No, Skyrizi (risankizumab) did not cause hair loss during clinical trials. Skyrizi is an injectable medication used for the treatment of plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and Crohn’s disease.

Hair loss wasn’t reported as a side effect during clinical trials submitted to the FDA for approval. It is not included as a side effect in the Skyrizi product information. Additionally, hair loss wasn’t identified as a side effect due to Skyrizi in a long-term study of 17 clinical trials of patients taking the medication to treat plaque psoriasis.

If you notice hair thinning or hair loss (also called alopecia), talk to your doctor. There are many causes of hair loss, including stress, diet changes, and certain medications. Your doctor can help you determine what is causing your hair loss and provide recommendations for treating it.
