For Ulcerative Colitis "Started Entyvio in November 2018. In May 2019, began having muscle pain and fever of unknown origin. Went to the emergency room in August 2019, diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the bilateral femoral head. This type of bone disease is associated with high alcohol consumption and long-term high-dose steroid use. I have neither been a high consumer of alcohol nor had to use high-dose steroids. The doctors are denying it's Entyvio, but I'm 100% sure it has caused this avascular necrosis of the bilateral femoral head. I have been on my medication regimen since 2014 without any issues, with the exception of my ulcerative colitis being in a flare. I'm stuck because Entyvio helps for about 3 weeks."

For Ulcerative Colitis "Was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC) 3 years ago. Put off Entyvio again and again with my doctor, but he kept pushing it, and I finally gave in after a second hospitalization. I honestly can’t say if it helped my UC much at all. I lasted a little over a year on the infusions but wish I would have stopped it sooner. Tons of fatigue the day of/after infusions that seemed to steadily build with time into constant, extreme fatigue. Hair loss (that hasn’t returned), general autonomic/CNS symptoms - migraines, numbness, worsening insomnia, and aching all over my body. I’d lie in bed at night and feel like my brain was on fire. I’ve been off of it a year, and although my doc will deny lasting symptoms from the Entyvio, a lot of the neurological symptoms have remained. Wish I hadn’t given in to my doc and stayed off of it by any means necessary. I was supposed to start medical school and likely won’t be able to now. Would highly advise against using it."

For Ulcerative Colitis "After several years on Humira, I finally stopped receiving any benefit from it. So, Entyvio was suggested. I have been receiving Entyvio infusions for about 1.5 years. The medicine worked right away for me and continues to be very effective."

For Ulcerative Colitis "3rd infusion next week of Entyvio seems to be helping the ulcerative colitis (UC), but the attendant proctitis is very much the same (urgency, frequency). No major side symptoms but for serious fatigue. Why was I put on Entyvio before trying another drug?"

For Crohn's Disease "I have been on Entyvio for 1 year. I get horrible headaches for about a week after infusion. I have had Crohn's for 35 years, been on every medication, and I don't know if I should continue on it. I've had 4 bowel surgeries, and my poor body is still in pain and sick every day. I fight through and try to stay positive, but the headaches are really tough. Anyone else have headaches?"

For Ulcerative Colitis "Entyvio has worked wonders for me the entire time I’ve been taking it— I finally feel like my ulcerative colitis is under control, and I can finally breathe again for the first time in years without the anxiety or worry of my condition weighing me down. The infusion itself is the most inconvenient part, but the effects of the drug of severe colitis are definitely worth the inconvenience. I love it."

For Ulcerative Colitis "Been on Entyvio since December 2021 and have mild to moderate UC, started off with two IV infusions 2 weeks apart then was administering the Entyvio injections myself. I had 6 in total, the first two infusions were fine and the first two self-injections also fine, but started to get injection site reactions where my leg would swell up and become extremely itchy for 2 to 3 days. So my consultant put me back to IV infusion. My UC cleared up great, but now I have started to get these really weird side effects: severe joint and muscle pain. When I wake up, my body is so heavy and sore. I feel super groggy with sticky eyes every morning, can't walk on my left foot now due to tendon pain, also have constant dizziness and balance problems every day, I'm really freaked out by this and having numerous tests done. Stopping the infusions now, going in for a review. It's not worth these side effects and it affects my mental health, so be cautious. Wish I had listened to my partner saying to avoid this treatment."

For Crohn's Disease "I am 67, male, 40-plus years of Crohn's disease (CD). Several surgeries with only 5 feet of intestines remaining. I have been taking Entyvio for about a year now. It has worked to greatly slow the frequency and urgency of my diarrhea. However, the joint pain it caused in me has me debating whether it is worth it. I have never had joint pain before, and now I have trouble turning a doorknob!"

For Crohn's Disease "Started Entyvio in the middle of a flare-up. I've had the most side effects from this one as compared to all past treatments. Frequent moderate-severe sinus headaches. Flushing, hot feeling. Took 9 months before we saw improvement, but I was also on budesonide, which might have been the cause of the improvement. Unfortunately, it just doesn't seem worth it. I've heard better results for UC patients."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I started on Entyvio in 2020 when my GI doc was afraid I was going to have to have my colon removed. Nothing had worked up till then except prednisone. The Entyvio didn't improve my symptoms until after the 4th dose. Although my colonoscopies do show microscopic evidence of UC, I have not had symptoms in four years. I have an infusion every 8 weeks. I have not noticed any worrisome side effects. I am so grateful for this medication. Life was hell before I was prescribed Entyvio."

For Ulcerative Colitis "My doctor insisted on me taking Entyvio infusions for my colitis. I've been taking infusions for a year now, and now I regret ever taking this drug. It started off with my nose being stuffed up and runny like I had a cold. Then pain started in all my muscles and joints, now I can hardly move. I'm almost disabled with pain. I used to walk every day. Now I can't because of too much pain. Never again, it's not worth it."

