For Alcohol Withdrawal "Had been drinking in excess of 15-20 cans of beer a day for as long as I can remember. No appetite, losing weight, and throwing up every morning. Went through DT's last year - horrendous - sweats, shakes, hallucinations. I had Librium, but it was too little, too late, and I fell off the wagon very quickly. Finally had enough and went to see my doctor with the support of my wife. I have been on a reducing dose of Librium for a week now and never felt better. I am eating well, sleeping well, not throwing up every day, and feeling more positive than I have for a long time. I am drinking flavored water and feeling good. I am going to concentrate on getting fit. Thanks to family, friends, and GP for help and support."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Was a daily alcohol drinker for 2 years straight. Tried to quit on my own but got horrible withdrawals...sweating, shaking, insomnia, crippling anxiety. Went to my doctor and was prescribed Librium 10mg 3x a day for 10 days. I’m now on day 7 and I feel amazing! It can make me super tired at times but that beats having insomnia! My appetite is back to normal, I have no anxiety, my hands are still a little shaky but that’s okay! Librium saved my life!"

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I've been a heavy drinker for all my adult life, and a mother of 3. Ended up extremely depressed as just could not stop. Ended up in hospital as took overdose as just couldn't cope with the addiction anymore. 20 years of it. Glad I did it though as now am getting the help I so need. Started on Librium 4 days ago, and have a nurse visit me at home daily. It is working wonders for me. Still dry heave and slightly shake and sweat, the second night was awful as had awful dreams and was seeing stuff, but WOW now what a huge difference. Recommend it highly, it's helping me and my family so so much. Just hope myself and all of the above keep up the good work! Good luck to you all."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "About a year ago I did a 30-day in-house rehab for alcohol. Worked great, sober for 6 months. Then slowly began to relapse. 1 year later, back to a fifth of vodka a day for the last three months. If I didn't have a drink upon waking, I would dry heave, shake, sweat. Snuck vodka at work in a water bottle, sipped all. I began losing bowel and bladder control. That's when I got scared. Couldn't afford in-house detox, so I got a script for Librium. 100mg 4x a day on Day 1, which was pretty rough. No dry heaving though, which was a relief. Still pretty shaky. Day 2, 25 every 4 hours. Shakes were much better, appetite returning. Day 3, 25 twice daily in the morning and bedtime. Feel remarkable. No desire to drink. Eating healthy and feel myself getting stronger. Librium saved my life."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I was drinking the 720 ml every 24 hrs. of Captain Morgan rum, that's the largest bottle they sell. I was spending over $750 a month. I was given Librium to take 3 times a day. The first day, I still went through some light withdrawals, mainly the shakes. Usually, the withdrawals were shakes, bad difficulty breathing, throwing up, light-headed, feet and hands going numb, blood pressure skyrocketing, and super bad headaches. That first day was just shakes, I had already even lost the impulse to go and buy some. Day 2, I only took 2. Day 3, I only had to take 1. I took 1 every 24 hrs the next 4 days and no longer needed them. It was very effective for me. Anyone who wants to quit, that's a good way to go. Be responsible though."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "This drug got me off alcohol and all the withdrawal symptoms in 3 days. I never would have expected such quick results. If you need help with the tremors, anxiety, vomiting, and irritability, please ask your doctor for a prescription. I was taking 10mg 3x per day, and it was a miracle."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I was drinking for 4 years and tried numerous rehab centers, all of which did not believe in providing drugs, just vitamins. I tried to stop on my own the other day and sat in the living room shaking and shivering. I finally went to my doctor yesterday and he prescribed Librium to help with the shakes and anxiety. Day 2 and feeling much better. The drug works for the shakes and pain of withdrawal. I know I have a long road ahead to actually clean up my act, but the drug is a great start to dealing with the discomfort. I tried to write on my computer yesterday but the shakes would not allow me to make any sense, today, I can write with fairly good ability. The Librium definitely helps. Good luck everyone in recovery, it can be a struggle."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "At 42 years old, I was drinking a fifth of tequila every day even though I have pancreatitis. I lost my job because I couldn't stop drinking because when I did stop, I got the shakes, nausea, and seizures. Thankfully, Librium was the drug that helped me stop and quit this vicious cycle of drinking."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Was a 2.5/3 pint a day vodka drinker for 3 years. I'd medicate on it. 2 or 3 shots every couple of hours around the clock. I started needing the vodka to stay asleep at night. I'd wake up with the pounding heart and shakes. And my guts were sour (constant diarrhea). I couldn't go more than 3 hours without it or I'd go into full-blown paranoia and anxiety attacks. I'm afraid of drugs. I hate pharmaceuticals. And I was done drinking, so I tried to wean myself over and over again and failed hard. Finally broke down and went to detox. Librium was their go-to. The stuff is amazing. Made detox a breeze, to be honest. I wasn't even tired on it. I felt normal, to be honest. No shakes, no paranoia, slept good (vivid dreams). 25 mg 3 times a day for 10 days."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I detoxed once inpatient and was given Librium in unknown amounts. I relapsed a few months later, back to drinking a bottle of vodka every two days. I went to a substance abuse doctor who said I could safely do it at home. Took 50mg right away, 50mg that night. 75mg day 2, 50mg day 3 and 25mg day 4. Those were taken at once either in the morning or at night. I did morning because throwing up and shakes were the worst part of the withdrawal. Working like a charm. Highly recommend to anyone. I tried cold turkey and that's how I ended up inpatient the first time because I was dangerously sick by day 3. Librium is a Godsend for withdrawal."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Been through alcohol withdrawal several times, and the anxiety/panic attacks, sweats, shakes, and convulsions are just hell. Last time was so bad I ended up in the ER. They gave me some Librium, and wow. Who knew that this could make it so easy? I sailed through my withdrawal. Have joined AA now, never again."