"This medicine is a powerful antidepressant for me. And by the third day I did not wake up craving a single cigarette, and also because it completely blocked the effects from nicotine in my brain. I also found that it greatly increased my energy and willpower. The downsides for me were extreme anxiety and insomnia (I had to take clonazepam to handle it, because it was so difficult. But gets easier with time). Truly life-changing for those who want to quit."

Zyban (bupropion) "1to 3 packs a day for past 5 years. On the third day talking zyban I took 3 drags and throw away cigarette. That was my last one. I can't look at cigarettes. Last pack is still on my countertop. Zyban is the best"

Zyban (bupropion) "I took Zyban when it was first released in 1997. For those wondering if it works ? My habit was two to three packs per day. Smoked non filters for 41 years. Even spent over a $ 1000.00 dollars trying to quit with other programs. Obviously no luck. Could not even slow down. Then I tried Zyban when it first came out, as a last resort. Thanks to Zyban the only way to loose your desire to smoke, I now am about to celebrate 20 years without one smoke. If you wish to quit and haven't been able use Zyban you will quit, if you really wish to. Michael a true believer"

Zyban (bupropion) "Smoked for 30 years; nothing worked. Hypnotherapy, counselling, support groups, nicotine patches: nowt. My daughter worked for Astra-Zeneca, the company who make it; told me she'd heard good things. My GP said okay, it's the last-chance saloon, if I don't quit after a single 2-week prescription it's my funeral. As it were. Started the tablets as prescribed a few days before quitting; used nicotine gum the last day or so; stopped completely. And just didn't want to smoke. Yes, the cravings were there, and persisted for 4 days, but I said to myself well, they're no worse than a dose of flu, and I can hack that, so I put up with it. Been off now for 16 years, never wanted one since. The odd thing is I still dream I'm smoking, now and again..."

Zyban (bupropion) "I'm taking Zyban SR 150mg twice a day. I started with once a day for 7 days on May 10 2017. So I've been on on it for 12 days. I have stopped smoking which is the goal for 3 days. Should I stop taking this medication soon? The side effects are overwhelming. I am flush, chest pain, bad taste in my mouth, sweats, nausea, head feels foggy, ears are pain with fullness feeling, constipated, and more. Will the side effects go away?"

Zyban (bupropion) "I am 58 and smoked since I was 14. In the last 10 years, I smoked between 20-25 per day - roll my own. I have tried Patches, Gum, hypnosis - I was very scared about giving up - then the Doctor gave me Zyban. I did a lot of reading on the Web and there is more scary stuff than good stuff - found this support group with so many positive things to say - I did it - it has been 5 days since my last smoke and it has been mentally wonderful. I still get the physical feeling - but they are getting better. I love this medicine."

Zyban (bupropion) "17 years of no smoking in October thanks to zyban. I started taking the pill snd stopped smoking and then I started forgetting to take the pill so I quit that too. I didn't even make it through the first month supply. Zyban works if you follow the directions and get involved. I don't smoke and no I don't have a light."

"First of all if the drug bupropion makes you worse, tell your doctor immediately. I tried many things to quit smoking. Nothing really helped. Wellbutrin definitely helps you quit smoking. I’ve been on it for about a month. I do not crave cigarettes like I used to. I can’t finish an entire cigarette. I tried to quit cold turkey prior to taking Wellbutrin, but doing cold turkey the withdrawals were horrible. I ended up slipping into that bad habit. Give Wellbutrin a chance especially if you want to quit smoking. After a month you will notice that the urge to smoke decreases significantly."

"I am 52, I smoked my first cigarette in 1975 at age 11. By age 16 I smoked pack a day. When I was 32 I got hurt on the job and had 3 back surgeries. But to get to the point, I am disabled and see a pain management dr. I was on a different antidepressant before going on wellbutrin. But after a month on welbutrin my smoking habits changed. At 48 I had tried numerous times to quit with no success, and now I had no desire to smoke,, it was weird!! I smoked because I kept buying them, but didn't like them. On the way home from a trip I was talking with my daughter and told her at that moment, I promise too quit right then and never smoke again!!. Over 2 years later I am still smoke free and off welbutrin. Welbutrin did it for me..A GOD Send!!!"

