For Birth Control "I had been on Nikki for over a year , and all of the sudden got changed to YAZ. It made me SO grateful for Nikki. While Nikki makes me tired and minor mood swings it doesn’t compare it other birth controls. It kept my acne under control. My periods are short and on time every month. I was switched to YAZ and I was a mess, huge mood swings , period started a week earlier. I wasn’t myself. Trying to get Nikki back!"

For Birth Control "This medication has made my acne severely worse. I have also been experiencing burning sensations during intercourse after beginning this medication. I am not aware if this is the cause, but my doctor has tested for EVERYTHING else so we are considering this may be the issue."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control Nikki for only about 2 weeks. I can already tell the difference in my mood. I'm more irritable now and less of my happy self. I can't even tell when I had my period because I have had heavy bleeding since I started this medication. I am going to finish the pack but after that, I'm done with this medication. I can't keep buying pads for this heavy bleeding. It's definitely not worth it to me."

For Birth Control "I used this very successfully a few years ago to control PMDD symptoms; I tried taking it again a few months ago and had a much different experience. I'm 32, and previous use was 25-27 years old, if that matters. I haven't had kids but do have some childhood trauma. The first time I took it was ok- second time... OH MY GOD THE MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS. Incredibly anxious, paranoid, depressed, suicidal. I had what felt like several mental breakdowns where I couldn't stop hitting myself, crying, shaking, etc etc. THIS IS NOT NORMAL BEHAVIOR FOR ME. It almost destroyed my relationship. Everything triggered anxiety and paranoia. Everything. It was a dark pit that I never wanted to go back to. I stopped taking it after 2 months (I figured I just wasn't "used to it"), but the change in my personality was so obvious my partner noticed immediately that I was no longer taking it. The symptoms I had on Nikki were worse than the PMDD symptoms I used to have. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS and track your mood if taking this."

For Birth Control "I would not recommend this pill to anyone. It straight up tried to ruin my life. iIve only been on this pill for a month and I had normal side effects for the first week (moodiness, nausea, etc.) but as time went on it just got worse and worse. I started to have major anxiety issues which is something I haven’t dealt with in years and it also caused me to have depression that’s gotten so bad in such a short time that my doctor had to put me on anti depressants. I’ve been angry ALL the time for absolutely no reason, it almost ruined my relationship because I would get mad at my boyfriend every single day.over the most stupid things but it was absolutely uncontrollable. This past month I’ve felt like I was going insane. My acne did get better and my period has been a lot lighter but it’s not worth it. I’d rather bleed for the rest of my days than have to go through that again. Just don’t do it. Spare yourself."

For Birth Control "My anxiety level has risen drastically in the past few days of taking Nikki. I was on Loryna which was fine, but the pharmacy gave me Nikki instead recently. It's the only thing that's changed in my life in the past few days and I'm positive I can attribute my increased anxiety to this pill. It's so bad that I've decided to stop taking it. I've never had to do this with a birth control."

For Birth Control "I've taken other birth control pills to treat my acne, and this one is the worst that I've been taking so far and I hope to stop it as soon as possible. The pills significantly decreased my menstrual blood flow. However, I've been bleeding straight for half a month. I doubt if this works on acne. Immediately after taking my first pill, I had another severe acne breakout. I was at my home on spring break and I'm sure the breakout isn't from stress or the lack of sleep."

For Acne "I was on this birth control for about a year. It definitely cleared up my face to the point where I had no acne what so ever; however, it made me so emotional, anxious, and angry all the time that I had to stop taking it. I noticed a significant difference in my mood and mental state from before I started taking it till now. I have cried almost every day and am so sad most of the time that I do not leave my bed. My family and friends started to notice my change in behavior as well which made me worried about if my birth control was a part of it. Everyone has a different experience with certain birth controls, but this was just my experience!"

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "Switched from lo-ovral to Nikki about 2 weeks ago without placebo pills in between. The only side effects I've been experiencing is being a lot more thirsty due to the diuretic effect of this pill. The first few days I had minor headaches. I've had mild acne my whole life, but I haven't had a breakout all week. My anxiety/depression symptoms are basically gone and I haven't had a breakdown yet. When I was on lo-ovral I had about one a month."

