"I have severe Narcolepsy, Cataplexy, Fibromyalgia, and Migraine (they all feed off Narcolepsy). I have had these disorders since I was a teenager although I was only recently diagnosed properly. I have tried multiple stimulants, antidepressants, and pain medications with little to no relief of symptoms. I tried Sunosi at 75mg for a few months before increasing to 150mg. I have been on the larger dose for about a year before my heart rate and blood pressure raised. I ended up having multiple seizures due to a sudden severe spike in blood pressure for no reason at all. I no longer take this medication and will be trying Zyrem. The theory is that the medication stored to much adrenaline in my brain overdosing my body causing near death seizures. Please monitor your blood pressure regularly even if you feel fine. It will hit out of nowhere. Otherwise, the medication helped quite a bit with agitation, increased heart rate, and insomnia being the noticeable side effects."

"I suffer from narcolepsy. When I used Sunosi for the first time, I can say it was effective from the first hour ! That was like magic! But when I had to wake up so early at 5a.m. it wasn't enough for the rest of the day, I was getting very tired in the middle of the day. I contacted my doctor and he told me to double the dose from 75mg to 150mg if it wasn't enough for the rest of the day. But on the contrary, it got worse and after 2 weeks of 150mg of Sunosi I felt as if the effect had become reversed! So he told me to return to 75mg. Now I feel like a normal person, there are some days when I wake up late so I don't take Sunosi to avoid staying up at night, but at the other times when I use it I can do my daily activities normally without having to sleep all day. For me, I didn't see any noticeable side effects from it such as high blood pressure, that I monitored before and after using the drug for 10 days and nothing happened so far. I have been using it for about 6 months."

"Have tried Provigil, Nuvigil, and now Sunosi, all max doses, over the recommended doses, with Dr. instruction. They work for about a month but then the cons greatly outweigh the benefits for me. Either they only last 4 hours then I crash and burn, or I'm still struggling to stay awake, or I feel sick, or have brain fog and am unmotivated and totally useless. This has been very difficult for someone who has to work two jobs to make ends meet. I did not want to have to use the stronger stimulants because addiction runs in my family. And the crashes are harder, so I hear. But I don't think I have a choice. I don't want to live like this. Hopefully this works better for others but based on these reviews here, seems like majority say not really."

"I was put on Sunosi 75mg after my insurance refused to cover my Adderall XL to help me with my Narcolepsy. Long story short , I feel tired as if I’m not taking anything. I take Sunosi at about 6:30 am and by 10:00 am I’m feeling like I need a nap. This medication cash price was $868.25 for 30 tabs .. copay was $9.00. Seriously… !! This medication has not helped but I have not had any side effects."

"I have chronic fatigue. We are not all the same. I get about 3 hours of awakeness and then sleep until about 8 p.m. Then by 11: 00 I sleep for an hour and a half unless I take diazepam. At maximum dosage I get 5-6 hours sleep. What works for some will not work for others. We know the source of the problem - hypothalamic dysfunction. I go this week because the left vestibular artery is missing which feeds oxygen and blood to the brain. For most doctors this is all a big guess. Sunosi was my 4th medication to basically fail. But for others it may work well."

"I was diagnosed with narcolepsy back at the beginning of 2021, I've been on modafinil, phentermine, and now on Sunosi 150mg and just started Adderall 10mg twice a day. It's only been 4 days but so far no real changes. I feel awesome at 5:30am, take my medications and all is good till about 9:30am, then all heck breaks out. My eyes start with the cement feeling, my eyesight starts with the kaleidoscope episodes, I fall asleep for about 30-40 seconds, my whole body jerks real hard and feels like I've been electrocuted and I'm awake and back to normal. This affects my life so much and it's so frustrating because others don't understand what is happening. I video'd myself at work so I could show my doctor exactly what was happening. I hope this combination of meds finally works."