Zyban (bupropion) "I quit in 1998 because of Zyban. I credit this drug for helping me kick a pack a day habit that I thought I would never kick. I was skeptical, but after 2 weeks taking it, I didn't get the rush from that first morning cigarette. I didn't feel like I needed that soothing wave of calmness smoking gave me when I was stressed. I didn't feel rewarded when I lit up anymore. Without the soothing effects, I was left with the bad parts of smoking, the taste and the smell. I quit and have never started again since. I have heard stories from friends that had weird trips on Zyban and they sound downright frightening. This did not happen to me thankfully."

Zyban (bupropion) "I have written 2 reviews about hair loss suffered because of this drug. This website had posted the second review I wrote but it has since been taken down. Sounds like this website is getting paid by drug companies to skew the results. NOT HAPPY! Obviously you're not going to post this. But you are ruining your own reputation by only posting certain reviews. It's obvious to the public."

"I used this drug 15 years ago for situational depression. At the same time, I quit smoking and have not picked up a cigarette since. The freedom which comes from not being depressed or a slave to nicotine is priceless."

Zyban (bupropion) "I smoked for about 20 years. I was up to two packs a day. My daughter was two, and I wanted to see her get married. I had to try something. I didn’t want to quit though, I loved smoking. Dr. prescribed two pills a day for eight days, one pill thereafter. After the eighth day, I filled my last pack with water. Through it out, and went to bed. In the morning it was like I never smoked in my life. No desire at all. Even the things that would normally set me off, didn’t matter. Amazing. Thank you to the makers of Zyban!"

"I was prescribed Wellbutrin SR for the cessation of smoking. I had been smoking for 12 years. My doctor put me on 150mg 2x a day. Within the first 2 days, the satisfaction and enjoyment of smoking was gone. I would light up and take a couple of drags, but end up putting it out. It was no longer enjoyable. This works!! It also helps with decreasing my appetite. I am just now trying to find something to get that satisfied feeling that I had from smoking. I did notice some sleep disturbances for the first week of taking the meds, but now it's better. I also noticed some weird thoughts in the first week. But I feel much better now and have no desire to smoke."

"I am 37 years old and have been smoking since I was 12. I smoked 2 packs per day for the last 20 years. I started Bupropion XL 9 days ago 150mg in the AM. The first 2 days I didn't feel any different. On the 3rd day cigarettes tasted nasty. And I started to get a dry mouth. I continued to smoke for the 1 week. at the 1 week mark I started taking 300mg AM. Since I quit, I haven't had a single craving. I feel absolutely amazing. I have been experiencing some side effects though. I get dizzy and feel jittery about an hour after I take the medicine. Come the afternoon I feel fine. I would not have been able to stop smoking if it wasn't for this medicine. =)"

Zyban (bupropion) "Quit date 3 days away, after a month on Zyban, cigarettes taste bad, and aren't satisfying at all. Have reduced by half, without even starting with the nicotine replacement lozenges and gum. Was taking Lexapro for anxiety, stopped and switched to Zyban as my anti-anxiety and smoking cessation."

Zyban (bupropion) "A heavy smoker from early years. Stopped twice five years at a time but still capitulated to it. Took Zyban - didn't complete the course, as didn't need to! Haven't smoked for twelve years - thanks Zyban. I smoked forty a day, and my wife twenty! At today's prices, that relates to around $18,000 annually out of one's tax-paid income - ?? You bet. The downside? Believe me, it's all thanks to Zyban."

