Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Prevention of Osteoporosis "Reclast has helped me a lot. Was losing mobility due to terrible bone quality in feet, fracture, bone stress, much pain. Just had 2nd infusion. No side effects. Much more mobile now, much less foot pain ."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "Severe dizziness and muscle pain after 8 hours of having Reclast infusion. I could barely walk to my car after shopping at Costco. When I got home, I threw up, my hands shaking from holding my body up from throwing up. My ankles had severe shooting pains, ribs were also hurting. I would never have this done again!!! My identical twin sister opted not to have it done. Her bone density is slightly better than mine. She exercises and does resistance training three days a week. She lifts weights and feels great. I, on the other hand, sit and watch TV, read books, and play on my iPhone, but can’t do any of these things because of the severe pain. I think I am going to start and do strength training to increase bone density like my identical sister before I ever use this drug again! It is poison!!!"

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "I’m 58 years old and had my first infusion in 2018 and then again in 2019. I just had another bone scan and found out my score is exactly the same. Luckily not any worse, but it did not improve after 2 transfusions. I did have flue like symptoms for 24 hours after the first infusion, but was fine after the second one. I take a daily calcium supplement plus D3. I was just curious if it’s normal for no improvement after two treatments. My score was -2.6"

Aclasta (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "I had two infusions during a two-year period. One day, suddenly, I had so much pain in my upper leg. I had no trauma prior to the pain. A bone scan shows I had a typical fracture on my femur. The doctor didn't tell me about the side effects of the drug. I am so disappointed. I thought the drug was supposed to strengthen my bones but does the opposite."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Prevention of Osteoporosis "I am convinced that Reclast (along with all other bisphosphonates, Fosamax etc.) makes bones more brittle and more prone to break. My mother had Reclast in 2011, and since then has broken her kneecap, shoulder, and femur, and also has stage 3 kidney disease. I think the whole bisphosphonate drug therapy is an experiment that has gone wrong, and that they need to be sued; that may be the only way that will stop it. I asked some lawyer groups about a class action lawsuit, and they said they weren't accepting cases for it."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Prevention of Osteoporosis "On 11/13/2019 I had ReClast infusion . Today is 11/22/2019....... I have had body/bone pain, aches, malaise, fatigue , chills , and diarrhea, since the infusion . Starting yesterday severe lower abdominal cramps, not eating......having abdominal ultrasound next week. Effectiveness of this drug is NOT worth the pain and misery, and won’t know for a year if it helps. #NEVER AGAIN! Think twice before you do it!"

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "Ten days after getting this I had flu-like side effects briefly, and my whole body was itchy with hives. Went to UCLA urgent care last night, I was put in the room with a burning and dying sensation and I waited and waited. I finally ran out asking for Benadryl and unfortunately was disapproved. I ended up walking out thinking I could do better at home. The rash looks like Shingle hives which I am vaccinated against. An antihistamine saved the unbearable itchiness on Sunday. Will never take this in my life and never go to urgent care."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "Reclast is a bad drug. It made my wife terribly ill! All side effects were devastating! It should be removed from use! She is lifeless in bed. Had to take her to the ER for morphine and nausea meds and calcium. This drug is dangerous, and the FDA should be held responsible for its end results and its allowing of doctors to use it in the USA."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "I was diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 47. After completing 2 years of Forteo treatment, I had an infusion of Reclast in Oct. 2014. I didn't experience any side effects from the drug. I walk five to seven times a week, take a monthly RX Vitamin D tablet, and ensure enough daily calcium with almond milk and supplements. My bone scan of 12/2015 shows a -1.3 T Score. I'm back in the osteopenic range - and very happy."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "I had the reclast nfusion less than 1 week ago. First day seemed fine until evening, then headache started. Ended up in bed for 2 days due to exhaustion, body aches, fever and severe headache. 3rd day the pain in my thumbs started, barely able to use my hands, 4th day neck pain, I'm almost afraid what else come up. Debating whether or not I'll take this again next year. Unable to do my normal exercise and stretching due to joint pain."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "I am 52 years old with no other medical problems. After having a Reclast treatment, I have had very few side effects. I took 1200 mg a day of Calcium Citrate and Vitamin D for about two weeks before my treatment and drank lots of water the day of the treatment, before and after. I was able to go back to work the day after my treatment with no pain."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "Hard to tell if this drug worked yet or not but it definitely made me sick. Got the infusion Friday and on Saturday I had a 102 Fever and could barely get out of bed. I had chills, I'm sweating all over the place, and my husband literally had to help me to the bathroom. I was dizzy and every bone in my body ached. By Sunday afternoon, I was a little bit better but four days later I'm still feeling achy and have diarrhea. I won't be doing another infusion."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "74 years old, has back pain, tests identified 2 compression spine fxs. Conservative treatment failed to give relief, had 2 ESIs (epidural steroid injections), then 2-level kyphoplasty (Vertebral Augmentation for Compression Fractures), next Reclast infusion, felt okay for about 5 hours but later back pain intensified, went to bed, started shaking like chills all over, finally fell asleep. The next morning was so weak, unable to get out of bed; husband rolled me on a rolling walker into the bathroom, assisted me on and off the commode, stayed the same the next day. On Monday felt a little stronger but severe neck and right thumb pain, mostly laying and sleeping in a recliner. Checked with the doctor and received no specific recommendations. The next day was able to go out to lunch but extremely weak, had another ESI 6 days after Reclast, got relief for that day and the next, but pain returned with a vengeance the following day and back in the recliner now 9 days post infusion. Never again."

