For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I was prescribed this drug by my gastroenterologist. I have had my gallbladder removed ten years prior. Took one dosage of this at 9:00 PM, by 10:00 PM was feeling nausea, by 11:30 PM, on the floor of my bathroom in pain, and by 1:00 AM I was being transported by ambulance to my local ER. Diagnosed with pancreatitis. My lipase jumped to 4222. This was the most extreme pain I have ever faced. I am so angry at my doctor for giving this to me knowing I had my gallbladder removed. I feel this company promoted the sales of this 'Miracle Drug' to its doctors and did not fully let them understand the dangers it has. Now I face a lifetime of worry that pancreatitis will return due to permanent damage. ONE SINGLE DOSE CAUSED THIS !"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I've been on this med for about a month now. I don't think I've gone this long without an attack since I was pregnant. My IBS-D went away with both pregnancies, weird I know. This drug has been amazing. The only side effect I have is constipation (I take a stool softener right now because I keep forgetting to buy fiber pills) and nausea if I don't take it with food (directions tell you to, so that's on me). Give it a try! Remember, a lot of insurance companies won't cover it yet because it's new, but they have a savings plan you can sign up for. Take advantage of it!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "26 yrs DX of IBS-D, collagenous colitis, Crohn's, total colectomy w/J-pouch. I have tried every Rx known, and nothing could stop the 20 BM's, incontinence, nausea, GI cramping, and rectal spasms (from surgery). I found Viberzi, read patient reviews, Allergan Pharm documentation. I was on 100 mg x2 daily. Similar symptoms the first few days, by the 3rd day, major decrease in stool frequency and gut motility. Then, towards my 29th day, it abruptly quit working. I became severely ill: nausea, vomiting, headache. GI had me stop taking Viberzi, vomiting and diarrhea in bed a week. GI did blood work and Lipase levels at 124, next week Creatinine 1.2 Lipase 200, still very ill & no answers, my headache off of it for 26 days. FDA fast-tracked this, be careful!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Started this medication today after being on Bentyl for years. Noticed within a few hours I was having side effects. Muscle pains, nausea, loss of appetite. Hopefully, these subside and this medicine works. My insurance covered most of the cost, so pricing wasn't too awful."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Viberzi stopped my constant diarrhea. I have suffered from this for 7 years, since colon cancer, chemo, radiation, and surgery with resection. I have diarrhea at least 3-4 times a week, and it lasts for hours. I am exhausted by it, forced to stay inside and suffer from dehydration often. Viberzi stopped all of this, but I was unable to function in my daily routines. I became exhausted, tired, and slept most of the day. If I didn't lay down, I was extremely dizzy and nauseous. My health insurance refused to stock Viberzi, as the cost was $1,000 per month and, of course, prohibitive for me. Being on Medicare with drug coverage makes me ineligible for any discount coupons."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I was given the drug last Wednesday and started it Thursday morning. Things were fine that day. I woke up Friday morning in a lot of muscle pain, thought it was from my sleep. I took my morning pill and went through my day feeling very sorry my abdomen started getting tighter all day. I felt sick and couldn't even eat dinner. The rest of the night, I was in pain, vomiting, and never had a bowel movement that day. This is the fourth day, and I have diarrhea and very little appetite. I, of course, did not continue the medicine after Friday morning."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I have taken Viberzi for only about one week. The drug works very well at controlling IBS-D for the first week, although my gastro doctor suggested that I continue to take dicyclomine at the same time. The side effects are that it makes you very tired and gives you additional nausea (as if IBS did not have enough nausea all on its own). If you are over 65 years of age and on Medicare, this drug might be a 'teaser' in that it works fairly well, but the drug cost is not covered by Medicare or most other supplementary plans. The drug is way overpriced. When looking at drug discount coupons, the best cost that I got is $500 per month. The cost of the drug is not worth the benefits when other drugs will provide some diarrhea relief."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "This is basically the cure for IBS-D for me. The difference is immediate and dramatic. From 8-10 runny bowel movements a day to 1 to 2 of solid waste, and the cramping and pain are gone. When I first started taking it, I had issues with nausea, but that faded with time. The issue is the cost, and insurances don't like to cover it. It's basically a miracle drug, but it's so expensive people who need it can't afford it. Thankfully, between the coupons and pre-authorizations, I've managed to stay on it so far. But I'm dreading when the insurance company denies it, and I have to go back to living in misery."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Have short bowel with IBD over 10 years. Tried this medication and felt like a hat was crushing my head the first day, then followed by increasingly worse headache bordering on migraines. Pain in my stomach was only surpassed by the pain in my back just under the ribcage, probably liver location. Nauseated constantly too. Hate this ridiculously expensive medication."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I've dealt with IBS-D for 25 years. Recently, I decided to give Viberzi a try. I took it for three days. It did reduce the amount of BMs in the first two days. From the beginning, I felt dizzy, drowsy, stomach pain, nausea, and had coughing spells. On day three, I experienced all of the above with a serious attack of BMs, couldn't stop going. The side effects trumped any benefit. The TV commercials were promising, but it just didn't work for me!!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I've been on this medicine since July '17. The first few months it was a godsend. My initial week on the meds though... lots of bloating, nausea, and sleepiness. My doc explained I was experiencing the bloating because my stomach and system weren’t used to having that much food stay in my body for that long. (I'd have diarrhea after just about every meal, and that was with taking an antispasmodic medicine.) Zantac helped, and after a while, the bloating and nausea subsided, and the drug started to work well! Then too well, so we dropped it down to 100 mg 1x a day from 2x... then it wasn’t well enough, so now I’m on 75 mg 2x a day. Getting more stomach pain and nausea after taking the pills than I used to, so might need to change it if it continues."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "At the time, I think Viberzi worked for my IBS, but it made me nauseous and didn't feel well. After the first two weeks, it put me in bed because I was so fatigued. Now, I have a prescription that costs over $1,000 that I can't use because I can't handle Viberzi. After the Viberzi, I was craving sugar, and so I got some hard candies. My IBS got better, and I thought it might be because it created a lot of saliva, which helped with digestion. Therefore, I got some digestive enzymes with amylase, which is the enzyme in saliva, and now I am eating all sorts of foods with absolutely no problems except maybe some burping."