"I didn’t start smoking as young as most do. I started in 2015 at the age of 25. I’m 29 now. I tried everything to quit smoking. Patches, gum, hypnosis, even acupuncture. I felt like taking this medication is my last shot at ever quitting. Tomorrow April 15, 2019 will be 2 weeks on Bupropion (Wellbutrin or Zyban) I have now been 6 days smoke free. And I feel great. No cravings, no withdrawal, no irritability It actually feels pretty great. My clothes don’t stink anymore, my car doesn’t stink, and my girlfriend even said she thought I lost a few pounds (can’t drink while taking these meds and I LOVE beer) The downsides to these meds is I do have trouble sleeping and have had some weird dreams. This makes me feel tired as well as constipated. Lots of coffee seems to help I opted for this over Chantix tho as the doctor said it has less negative psychological side effects. So I’d still recommend this is you want to quit"

Zyban (bupropion) "Tried expensive Chantix first. Bizarre dreams and did really scary things in my sleep. Really a Psychotic's Drug ! Made me completely psychotic and angry. Then tried Zyban and read the interesting comments. Only needed the lower doses. I was on drug for 2.5 months. Able to gracefully quit 1-1/2 pack a day habit by Nov 2006. No angry responses. Not afraid to sleep. Even lost a few pounds. Have stayed off the butts since 2006. Good drug for smoking cessation--bad anti-depressant. Cheap. Generic available."

Zyban (bupropion) "I'm a former smoker of 16 years and have been not smoking because of Zyban for one week so far and haven't looked back. The medicine definitely helps the vicious cravings, however it still takes will power and you have to truly want to quit. Side effects are minimal. Make sure your second dose of the day is not at night time as it will keep you up for most of the night. Other then slight jitters (like a caffeine rush), I'm not experiencing anything major. The caffeine rush feeling has cut down on my coffee intake, so another plus! Coffee is a trigger for me to want to smoke, so more power to Zyban!"

Zyban (bupropion) "I am completely marvelled by what has happened thus far. Zyban for me is a wonder drug. Honestly, I tried Champix 4 times with no results. The time I was so determined to quit that I added patches as well and had a nicotine spray. Yeah, that's how much it did not work. Zyban has, by day 9, I was not smoking. I can't believe that I went without a smoke for 1 day let alone 7 weeks now. I am thrilled at the results. The first 2 weeks on Zyban were a little difficult to adjust, but I just persevered with the mild side effects and here I am to say yay, just yay. 10 out of 10. Recommend Zyban over Champix all day every day. I was a smoker for nearly 50 years. Thanks Zyban..."

Zyban (bupropion) "Quit using Zyban over 29 years ago. Quitting with Zyban was the easiest thing to do. Tried to quit by ALL of the other methods without success. All I did was follow the directions faithfully and changed my routing for the first morning only. I never looked back or had those ghost cravings. I found I was able to have the occasional cigar without issue. TOTALLY recommend this method... Weaned myself off Zyban by just forgetting to take the meds more frequently as time went on."

Zyban (bupropion) "I started smoking at age 9. Smoking alot by age 13. Started driving 18 wheeler at age 23. Four to five packs a day depending on whether I had to work 23 or 24 hours in a day. In Dec. Of 1999 I took Zyban for I think a month. From what I can remember , it made me a little nuts at times as well as violent. I understand it changes the addictive center in your brain but it changed my personality as well. The the second week I relapsed for one day and then none after that. Seventeen years and not one cigarette. Still wanted one once in awhile but never enough to light one up. I only wish I had done it sooner before my lungs went copd. Make no mistake, I would be long dead if I had not quit. (A coffee can full of phlegm a day)"

Zyban (bupropion) "I took the first week and then the second week I forgot to take the third morning dose. That evening, as I got ready to take the evening dose, I realized I had no desire to smoke, so I quit taking it. I've been smoke-free for almost 12 years, this after smoking for 44 years at about a pack and a half daily. Best medicine ever."
