Zyban (bupropion) "Smoked 30 years. Took Zyban while smoking for a couple weeks and kind of just forgot that I ever smoked. Mentally it made me nauseous to even think of a cigarette. Never looked back. It's been 20 years and the funny thing is that while I could never smoke a cigarette, I've tried a couple times just for fun and YUK, I can occasionally smoke a cigar. Not sure why but I will say, Zyban will kill cigarette addiction. Of course, you can find reasons to start again but it will be very difficult after Zyban. Worked the same for my wife. Do It !!"

Zyban (bupropion) "Absolutely miracle med for smoking cessation! I smoked for 15 years (anywhere from 2-4 packs/day). Had the attitude, 'if I quit, I quit; if I don't, I don't'. Within 10 days, I stopped. I did experience a few side effects that were no big deal (insomnia, funny taste in mouth). I didn't have a 'stop-date', just one day I lit a cigarette, took about three drags, then put it out. That was 14 years ago. Took me about 5 years to say I quit - I always said, 'I haven't had a cigarette in a while'. I still have my half carton as my trophy ;-)"

Zyban (bupropion) "I went to my doctor and requested a totally different medication. Medication to give me energy which support my quitting and keep me from putting on weight. Well, he decided to give me Zyban. Zyban gave me the energy I needed to exercise, stay alert, keep my mind off the cravings, and eat a healthy diet. I lost weight on Zyban. After 2 weeks smoking with the medication, I had my last smoke. The cravings were incredibly minimal. Yes, I still thought about smoking and I still do. But the cravings were bearable. I could manage. They were easy! Zyban made me realize quitting smoking is easy and can be done. I urge you to try if you haven't before. No negative feedback whatsoever on this drug."

Zyban (bupropion) "Smoked for 40+ years. Tried all the patches, vitamin B shots, hypnosis, all of which did not work. Took Zyban as soon as it was available by prescription, and both my wife and I quit smoking in less than a week. Final smoke was in September 1998."

Zyban (bupropion) "Zyban is amazing! I started taking Zyban 18 days ago, though it took me longer than what it said to quit, I finally quit 4 days ago, and I feel great. I tried Champix and had a bad reaction to it, the patches the same. I also have quit cold turkey. But with Zyban, there is no urge or cravings. The only time I think about having a cigarette is when I have idle time, but I have found ways to keep myself busy doing other things. Thanks to Zyban- it's a great medication that really works!"

Zyban (bupropion) "I wasn't sure if I wanted to quit or not, and the first few days on Zyban weren't great. I was in a horrible mood and was convinced the pills weren't going to do anything. Continued smoking like normal and on the eighth day of taking the meds, I took a few drags and knew it would be my last one. It was like something just clicked in my brain. Have been using zero-nicotine liquid in a vaporizer a few times a day just for the menthol sensation, but other than that I haven't had a cigarette since!"

Zyban (bupropion) "After 25 years of heavy smoking, I quit in five days! (Though I enjoyed smoking so much!) This happened 13 years ago. Since then - no cravings. My husband followed my example: the same result seven days later."

"I was very skittish about taking Welllbutrin because I didn't want to be "labeled" as someone who took an antidepressant medication. After coming to terms with it, I started taking the Wellbutrin 6 days ago. I've been smoking as I usually do, but am finding myself wanting that cigarette less and less and it almost felt like I was just smoking because the clock said it was time to do so . Suddenly, Today, I am really not wanting to smoke at all. I will probably stay on Wellbutrin for another couple of weeks to ensure that I can be successful with being a non-smoker. I would recommend Wellbutrin as a stop-smoking aid. It certainly has helped me!"

Zyban (bupropion) "I'm taking Contrave, which contains Zyban. Immediately, my cravings were dramatically reduced. I was completely shocked because I've been trying to quit for 30 years without success. I'd always get the most unbearable tension headaches and give up. Finally, I asked my doctor for help, and she prescribed this. It's been almost a month now, and I've only smoked a few times. It tastes horrible now, and I'm not craving them at all unless I get really stressed out. But when I do, I don't enjoy it anymore. I encourage you to try it. If you get side effects, reduce the dosage till your body adjusts. Increase very gradually. Hope this helps! Good luck!"

