Armodafinil for Narcolepsy "I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy about 18 months ago after battling constant fatigue no matter how much sleep I received at night or how many naps I took throughout the day. Nuvigil has changed my life! I take one pill daily, and I am able to live a normal life outside of the fog that I was constantly living in before my diagnosis. I had a lot of side effects when I first started taking Nuvigil, which included headaches, dry mouth, cramping, nausea, loss of appetite, and dizziness, but those were nothing compared to being able to finally live my life fully for the first time! I felt like before I was swimming in murky water, unable to see or function, and after the medication, I can actually experience life and interact with people!"

Armodafinil for ADHD "After a few days on Nuvigil (after experiencing Provigil), I found it to be excellent for my ADHD. Provigil made me feel anxious all day, to the point I could not run or work out in comfort. The first day on Nuvigil was the only day I had this feeling. The side effects for me are dry mouth and suppressed appetite. It is so nice to be focused. The worst effect was muscle weakness! I went from running 7 miles to not being able to run more than 7 minutes."

Armodafinil for Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "I have suffered with severe OSAH syndrome for 15 years. I have undergone two surgeries to help 'clear' my airway with very short-term positive effects. For years, I 'slept' for at least nine hours a night and still napped for 2 to 4 hours every day. I awoke EVERY morning with my uvula so swollen it felt like I was swallowing it, and with a severely dry mouth and nagging headache. When I was awake, I was in a fog. CPAP helped, but I still had to nap during the day. 6 months ago, my pulmonologist prescribed Nuvigil, and my life changed. It is a miracle medication. I never go without my CPAP, and I take 250 mg Nuvigil around 9 a.m., and I can now have a normal, productive day. In addition, as long as I am CPAP compliant, my insurance pays all but $5."

Armodafinil for Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "Wow, I feel normal again. I had been living on 5 hours of sleep due to sleep apnea fears for years. I got tested and was given a CPAP machine. I felt great for about a month, then tired. I started sleeping 9 hours a day and drinking tons of coffee and soft drinks. Nothing helped. I went to my regular MD, and all blood work was good. Was told to start working out. Problem was I was too tired. I went back to sleep. MD gave me Nuvigil. Like I said, WOW. I did have a few rough days when I started taking the 250 mg pills, but it was nice to stay awake and have a life. Side effects (headaches and dry mouth) are going away."

Armodafinil for Narcolepsy "I was diagnosed with narcolepsy about a month ago. I don't like taking pills, but falling asleep at work at 8 AM is just not acceptable. I was prescribed the 150 mg, and my insurance pays for it. There is a discount program offered by some pharmacies (using Walmart). My doctor gave me some information about it, and I only paid $10. It is supposed to save $50 each month. My experience with the pill itself is mostly positive. I finally feel like I can actually pursue my dreams and goals and won't have to compromise on less because I am too tired to go for it. I also have the side effect of dry mouth, though, and on the 3rd day of full dosage, I get a bad headache. Because of that, I take only half on some days, and most weeks don't take any on Sunday."

Armodafinil for Narcolepsy "I've been on Nuvigil for about 5 weeks for narcolepsy. I can actually function. I was prescribed the 150 mg 1x/day and initially had very bad headaches for the first week or so and was taking ibuprofen to deal with them. My doctor had me cut the pills to take half when I wake and half 3 hrs later, and I no longer had the headaches but still had the wakefulness. I do occasionally experience severe dry mouth that no amount of water can fix, but no longer have headaches or any other problems, and am actually awake. I do get urges to nap on occasion, but they are resistible. Amazing to be able to be awake again!"

Armodafinil for Narcolepsy "After looking over the sleep study results, my doctor concluded I have narcolepsy. He has put me on Nuvigil (1x-150mg). I will say, the first 2-3 days felt great. After that, it went and still continues to go downhill. I feel tired and am weak, but my eyes aren't closing like they used to. I kind of wish I would just fall asleep. I have this extreme dull headache that won't subside and dry mouth. I meet with the doctor next week, hopefully, we can change things up."

Armodafinil for Narcolepsy "I have been taking Nuvigil for a little over a month now. At first, I took 150 mg. It worked for 3 days, and then I went back to being exhausted. My doctor bumped the dosage to 250 mg, and it has been working a lot better. The thing is, I can still feel episodes of sleepiness coming on later in the afternoon and have been adding caffeine, but I think it's bringing on the side effects like jitteriness, nausea, fogginess, extreme dry mouth, and an uncomfortable feeling in my jaw and the back of my neck. I do not like the side effects, and I am now trying to cut back on the caffeine, hoping it will help. Going to add Xyrem to my treatment to see if it will fix me."

Armodafinil "Overall, I'm doing better. I've lost weight and have more energy, but my tongue is a bit swollen, and my mouth is dry, and everything is very, very salty tasting. I have very vivid dreams, but I'm able to sleep at night. I'm also on Latuda 40 mgs at night. I have no desire to eat or drink, and I'm not urinating a lot, which has caused an infection and does not help with body pain. I will continue to take it because I'm able to work two jobs."

Armodafinil for Drowsiness "Nuvigil was not for me. I felt very drugged and groggy. Dry mouth and eyes. I also found myself staring into space a lot, and my skin was tingly. I felt way more tired than I did before I took Nuvigil. I didn't dare drive while taking this medication. I switched back to Concerta at a higher dose than I was taking before, and it is working very well for me. I feel completely normal."

For Narcolepsy "I get mine filled at Costco because of insurance issues. It’s really changed my life, and now I can actually start living instead of being in a coma-like state. Some side effects that never went away: dry mouth, sweating a lot, headache when I don’t drink enough, jittery for the first hour, hungrier. All of this is worth it. I’m used to side effects from other meds, but this is the only one that worked."

For Narcolepsy "I was diagnosed with narcolepsy by an MSLT and just found out the results today. I only experience ES with narcolepsy. I have been taking this medicine for almost 2 months now. I have had the dosage increased twice. At first, when I started taking the medicine, I was very energized and had a hard time sleeping a few nights. After getting used to the medicine, I don't feel excessively energized, jittery, or have trouble sleeping at all. I just feel awake, and it gives me the power to lead a successful life. I have had a few side effects from the medicine. I often experience neck cramps/aches and almost always get dry mouth. I also sometimes have a lack of appetite. These side effects are very manageable. Armodafinil has changed my life."