For Acne "I am conflicted with Nikki because, I like how I didn’t have a period. It cleared my acne. The downfall of it, my boobs got bigger, which I already was busty. My sex drive decreased tremendously. Now I know why I was dry, it was due to Nikki. I was always bloated and gained weight. I took this for 4 years, then got off it. Then got back on because I don’t like my face breaking out. Out of the 6 years taking this and being off it for the second time. It is a fact that it decreases your sex drive and makes you bloated. My sex drive is back full force and I’m losing weight again. The only downfall is my face is breaking out again after being off of it for two months."

For Acne "I was on Gianvi for YEARS and my skin was like glass. I was thin, no mental issues, etc. - and had NO problems until my pharmacy randomly switched me to Nikki. I've since gained 10 pounds on my 5'5' frame. None of my pants fit. My super thick hair has been falling out like crazy. My cystic acne is back. My mood swings are back. My cramps are back, and my periods heavy. What is this pill. STAY AWAY!"

For Birth Control "I’m just trying to inform girls that may be looking to take this birth control. Pros : did help me with my acne, did help with period pains, didn’t gain any weight, was cheap. HOWEVER, there were many bad things about this BCP. My periods weren’t very regulated, my libido was almost 0, the side effects just went on and on. The worst was erratic and depressed moods, which I knew was an issue when I wouldn’t even get up out of bed. My coworker even told me she immediately had to get off it for the same reason. I thought maybe it was just me, but after she told me I knew it wasn't a coincidence. I was reluctant to get off of it because there are some good things about it, but it became too much. Yes, it is different for everyone, but if I could go back and find a better one, I would."

For Birth Control "I’m 41 and have suffered since my first child with cystic acne and PMD. I’m on my 6th month and am feeling amazing. My cystic acne is gone. I have no PMS symptoms and my period is literally nothing where it was previously heavy clotting and severe cramping. I do take Bupropion for anxiety and maybe that had something to do with not having the mood swings and emotional side effects others described? I’m so pleased with how these hormones have balanced my body. I won’t change or alter this medication!"

For Birth Control "My pharmacy switched me over from Gianvi to Nikki. Since taking Nikki, which has been for about 4 months now, my once clear skin has become a playground for acne. Not only is my skin a problem but my periods, my horrible cramps have come back and I never know when it's is coming. One of the main reasons for being on birth control is to regulate my cycle and also help with my PMDD. I plan things around when my cycle will be and with this I have had to miss wax appointments because my period just shows up randomly. Can't forget to add the headaches, nausea, weight gain, blurred vision and the biggest problem being mood swings and aggression it has caused me. I have found myself becoming increasingly aggressive and that's not me. Thank goodness I went and saw my doctor last week and I have now been switched back to Gianvi, I can't wait to feel back to normal again."

"I read these reviews after getting Nikki and they’re terrifying. I asked for Yaz and received this one and I’m on day 4 with none of the issues everyone has mentioned so far. I haven’t been on birth control in 8-10 years so I’m starting fresh. My reasoning is control my heavy flow, bloating, and PMS. I’ve never had acne so the only thing I’m worried about is potentially having severe mood swings. I will come back in a month or so with more findings."

For Acne "I went on Nikki after experiencing extremely bad cystic acne all over my face in high school. After three months of taking Nikki my skin was completely clear. My doctors and parents were shocked at how quickly it worked for me. I never had any side effects and it allowed me to finally have regular periods that lasted 3-4 days. I loved Nikki but I know it works differently for different people this is just my experience!!"

For Birth Control "I want to preface by saying everyone's body reacts differently to medications. Always ask your doctor for extra information on your medicines and things you should keep in mind. I have endometriosis and I have tried Sprintec, depo, and now Nikki. I have woken up at 2:30 am nauseous almost every day for two weeks after starting this pill, and I have vomiting. I know I haven't been on it long but my doc said she'd try to prescribe me a birthcontrol that makes me less nauseous. I read the entire pamphlet that came with the medicine and it says you should get your blood tested for high potassium levels. Make sure to stay super hydrated while on this and you exercise. Those two things have helped me al ot. I'm probably going to switch doctors soon, and hopefully get a medication that actually works."