For Crohn's Disease "Just had second treatment. My treatments have been every 2 weeks. Crohn's is still the same, no pain relief at all. One hour after infusion, nausea starts, diarrhea, joint and muscle pain, stomach pain, hot flashes, tired but trouble sleeping. Not sure if this is right for me."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I was on the clinical trial scheduled for 30 injections, after the second, I no longer had symptoms. I was given a third injection per the trial policy. I was then told I would no longer get the injections since it worked for me. I've been in remission since my last injection. I am still taking mesalamine. It has been several months and no symptoms. Thank God."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I have been on Entyvio for 4 years. Pancolitis. It helped right away. I have only had a day in the whole 4 years where I passed blood. This 4th year, I definitely have worse sinus problems, joint pain, fuzzy head feeling, but manageable. I am kind of more tired this last year on it, but I'm 42 going on 43, so maybe age-related. On 8 weeks still. It is a good drug. Colon cancer runs in my family, so I have to be vigilant. Overall, it works for me."

For Crohn's Disease "Entyvio has not improved my symptoms and is a really harsh medication. I am having serious side effects, including high blood pressure, blurred vision, back and throat pain, confusion and inability to concentrate, rash on my face, fatigue, and several others. I would not recommend this drug to anyone. I am meeting with my doctor tomorrow to discuss alternative treatment."

For Crohn's Disease "Entyvio wears off a week or two before the next infusion. I begin to get flare symptoms. I’m starting a six-week infusion schedule. Otherwise, after being on every conceivable biological, antibiotic, 5-ASA, steroids, and TNF blockers with the exception of Stelara, Entyvio seems to work well. Unfortunately, unlike Stelara, Entyvio only works on my gut and not on other complications from my Crohn's."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I've had ulcerative colitis for 16 years. I just got my first dose of Entyvio, and 3 days later, I had 2 seizures, and the doctor denied that Entyvio was the reason. Now my brain is foggy, and I don't feel normal. I will now have to go back to mesalamine. Beware and ask your doctor a lot of questions, as this drug is really unproven. I know a person that had seizures after the first dose of Humira, and the doctor also denied it had anything to do with Humira. These are similar compounds. Don't be an experiment."

For Crohn's Disease "I started Entyvio as my first biologic ever for Crohn's Disease. I was TERRIFIED of reactions and side effects. It turned out to be great. I get a headache and tired the day of the infusion, and that’s it for me! After my third dose (they say the magic dose), I noticed a vast improvement in my Crohn's symptoms! It also drastically decreased my CRP levels in a matter of weeks! Unfortunately, 14 days and 9 hours after my third dose, my lips started to swell. They are thinking it’s a delayed reaction and taking me off the drug. A chance that the swelling is just an extra-intestinal manifestation of my Crohn's (which Entyvio does not treat because it’s gut specific), but they don’t want to risk it. I also developed antibodies (apparently no one does!), but they weren’t at a level that I would’ve needed to stop, but for the lip swelling. I’m so sad to have to stop Entyvio :( it has been great, and I’m scared to start something else!"

For Ulcerative Colitis "Took Entyvio for 16 months after having a bad flare-up following the COVID vaccine. It took 4 months to induce remission, but it finally did. I've made the choice to stop the treatments now as I have been non-stop sick for the past 6 months with viral infections and bacterial infections. Developed shingles, numerous colds, flu, gastro bugs, and every little thing that my toddler brings home from creche, only I stay sick for weeks while he bounces back. The slightest cut or graze becomes infected. Really feel like my immune system has been hammered. For anyone who suffers from the awful joint pain, I found shiatsu works amazingly. I would recommend taking the drug for a limited time to induce remission. Try out holistic therapies, psychotherapy, and change your diet, and then get off this drug. It works, but I'd be worried about long-term effects."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I started Entyvio approximately 3 years ago. The first year was okay, not so much pain. From the start, I experienced not going to the bathroom enough but felt it was better than 16 times a day. A year or two after starting Entyvio, the headaches started and are worse and worse as time goes on. I am currently experiencing sore throats, knee and joint pain, constant and severe back, side, and stomach pain."

For Crohn's Disease "Extreme fatigue, pain in arms and legs, headaches, constipation. Full-time job trying to manage these symptoms, getting worse after 3 years of Entyvio. Crohn's is under control, but no energy to live life. Doctor says this is the best choice I have. I’m alive, but not living. I may stop Entyvio and take my chances. Tried supplements, no help."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I was having bloody diarrhea daily, and anything I ate sent me running for the bathroom. Entyvio has completely stopped my diarrhea. I do have some back pain, but I am also 50 years old. I eat healthily (no gluten, limit dairy, and limit red meat), and I take daily walks even if my back hurts. I feel like no matter what, there will be side effects, you just have to pick what you can live with. I will stay with Entyvio."

For Ulcerative Colitis "Entyvio has made my life considerably better. Other medications only minimally helped with my condition. My symptoms were so bad, I was not able to work any longer. I also wasn't able to spend time with family & friends. Now I'm able to again. I do experience side effects each time I have my infusion (headaches, fever, nausea & cramping) for the first few days after my infusion; but the 4-5 weeks after are great!"

For Ulcerative Colitis "DO NOT TAKE ENTYVIO!!! I would rather be bleeding from my butt right now than suffer as I have been for the last 3 weeks. I had my first infusion 4 weeks ago, and I'm regretting it big time. I have such bad immunity. I can't even fight off a common cold. This dirty thing has caused me shingles, and today I've now got chickenpox, apparently a common side effect when you look it up. My hair has gone brittle and falling out, I'm now wearing a wig I got off Amazon. My C-section scar has become inflamed and sore. I feel so tired, and all I want to do is sleep. I was better off having my flare-ups. Also, they don't tell you this, but it's online, Entyvio can wake up the HPV virus in your body if you have it, and you can get cervical cancer from it, along with about 6 other cancers. Stop taking it if you are on it. This is gonna kill us off. The dirty thing!"