Zometa (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "Worst madication I’ve ever had. I got all the severe side effects. Joint and muscle pain, headache, nausea, chest and abdominal pain, chills. This medication is a torture. If you want to experience all kinds of body aches and pain, take this medication. I do not recommend it and I will never take it any more even if I was going to die."

Aclasta (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "I had an anaphylactic reaction, and a week later still have muscle pains in every muscle, chest pain, 'blocked' ears, metallic taste in my mouth, grey tongue covering, constipation, and extremely painful feet, hands, and chest. This drug is POISON to my system. It will be in my body for over a year. Will these symptoms eventually ease?"

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "Last year's infusion brought four days of fever, made difficult because I can't take aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatories. After two weeks, I'm nostalgic for those symptoms. This time body temp has stayed in the 96.4 range (95.9 this a.m.), when it's usually 97.6-98.6, so I feel very cold—until I get a savage hot flash requiring me to mop myself off with a towel, at least once an hour. I also have muscle cramps waking me up several times a night (more than prior to treatment). I've been lightheaded and fatigued. I also have fibromyalgia, but these symptoms are different/more intense. The doc told me he can do nothing. I'm frantic because I need to work and find that almost impossible. Anyone else with a situation like mine?"

Aclasta (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "I had aclasta 10 days ago and had a quite a severe reaction where my body ached terribly all over and I could barely walk for 24 hours. The next 2 days I was left with my body feeling dull pain all over. Since the infusion I’ve had the worst pain in my thoracic area like I have a knife stabbing me and it won’t budge. I had an X-ray no broken rib. Had a massage nothing will fix it. So hard sleeping. I had no idea I’d be left like this."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "I had the Reclast done in March 2015. I read the reviews and had put this off for a year, but I am glad I did it because now I have more energy than I did before. I know I kept myself hydrated over a month faithfully, and I experienced no side effects. Awesome."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "I had Reclast infusion 4 weeks ago. Felt fine for the first week and then got lower back, hip, groin, and thigh pain. Pain is getting worse by the day. I was told by 3 doctors that I needed Reclast because I have 50% bone loss due to chemo and radiation. When I questioned side effects, all doctors told me it's rare. I took a chance and I am miserable."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "I am 66 years old. I had my first Reclast infusion in December 2020. The first week was met with a severe migraine that lasted 7 full days. As soon as that went away, the bone pain came. My shoulders, ribs, hips, and legs felt like they were breaking. I cried when trying to get out of bed or up out of a chair. Two weeks ago, the burning started. Felt like my bones were burning from the inside, & it was painful to use my hands. This is on top of my bones still feeling like they are breaking. This past week, the tremors started. At this point, it's getting harder to fight off the depression. I was a very active person. Side effects are getting worse. I fear this medicine will never get out of my bones, or that it's already caused permanent damage. Reclast has destroyed the past 6 months of my life, & my body. Does anyone have a timeline they can give me, for how long it took to get out of your body, where you had the side effects 6 months or longer?"

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "Am 73 years old, have been using reclast injections once a year for 7 or more years, last bone density test showed good improvement, had a slight soreness the first time, and have zero side effects since. Am going in today for another test. I guess we all tolerate different things, I take no other medications whatsoever. But for me this seems to be working."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "I had the Recast infusion back in March 2019. I have experienced more bone pain than I did prior to the infusion. Still in pain. The day after I had the infusion I had to go to the ER due to higher than normal blood pressure. 196/102. Headache etc. is this normal to still be in pain, and fatigued?"

Aclasta (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis "Had an Aclasta infusion in June 2018 and I am still having adverse reactions. These are severe shivers, sweats, extreme tiredness and severe itching, loss of appetite and nausea. Immediately after the infusion I was unable to get out of bed for three days and had severe backaches. I have read that it can take up to 24 months to get it out of your system. I have gone passed that time frame and still suffering. I am so over it and will NEVER EVER have another infusion."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Prevention of Osteoporosis "I received Reclast infusion on December 26, 2019 for osteopenia. The next night I awoke with a terrible headache & was unable to ignore it. I took a pain reliever & slept for 4 hrs only to awaken again in severe head pain. The next day I still felt truly horrible. I went to the ER because it was a Saturday where I had an X-ray of my neck & the ER dr gave me 4 trigger point injections of lidocaine in the base of my skull. Still fighting pain! Additional trigger point injections. When does it end? A month so far of pain. Don’t do it!!"
