"I have been using Intrarosa for 3 days and have been feeling listless, depressed, and anxious. I have anxiety, so don't think this medicine is for me. Had a full hysterectomy 5 years ago, and sex hurts. I tossed the box and am still searching for something that works."

"I was suffering from burning and took Intrarosa 6.5 mg inserts for 1 and 1/2 months. It took about two weeks and worked. Every time you pee, there is oil in the bowl, and you have to wear a pad to save your underwear. To me, that was minor because I no longer burned. I will, however, have to find another solution. I am no longer my 'happy, joyful, energetic, spirited' self. I feel flat, sometimes even bad, yuck?! My boyfriend keeps telling me I'm not myself. For the emotional effect it has had on me, I hope I can find a better solution."

"Yes, it worked, but after only 10 days, I was experiencing sore breasts, acne, mild hot flashes, etc., and jitters. I cut back to once every other day, and that did not really help. I switched to Replens, which is working fine and has no side effects (and less mess). I also became nervous about the long-term effects of this drug. The clinical trials were very small, and it hasn't been in use for very long. And finally - all that damned plastic! A new applicator every time? Why? With Replens, you just wash it in soapy water and let it dry."

"I have used Intrarosa for 9 months because I had vaginal thinning, and I burned down there. I was in so much pain before using Intrarosa. This drug has made my vaginal pH normal, and therefore fewer infections. I’m so happy with this product! Use the coupon with the insurance and only pay $35."

"First night taking Intrarosa, I experienced insomnia, then abdominal cramping around 3 or 4 a.m. Thought maybe I had a stomach flu, but felt better later in the morning. Second night, insomnia again, and woke up at 4 a.m. with severe abdominal cramps… like I was in labor. Pain was so intense I considered going to the hospital, but got better later in the morning. Also had some mild bleeding and decided this was definitely not for me. Stopped taking this, and symptoms went away. Didn’t see any of these symptoms listed as side effects of this drug, but was relieved to see others on this thread experienced the same. Also, expensive."

"Been on Intrarosa for 6 months after 3 years of fighting recurring UTIs and vaginal dryness. Happy to say UTIs are now less of an issue, but have experienced the blahs emotionally and some palpitations. Also, today I woke up with a red, inflamed breast. I am 66 and had my routine mammograms, but this freaks me out a bit. Will see the doctor tomorrow. Not sure if I will continue or not. No history of breast cancer in the family, so not considered an excluded patient. Nothing on the website indicates breast sensitivity... wondering if anyone else has had this issue?"

"I was only able to use Intrarosa for 3 weeks. Too much estrogen! It made my breasts VERY sore and swollen. My emotions were off the charts. Crying one minute and angry the next. I'm not an emotional person. At all. It took 2 months off Intrarosa to feel like myself again. No thank you."

"This is an update to my earlier post in September. I am 58, and it has now been 3 months that I’ve been using Intrarosa for painful intercourse (due to menopause), and I have not experienced any change. I am so disappointed. I had really hoped this would work. I thought I would at least have some reduction in pain by now, but I feel no change. I will continue to use it for 1 more month just to ensure I’ve given it ample time to work, but I’ll discontinue after that if there’s still no change. I have had no side effects at all using the product, and it is so quick and simple to use. I had such optimism when I started using it, and now I’m just feeling really disappointed."

"I have been on Intrarosa for 5 months. There is a very good improvement with my vaginal atrophy/GSM issues. But noticed a severe hair loss. Only now I realized it started very soon, after 5-6 weeks of use. Unfortunately, I did not connect it with this. I stopped 3 days ago. From other reviews, I understand it will take time until my hair will grow back."

"I have been using it now for 3 months, only use 1/2 a night, not the whole. I have noticed being blah. I used to have UTIs every month and have not had one since starting this. I have started to gain weight, but not having a bladder infection is worth it so far. I have had low blood pressure, so I will have to see if it has gone up. The dripping to me is no big deal, it’s just at night for a while. I hate using any drug, so this is hard for me, but I hate UTIs."

"I was prescribed this due to bladder leaking and stool leakage. My doctor told me that I have a minor rectocele, but he felt I was too young for surgery (51). After being on it for two weeks, the bladder leakage is gone, but I was wondering if anyone else is having erotic dreams? FYI, still after 2 1/2 months, I still have the leakage from my bowel. Next week, I will start PT to see if that will help."

"I have been using Intrarosa for a couple of months. I have not noticed any side effects. Before this, sex was so painful it was miserable. Now it has improved somewhat. It still hurts, but not as bad. I’m hoping that with longer use, I will get to a point where it doesn’t hurt."

"It works, but has to be used every single day. It's greasy and drippy, and you have to wear a panty liner all the time. I can't imagine living like this indefinitely. I started cutting the suppository into thirds and just using a third each day. Seems to still be working. I may cut back to a couple times a week and see if that's enough to maintain results. I don't understand why they couldn't have made them smaller and used less oil."

