Zyban (bupropion) "Given Zyban to help me stop smoking and it worked. I quit smoking, drinking tea, and sodas too. To this day, I do not want to smoke or drink tea or sodas. I didn't know that I would feel so good too. I didn't feel depressed anymore. I felt content with life. The only drawback I experienced was some dizziness."

Zyban (bupropion) "I tried Zyban twice after smoking for about 20 years, a pack a day. The first time, I could feel my urge to smoke lessening, but after about a week on the medicine, one day I felt exhausted. I slept for 14 hours; the next day I woke up and felt so, so down and depressed. Since I had done my research prior to taking this, I knew what it was. I called a doctor and stopped the medicine. A year later, I decided to try again. This time, I had no such thoughts. After about 5 days, I felt the urge to smoke going away, and on day 7, I lit one up, wondered why I was doing this, and put it out. Never looked back. I stayed on Zyban for about a year. That was two and a half years ago. No cravings. No cheating. Amazing."

Zyban (bupropion) "Started taking 150 mg (so just the one pill in the morning) 3 days ago, and I am shocked! I've had more energy, less anxiety (I have an anxiety disorder and panic attacks normally), feel happier, and I don't feel like smoking much. I go hours without a smoke, yet I used to smoke 30 cigarettes a day! I'm only on day 3! Tomorrow, I am supposed to step up to 2 pills, and I assume I won't want a smoke at all. Brilliant pill. Wish I could stay on it, as I feel amazing!"

Zyban (bupropion) "Smoked 30 years. Never thought I could ever quit! Tried this product recommended by my doctor. Felt a bit high and forgetful, a bit my general patience was less. But after 1 month, I have stopped using Zyban and have quit 100%. Really is a miracle pill!!!!!"

"I started this medication about 5 weeks ago to stop smoking. I have been cigarette-free for a month. No cravings at all. My mood has improved. Maybe I had some borderline depression going on? I feel amazing. Happy, fun, and have a little more energy. I haven’t felt like this in a long time. I have lost 5-6 pounds in 5 weeks! Not sure if it’s decreased appetite or it’s causing me not to crave food. But I will take it either way. Sleeping great! Falling asleep every night fast, and I wake up happy/well rested. Increased libido-maybe just feeling better overall causes this. 9/10 rating because of the initial side effects. I had an odd taste in my mouth for about 3 weeks, some nausea for the first few days, and night sweats for about a week. Again, could have been related to smoking withdrawal as well. I don’t want to stop this medication and plan to keep taking it even though I am no longer smoking."

"I've been on the medication for a week. I was taking one a day for the first week, and now into my second week, I'm taking two a day. My doctor recommended giving myself the week of getting the medication into my system and then picking my quit date. Two days into taking the medication, my cravings were cut drastically. Tomorrow is my quit date, and today, a week and two days later on the medication, I went from smoking almost two packs a day to smoking four today. I won't lie, I have a little bit of nausea, but it's helping me, and I'd rather deal with a bit of nausea and quit smoking than continue to smoke. One of my biggest fears was gaining weight due to quitting smoking, but this medication has helped cut back my appetite, and this week alone I actually lost three pounds because I'm not snacking. I definitely recommend this medication."

"Smoked for 43 years, 2 packs a day, tried to quit with patch, hypnosis, Chantix, didn't work for me. I went on bupropion 2 times a day for three days, bad side effects, but after 3 days, all side effects went away. I smoked for three weeks on the medication and quit. It was not hard to quit. I was on the medicine for a total of 2 months, quit the medicine, and have been smoke-free for 6 months."

"Two weeks after taking bupropion to stop smoking, I was still smoking. Out of habit. Not because I wanted one. When I realized I was powering through in order to keep smoking, I decided to quit. I did. I put the smoke down and haven’t smoked in 3 weeks, after 38 years of smoking at least a pack a day. Medication makes withdrawal and desire go away. But you still have to want to quit. Awesome!"

Zyban (bupropion) "Zyban is a very strange feeling. I have been on it for three days, and my urges are way down. I still fight triggers like coffee and post-eating, but even when I tried to smoke, it tasted very strange and made me feel a little dizzy. We'll see how the next couple of weeks go, but I'm excited to quit! The only drawback is it is really hard to fall asleep."

"So this is only my 4th day to take the Wellbutrin XL 150 mg to help me stop smoking. I feel so down, been crying randomly. I don't like this feeling. Does this get better? After 7 days I will be bumped up to the 300 mg. I want to just quit taking it. I'd rather smoke a cigarette than feel this horrible. Any advice would be great."

Zyban (bupropion) "I was given Zyban to stop smoking. After three days, I realized I had not smoked or wanted to in two days. It was that fast. I had no side effects that I remember and stopped taking it after two weeks. It's been close to 10 years now and I have absolutely no craving or desire to smoke. At the time I began Zyban, I had smoked over a pack a day for about 14 years."

Zyban (bupropion) "I am completely marvelled by what has happened thus far. Zyban for me is a wonder drug. Honestly, I tried Champix 4 times with no results. The time I was so determined to quit that I added patches as well and had a nicotine spray. Yeah, that's how much it did not work. Zyban has, by day 9, I was not smoking. I can't believe that I went without a smoke for 1 day let alone 7 weeks now. I am thrilled at the results. The first 2 weeks on Zyban were a little difficult to adjust, but I just persevered with the mild side effects and here I am to say yay, just yay. 10 out of 10. Recommend Zyban over Champix all day every day. I was a smoker for nearly 50 years. Thanks Zyban..."

"I've been on bupropion for eight years. On day two, I stopped smoking and haven't even thought about going back, in fact, the smell of tobacco offends me. What seemed to happen was that nicotine suddenly had no effect, like the medication blocked the reasons I was smoking. Now I use the drug as a sleep aid. Another benefit was the decline in the urge to drink."

