"It works great because you don’t want the cigarettes. But further along you cant trust yourself to smoke just one. Stay true to your commitment. You worked to hard. Don’t let that friend influence you"

"I was prescribed wellbutrin XL for anxiety and to quit smoking. The first 3 days I felt very energetic, productive, but had some insomnia. After day 4 I was fine. Day 9 I was finished with smoking. I was smoking out of habit. If it was there, I wanted one. I threw them in the garbage and have had NO CRAVINGS! if they were in front of me, I'd probably want one out of habit. But I feel totally fine without them. It a miracle!!!"

"I was a smoker for 35 years, I took 150 mg of Bupropion for 3 days and 300 mg for 2 more and decided to quit on day 5. It still took effort on my part but the Bupropion was extremely helpful with the withdrawals. I am now on day 35 and I continue to be a nonsmoker. I have had a few side effects such as slight insomnia and night sweats. Interestingly if you review nicotine withdrawal side effects, they are similar. I have been in a good mood since taking this medication. My doctor plans to keep me on this for the next 3 months to insure all of the nicotine is out of my system. Overall - Very positive experience."

"I started smoking when I was 15. I am now 40. I tried many, many times to quit smoking and the only time I was successful was when I was pregnant with my son and daughter. I went right back to smoking after each birth. Last winter I noticed I would wake up coughing, sometimes so hard I couldn't catch my breath and my eyes watered. Finally, in March I asked my doctor for help. I started on 150mg bupropion once a day and didn't notice a difference for the first week. The second week I noticed that I wasn't smoking when I normally did (while driving, in the morning with coffee, after meals). Then one day I lit up and it tasted absolutely horrid. I literally threw my pack in the trash and haven't looked back. The smell alone makes me sick. :)"

"I have been on bupropion for 8 days and I have to say this pill is short of a miracle. The first 3 days, instead of smoking, I used the patch. Since that day I have gone nicotine free. A few side affects are I'm a little foggy brained, my hands are shaking and I'm awake between 3-4 every morning however last night I was able to fall back asleep within an hour where usually I couldn't so that may be going away, fingers crossed. Overall highly recommended"

"I originally got it prescribed for depression. My doctor very casually mentioned that it would also help me quit smoking. I didn't think much of it except, "Yeah right... As long as it cures my depression." After 3 days of taking it, I didn't smoke a cigarette from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm (I usually smoked every 1 or 2 hours). By then, I realized that I hadn't smoked the whole time. I had completely forgotten that the medicine also reduced cigarette cravings. On the fourth day, I was only smoking 1/4 of what I usually did, and after I week I quit altogether."

"I'm one of those people that thought I'd never quit smoking. 20 yrs. My doctor put me on nicotine patches, which I used in both of my previous attempts, but added Bupropion 150mg 2x/day. The 1st wk contained the most side effects for me. I became almost manic. If my body wasn't moving, my mind was racing. This actually did not bother me. I channeled the energy into constructive projects around the house. I did struggle with the habit itself mentally but had no cravings, even around smokers. Just had to figure out what people DO if they don't smoke! Had some dizziness here and there, but nothing that would make me stumble or need to sit. Fleeting. My libido actually increased. I lost weight (another bonus). Miracle pill for me!"

"Bupropion is a miracle! I still had some cravings, a little irritability, a few depressing nightmares- but I quit! I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day for a decade. I have not had a cigarette in over a month, and live with people that smoke in the house. No patches, no gimmicks, just plugging through it with bupropion. I would recommend giving this a go to anyone."

"I have been smoking since I was 13 I'm 33 now. I literally feel rough when I wake up rough all day, smell horrible from the smoke, and wanted to quit for my son who is gonna be 2 in April. One of my friends had used this and got with me on facebook to tell me about it she said she had some stuff that helped her to stop smoking. I was like I will try it. I've tried quitting cold turkey, patches, all of it but nothing seemed to work for me. I started taking these pills yesterday (dr's permission). I took 2 yesterday and woke up this morning and didn't want a cigarette but I literally smoked the last one in my pack because it was there not because I wanted it. 2 things, that cigarette tasted horrible and 2 if I do not see them I won't want them. After I smoked that 1 I went took 2 more brushed my teeth and showered to get the final smoke smell off me. So far it is helping I feel. No craving there for one do not want one literally this pill is a life saver and so is my friend for sharing."

