Carisoprodol for Muscle Spasm "I suffered major injuries in a motorcycle wreck. Was in and out of a coma for 6 months. Doctor was able to save my leg, took a year before I could walk again. The muscle spasms were nonstop, as well as the pain. Went through 10 years of testing before I was placed on a drug treatment program that actually worked, felt like a lab rat. Have been on Soma and Tylenol/Acetaminophen for now 30 years. It keeps my pain and muscle spasms at a level I can tolerate and take care of myself."

For Muscle Spasm "I have been taking carisoprodol for 32 years. I tried Flexeril, but I felt like I'd drunk several cups of coffee after I took it. I have had fibromyalgia for 50+ years. I get terrible tension headaches and muscle spasms in the back of my neck. Tried Botox injections with no success. The name brand (Soma) worked for me. My insurance used to cover the name brand and the generic, but Medicare doesn't. I have found some of the generics to be ineffective, particularly one made by Sun Pharma. This drug is a placebo as far as I'm concerned. I find the one marked DAN 5513 (Watson Labs) works well. The one marked 2410 (Vintage Pharmaceuticals) works for me, too. The last refill I got is marked CL 022. That one is barely effective."

For Muscle Spasm "I have been using Soma off and on for about twenty years for my degenerative disc disease. I had severe muscle spasms in my back and did not know until about three years ago that I have degenerative disc disease. Soma helps because it relieves the muscle cramping, which helps my body relax in other ways. This leads to overall pain relief that lasts longer than other meds I have tried. My insurance covers Soma, however, they require an authorization every single time I fill. At $29.95 for 90 pills, it is easier for me to simply pay for it. My doctor allows 2 refills and requires an office visit every three months to remain on it. She is diligent and has never stopped trying to help me find ways to deal with chronic pain. The Soma is part of an overall pain management regimen."

For Muscle Spasm "I have fibromyalgia. Bulging disc C2-C7 spinal neuroapthy. Stenosis. Plantar fasciitis, severe migraines. Lost my last job, could not take opioids or Xanax to stop pain and clear fibro fog. Had been in a bad accident in 1995. Pain level 10. Pain clinic doctor just told me to stop soma since I'm on opioids and morphine. Started tapering off. My MD told me yesterday soma is not going to be prescribed anymore. I haven't been having withdrawals, but my spasms are back to a 10. My sleep is disrupted again, and my sciatica is tightening up. I will be taking the new muscle relaxers, but nothing but soma and Zanaflex combined totally stopped spasms. I will take as prescribed, but it is taking the effectiveness of my pain meds. I also have depression, anxiety, panic, and PTSD."

For Muscle Spasm "In 1990 with DDD of L4, L5, and C3. I have a lot of sciatic pain, neck and back spasms. My ortho put me on Soma 350 2x/day. I had 2 disc fusions done (L5 and C3). I had to start going to P.M. in 1998, they put me on Morphine Sulfate 30 mg ER 2x/day and Soma 2x/day. Since 2008 I've been disabled, my body has been like a domino effect. I have osteoarthritis throughout my body, DDD, fibromyalgia, and nephropathy all extremities so bad that I've been on the same meds, except both were 3x/day since 2011 up until less than 2 months ago. I had to change P.M. Dr, and this Dr is trying to kill me with a med called 'Embeda.' It has naltrexone hydrochloride in it!!! DO NOT TAKE until you read all about it!! Along with no more Soma or any muscle relaxant."

For Muscle Spasm "Yes, Carisoprodol is the best relaxant I've ever had. Two weeks after cervical spine surgery, a rear-end collision (I was a belted passenger) damaged another nerve in my neck (and arm) plus my lumbar spine. I have been taking up to four a day for eight years now. When I first began taking it, I felt woozy and sleepy, so I cut it in half. Once my body got used to it, I was able to take the whole tablet plus 20 mg of oxycodone, which gave me much better relief from severe pain and spasms. The only withdrawal I've had was more pain and spasms when I forgot to take it."

For Muscle Spasm "I have been taking Soma for 7 years now. It is a long time, I know, but if it wasn't for it, I wouldn't have my life back somewhat. I have a neurological pain disease that tells my mind that past injuries still hurt, which causes pain and muscle spasms. This medication actually helps more than my pain medications."

For Muscle Spasm "When I was able to get Soma, I had a good life. Owned my own business, was able to do almost anything. Haven't been able to get it now for years. Am 64 years old, I'm in constant pain and have COPD. Sometimes I cough so hard for a long time. This causes extreme muscle spasms, have had to call 911 because of the spasms! Am allergic to Aspirin and NSAIDs. Flexeril is a waste of time. A few times, the doctor gave me something I was allergic to, and another time I was cracking up for a bit, then crying and couldn't stop. It's simply abusive, and Suboxone one doctor gave me the films. Well, if I didn't get out of bed and outside to raise my blood pressure, bye bye bye!!!"

For Muscle Spasm "The carisoprodol 350 mgs is not strong, as I'm supposed to take 1 every 12 hrs, and I feel I need to take more just to get some relief from spasms."

Carisoprodol for Muscle Spasm "I have been prescribed Soma for over 20 years. I was first prescribed 180 a month, and due to all the controversy over the medication with people taking it wrong or not being prescribed it for them, my doctor has gotten me all the way down to 120 a month, with each new month getting less and less until I won't be able to get them anymore. The reason I have been on them and my Lortab or Norco for so long is because I have had 3 back surgeries, and they still want to do more, 2 neck surgeries, 4 shoulder surgeries (2 on each), and carpal tunnel surgery on both hands. These meds have always worked, and I do not want to be on anything stronger that I could get seriously addicted to, like Oxy's, etc. If I don't have my Soma, my spasms are painful."
