For Birth Control "NO SIDE EFFECTS!!!! I'm at a loss for words. I'm 35+, so it actually took all these years to actually find a pill that didn't have me sick or looking like a bumpy Nestle crunch bar. Just 1 small thing, it seems to have a diuretic effect and you will be peeing A LOT - LOL."

For Birth Control "Nikki is worst birth control I have used ever, mood swings, anxiety, stress, and I cry for no reason. My period was 18 days late, breast was hurting and felt like I was pregnant. I stop taking Nikki’s and 4 day later I got on my period . Wouldn’t recommend"

For Birth Control "I am up at 3AM writing this after having what has now become my nightly routine of crying and questioning the meaning of my life. The depression is so bad that I can’t function on a day to day basis. It wasn’t until I looked at my pill pack that I suddenly realized that this severe increase in depression coincided with when I started taking Nikki. I decided to see if other people were experiencing this and low and behold yes."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I suffered with SEVERE menstrual cramps and symptoms that’s it put me in the hospital 3x now. I started Nikki to see if it would help. I have no problems with this birth control at all, and I’ve been on it for over a year now! I was switched to Loryna for a time because my pharmacy stopped carrying Nikki and it was nothing but awfulness those couple of months before I was switched back. I have no side effects, the energy I need, and motivation to get up and about. I’ve read lots of bad reviews about this medication, but I’ve had nothing but excellent experiences with this medication! I do wish they would stop slowing removing it from my pharmacies. I’ve had to switch between 4 different pharmacies to find it..."

For Birth Control "I took Loryna (another generic form of Yaz) for years without any problems. I got switched to another Yaz generic called Nikki about a year ago and within months started feeling some terrible symptoms like being out of breath with hardly any exertion and nausea. Then my legs started to swell and had terrible back pain. Turned out I had a record breaking sized blood clot from my heart all the way to my legs. I after tests I have no underlying factors such as genetics or Factor V and birth control is the only plausible cause. Careful ladies."

For Acne "I got back on birth control to treat my acne and it has cleared my skin up 100%. I am on my third month now and by the second month my skin really cleared up which I never thought would happen. The dermatologist recommended I get on the pill and said by month 3 my skin will be clear, and she was right. I will say the first month I was extremely moody and emotional but that is normal when your body is getting adjusted but by the second month I was normal. This birth control keeps my skin clear, gives me light periods, and I didn't gain a pound on it. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to get on the pill."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for years now. About a year ago I had to come off of it for a month or so. During that month my moods drastically changed. I felt happier, had tons of energy, and I was less hungry. I thought for a second that this could be attributed to me stopping Nikki, but I convinced myself it was all in my head. Recently, I inadvertently skipped a week of my Nikki because I left my pills at home while I was traveling. Again. My mood was amazing and I did it feel the need to nap during the day. I thought nothing of it until now. I started taking Nikki again after returning home. It’s been 2 days. I’ve been in the worst mood all day. Crying, angry and depressed for absolutely no reason and a horrible headache. This cannot be a coincidence."

"I hate this birth control. I was originally taking Gianvi which I absolutely loved because I didn't gain ANY weight. My acne cleared up and I stayed slim. For some reason my pharmacy switched me to Nikki and in 2 months I went from 121 to 143. I am 5'4 and I lift weights 5 days a week. I use to be defined/toned and now I'm so bloated all the time I look fluffy and bulky. I do NOT like this birth control and my skin does not like it either!! :("

