal for me. I think this may be a side effect of this pill that is fairly common. Other than that, the pill has worked really well for me! It doesn't make me gain weight, which was an issue for me with other pills."

"Honestly I know experiences often depend on the woman but I had nothing but problems. I bled every single day for 4 months before I finally stopped taking it. It was awful. I am a healthy young woman with a regular period. My doctor said the bleeding was normal. But 4 months straight? I don't think so. That being said the up side was I didn't have worsening acne, weight gain, headaches, etc."

"I have been taking Seasonique pretty much since it first came out about 7 years ago, and I've never had any spotting or negative side effects at all. My period usually starts the Friday after I start the inactive pills and is completely over within 3 days. I have always had awful cramps and mood swings, and the Seasonique doesn't help much with those, but it's not so bad when it's only 4 times a year. Overall, this pill is amazing. It used to be pretty expensive, but now it's only $20 with my insurance. Split over 3 months that is really cheap!"

"I have been taking this birth control for nearly 6 months. My new obgyn told me to stop taking it because of my blood pressure as it rose since I started this pill. I also gained 18lbs on this pill. I even changed my eating to eating healthier which didn't affect my weight. I also got a shorter temper on these pills. I also have almost constant breakthrough bleeding with mucus probably 3-5 days a week"

"READ IF YOURE CONSIDERING GOING ON SEASONIQUE! I started BC to help with the cramping from my ovarian cyst, heavy period flow and cystic acne. After getting used to Seasonique I was in love! My skin cleared up! And a period 4 times a year! I was so happy until now, a year later. Acne is coming back, periods are coming a week early, AND I'VE GAINED 30 POUNDS! I've always been a skinny girl, good appetite, and fast metabolism. I am 5'5 was 110lbs and now I am 141lbs. Gaining this much weight in a year has ruined me mentally but also physically. I have big purple stretch marks on my armpits ,back, hips, butt, thighs, inner thighs and some coming on my calves. I've tried working out, counting calories, changing my diet and continue to gain weight.I'm devastated. to top things off I was getting it for free but can no longer get free samples so I pay $85CA when others pay nothing for birth control. I am so impatient to be going on a new BC"

"Gained a lot of weight on this pill. I'm always hungry. Absolutely no sex drive, which puts strain on the relationship. I'm on my last row of pills of the 3rd month and still no period. I'm fixed so I know I'm not pregnant. I will be stopping this pill once I'm done with this last pack."

"I been on sesonique for 3 month. I had been spotting every day since I started using it and I had a full blown period 2 weeks after starting using it. I love the fact I only get your period every 3 month but the spotting is not much better. I notice that I am get really angry sometimes for no reason and I feel sad and depressed. It also made me gain 15 lbs which its making me a bit stress out. I talk to my Dr. And she said since I'm just started this med my body had to get use to it. I'm think I'm going to wait 3 more months to c how my body adjusts to it. Also I take my pill at the same time everyday on the dot. so my spotting it's not cause by missing doses or taking it at different times"

"This pill was prescribed to me because I get menstrual migraines. While it has worked for that & kept my skin clear from the cystic pimples I would occasionally get, it has raised my blood pressure & made me gain at least 15 pounds now over 3 years. & still gaining. When will it stop? Obviously not until I stop taking it. I don't eat any more than I ever have, appetite feels the same yet this weight is somewhere on me. I am very unhappy with it. I feel bloated constantly & no matter how much I work out or how much water I drink I cannot lose any weight. Seriously considering ditching this medication & just dealing with the migraines another way. If you have started this med & are gaining weight caution-if will not stop."

"Getting on this BC has been the worst decision of my life. I never had any issues with my previous BC but I wanted to switch to something that I would only have to get refilled every 3 months and that would eliminate me from having periods all together. The first 3 weeks were ok. I had cramping but nothing too major then the 4th week came and all hell broke loose. I only have 2 more weeks left of the 3 pack and I've been on my period for the last 6 weeks!!!!! For a BC thats supposed to eliminate you from having a period this is insanity. I hate this stuff and wouldn't recommend anyone getting on it."

"I've been on this BC for 1 month. I had no adverse symptoms or side effects for the full 4 weeks (no nausea, bloating, headaches, etc.) until my period started at its usual time... though it's much lighter. On day 4 of my period so hopefully it doesn't last much longer! Having some dull cramping on and off too which is unusual for me. That said, this can happen with any pill when you start so I will give it more time before a final review!"

"I never know when my period is going to be on this pill. I get spotting twice a month sometimes. Currently, I am on one of the heaviest periods I've ever been on, and there is so much uterus lining that I'm thinking it's from past periods that were just from those random spottings, maybe supposed to be periods. It's so horrible. I've been on this pill for over 6 months and have bled way too much in that period of time. "

"So, I was on this birth control from 2014-2017 and I LOVED it. I went through many trial & errors before finding that this medication didn’t cause me any awful side effects. Others I tried I became secretly nauseous to the point of not being able to keep anything down, light headedness, headaches. I raved and raved about this birth control! My doctor recommended that I stop due to an auto immune disease that I was suspected to have, I stopped for one year and recently got back on it and just finished my first three months. This time was a completely different experience for me and I am SO confused. Terrible spotting, ACNE, (I have never had acne in my life) spotting heavily, along with a heavy period, which is why I am on this BC to begin with primarily. I realized that the manufacture is Mylan, and before I don’t know exactly what brand but it was in a bright green case, and those worked great for me. Can’t figure out what manfacturer that was or if it makes a difference."

