Flomax (tamsulosin) "Within a week of beginning the medication my energy plummeted. I also developed a tooth abscess which I have come to find out as a possible side effect. As far as benefits nothing is discernible. After walking out the flight of stairs in my gym heading for the treadmill I became so lightheaded and nauseous I had to go and sit down which is completely opposite of my normal conditioning."

Flomax (tamsulosin) "I have been on Tamsulosulin for about 6 months, I don't have any side effects, I did have retrograde ejaculation for about a week, but all has been well since. I do forget to take the 1 tablet occasionally. Actually forgot this weekend. I don't notice a marked difference with or without the drug, perhaps a slightly weaker stream and a slightly harder time passing urine, but I do wonder if its actually worth taking? I will discuss this with my Urologist. So give it a go if your Dr says so it dose help a bit."

Flomax (tamsulosin) "I don't know if this medicine would have worked or not because after three days I was so weak and dizzy from low blood pressure that I stopped taking it. Better to get up 1-2 x a night to pee than pass out from walking across the house. If you have low-to-normal blood pressure, watch out. Also tried doxazosin/Cardura before this with similar results."

Flomax (tamsulosin) "Been taking Flomax for about 4 years. Works great for me. Still go 4 or 5 times during the day, 0 to 2 at night. It's great to not have pain and difficulty when starting to pee. Thanks to those who took up the cause and found this medicine."

Flomax (tamsulosin) "Took Flomax for 1 1/2 years for an enlarged prostate. On the positive side, it did help ease the flow of urine, though not significantly on the frequency. However, my blood pressure kept dropping and on my daily walks I noticed I would often feel like I'm going to pass out or faint. This was happening 4 or 5 times per hour, so I asked my doctor if I could withdraw the medication to see if these attacks or syncope would go away. After 3 days I noticed that the symptoms had gone. It's about 1 month now without an attack. So my personal diagnosis, for what it is worth, is that Flomax can reduce blood pressure enough to cause symptoms akin to syncope."

Flomax (tamsulosin) "Taking a 0.4 mg capsule resulted in side effects that made me want to stop taking Flomax. I now open a capsule and pour out half of the contents, resulting in a 0.2mg dose in the re-sealed capsule and another 0.2mg dose that I put into a tiny piece of dough. I am 62 yrs, had 2 types of radiation treatment for prostate cancer 7 yrs ago; am taking Flomax to counter the feeling of urgency to urinate frequent urinations (due to the bladder not fully emptying during urination). Flomax side effects = headaches, insomnia, stuffy sinus; however I need to stay on Flomax longer (than 1 week) to make a definite conclusion. 7 yrs ago I had no bad side effects but stopped due to price of Flomax."

Flomax (tamsulosin) "I was prescribed Flomax several years ago and experienced only ejaculation problems. I'm 82 now and several of the many side effects have surfaced. 1. Rapid heartbeat as high as 167. 2. Low blood pressure (causing fainting symptoms). It doesn't seem to have affected my libido but the watery ejaculation is a nuisance. If you read the complete list of side effects you'll undoubtedly find yourself in there somewhere. Then you can make an informed decision on what's best for you. Me? I'm stopping as of right now!"

"I was diagnosed with chronic urethritis, had an issues with weak stream, failure to fully empty bladder, frequent peeing at night. My urologist prescribed me this medicine (tamsolin). Initially after a day those symptoms seemed to relieve, but I notice the side effects of this medicine in my body so terribly, like dizziness stuffy nose, severe fatigue bodily weakness, gasping for air when sleeping, tooth sensitivity, and difficult time falling as sleep at night, I consider to set a appointment to my urologist to consult this matter."

Flomax (tamsulosin) "Must be careful with flomax side effects and check for interactions with other BP/heart meds. My conditions cleared with first pill. BPH was induced by other infection and allowed antibiotics to work by restoring the urine flaw. I stopped after the second pill. It should be made available at much lower dose for induced BPH treatment."

Flomax (tamsulosin) "About a week ago, my urologist started me on Flomax for urinary problems. I have muscular dystrophy and have to use my muscles maximally to do normal activities of daily living. Several days after starting Flomax I couldn't do many things I need to do every day. Flomax weakens ALL muscles, not just those near the prostate. DO NOT TAKE FLOMAX if you have muscular dystrophy. Flomax (tamsulosin) "I had difficulty urinating due to enlarged prostate. And also had urinary retention. Flomax solved my problem and I now have very strong stream and am easily able to void. Very relieved. The only downside is retrograde ejaculation. No semen comes out at all. But I'm not in any relationship and nor am I trying to get anyone pregnant so it isn't an issue for me"

"Been taking tamsulosin for 3 years now. Diagnosed with BPH. Stopped the night time bathroom trips and now I only urinate 2-3 times a day! Seem to have lost the feeling of needing to urinate until my bladder starts screaming I’m full! Then I have to go right then! Experience some side effects like shortness of breath and sensitivity of teeth along with unstable balance and loss of eye sight!! I’m 59 and was still sexually active till I started this medication!"