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I'm affected by PMDD & really wanted Nikki to work. The first couple of weeks were okay, minor side effects like breast tenderness, but I was okay. Then gradually, little things started bothering me more to the point I was seething from them. I'd suddenly start crying out of nowhere. Then I'd be sad or triggered by something else. I lost interest in activities that brought me happiness & I just sat around in a miserable heap. I couldn't focus on things & sometimes I'd forget about something I had just done. I also had anxiety over the increased risk of blood clots, like there was an invisible guillotine just hanging over my head that could drop any second, & I'd be maimed or dead from it. I really wanted to get to three months hoping side effects would subside & everything would suddenly be okay, but I only made it into my seventh week before I got so depressed it scared not only me but my husband as well. When something makes PMDD sound tolerable, you know it's bad."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Nikki for a couple months now and it helped my acne so well, I have taken Sprintec and Ortho-Tri-Cyclen before and none helped. Also it has only 4 days of sugar pills thus shorter, lighter and painless periods. I love it ! I sometimes skip those days to keep my skin clear because I tend to break out during period days. I also had very bad side effects with other pills such as headaches, weight gain etc I haven't had any of these with Nikki"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for about 2 months now and my period has been going for 15 days and counting. It’s been a constant heavy flow with cramps out of this world! This medication is very concerning because I am over all a very happy person but I have gotten severely depressed within the past month to the point where my mind is uncontrollable with bad thoughts. I do not recommend this product to anyone."

For Birth Control "I've taken birth control since I can remember but when my dad lost insurance I was off of it for maybe 6 months and felt the best and was the most happy I had ever been. I started taking Nikki about 4 months ago and I feel like a zombie. I cry at least twice a day and am constantly angry or depressed when nothing is wrong. I am extremely aggressive for no reason. After coming to the internet for help because I could not take this any longer I threw my pills in the trash! It's amazing how much it has changed my life in such a short amount of time. Please, do not take these."

For Birth Control "I was scared to use birth control pills because my period has never been regular, but decided to give it a try. I haven't had any bad experience with it yet. I did have a difference in my cramps but it was only one day of intense cramps rather than my usual few days of cramping for a few hours each day."

For Acne "I just quit Nikki after being on it for two months. In that time it had severely worsened my depression, gave me extreme fatigue, mood swings. I didn't want to get out of bed most days and I ended up missing a lot of my classes because of how tired I was. It even caused me to develop a yeast overgrowth in my digestive system. I first went on birth control two years ago, my doc prescribed me Junel and it cleared up my acne with little side-effects. I stopped birth control for a year and just recently went back on because of an acne flare and was prescribed Nikki. I quit a few days ago after I realized the pill was causing all of my symptoms and I already feel better. Of course birth control affects everyone differently but please don't try to push past the negative symptoms. Honestly, this experience has made me quite cynical of the pill. I've decided to heal my acne holistically and plan to get a non-hormonal IUD. Goodluck to anybody going on this pill! I hope it works for you."

For Acne "I never post drug reviews because I am in the medical field but man I sure wish I would have read up on this drug before taking it. Within the first two weeks of being on this Nikki birth control, I developed back to back headaches and minor mood swings. Now 3 weeks in, my face has went ballistic and I have cystic acne everywhere. This drug has started interfering with my career since I get self conscious talking to doctors with a face full of zits. I now have to get on back on Accutane to combat the side effects of this horrible drug!"

For Acne "Started this birth control with hopes of regulating hormones after developing relatively severe, persistent adult acne (whole regions of breakouts on cheeks, jawline, chin, chest), irregular periods (alternating between 21-45+ days between cycles), and feeling of unstable mood. After first month of use, acne has significantly improved, is now reduced to a few hormonal pimples on cheek/chin near menstruation. In second month- decrease in excessive oil and significant improvement in skin integrity(heals faster, reduced inflammation, skin feels and looks healthier ‘thicker’). Menstruation is lighter however, have some light spotting mid cycle, and suspect my body is still adjusting to medication after only 2 months. Mood generally more even and cool, fewer extreme lows. Side effects! I work 12h days and also run long distance and I’ve noticed a drop in my stamina. A couple of days where I’ve felt overwhelming fatigue. Suspect it is due to the way drug counters natural testosterone."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I decided to take birth control to help with my PMDD; my anxiety & OCD would get much worse, and my depression would flare up, starting about 11 days before my period. I dreaded whenever I had a special event or work deadline due around that time of the month. So I decided to try birth control recently. My anxiety increased for a couple weeks upon taking it, but this anxiety has leveled off and now I don’t notice it affecting my mood in a negative way at all. I have noticed no hair loss, weight gain, or acne thankfully. I have been taking Nikki (generic), for about two months now, and I’m amazed by how I don’t have PMS anymore! (I decided, upon doctors recommendation, to take pill continuously-skipping placebo pills- so I don’t have periods anymore; so this may be why I don’t have the PMS). Only negative side effect: breakthrough bleeding about 10 days during the first month, but it’s been much lighter and less time this month."

