For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I’ve been on this patch for a month and I feel like it saved my sanity! I was hot flashing constantly, had anxiety, brain fog, moodiness, and was exhausted. I finally feel normal again and got my life back. I might need this patch for the rest of my life, and I’m okay with that. I have had no side effects with this patch - thank God!"

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I'm on Activelle for 8 years now, and it was the only HRT that makes me feel like my old self. I tried weaning myself off it, but then the hot flushes come back within a day. I would love not to use anything, but quality of life is very important to me, so I carry on. I tried every herbal and natural remedy, pill I could find, they only worked for perimenopause and not great at all. Two years I struggled every 4 weeks on a different HRT and wanted to jump off a building, until I went to see my gynecologist and she gave me Activelle. For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I became menopausal about a year ago at 48 years old. Racked with hot flashes, mild loss of hair, thinning of skin, but mostly a total loss of humor and joy, I had to do something! I tried Equelle, and it did help with hot flashes, but that was it. Then I switched to several over-the-counter remedies which were more affordable. Nothing worked until the CombiPatch. I returned to my normal self. Sure, I had some mild bleeding, but that was nothing compared to the overall increase in quality of life-feeling better, sleeping better, and more energy overall. It is a lifesaver. It can be expensive if your insurance does not cover enough of the cost, but use the coupons for a reduction in cost. I highly recommend."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I was on the CombiPatch for 6 weeks. After about 4 weeks, I began bleeding, not spotting, having a full period every 2 weeks like a regular period. 6 days prior to taking the patch, I was getting hot flashes that disrupted my life and caused me no sleep. After being on the patch, the flashes went away instantly, and I felt well, however, the heavy periods every 2 weeks were not worth it. It was too much to bear. My blood pressure went up a bit, and I had to change medications. A friend recommended that my doctor change the dosage, and yes, I had every exam in the book, even the intra-vaginal one (the medical term eludes me now) or sonogram, and all results were clear. My fibroids were 3cm, nothing unusual. I simply stopped using the patch and took it off. I couldn’t get to the doctor due to COVID constraints and everything being shut down. I haven’t had a period or spotting since then. I'm going back to the doctor when I can. Has anyone had the same experience?"

I had no trouble falling asleep but would be wide awake at 3 AM for years, and I was always exhausted and frustrated by my interrupted sleep. For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I am 52, and have been suffering from hot flashes for about 2 years. My doctor didn’t want to go the HRT route and prescribed me Clonidine at first. The Clonidine worked for about 4 months, then suddenly stopped. Hot flashes ramped up to 3-5 an hour! Sleep was near impossible. Finally, I was prescribed Activella LD. It took about 3 weeks to work, but it works. I am just 5 weeks in now. Zero hot flashes. I feel my moods have improved, and I also feel calmer. I am experiencing way less anxiety. Basically, I feel like I did 3 years ago before this menopause stuff all started. The only negative side effect for me is daily morning diarrhea, but that seems to be subsiding. I wish I had gotten this medication years ago."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I am a registered nurse. I have been on CombiPatch for 10 years or so. I could not work without it. It made all the hot flashes and profuse sweating stop! Rare episodes of pinkish bleeding checked out and monitored. Hope I can continue to use it forever! Love this product! I am of normal weight, exercise regularly, and have never smoked."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I had severe and constant hot flashes along with heart palpitations, syncope, and flushing, extreme anxiety and depression. It took 10 months to find a wonderful doctor who took me off of HRT oral and on CombiPatch, and it gave me my life back. I could actually feel myself calm down and feel better within 8 hours. No side effects, and yes, my gyno said I would probably be on it for life. That's fine with me, I am more about quality than quantity."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "On this medication for 3 weeks. I was waking up at least 2x nightly with hot flashes... The fatigue had gotten so bad there were mornings going to work I would cry in my car and wonder how I was going to make it through the day. My motivation to do anything was so low. Took this med a week, maybe less, and had my first full night's sleep and continue to do so - no hot flashes!! I also have noticed other benefits. I just feel better. I knew I didn't feel good some days, but all of this crept up so slowly I didn't realize how bad it had gotten for me. I'll watch for side."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I have been using the patch for over 20 years, and my previous Dr. believed the benefits outweighed the risks. My present Dr. is more skeptical but lets me stay on it as long as I get yearly mammograms. When I went into menopause, the symptoms of extreme fatigue, moodiness, and hot flashes were horrible, and I decided I could not live that way. The patch is very expensive in the US. I have been buying it from Canada, where it is 1/3 the cost. I am also on the lowest dose and just using one patch a week. I will probably be on this for life."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I had experienced almost nonstop hot flashes for 3 years before asking my doctor for help. I was a mess. I am on the lowest dose of this medication, and it has been a lifesaver for me. Hot flashes gone, most of the irritability has gone away. I feel like my old self. For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I’ve been on CombiPatch for 3 weeks. I got it in May 2024 but only had the courage to start in October 2024. I had explant surgery mid-May, so I decided to wait a month or so. Then I got cold feet. In September, my symptoms of menopause were hard to ignore. Anxiety and despair were the worst part for me, and I wasn’t even sure anymore if my hot flashes were causing the despair or if the despair was causing the hot flashes because they always came in pairs. Either way, I knew it wasn’t normal, so I put the first patch on. The first night, and until last night, I was awake 2 to 4 times every night, and the hot flashes joined me every time. I almost stopped. The 4th week now, and my first full night of sleep with no hot flashes was last night. I did go to sleep at midnight, which was 2 hours late for me, but I woke up at 8:30, so it’s great. I did notice some more energy, and my husband attested that my mood is much better. Will I renew my prescription? Not sure. Still afraid of reports of breast cancer."