For Sinusitis "I had a severe sinus infection and went on Augmentin 875. It has helped. No more headache and facial pain. I was extremely dizzy, nauseous, had a loss of appetite, severe mood/personality changes, and hyperactivity. I went off the medicine on day 5, couldn't take the side effects."

For Urinary Tract Infection "Feeling horrendous, like I'm being poisoned! Was prescribed this after a trip to A&E with an upper UTI/kidney infection. I don't normally take meds, and I'm trying to avoid antibiotics as I have leaky gut, but the Dr urged me to take them as the infection was so bad. Anyway, the first day or two weren't too bad, but then I woke up and felt like I'd been hit by a freight train. Here are some of the things I've been experiencing: nausea, bloating, thrush, severe migraine-like headaches, loss of appetite, depression and mood swings, paranoia, anxiety, dehydration due to constant urination, burning pain in my limbs and a stiff neck, a feeling of being hungover each morning, dizziness and 'brain fog,' and a dry cough! Never taking these again!!!"

For Sinusitis "I was prescribed this by my doctor for sinusitis. I’ve been on all types of antibiotics in my life, and this stuff is horrible. Went on my lunch break, and I was convinced I was dying. Anxiety, panic attacks, tarry stool (gastric bleeding?), chest and back pain, side pain, chest tightness, abdominal cramping (felt like something was tearing into my stomach), sweating, terrible diarrhea, pale, dizziness, huge headache, etc. Only took one dose, stopped dosage, and called my ENT doctor for an appointment."

For Sinusitis "I was prescribed this from the hospital for sinusitis. I’ve been on all types of antibiotics in my life, and this stuff is horrible. Woke up this morning convinced I was dying. Anxiety, panic attacks, tarry stool, chest and back pain, side pain, chest tightness, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, pale, dizziness, headache. I could go on. Stopped dosage and heading to PCP tomorrow to figure out what’s going on now."

For Sinusitis "Went to urgent care with a toothache. Told I had a severe sinus infection. Mind you, I've had swelling on the left side of my face for 5 years, been through every test out there for answers with no success. Ever since the swelling started, I've suffered ear infections (left side only) and sinus infections to no end. Dentist would tell me my X-rays don't look normal but offered no explanation. Okay, so urgent care prescribed penicillin 500 mg, but I explain to the doctor that I may have a tolerance to that with all the antibiotics I've been on, so she prescribes Augmentin 875 2x a day for 10 days. Over a few days, I'm dizzy, nauseous, pressure headaches like my brain is being squeezed. The worst medicine EVER!!!"

For Sinusitis "I'm on day 3 out of 10 of Augmentin 875/125 twice a day for a sinus infection. So far, I haven't had any serious side effects, however, I'm starting to experience loss of appetite, drowsiness, diarrhea, and dizziness within the first 2.5 hours of taking a dose. It is also causing insomnia, but I take a sleeping pill, and I'm fine. Other than that, the medicine is working great. I'm feeling better already (I can breathe again, my head doesn't feel like 100 lbs! pressure is inside it). It is a very strong antibiotic, so if you take it, be sure to drink PLENTY of fluids, get lots of rest, and try some yogurt for the abdominal cramps from the diarrhea, it seems to help for me!"

For Middle Ear Infections "A 10-day round of this did not heal my middle ear infection. The day after I finished the antibiotics, I woke up with the same symptoms that I presented with 10 days prior. I had some vertigo feelings around day 6 or 7, but maybe it was just the infection spreading. I had no side effects, but it also didn't work."

For Sinusitis "Took one dose of Augmentin 875 mg for a sinus infection. Stomach pain, nausea, sweats, insomnia, dizziness just from one dose. This was taken over 12 hours ago and still feeling bad. Will not take again. Contacted doctor for a new prescription."

For Urinary Tract Infection "After a few days of taking Augmentin, I had shortness of breath, dizziness, and my tongue starting to swell up. My skin felt like it was on fire. I had to go to the ER, the doctor there said I was allergic to that medicine."