"I’ve been taking seasonique going on 5 years now. I originally got on it to try and help clear up my skin. 6 months later I started taking medication from my dermatologist to treat my acne and it was cured by that treatment I believe, but the bc could have helped it as well. The first 3 months I bled every day so that sucked but after that I regulated and as long as I took it at the same time every day I had a period every 3 months that lasted 3-4 days when I was previously used to 7 day periods. The only thing that really was awful about this pill is that it killed my sex drive after about 3 1/2 - 4 years of being on the pill which obviously took a toll on my relationship so I’m on the last pack and switching to sprintec."

"I started the pill 3 weeks ago. I'm spotting almost every day and I am trying to take it in the morning at every same time between 0700-0900. But not consistent so I may have to change my timing. I have a few cramps but nothing compare to before. So hopefully things will get better as many explained here."

"I have had PMDD since my teens, I'm 40 now. Being a single mom caring for children on my own I want to make sure I'm on my best behavior. Well once a month I wasn't and so I decided to finally look into treatments. My doctor suggested Seasonique because it stops my periods. No periods, no PMS. I've been on it for exactly three months today. For three months I have been spotting every single day, enough to have to wear panty liners and sometimes I even had to wear light tampons. I thought that not having a period would save me some money on not having to buy those products but I was wrong. As for my PMDD, it has certainly created a significant change each month, however it's still too soon to tell if it's a permanent solution. I will be talking to my doctor about switching if the bleeding doesn't go away. I don't see it feasible living a life where I'm bleeding everyday and I'm pretty sure the daily panty liners will catch up to me with some sort of bacterial infection."

"After being on seasonique for two years and liking it very much I suffered a stroke. I am only 43 years old, with no history of high blood pressure in my family, I weigh 120 pounds and am I’m good shape. Luckily I am familiar with the symptoms of stroke and caught it before severe damage was done. Nonetheless I spent two weeks in the ICU and additional time in the neurological wing of the hospital. I advise caution and constant monitoring of your blood pressure if you take this medication."

"I've been using this product for 4 years. Anyone who is concerned about spotting and immediately switches is just being impatient. It's not easy for your body to be programmed to have a period monthly and then switch in an instant to every 3months. You WILL have spotting for the 1st 2-3 cycles, but it will go away! You must be patient and give your body time to adjust. There are so many versions of this available now: Seasonique, Seasonale. If one isn't working for you because you feel as though it's giving you worse cramps, acne, etc., try another brand. I have not experienced worse acne and my periods are shorter and less painful. Remember your life changes- just because your acne got worse doesn't mean it was automatically your birth control."

"This is the worst birth control pill I have ever used. I have taken it regularly daily and have bled for nearly three weeks with awful cramping. Plus the nausea was so overwhelming. My appetite has been nonexistent. My period came very regularly before going on Seasonique, every 28 days. But to bleed before the yellow pills and for nearly a month? I was checked out by my obgyn and there is no cause for this but this pill is not a good fit for me."

"I was on this birth control Seasonique for 5 years and unfortunately didn’t recognize the bad side effects until a few months ago. I really enjoyed only have 4 periods a year but it wasn’t worth the MAJOR hair loss, almost daily panic attacks, weight gain and stints of depression. Since discontinuing taking the pill 3 months ago, I have lost 20 pounds without changing my diet or exercise, my mental health has improved, and I just feel better overall. This just wasn’t the right choice for me."

"This is by far the best birth control I have been on. I've been on Seasonique for about 2 or 3 years now and not once have I had a single problem with it. Once I do start my period it only last 3 days and it starts out heavy the first few hours but then gets really light. All the other birth controls I've been on I experienced so many side effects. Thumbs up to this one that works wonderfully."

"When I was first given a sample of this medication by my doctor, I read a bunch of reviews (it had been at least 3 years since I had taken birth control in pill form, I had been previously using Ortho Evra) and I was terrified by the side effects people were experiencing with Seasonique. I tried the medication anyway and didn't have near the problems other people were experiencing. I would definitely recommend this product to other people. I never had the break-through bleeding and my period came and ended on time. The only side effect I had was acne. I suffered from acne when I was a child and teenager and after having my son, it seemed to clear up. While taking the Seasonique my acne returned, but not as bad as previously."

"I quit taking my old birth control due to my mood fluctuations due to PMDD I was put on Seasonique and it's helped immensely, I'm on my second month of it now. The only real side effects I experienced were headaches and hot flashes. But these hot flashes are intense. I'm only 31 so I wasn't expecting a side effect like that but my Dr said symptoms usually balance out after taking it for 3 months. I'll keep taking it because of how helpful it's been mood wise. But just know that hot flashes can indeed happen to younger people with a female reproductive system."

"Honestly this pill is great for me. In the past every BC I tried made me sick on the first week of taking pills after the end of my period every month. With seasonique I never got nausea the first weeks in the night. I have not gained any weight, my sex drive has not been effected (as I’ve seen other comments mentioned it was effecting theirs). The fact I only get my period 4 times a year makes me forget I even have a period half the time although it is true if you skip a day you do get your spotting/period. Other than that the only thing I can say is I have noticed more darker hairs around my chin and jaw area but not sure if it’s the pill itself."

"This pill was great for a while. I had one period every 3 months and it helps with mild acne. My only problem is the headaches! They are hell some have even brought me to tears. There's no stopping it with pain pills it just stops randomly. Also your sex drive will hit rock bottom."