For Birth Control "I have been on Nikki for a week and a half and it completely messed up my stomach. I am always nauseous, always hungry, and I have been having diarrhea. I also constantly have a weird taste in my mouth that won’t go away no matter what I do. I haven’t been spotting or getting headaches but I did break out a lot and I have been very irritable. I cannot wait for this month to be over so I can switch birth controls again."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I am so very thankful I decided to google the reviews for this horrible pill. Like many others, I was on Loryna and getting my rx from cvs until they stopped carrying loryna and made the switch to Nikki. For the last few months, I have been moody, overly anxious, and my skin has been awful. It finally occurred to me that there was a correlation to me feeling this way and when I started Nikki. After reading these reviews and switching my prescription to another pharmacy to be back on loryna, I have noticed a huge difference. I already feel better and back to myself. I truly believe that Nikki was to blame and I’m proud of myself for taking my well being into my own hands and switching pharmacies. Suffice it to say, if you feel like you’re going crazy, you’re not! It is this pill and the manufacturer needs to reassess its effects on women. It did nothing for my PMDD."

For Acne "I have been on Nikki for 3 months now. In the first week or two, I felt nauseous and got headaches a lot. I use it for acne and at first, it made my acne way worse but when I was finishing up the second pack it began to clear up my face. Now my face is pretty clear but I feel tired all the time and have less motivation to do anything but hopefully, this will go away. Overall though I think my experience so far hasn't been too bad on Nikki at least compared to other brands."

For Acne "I went on this pill to help alleviate severe cramps, lighten periods, and improve acne. I originally was on Aviane, but found that its progestin hormone caused acne so I switched to Nikki. While on this pill, my periods were worse than when I was on Aviane. They were heavier, and my cramps were worse--they barely responded to Advil. My acne, however, was totally fine. Honestly, this pill is great for skin and I've noticed a huge positive change; however, I've decided to switch pills due to the other side effects. I've become severely depressed on this pill, irritable all the time, horrible mood swings, and EXTREME fatigue, not to mention loss of sex drive (I NEVER want to have sex anymore--my libido is at 0%). I didn't experience any weight gain or breakthrough bleeding though. I would honestly say it just depends on the person. I thought the side effects would disappear but I've tried this pill for 8 months and no sign of them going away."

For Birth Control "My pharmacy ran out of Ocella so ordered Nikki and I hate it. I've had my period from nearly two months straight. I forgot to take it one day and the next day I immediately took two pills. By the next day I started spotting and have my period ever since. With the exception of the one day I missed I've been taking it as instructed every day at the same time and still I have yet to stop my period."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Yaz but my pharmacy gave me Nikki because it's the brand my insurance would cover. I started on Monday and by Wednesday I was having hot flashes, nausea and diarrhea. I take 10 mg of fluoxetine and it was as if Nikki cancelled it out. Thursday I went into a severe depression. I also have very clear skin and I woke up with cystic bumps and inflammation. I have never had major issues with other brands of birth control so I did some research and talked to a doctor. Nikki is linked to gastrointestinal issues and can trigger a gastritis episode in someone who already has digestive issues. I have been taking 300mg of Ranitidine everyday since March and it doesn't seem to be helping since I started Nikki. I have been unable to work the last 4 days. I discontinued use on Saturday. Do not take it especially if your prone to digestive issues, anxiety and depression! I should have considered the negative reviews beforehand."

For Birth Control "I've been using Nikki for 3 months now. It was working great in the first month. A little period when you take the active white pills. My skin was getting so great and clear, thanks for this pill. The only reason that makes me want to switch to another brand is that this pill decreases my sex drive. I get dry quickly during sex and it's unusual, never happen before to me. I'm looking for another brand right now and hopefully, it doesn't do the same thing."