For Sinusitis "I am at the end of day 3 of the medication, and I can't do it anymore. The side effects are making life miserable, just in a different way than I started with. I went in because of the headache and congestion that would not respond to anything over the counter, plus vertigo. The vertigo went away after the first day of meds, but the headache is significantly worse. Additionally, my stomach hurts really bad and constantly feels like I have overeaten a massive amount all the time, whether I have eaten or not. I have also had some mild diarrhea. So not worth it for me!"

"Took this drug for 5 days. Did not help at all! Side effects were body aches, anxiety, cloudy brain, dizziness! I stopped 2 days ago, and I still feel terrible! Can’t skip work because I had to take time off while taking this nasty drug! Do not take this unless your life depends on it!"

For Sinusitis "I am writing this so anyone going through the same thing is prepared. Started with a cough 03/25. Turned into a sinus infection on 04/06. Started Augmentin (Amox/clav) on 04/07. Felt nausea/dizzy. Didn’t drink enough water, so felt sick - drink 8 glasses or more, no joke, eat a full meal and snack on crackers, etc., thought out the day 4/8 hours after taking. 04/08: Diarrhea, dizzy, foggy brain. Coughing up phlegm for hours after taking, and just horrible dizzy, mentally tough, felt like a heart attack but started to improve after drinking lots of water/crackers and fruits. 04/09: Started kefir/yogurt for breakfast and one shot of kefir mid-day. Helped diarrhea and made tummy better. All night up coughing phlegm and draining nose. Be prepared to be up all night clearing phlegm - SVT attack heart rate 180/230 rubbed neck in a circular motion - coughed-held breath and broke SVT attack. Don’t do decongestion meds, will cause attack with amox/clav 04/10. 04/12: Working just fuzzy brain and anxious, almost better."

For Bacterial Infection "I don't tolerate antibiotics very well at all. I was put on this, and it was okay at first. After a couple of days, I definitely had severe nausea and some dizziness. I really had to force myself to eat. I was on 500 mg 2x daily for 10 days. I only made it for those 6 days. I wish I had made myself push through, but I couldn’t work dizzy. I also itched a little bit, not bad. Did not help UTI, probably because I stopped 4 days early. Side effects lingered a week, even after I stopped."

For Strep Throat "This stuff is great if you want to pee out of your butt every 15 mins, get dizzy, and have hot flashes. Went to my doctor after 5 days of sharting water, and he switched me to regular amoxicillin, and I'm already feeling better 24 hours later. Will never take this again."

For Middle Ear Infections "So much pressure in my ears, so I was prescribed Augmentin. A couple days in, I notice my left arm kinda hurts but paid no attention. I start having very large and constant bowel movements that smell like the pills, lol. On the 9th day, I break out in a cold sweat, fever, terrible left arm pain, and muscle weakness. I go to urgent care thinking I'm having a heart attack. Discontinue drug. Symptoms still persist, and I think I have tendonitis in my left shoulder now. Very dizzy and weak despite stopping medication 4 days ago."

For Middle Ear Infections "I was prescribed Augmentin for healing my ear infection. I threw up shortly after taking the first dose. I felt dizzy and very unwell. I will never take this medicine again. I feel worse than I did before taking it. Amoxicillin by itself should do the trick without all the side effects of Augmentin."

For Middle Ear Infections "I am a 42-year-old man. After 2 days on Augmentin, my ears felt better, but I couldn’t sleep. After 4 days, I felt foggy-headed, lethargic, dizzy, and overall unwell, and the ear pain returned. On the 10th day, I felt extremely fatigued, sad, broke out on my face, and ringing in my ears is terrible. The Z-Pak did not work either."

For Bacterial Infection "I really like this antibiotic so far. I was on Cipro before for the same infection, and that made me feel nauseous and dizzy. With Augmentin, I feel fine as if I am not even taking an antibiotic. Lots of negative reviews on here, so it just shows you that everyone has a different reaction. Just know if an antibiotic makes you feel really ill, you should call your doctor right away to switch and should not keep taking something that you can't tolerate."