"I have narcolepsy and was on armodafinil for 3 months and it worked great at first but then all of a sudden it stopped working. My doctor gave me samples of Sunosi to try and I didn’t think it was working well at first…but then I went back to the armodafinil and it was like a 180 negative change. I had forgotten how bad it was without (working) medication! So I tried Sunosi at 150mg for 2 weeks and everything was better. No side effects. Some of the reviews here worried me, but I haven’t experienced anything negative yet. I am praying this continues to work because I am absolutely miserable without medication."

"Been dealing with symptoms of a sleep disorder for 15+ years and have now been diagnosed with narcolepsy with cataplexy along with idiopathic insomnia. After trying armodafinil and having adverse reactions I was then subjected to try Sunosi. I had half a tablet daily for a week then went to a full tablet after that. This medication helped me almost instantly. I had energy I was able to think clearly and able to process multiple things happening in my environment. It did tho cause insomnia I am getting roughly 4-5 hrs of sleep in a 24 hr span. Today marks day 22 of Sunosi and then effects of the medication is reducing. I’ve been consistent with taking the medication and have no alcohol or drug use. My emotions are haywire and I’m spouting anger outbursts. I’m overwhelmed by almost nothing. I’m trying to not get defeated or angry. I just thought I had been given an answer to a prayer and now it’s not working. I’m hoping that my dr will be able to provide help"

"I have struggled with sleeping for more than 20 years, I'm 55. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about three years ago, but CPAP did nothing to make me feel better. After an additional sleep study, I was diagnosed with narcolepsy as well. Typically would fall asleep around 11 pm wake up at 3:30 am or 4:00 am, would feel fine until around 10 am, then be exhausted all day until bed. Very difficult to focus and complete tasks. Started on Sunosi about 10 days ago and have noticed a huge difference. I feel much more alert, not in constant brain fog, much more focused, and motivated to complete tasks. I forgot to take it one day and definitely noticed the difference. So far (short period of time, but hopeful) it has been great for me. I feel it about 45 minutes after I take it and it seems to last me all day. Luckily, I have not had any side effects so far."

"I absolutely love Sunosi and have been taking it for 3 years. It helps significantly with my excessive daytime sleepiness and I have no side effects other than keeping in mind to not drink too much caffeine with it or I’ll get jittery. I take 150mg though, 75 didn’t do enough for me."

"Sunosi has been a life-changer for me. I suffer from narcolepsy, and my doctor added Sunosi to my therapy. It has improved my ability to maintain wakefulness. My only complaint is that my pharmacy does not carry it and has to order it every month, and I sometimes experience interruptions in my medication."

"Personally, Sunosi has been life-changing for me. I was diagnosed with narcolepsy in college and tried a few other stimulants that only left me sick to my stomach, jittery, and constantly throwing up. My doctor gave me Sunosi about 4-5 years ago, and it makes a huge difference in my quality of life. No, it doesn't always last all day, but I am able to wake up (I take it around 7-8 am) normally, and it clears my brain fog. 75 mg didn't do anything for me, so I've been on 150 mg since I first started it. I do supplement with 5 mg Adderall when needed, such as in the winter and if I have to sit at my desk all day. I don't have any side effects either. I actually ran out today as I'm waiting for my new insurance to approve it, and I can tell a huge difference without it even though I have taken 15 mg Adderall. I have type 2 narcolepsy, so no cataplexy or random sleep spells, but my EDS (Excessive Daytime Sleepiness) is very bad. Hope this helps someone who is wanting to try it!"

"It takes a while for it to work. I also do not metabolize it very well. I have to take it every day, and so if I miss the dose due to oversleeping, I have a very short window to take it. After that time has passed, it's too late. I'm a single parent, so it's very inconvenient. It increases the incidence of insomnia and this year I have had a significant increase in migraine breakthrough as well. However, it has been available whereas the generic Adderall has not been. This was a better option to stay awake and somewhat functional than nothing at all. But I will request to switch back once the shortage is corrected. This is just not working. Also, my insurance barely covered this, and I will be losing my coverage at the end of the year since I am disabled and there was a mix-up with the state and the end of some pandemic funding."