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I have been on the lower dose CombiPatch for over 5 months, and it has been a lifesaver. My hot flashes disappeared within a week of starting, I consistently sleep through the night, sex is great (my natural lubrication is back and orgasms are easy again) - it really has changed my life. I'm almost 58 and just stopped having periods last year - I was in perimenopause for a LONG time. I can't believe I lived with such debilitating symptoms for so many years. I had forgotten what it was like to wear sweaters and sleep under cozy blankets - I was just so hot all the time! Now I feel like myself again, and it's amazing. I've had no breakthrough bleeding, just a bit more bloating than usual when I first started the patch (that's pretty much gone away now). I've never had a patch fall off, and I swim and soak in the bathtub regularly. Sometimes the sticky residue left when I remove a patch is a little challenging to get off my skin, but I found rubbing alcohol works like a charm."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I've been on this patch for a month now. Within 2 weeks, I started spotting. Within 3 weeks, full-on bleeding like I had as a 16-year-old. Constant cramping of my thighs and uterus every day, living on Advil. My body does not seem to like any type of progesterone. How do you determine biopsy negative? My doctor tells me to just keep wearing the patch, my body will adjust. Is this true? And if so, how long does this take? I can't take much more of this. I will say all the menopause symptoms are completely gone, but I'm bleeding, cramping, and have diarrhea every day, so where's the trade-off? Anybody help? Thank you."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I came here to read the reviews on the Novem CombiPatch, and decided to share my experience with it. I'm 48 years old, and I'm already postmenopausal due to having cancer when I was in my 20s, and the chemo caused me to enter into early menopause. The patch works better for me than the pills, but my hot flashes and symptoms are worse since I've been on it. It's only been 6 days, but I read that drinking/ingesting too much caffeine can exacerbate the symptoms of menopause, and I definitely take too much caffeine! I hope the patch helps every person here feel better and have a better quality of life."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I’m 48, been on CombiPatch for almost a year. For the first 6 months, I was on the low dose - which was great and alleviated many symptoms: hot flashes, sleeplessness, anxiety, and weight gain in the midsection. I changed to the higher dose in May and felt great, so I thought I could go back down to the lower dose in Sept., but that was a mistake. I just went back to the higher dose again and I’ll see how it goes in the winter. I did develop an allergic reaction to the adhesive, but my dermatologist prescribed cortisone cream, I apply a bit to my skin and let it dry, and the patch can be tolerated! Also, I do follow a lot of the Galveston Diet protocols, and it helps immensely. I feel like I do a lot just to feel like myself, but it’s worth it."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I was experiencing anxiety attacks, mood swings, strange electrical shocking sensations, and having trouble sleeping more than 2 or 3 hours at a time, even when I was exhausted. This is a pricey fix, but it immediately took care of my symptoms, but I'm having light periods occasionally. If I forget to change the sticker, those symptoms return. I'm on the low dose. I'm so thankful for this drug, while I am not a fan of drugs in general, this has definitely helped my quality of life."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "CombiPatch used to be amazing until they changed the transdermal material. Was once soft, pliable, and stayed in place, no longer does. New material also causes a horrible rash now, a reaction. The medicine itself works great, no more hot flashes, hair loss, or heart palpitations. Novum... Please go back to the original transdermal material. I cannot use this with the change. Leaves permanent round burn scars where the patch is placed."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I developed breast cancer after being on the CombiPatch for almost 3 years. Three of my cancer doctors believe the cancer was caused by the CombiPatch. There is no breast cancer in my family. I have had genetic testing and found out I have no genetic mutations that would have caused the cancer. Noven claims that the risks for breast cancer are low, but I do not believe it. There is nothing else in my history that would have caused the cancer. Please do not take this drug. If you are on it, get off of it and have regular mammograms. Self-examinations did not find my cancer. These pharmaceutical companies are taking advantage of women in pain trying to find relief from menopause. No drug should be sold that causes cancer."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "Dr. put me on 6 months back. Depression, anxiety, hot flashes, and mood swings unbearable. It seemed to do the trick, however, had water retention and massive hair loss made me stop taking. Probably could have managed the water retention, but the hair loss changed my mind to the point I started feeling and seeing bald patches, mounds of hair loss in drain (had very thick hair). For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I have been taking Activella for 4 months now. It immediately alleviated hot flashing and anxiety/nervousness/irritability. However, I think it is beginning to cause headaches. I've also had scalp acne, which started when I was taking a generic form of Activella but seems to be clearing now that I'm taking the actual brand name of the drug. Also, I have noticed I am more emotional (tear up in a second) on this medicine. In the last month or so, I have become increasingly clumsy, dropping things I'm holding. Works like wonders. 6 months ago, started to cut a sliver off every month, but now can't sleep at night, have vaginal atrophy, etc. I've only been using a half patch, and today I put the half back on. I feel like crap. Hope I can use it for a few more years. I'm 65 years old, so it's rather scary."