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I was administered this drug at the beginning of a 28-day residential detox/rehab for alcohol. It stopped the tremors and shakes. But not the other withdrawal symptoms such as the sweats, which did subside. However, it took slightly longer to bring back the coordination in my legs. I was advised that this had something to do with the receptors in my brain repairing. Until it was brought to my attention, I didn't know how much alcohol affected the brain and its normal function with the rest of the human body."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "My uncle was drinking for over 35 years, and after detoxing once before, he was doing considerably well. Things took a downhill turn for him, and it took us a while to get him the right kind of help. Librium is the way to go. He went from convulsions, shakes, hallucinations to a few minor discomforts. By now, even those are gone. God bless every one of you looking for a way out. It is out there, but you must believe in yourself 100%."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I was in withdrawal one and a half days when I started shaking and feeling anxious. Having already had several seizures due to alcohol, I went to my GP, who prescribed Librium. Symptoms almost stopped completely after one day and after that, no symptoms at all. Don't try to stop yourself, it's dangerous and could cost you your life."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "When I fell off the wagon, I was dreading another trip to the ER when I sobered up. I saw my doctor, and he prescribed this, and it helped immensely. I have really bad panic attacks, and my blood pressure skyrockets, along with nausea, shakes, sweats, etc. This medicine helped get me off booze twice. Recommended."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I had been drinking the equivalent of a bottle of gin a day for the last 4 weeks. I'm an alcoholic who had managed to quit 4 years ago but had a serious relapse. I tried tapering down the booze, but I felt like I was losing my mind with the stuff. I wanted to go cold turkey, but the withdrawals were utterly horrific - I've never felt so dreadful, the depression was indescribable. I was worried I was actually going clinically insane. I got an appointment with my doctor, and he gave me a Librium prescription. On the first morning of taking the pills, I could have cried with relief at how much better the Librium made me feel - I almost felt 'normal' even though I was starting the cold turkey/withdrawal process. No shakes, no anxiety, no dread."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I have serious issues with relapse. Do six months to a year, then break out. Have a lovely doctor who gave me Librium, and it helps. Makes me dopey, but the sweating, the shakes, the empty retching all abated. Really need to do it this time. I'm so tired of relapsing."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Unfortunately, I am a chronic relapser and have had many alcohol-withdrawal related seizures in the past. Every time I have gone to the hospital, they have given me Librium, and it absolutely took away all my withdrawal symptoms. No more sweating, shaking, or vomiting. I have asked several doctors in the past to prescribe Librium to me, but they have all said that it should be administered at a hospital where I could be monitored. This time around, however, the hospital sent me home after 7 hrs and gave me a script for 6-25 mg. I only took 5 and experienced no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever, and I was a liter of vodka/day drinker. Highly recommend Librium."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "My heart goes out to anybody who has or is going through the real horrendous side of drink, the sweats, shakes, delirium. There is help (chlordiazepoxide), it WILL help you if you really want to quit. P.S.: The max (Librium) dose is 25 mg per day (5x5) mg."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "First time I went to an inpatient rehab, thought I was going to die. I was so sick, shaking uncontrollably, near hallucinating, and they gave me two tablets of which mg I don't know, and it worked wonders! I took what I imagine to be 25 mg every 4-6 hours after that, and within 3 days felt great, stayed there 5 days, and at day 4, I was ready to get out of there. Unfortunately, I relapsed and binged for a month. This time I did it outpatient, and the Dr. gave me 25 mg tabs, which I took 1 every 4-6 hours the first day, and it immediately made me feel 10 times better. Overall, the course of 5 days I slowly tapered off, and it's what I recommend to anyone withdrawing from the sauce."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I have been an occasional binge drinker for years, going on 2-3 day tangents. The next day, I have gotten the shakes very badly. My doctor gave me Librium, which really helped at one time, but it seems throughout the years I need a larger dose now. What usually works is in the am as soon as I wake up, I take one 25 mg pill. 2 hours later, another 25 mg pill, then about 4 hours after that, another, 4 hours later, another. So that would be 100 mg the first day. This is on the day after drinking. On the 2nd day, I usually only need one or two 25 mg pills, then I'm fine. I'm tired of going through this, think I'll start AA today or tomorrow. Nothing feels worse than a hangover! Drinking doesn't solve your problems!"

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Recently went through another huge bender and decided enough was enough and I needed to quit drinking for good. I had cold turkey'd twice in the past with some rough times, but nothing big, so I figured, why not taper? I messed up, and it just led to bad WDs. Shaking, sweating, anxiety, racing heart, spasms while trying to sleep that kept me up for days. I finally hit my breaking point and went into a hospital and got help. I was scared as well about how bad I was. Both other times I quit were never like this. I was, of course, put on a drip, but I walked out with a bottle of these and instructions on the day-by-day dosage. So far, it's only been a few days, but all of those nightmare WD symptoms went poof. I now am committed to never drinking again, am finding a support group, and I can say this drug will absolutely assist you during bad WDs."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I was in the ER for alcohol poisoning. Level of 400. I was given 25 milligrams of Librium. 1 to 2 pills every 6 hours. I was still very sick with shakes and major sweats even after 3 days. Don't understand how these people say that the withdrawal was gone. Even on the med, I laid in bed for 4 days sick as a dog. It has kept me from having seizures, but I've suffered horribly."