Zyban (bupropion) "Do not take this drug. My husband took this to help with smoking cessation. During the entire time, he had bad dreams, but during the fifth week he dreamed he was jumping off a boat, jumped off the bed and crashed to the floor, fracturing his left shoulder and badly bruising his left hip. After four days of extensive testing in the hospital, the doctors concluded the "fall" was from Zyban. Terrible terrible pain and very scary."

Zyban (bupropion) "After trying many things, such as chewing gum, patches, hypnosis etc., to stop smoking, I took zyban in June 2000. Before the end of the course I had stopped craving cigarettes and became a non-smoker. It took 9 days and I had no side effects at all. It was the best thing I'd ever done."

"Today I was looking up the side effects of Bupropion HCL 150mg. two a day. I have been taking this for depression & have found it working. I have the ability now to diet & exercize & I want to interact more. So, as I am reading the side effects I notice that its also used to stop smoking. I didn't know this. I have smoked for 30 yrs aprox & thought I had just stopped smoking for no reason & without even trying. I wondered why I had almost no interest in cigarettes any more, some days even forgetting to have a cigarette! If I do smoke it's just 1 or 2 in the evening & not every day and the feeling I have is not at all a craving. It's more like I will myself to have a smoke because it's what I do (habit), but I don't need one & hardly even want it!"

Zyban (bupropion) "I found Zyban to be very effective and easy to use. I only experienced a few mild side effects (slight constipation, food tasted a bit different). But I'd tried quitting before using gum, microtabs, patches - and none of these worked for me. Thanks to Zyban, it's been over four months since I smoked a cigarette and haven't turned back - proud to be a non-smoker!"

"I just started taking Wellbutrin XL 150mg 4 one week then 300mg after the 1st week. Never liked 2 mix any meds with my pain meds (too scared) but I have to stop smoking cigarettes. I also need to lose 60 lbs so I can get this surgery. Hopefully I'll be successful. I'll definitely check back in & let you'll know what happens. Pray 4 me."

Zyban (bupropion) "I will admit that the drug helps you quit. Unfortunately I probably slept only a couple of hours a night while I was taking the drug. It all came to a head when I had a seizure at work and fortunately my colleague found me under my desk convulsing and luckily I didn't choke myself with my tie. Scary times."

Zyban (bupropion) "Okay, so I started taking this to assist me in quitting tobacco. You do have to WANT to quit but a lot of people have the effect where one day cigarettes taste like licking a dumpster. My brother quit overnight due to this effect alone. Now as for me I was hoping so bad that would happen it hasn't and I'm still smoking but I've cut back and now I realize this drug has made the nicking go away completely; now it is all habitual. My husband smokes so it's around.......he's going to quit next week. I went on a 7 hour airplane trip with my sleep deprived toddler. Absolutely no nicking; this drug is phenomenal in that way. I'm hoping the taste effect may still happen for me. I'm losing 6 lbs a week though. I do have GAD also."

"Today is day 2 of bupropion 150x1 and continue this for 1 week then move up to 300mg mornings, I'm trying to give up smoking. I am a very heavy sleeper and need 8 hours to have a good day. Last night I woke several times and hard to go back to sleep. I had to start counting until I fell back asleep. I have seen it should take at least a week to see/feel a change. I have a low tolerance for medication as well. I was diagnosed with depression, I have low libido, I smoke, overweight and lack of motivation to do stuff around the house. I also have already noticed a change in smoking less and eating less in 2 days. I will try to make another review after 1-3 months as an update."

"I smoked 35 years before started on Bupropion. I took 150 mg for 3 days, then took 300 mg for 6 weeks, I quit on day 5. Quitting was pretty easy, the medication changes the way the cigarettes taste and also you will legitimately forget to smoke. When I went to stop the Bupropion I eased it back to 150 mg for 3 days and then 150 mg every 2 days for 6 days and 150 mg every 3 days for 6 days. I had no withdrawals from this drug. I have successfully quit smoking for 4 months now. I think about them less and less and have had no physical urges to smoke since the first week I quit. The Bupropion worked great, my daughter has also quit using this medication. Highly recommend."