Zyban (bupropion) "I smoked for 8 years, anywhere from half a pack to a pack a day. I started Zyban, gave myself 1 week to taper down then stopped smoking completely. I looked into many options and decided to try Zyban as it appeared to have less severe side effects. I wasn't even sure I wanted to quit smoking and definitely thought I would struggle and just keep going back to the excuse 'well I tried'. I took the medication for 12 weeks as advised by my doctor and have been smoke-free ever since. I know some people have side effects but don't let that put you off, everybody reacts differently to medication so why not try it. As a smoker, what do you have to lose? I am so happy with the results I have achieved and would recommend this to anyone."

Zyban (bupropion) "I smoked for 35 years. Pack a day. I never thought I could quit. I joined a smoking cessation workshop run by a doctor and social worker from the HMO I belong to. They offered an 8-week workshop and 6-month prescription of Zyban at 20% of the over-the-counter cost for the drug. The first week of taking Zyban was accompanied by some side effects which I hated (waking up early, nervous). I spoke to the workshop leaders and said I felt like quitting the drug due to the side effects. They told me to 'hang on a few more days' and the side effects would disappear. They were 100% correct! I am so happy! I took Zyban for 5 months and then weaned off of it. I never have the urge for cigarettes."

Zyban (bupropion) "When I first took Zyban, I was confident it wouldn't work. I smoked much more than I used to during the first week, and then suddenly I couldn't smoke at all. After 3 months on Zyban, I have been extremely happy that I finally beat this addiction. I'm no longer taking the medication and do feel like I want a drag or two. All in all, I would say it is a miracle drug...no matter what people tell you, it IS worth it. Be sure to follow what your doctor tells you, it's plain and simple: 2 tablets per day for 9-12 weeks and you will never ever smoke, if that is really what you want. I hope it helps everyone the same way it helped me."

Zyban (bupropion) "Pack a day for 20 years. Took zyban for a week then just smoked my last cigarette, threw anything smoke related into the trash and changed my thought patterns completely. Zyban is helpful but it's also a lot to do with your mindset. You have to WANT to stop. Give yourself a good reason and you won't smoke again. My suggestion is to keep taking the medication for a while, I completed a 3 month prescription and never bothered again. I can be around smokers, I can now see why non smokers HATE standing next to a smoker it is so amazing to have kicked this habit. Who cares if you used a pill, keep positive and change your lifestyle!"

Zyban (bupropion) "I started taking Zyban 4 weeks ago. I'm on the 12 week course of treatment. I've been smoking 17 years (started smoking at age 11) I'm now 28. I've tried quitting many times with patches and the gum and even tried the vape cigs. My quit date was March 16th and I have cravings but they don't bother me. It's weird but it's just like a quick thought that pops up and then you are like nope not today and its over with. The main side effect I've had is drowsiness. I've slept a lot. After I take my dose, I literally pass out and wake up hours later. Also, I feel drained, but I'm thinking these side effects may be my body going through withdrawal. I have felt a little nervousness here and there. Overall, it's been good."

Zyban (bupropion) "Smoked a pack a day for 20 years, moved to Zyban after Champix gave me some seriously dark thoughts! After 4 days of taking the pills, my smokes tasted funny, after 6 days I realised that I was only smoking because of the habit so I just stopped. It's taken away all the anxiety in quitting smoking. I've had a few side effects, but they've actually been ok. My mood is better, I'm going to bed early, sleeping well and waking up early, I feel very focused and motivated too. The only negative side is that it's dried my skin a bit and I get dry-mouth but I'm drinking 2.5l of water per day to fix that. It makes me a bit forgetful too, but that's ok. It's an anti-depressant, so it won't be great for everyone but it worked well for me!"

"I have just started bupropion 150mg twice daily. I'm 3 days in. I haven't noticed anything yet, good or bad. The cigarettes don't taste bad yet they just kinda taste like nothing. Dr. told me to take it 1-2 weeks prior to quitting so yeah day 3 and I'm very hopeful. I've tried everything that is available to stop and I've always gone back. Pack a day for 20+ years. I'm going to be 43 in July and I want this to be my birthday present. No more smoking. Will update in a couple of week. Well Wishes to all trying to quit."