Flomax (tamsulosin) "Helped somewhat with ruination, however sexual ejaculation got crazy and erection was short lived, even with Viagra. Dizziness is a very big problem, especially when golfing. Had a rash this morning just under my pectoral muscles, itching. I have been taking this med about 4-5 weeks. Call in to the Doc now, waiting....."

"I am 88 and my urinary symptoms (frequency, urgency and burning) were wearing me to a frazzle. Two nurse practitioners, my primary physician and a urologist were unable to diagnosis the cause of my symptoms. The urologist prescribed Tamsulosin which I have been taking about a week. Frequency and urgency have lessen and burning is practically gone. My penis size is considerably larger (I am really big!) and it stays that way all the time. I can get a good erection with direct stimulation, but I have no semen whatsoever. Orgasm is good so, frankly, I don't miss the mess and don't want any more kids!"

Flomax (tamsulosin) "After the invasive bladder exam, Wednesday I was prescribed Flomax. I went directly the pharmacy tho I was offered a cheaper generic, I took flomax. I took only 3 pills (the low dosage) over 3 days. I did not like it. I was provoked to urinate almost 30 times in 24 hours. It’s a gut punch -squeeze on your innards to get urine out, with forced straining, grimacing. It is hard to describe the discomfort / pain, and it lingers a little after. The genitals are sensitized by this drug. More sensitive than before, not good. Just no. After speaking to nurses and pharmacists (who went back and forth on this ) I stopped after 3 doses. I used sleeping pills to sleep through most of the last 3 nights. I couldn’t leave the house until yesterday because I’d have to go. The effects of the drug aren’t out of my system since taking the last dose on Sunday - today is Thursday night."

Flomax (tamsulosin) "I was experiencing severe back pain, in which I was barely able to turn my head to the right or the left. I did an extensive research and found out that the probable cause was my prostate. I consulted with my Doctor who confirmed that it was my prostate. I asked my Doctor to explain the connection between my back and neck pain, but she got irritated. She prescribed Flomax, which has been a nightmare for me. After taking the Flomax I was able to pee more freely, which has been a problem for me. Now I cannot hold my urine for long when I want to pee. Secondly, I do have a dry orgasm. did some research and found out that Flomax will do this. It is irreversible. Based on reviews here, it confirms my fears."

Flomax (tamsulosin) ".4mg! You’d figure nah thats nothing. But! After being on it for 4 months, I have never felt so crappy in my life. In March 22 I had covid. Thought “well must be have some long covid stuff happening here”. So I started troubleshooting and talking to groups here in Canada and I wasn't as “bad” as the others I spoke to. Then I started investigating. Coming here and reading the reviews I realized that the symptoms started the same time I started Dlomax. I stopped taking the med and within 72 hours ALL symptoms went away. ALL of them. My energy is back. I can breathe. I can maintain an erection. And release an amount of semen thats in line with before. So I figured go natural and stay natural with supplements and so far (for a mere 72 hours) has been amazing difference!! Take a med to relieve ONE problem and get 9 or 10 other problems? Nope. Besides if I need a little extra time to drain my bladder properly…the people waiting can do just that..wait!"

Flomax (tamsulosin) "Doctor asked me to try flomax as I was making five or six trips a night to the bathroom. I am a 72 year old man who was tired and needed help. I read the reviews and most on this site were negative to some degree. In my case having taken this drug for 3 weeks I have had no side effects and I am sleeping 7/8 hours without having to get up. In my case this drug works, I hope the benefits are long lasting. I am reviewing this drug as a contributor to the national health service of the UK and as such payment is not required."

"Started working within a couple of hours. Reduced going for a pee from approx 3 times in 2 hours to once every 2 hours (and usually up to 4 hours more than once a day) so very successful results. Does not aid sleeping through the night but slight improvement in number of times getting up so far (only using for a week). Greatly reduced semen production is only side effect for me."

Flomax (tamsulosin) "I just started this, and then read reviews here. I'm REALLY concerned. One guy said that he has good luck taking Flo Max every other day. If he reads this, do you get the side effects of sexual dysfunction, like every single other guy has mentioned here? I decided to try this and it seems to be working so far. Has anyone stopped this and had their sexual functioning return to normal? I wonder if this is just an effect of lowered blood pressure. Besides, I cannot afford this stuff. I've done a lot of research on natural alternatives. I'm going to try these, and at least right now am optimistic, as user reviews are very positive."