Zyban (bupropion) "I used to smoke at least 2 packets per day for almost 20 years. I severally tried to quit without sucess. It was in 2001 while visiting a doctor friend when I learnt about the wonder drug zyban and decided to give it a try. I took 1 tablet per day for 1 week and has never looked back. No claving and no side effects. After 1 week of no smoking at all, I gave the rest of the medication to a friend. The way I think zyban has a degree of success is when an individual also desires and is determined to quit. All I needed was 3 days of no smoking"

Zyban (bupropion) "I tried to quit on many occasions prior to using Zyban. My friend who smoked 2 packs a day quit using this drug which totally amazed me. I am a very cheap person and when a carton of generic cigarettes went up to $15.00 (which by todays prices is cheap, but not then) I swore I had wasted enough money harming my lungs. I started Zyban and set my quit date for 2 weeks. On the last day before that date, I was sitting around and realized I had not had a cigarette all day, and I haven't had one since. That was 19 years ago. I would highly recommend Zyban to quit smoking now before any more damage is done to your lungs. The cost of the medicine is no more than the cost of a carton of cigarettes for a month."

"Started smoking when I was 15 years old, and I'm 35 now. I started taking Wellbutrin SR 150mg 2 times a day. By day 3 I noticed while I was smoking a cigarette I was thinking to myself, wow I'm still not done with it yet. Wellbutrin started working after just days with me. I did have some side effects and thought I was going to have to stop the pill. But after a week the side effects went away and I quit smoking after day 8 on the Wellbutrin. I probably could still be smoking if I went and bought a pack and had them in front of me. I'm on day 3 not smoking and that's good for me because I could have never done this with Zyban! Good luck"

"I'm currently on day 4 of taking the generic Wellbutrin 150 mg. I was put on it to try and quit smoking because my insurance wouldn't cover chantix..Anyways I was very scared when I read side effects and I've never taken any kind of med like this before..but I'm currently loving how this medicine is working for me. The pharmacy told me to take it at bedtime..that only lasted the 1st night as I was up until after 4 am but now that I take it first thing in the morning it's fantastic. .I've never felt like I've had so much energy in my life and I'm actually down 6 lbs only 4 days in..(still have alot of baby weight to lose). I am still smoking but notice the urge decreasing!!"

"I was actually prescribed this for anxiety and noticed that I stopped even thinking about having a cigarette (mind you I only smoked 2 to 3 cigarettes a day) but I just stopped craving them all together. Even my husband noticed. I started to research why this was happening and the only thing I could think of was it must be the new medicine the doctor put me on? I looked it up, Wellbutrin was in fact also used for quitting smoking! My doctor didn’t even know that I smoke because I did it so rarely and sporadically."

"I've been smoke-free for 3 months now, thanks to Bupropion. I smoked for 22 years and was never able to quit for more than 3 days. I was ready to quit, but I knew I needed help. My Dr. suggested Wellbutrin. I got a prescription for Bupropion. The first few days I had a lot of cravings but stayed focused. After 4 days I noticed that it was actually easier to get through each craving. After 2 weeks, I didn't really think about cigarettes very much. Now, 3 months later, I hardly think about smoking, and if I do, it passes within a millisecond. Quitting is hard, but Bupropion made it easier to get through, and I feel happier too. I would definitely suggest this drug for anyone trying to quit smoking."

"I love this drug for several reasons: it really helps with my anxiety and depression AND seriously helped me quit smoking. I take 100mg twice daily and it is the SR. The first few days it didn't change the way cigarettes tasted or the way they made me feel but that app changed on the 5th day. I lit up and it tasted absolutely terrible that I couldn't take more than 2 drags. I had a small road trip the next morning and out of pure habit, lit up in my car and same thing! It's the nastiest taste! It's been weeks now and I seriously don't even think about smoking anymore(only when I think about how happy I am that I finally quit). It's a really fantastic drug but you also have to have the desire to quit and it will do wonders!"