"I never write reviews, but this medicine has worked so well for me. I've been on it since January 2nd and have cut down smoking by more than 3/4. Yesterday I only had 2-3 cigarettes, and they weren't even completely smoked. It's weird because you still think of having a smoke now and then, but have little desire to actually go have one. Each day gets better, and you have less and less desire to actually smoke, even if you think about it from time to time. No side effects. Would pay 10x more if I had to for this."

"I have been a smoker for over 25 years, smoke a pack every 2 days, and it's time to stop! My doctor prescribed this medication to me over 2 years ago, and I took one or two here and there (mainly because I wasn't ready to stop smoking). Today I am ready! I have made a promise to my children and family that I want to be around to see them fulfill their dreams and watch my only grandson graduate from school. I watched my father pass away from lung cancer, oral cancer from smoking, but yet I still chose to smoke. That should have been enough to stop me then. Today I am committing myself to stop this awful habit and be released from the cigarettes' hold of addiction. Good luck everyone on the same journey."

"I have been a smoker for 20 years, and I have tried to quit many times, tried cutting down, then cold turkey, tried the patch, but it didn’t go well with my skin. I started taking Wellbutrin last Monday. Was told to smoke the first week. After 3 days, it tasted so gross that I went from smoking a pack a day to maybe 5 or 6 a day. I finally stopped smoking on day 8 of the meds, and it honestly works so well. I never thought I could quit, and it honestly has been a lot easier than I thought, especially when I went through hell trying to quit other times. I do get side effects I’m not crazy about. I find myself with less energy (which I heard should increase it), dizzy daily, and a complete scatterbrain, but all well worth it in my eyes. You still get cravings, but not nearly as bad. And you have to be dedicated to quit as well. This pill helps but doesn’t do it for you. If I can do it, believe me, YOU CAN! Good luck."

Zyban (bupropion) "The first week I had some very brief agitation (day 4) that lasted for about 30 minutes. By the end of the first week, my cravings were nearly gone. I am down to only 1 to 3 uses per day, which is a major reduction for me. I plan to be completely done by day 20. No other side effects. Not feeling any nicotine withdrawal symptoms. I plan to use the Wellbutrin full strength for 1-2 weeks after quitting entirely and then begin the taper process. Amazing product."

Zyban (bupropion) "My partner took Zyban to help him quit smoking. Yes, it did help him to stop, but the side effects have been horrific. I would not recommend anyone using this. For the past five and a half years, he has suffered terrible mood swings, to the point that he frightens me, and there has been a little violence (in the early days). He has had suicidal thoughts (and still does now occasionally). Our happy little family unit has almost been destroyed... we are still together by the grace of God, but for how much longer, I don't know. I know his health has probably improved no end due to no longer smoking, but his mental health has suffered greatly, and sadly I don't know if things will ever improve."

Zyban (bupropion) "I used Zyban to quit smoking, and after 2 weeks, I no longer had the urge to smoke. I've been smoke-free for over 23 years. I don't understand why it's not on the market to help people stop smoking. I smoked over 40 years and 2-3 packs a day."

"Been smoking for 45 years! About a half pack or sometimes more a day. Started bupropion to quit. Had to take it about 3 weeks before it kicked in, but almost overnight one day I had no desire to smoke. It felt like a miracle. No bad side effects. I have been smoke-free for a month now, and my husband still smokes, so I am around it all the time. Still have no desire. Maybe not for everyone, but certainly worth a try. And much cheaper than Chantix."

Zyban (bupropion) "I took Zyban in 2001. The first 10 days were fine, but once I started taking 2 a day, I went into anaphylactic shock and also had a seizure, which then landed me in the hospital. I was 20 years old and had no previous history of seizures. Also, once the hives went away, and the prednisone and Benadryl wore off from being in the hospital, I still had skin sensitivity and seriously bad joint pain for almost 2 weeks. I know this is rare, but be careful. Now, just to be safe, I tell doctors and pharmacists that I’m allergic to Wellbutrin/bupropion/Zyban."

Zyban (bupropion) "At first, had lots of energy, and my concentration was great. Got a weird metallic taste in my mouth after I smoked and started to lose the temptation. I slowly started becoming more aggressive and agitated. On about the 5th day, I had hallucinations, freaked out, and stopped taking it."

Zyban (bupropion) "Smoked for 22 years. I was one of those smokers who tried to quit lots but then resigned to the excuse that I loved to smoke. Just over a week ago, I mentally decided that I was not a smoker. I started Zyban on the second day I quit and smoked 2 that day, one the next, and half the next. That last half, I knew it was the last. As with these other stories, I was addicted. Tried everything: Champix, patches, quit help lines, and support, etc., so I was skeptical but determined. I really cannot believe how well it has worked. I'm not grumpy, no cravings, and no side effects as yet. I also take the gum with it, but it's not a need, just a backup. Can't recommend this enough."

Zyban (bupropion) "My daughter after two weeks of taking this "medicine" spent on January 3, 2020 a day and a half in the Emergency Room after collapsing at home in an epileptic seizure when she stopped breathing. I do not wish anyone to feel helpless when you hold your limp adult child in your hand, eyes wide, without signs of life, without any movement of the diaphragm, and without heart action when you think this is the end. I would also like to thank all the rescue services that were involved in her rescue at that moment, from the fire brigade to the rapid ambulance, I am sure that without their help and quick action it would not work well! It was necessary to stabilize the heart because the heart rate was extremely fast and critically high. The brain CT then revealed four consecutive seizures, which led the doctor to decide to entrust the daughter to the care of a neurologist in a larger city. Please take this message as a warning against this medicine Zyban and its offspring Wellbutrin."