"So I was given this as a trial from my gynecologist. If I am given any medication, I make a point of not reading the side effects because I believe sometimes it can influence me negatively. I only took this one time, and within a few hours, I experienced mild cramping, and I noticed mild spotting. So I searched to see if this was a common side effect and discovered these posts. I understand that every body is different, so I don't want to dissuade anyone else. Needless to say, my trial package went in the trash. I guess I will keep searching for something that will work!"

"I have been using Intrarosa for about 5 months. I think I am having an allergic reaction. There is too much oil running out, sex is still horrible, and I itch on the outside. I use it at bedtime, but if I get dry during the day, I am scratching myself raw. I have been dealing with dryness for 4 years, and I just want it to stop."

"I have had bad luck using other hormone treatments. They tend to cause some pretty bad PMS symptoms, migraines, bleeding, and a high level of agitation. This was supposed to not do that. I tried one dose and already have the lousy headache (I only get this sort of headache when dealing with these hormonal medications or with PMS back in the day.) Maybe I just do not tolerate hormone-type medications, but the cure is much worse than the original problem. I will learn to live with my aging body."

"I have only used Intrarosa for 13 days and am trying to decide whether to purchase it again after so many negative reviews here. I have not had any oily discharge (I use it at night before bed). After insertion, I do not get up out of the bed... I just go to sleep. Not sure if it helps with sex yet since I haven't tried that yet since I wanted to give it time to work. I have no problem opening the insert package. I lay a tissue on the bed and pull down the two flaps with both hands and let the insert fall on the tissue. I have the applicator open to activated and just insert the tab into the applicator. I find it very simple to use. I will report back about if it helped with sex."

"Started using Intrarosa for vaginal dryness, and after a few days, began having some pretty serious anxiety issues and high blood pressure. Never put it together that Intrarosa could be the culprit until now. Stopped using it two days ago, and blood pressure is back to normal and anxious feelings are gone. So glad I found others that had the same issue, and it isn't just me. Will stick with the Monalisa touch and natural lubricants from now on."

"I was on Intrarosa daily for 17 days. The last time I used it, I had vaginal burning and urinary urgency. I also had constant abdominal bloating and gas. I am not taking any other meds, so I suppose it’s this. I have stopped for 2 days and am still having these symptoms."

"65 years old, I have IBS-C and diverticulosis, with vaginal atrophy. Tried Intrarosa for 7 nights, and yes, the 4th day I tried sex, and it was much easier! But, on the 6th night, I was up all night urinating and felt abdominal pressure that urination did not alleviate. I did not sleep a wink, and then the abdominal pain, which occurred on the 7th night almost immediately after insertion, I knew this is N/G for me! I don’t know if it is the oils or hormone that engaged my IBS-C and diverticulosis, but the pain was excruciating! As well as severe urination."

"This Intrarosa worked for me. I question why they only give you 28 inserts for a month's supply. Only one of the 12 months has 28 days, and the cost for this is not cheap. My insurance made this a $35 per month drug."

"I used Intrarosa for only 1 week. I simply could not take the oily discharge and oily residue that was left in my panties. Panty liners and pads would no longer stick to my panties, and the oily residue passed through to my pants and ruined a pair of my pants. I attempted to launder my panties but could not get the residue out (I tried Dawn dishwashing liquid also). After washing and drying my panties, the oily residue 'hardened and stiffened' my panties. I threw them all away. I just felt very unclean and oily from the discharge while using Intrarosa."

"I have been on Intrarosa for 3 months now, very little improvement with my vaginal atrophy/GSM issues. No side effects noticed, and I am one who is very sensitive to meds. I will say if you try it, make sure you put it in right before bed. I got up to pee after I had it in about 45 minutes, and it fell out into the toilet. It's not working for me, I will be switching to Yuvafem Estradiol Vaginal Tablet tomorrow. I did have a $35.00 month coupon from Dr. for Intrarosa."

"It was okay as a medicine, but not better than Vagifem. The packaging was awful - a struggle to get the foil peeled down enough to use. I did not like having to use it nightly. The carrier substance (something oil-based, I think) soaked into my underwear and wouldn't wash out, leaving the fabric stiff. I didn't see any benefits over the twice-weekly small tablet (Vagifem)."

"I only rated this a 9 just due to the fact that I haven't had sex with it yet. I get aroused when situations arise, just haven't had full intercourse. My vaginal wall was so thin it flaked during medical exams. After just 2 months on Intrarosa, my vaginal wall is strong and healthy. Looking forward to experiencing sex again. Did have some hair loss at first, but that has stopped. Love this product. I am not sure if the vitamin E suppositories make the body naturally produce estrogen and progesterone, so I would say I'll stick to this product. Happy patient."
