For Atrophic Vaginitis "Beware, ladies! I was reassured by my GP that topical estrogen like Vagifem is so weak and mild it rarely causes side effects. But after taking Vagifem nightly for two weeks, I started having dizzy spells. I took my own blood pressure, and it was 153/85. Normally, it is 121/74! I stopped taking the pills immediately, but 6 days later, my blood pressure is still high, and I am just hoping it goes down soon. This may be an uncommon side effect, I don't know, but the warning about strokes got me worried."

For Atrophic Urethritis "I started taking Vagifem about 7 weeks ago, on Dr.'s advice, saying it's more effective than tablets. No leaflet in the box to describe side effects. Like you, Brody, I started feeling dizzy one morning when I was getting out of bed. I felt a bump on my nose, and when I opened my eyes, I was on the floor. I fainted and hit my head on the bedside drawer, haven't taken them since."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Vagifem made me dizzy, too, and also caused ocular migraines, very scary. I never get headaches. I also despair of the cavalier overuse of plastic. Vagifem did work to stop my recurring urinary tract infections. I am 68 years old with acute vaginal atrophy. I am off Vagifem now. I am lucky to have discovered vaginal laser therapy, which I must finance myself, but which works without drugs to end the recurring UTIs. A gynecologist in my city offers this therapy, which costs about what an annual gym subscription would cost."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Using for dryness, works well but have had ocular headaches, spotting, and dizziness, bloated and weight gain. I’m 45 peri-menopausal on desogestrel for heavy periods. Not sure Vagifem is worth the risks. I’m on two pessaries a week, will cut to once a week once and see if that helps."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Worst 'medication' I've ever had. Horrific headache, couldn't even get up out of bed safely the day after one and only application, extreme nausea and dizziness, next few days spotting, vaginal pain, burning for the next two weeks until I took some acid regulators. Subsequently have been sleepless, extremely low on energy, cystitis, cold sore - basically everything saying the body's taken a beating. One pessary. Still battling it four weeks later. Never again."