For Acne "I was on Nikki birth control for a full year. I prescribed it for acne. My skin had a horrible purge before completely clearing up. So it works for acne but it takes a few months before your hormones level out. The only other problem I had with it was that I would get yeast infects when I was never prone to them before."

For Acne "So I posted a previous review sometime in December. I’ve now been on this birth control for a little over 2 months (I’m on my 3rd pack). And I am very happy to say my skin is doing 10x better. My acne cleared up like crazy and I don’t get zits nearly as much. The ones I do get are small and go away quickly. When I was first on this pill the first month was pretty much a nightmare. My skin broke out terribly, bad side effects, etc. But that’s all balanced out now. I’m very happy with this pill, I highly recommend if you deal with hormonal acne. However here are some side effects I’m dealing with still: -drier/more irritated skin -low sex drive -itchy genitals -have to pee more"

For Birth Control "I did not like this birth control at all. For me, it helped me not get pregnant but that was the only positive. It made me very hormonal, depressed, cramping 3/4 weeks of the month, and I experienced my first migraine I’ve ever had in my life, and it was insanely painful and agonizing. I stopped taking it after having that migraine and I had only been taking it for 2 months. I finally decided all the negative side effects were outweighing the pros and it wasn’t worth it anymore. I’m 28 and have taken birth control since I was 17 on and off. This was, by far, was the one with the worst side effects for me, personally."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "So I am ended my 3rd month of Nikki, and unfortunately I have gained about 10 pounds in the last 2 months. I’m very sensitive to hormone shifts having PMDD for years, but really since taking Nikki, I don’t feel any better. I know it can take months for the body to adjust but I don’t know if I can stick this out any longer. The first 2 months I was nauseous almost every day, now my bloating is out of control, my stomach is always distended and worse right before my period starts. For the past two days I’ve had 2 people ask me if I was pregnant :(( I’m really over it. The only positive is my period went from 6-7 days to 3/4 with moderate bleeding. I still cramp 1-2 weeks before my period starts. It could work for you, but it just isn’t worth it for me at this point. I’m sad about it."

For Birth Control "I’m giving this a two only because it was prescribed to me for my debilitating cramps that caused me to call out of work because I was unable to move from my pain (my boyfriend had to carry me to the bathroom type unable to move) and the pain was almost gone aside from an occasional cramp that would leave me winded. For me however, the side effects of this birth control were not worth it. While Nikki is supposed to make your period light/stop completely (stop completely was the goal for me) Nikki made my periods LONGER, my last month using it, my period lasted for 9 days, along with spotting which I never experienced before using Nikki. I also became a lot more depressed and anxious, and the weight gain was horrible as I gained about 20 more pounds. If any of this is relatable PLEASE reach out to your doctor rather than just waiting it out like I did"

For Acne "This birth control Nikki took a few months to help my bad cystic hormonal acne but I am now on month 4 and my skin is so much better. My breakouts are smaller, less frequent and heal faster. My skin is very dry but it’s nothing a diligent moisturizing routine can’t fix. Frankly, dry skin is better than massive painful cysts."

For Acne "CVS changed me to this in August and ever since I've been gaining weight rapidly with no change to my lifestyle or daily routine. I'm at the highest weight I've ever been in my life. As a former athlete who still remains pretty active, it's been incredibly frustrating for me. I switched to Walgreens so I could get my Loryna back - a drug that caused me basically no side effects."

For Birth Control "I've been on Nikki for almost 2 months now and for all the ladies saying that this is the worst birth control ever, I beg to differ. I had nausea for the first week but it quickly passed. My periods are better and I don't have cramping. Keep in mind, THIS IS A HORMONE!! It will alter the hormones in your body and its not for everyone! Before you decide to switch birth controls consider Nikki because my periods are so much better and I'm not pregnant :))"