Zyban (bupropion) "I've been taking bupropion for just over a month as per my doctor. She told me that it was important that my moods stabilize before I have a quit date. On my quit date 4 days ago, I continued taking it and using a daily Nicoderm patch with a Nicoderm inhaler for breakthroughs. I am 4 days smoke-free, something I have not been able to say in the 23 years since I first started smoking. I never lasted a day without smokes no matter how intense the plan. This combination is amazing, and I have never felt better."

Zyban (bupropion) "Today Feb. 14, 2017 marks 19 years of being a non smoker & I owe it all to Zyban. Had a few sleepless nights the first week or so, but the craving to smoke went away. I was amazed. I smoked for 32 years and I loved them. Lit up as soon as I got out of bed. The only time I was without a cigarette was sleeping or taking a shower! At the end I smoked 3 packs a day and heard my chest rattle. I've always been on the lean side but was worried about gaining weight if I quit. Did gain a few pounds but got a handle on that. Zyban was the best thing I ever did for myself! Many thanks to my wonderful, retired Dr who prescribed Zyban."

Zyban (bupropion) "In my 3rd week of taking Zyban. I smoked as usual for the 1st 2 weeks, 1 pack a day. Slowly, I started smoking less frequently, and only half a cigarette at a time. I am now not smoking at all, and more importantly, I don't even think about smoking. I have trouble falling asleep at night, but so far, that's the only side effect I am experiencing. I am finally on the road to being a non-smoker for the 1st time in 24 years."

"I started taking wellbutrin 3 days ago. About an hour after taking the first pill, I had completely lost my urges to smoke. I tried to smoke a few times and it just did nothing for me - it was like I was almost forcing myself to smoke, so I gave my last pack away and haven't had a cig yet today, and not a single craving. CRAZY! It's also taken away my desire to drink alcohol and to binge eat. I don't feel hungry but not sick either - It's like I have NO food cravings, so I can just eat whatever and it's fine - so my choices have been much better.. I've been smoking for 3 years and unsuccessfully tried quitting a bunch of times. My BF is a chain smoker and we always shared a cig - now I have no desire whatsoever. I am beyond thrilled. Just hoping It keeps working like this for me. It's like it kills a bunch of birds with one stone. love it."

Zyban (bupropion) "The Great British health service paid for my 12-week course. I smoked 30 a day and tried a number of various methods to quit; nicotine patches, cold turkey, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and even hypnosis, all with varying degrees of success yet none with any long-term success. After the first couple of days taking Zyban, I realized I was reaching out less and less for a cigarette and when I did, I lit up, I could not experience that nicotine 'hit'. I was 'cured' after 9 weeks but continued with the full 12-week course. Side effects... I gained a few pounds in weight. My quit date was 22nd February 2002."

Zyban (bupropion) "I took Zyban for about 2 months back in 1999. I had smoked for about 25 years before that and had tried to quit with no success. I was sceptical about Zyban because I was a hard core smoker, and was only half motivated to quit. Nothing changed for the first two weeks or so, then I thought I would limit myself to 3 per hou, next week the limit was one per half hour, then one per hour. Now I was about 5 or 6 weeks in. I stayed on Zyban, and would take a few smokes with me to work. One day on my way to work I was having a smoke and thinking about it and realized the only reason I was smoking now is because I was bringing them with me. I butted it out, and never looked back. I can be around smokers and not be tempted by it now too."

Zyban (bupropion) "Before the first week was up, and before I even increased my dosage, I went from smoking almost 2 packs a day to less than 5. When I tried to avoid smoking altogether right away, I had very bad headaches and felt a little achy. I think it does help to taper down some so your body can adjust to the change in nicotine levels. I have tried many times and many methods to quit smoking. Zyban is by far the best."

Zyban (bupropion) "Started smoking at 13, up to 2 1/2 packs a day. Wife also smoked, up to 2 packs a day. We both started Zyban at the same time. Took meds and smoked for a week, stopped the smoking, then a week later, stopped the meds. Haven't regretted doing it. Although I don't feel a whole lot better, still huff and puff at the top of the stairs, gained about 25 pounds, but I know we are both better for having quit. Recommend to anyone who really wants to quit."
