For Alcohol Withdrawal "Having had a serious addiction to alcohol for 8 years, and oscillated between sobriety and extreme alcoholism, I have had Librium on more occasions than I wish to remember. Under NO condition self-detox or go cold turkey. It's not like what you see in the media about locking a heroin addict in a room for 3 days of hell and then they are fine. Alcohol withdrawals will KILL you. I have tapered myself on several occasions, and suffered seizures, extreme sickness, sweats etc. Librium won't cure you of the disease, but will stop you from dying when trying to get sober. Every time you have to detox, your body becomes a bit more used to Librium, and your detox is longer."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Alcohol withdrawal can cost your life! I have been in 4 detoxes in 8 months. I drink a gallon, sometimes more, of vodka a day. One detox was in January for 7 days, one at the end of April for 3 days, one in June for 5 days, and one in July for 5 days. Librium works wonders. The reason the days spent in detox depend on the AMA policy. Do not do this on your own. I have had seizures, convulsions, hallucinations, DTs, it's no joke. Go to your doctor, tell him/her what's going on. I drank extremely heavily, and I was prescribed 75mg every four hours on day 1, then 50mg every 4 hours on day 2, then 25mg every 4 hours on day 3, then 25mg every 8 hours on day 4, then 25mg before bed on day 5. The only way to tackle alcohol withdrawal is with Librium."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I'm a 28-year-old male who fell in love with alcohol at around 17, drinking with friends, having fun. I noticed I had a problem when I found myself drinking alone every day, daydreaming about how great life was going to be when I quit drinking, and how easy it would be. Boy, was I wrong. Drinking anything I could get my hands on, the cheap high-percentage stuff, beer runs, vanilla extract, etc. Not eating because the fear of losing the buzz or easier to catch one. Then I started having seizures (about 10) when I'd stop. Straight frightening. I'd claim to have 'epilepsy,' denying it was the booze. I've been to countless detoxes and rehabs but never took quitting seriously. This time around, my doc prescribed me Librium 10 mg, and it's good, I suppose. No seizures. Day 12 without a drop. I pray for everyone going through all the symptoms of withdrawing. It's no joke."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I am 22 and have been a very heavy drinker since age 15. I have not gone more than about three days at a time without drinking. Never a couple, every time to the point of being drunk. The past few weeks, I went on a bender with very little sleep and drinking every day. Two days ago, I went into a seizure at work. I was sent to the ER, where the doctor told me my alcohol levels were so high he didn't know how someone my age could tolerate that amount of consumption. He gave me a script for Librium and sent me home. I had one more seizure waiting for the pills. Since then, they have kept my symptoms so manageable that I can function. Thank God for this medication. I feel I would die without it."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "At 42 years old, I was drinking a fifth of tequila every day even though I have pancreatitis. I lost my job because I couldn't stop drinking because when I did stop, I got the shakes, nausea, and seizures. Thankfully, Librium was the drug that helped me stop and quit this vicious cycle of drinking."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Been through alcohol withdrawal several times, and the anxiety/panic attacks, sweats, shakes, and convulsions are just hell. Last time was so bad I ended up in the ER. They gave me some Librium, and wow. Who knew that this could make it so easy? I sailed through my withdrawal. Have joined AA now, never again."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I have detoxed several times from alcohol over my 25-year drinking career, a couple of times cold turkey, which led to seizures. Librium has always helped. In the detox centers, they would give me 25 mg every two hours that first day with a doctor on site. At home, I was prescribed 25 mg every 4 hours. Don't do it alone, it could be deadly."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "My uncle was drinking for over 35 years, and after detoxing once before, he was doing considerably well. Things took a downhill turn for him, and it took us a while to get him the right kind of help. Librium is the way to go. He went from convulsions, shakes, hallucinations to a few minor discomforts. By now, even those are gone. God bless every one of you looking for a way out. It is out there, but you must believe in yourself 100%."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I've been drinking for about three years now! To try and take away the depression and anxiety. (I do realize drink is the worst thing to medicate with.) As I write this, I had just woken up on my back, vomiting. Four-day drinking session. Not a morsel of food passed my lips. 25/30 cans of Guinness per day. I've lost the ability to walk properly. For several years now, when I stand up, my legs just buckle. I take diazepam too. They are of no help anymore! I was taken into the hospital two months ago. Family had rung an ambulance. I had alcohol poisoning and took a seizure. Librium really helped with the withdrawals in the hospital. I wish any of you suffering all the very best! Alcohol dependency is such a lonely road to walk."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I am in my 40s. Struggled with alcohol since my mid-20s. I was up to about half a large bottle of vodka a day. When I tried to stop, I had hallucinations and four seizures. My legs were bucking. After a stay at the hospital, I was prescribed Librium. I think it saved my life."
