For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Took one dose of Viberzi for the first time last night for IBS, and minutes later I had severe chest and back pain, dizzy, etc. I knew it must be the medicine - never had anything like that. I thought I was having a heart attack. Went to ER. They said I have pancreatitis. Yet they told me to continue the medicine - no way - it would kill me! I read afterwards that in FDA warnings, Viberzi is NOT recommended for people who have had their gallbladder removed."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "After having my gallbladder removed 2 years ago, I have been battling IBS-D. I have been on Welchol for about 2 years, and it's okay, not great, but okay. I was taking 1 a day, but I think it needs to be upped to 2. My doctor gave me Viberzi to try, I put it off for a while, then finally took it. Days 1-2 were great. Days 3-4 went downhill fast. By day 5, I was staying within 5 feet of the bathroom. I didn't realize one of the side effects was dizziness (since I have vertigo, I figured my allergies were acting up), weakness, and major gas. I had to stop taking it so I could actually go to work. I think I'll buy stock in Imodium. I am very disappointed this didn't work, so many people worse off than I am did well on it. It's so frustrating."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Viberzi stopped my constant diarrhea. I have suffered from this for 7 years, since colon cancer, chemo, radiation, and surgery with resection. I have diarrhea at least 3-4 times a week, and it lasts for hours. I am exhausted by it, forced to stay inside and suffer from dehydration often. Viberzi stopped all of this, but I was unable to function in my daily routines. I became exhausted, tired, and slept most of the day. If I didn't lay down, I was extremely dizzy and nauseous. My health insurance refused to stock Viberzi, as the cost was $1,000 per month and, of course, prohibitive for me. Being on Medicare with drug coverage makes me ineligible for any discount coupons."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "While it was initially an answer to a prayer, as time passed, I would feel wooziness and sort of lightheaded on it. I cut pills in half, and that helped quite a bit. Then reduced to one half pill a day, and all was great for over two years until I went on antibiotic amoxicillin and right back to all IBS symptoms. I upped to full pills again, but dizziness and general weird feeling back in spades. It seems so unfair that for the first time in decades, I felt great more than not great and just one round of antibiotics, and right back to square one. Hope it’s only me that has this reaction, but the doctor said to not use penicillin-based antibiotics, as he believes that was what caused the setback."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I've been struggling with IBS-D for a couple of years now, tried a lot of different things, went through round after round of testing, all to come back negative. They tried me on the 75 mg Viberzi due to me not having a gallbladder. I've been on it about 3 weeks. Every time I would take it, within a half hour, I had what felt like horrible gallbladder attacks-extremely weak, dizzy, and faint. I gave it another week, thinking I needed to get used to it. My doctor now took me down to one a day. If the side effects go away, I'll be taken off of it. I have mixed feelings, the side effects are not worth it, but it was something that finally gave me relief from running to the bathroom all the time."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Viberzi has done wonders for me! The gross details: I was in the bathroom several times a day and every time after eating. Not only that, but I’ve come close to having accidents many times. Now I can have a meal with no issues. I can even drink milk and coffee again. The only downsides are that after I take it, I feel “off” for about 30 minutes. Dizzy, tired. Secondly, I have the worst gas I’ve ever had in my life, and it’s relentless. No over-the-counter or home remedy has worked for that yet. :("

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I have had problems for longer than I can remember. When I changed doctors, the new doctor said it sounded like IBS-D, gave me samples of Viberzi to try, and my life changed dramatically. I have been on it for about 1 1/2 years and now have the confidence to go eat whatever and be able to leave the house afterwards. I was on a $30 a month insurance plan, which has expired. I applied for assistance and was accepted, but now am told that Viberzi is on backorder. I am now without it and will see whether or not my IBS-D comes back. Other than a slight dizzy feeling after taking Viberzi every morning, which I would just lay down for 1/2 hour and the feeling went away and the day was great, I have had no other side effects at all! I also cut it down to one in the morning and none at night because I was running out of pills and them being on backorder and still no problem."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I've dealt with IBS-D for 25 years. Recently, I decided to give Viberzi a try. I took it for three days. It did reduce the amount of BMs in the first two days. From the beginning, I felt dizzy, drowsy, stomach pain, nausea, and had coughing spells. On day three, I experienced all of the above with a serious attack of BMs, couldn't stop going. The side effects trumped any benefit. The TV commercials were promising, but it just didn't work for me!!"
