Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "Took this medicine along with Uroxatral for slow stream and urinary frequency, both secondary to radiation cystitis caused by brachytherapy. VESIcare caused slight mouth dryness at 5 mg, severe mouth dryness and bad taste at 10 mg."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "It worked with taking another overactive bladder medicine. But eventually, I experienced severe fatigue, blurred vision, weight gain, and mostly, it caused me intimacy problems. I discontinued it, got it all back."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "I have had OAB for a couple of years now. I am 65 and am getting up 3-5 times a night. (This is my BIGGEST complaint.) I do not leak. This I am thankful for. I was prescribed Mirabegron and took it for 6 weeks and had side effects worse than I wanted. I went off it and my urologist prescribed Vesicare. I am reluctant to try this after reading the side effects that come with this medication. I am thinking just living with this is better than the horrible side effects. Wish there was a natural cure. Again, the BIG PHARM making lots of money. Thanks for everyone's comments. Even if some people feel it was helpful, I think for most people it isn't worth it. OR, at least for me. I do not have to even pay a lot for any of these meds (thanks to our wonderful Medicare in Ontario, Canada), and still don't think I will even try this."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "Been having cold-like symptoms. Running nose, sneezing, stomach pain, constipation, heart beating too fast. I've been taking only 4 days but stopped today. Side effects are too much, and they're making me miserable."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "After 5 days of taking VESIcare, I feel like I have the flu. My throat is sore, my mouth is dry, vision is blurry, and my stomach is upset. I was prescribed 10's. I am stopping them today. I also am having trouble emptying my bladder. I won't take this again."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "This is my second day on VESIcare. I will not take it another day. My throat and tongue are on fire, and I feel very nervous and anxious. The first day it did help my overactive bladder, but the side effects are not worth the benefit. This was a sample from my doctor, so I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "Caused dry mouth, headaches, weight gain, and pain in lower back. Now seeing a physio as my back hurts so much. I'm on 10 mg a day. Within one month, running to the toilet was normalized, and I slept all night without needing to get up numerous times. Someone else mentioned the effect on eyesight. I have experienced this too but hadn't thought to link it to the drugs."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "My experience with this drug wasn't pleasant. I got completely blocked after 5 days of taking the pills and was unable to do both number 1 and 2. Even my period was late, which does not normally happen. I ended up in an emergency room with severe stomach pains. The other side effects, such as lack of concentration, tiredness, and headache, were easy to deal with, it is just a matter of getting used to them. I would have stayed on those pills because I felt less need to urinate than I used to, which finally has given me relief, however, I had no other choice but to stop taking them and take pills to help me move the urine and bowel motion out of my body."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "The relief from 'leakage' was moderate to good, but I continued to have to use feminine hygiene pads. I was 'down' to six changes a day, which was a real improvement. However, I had no idea what real constipation was about and how severe it could be until VESIcare. All in all, the cost/benefit ratio just wasn't there. Speaking of cost, the price was outrageous."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "I have had good experiences with this drug. I do not take it every day, only when traveling and participating in sports. The original VESIcare works well. The generic made me nervous and restless. My pharmacy only carries the generic version."

For Urinary Frequency "Started taking Vesicare in March 2019 (brand name). After a few weeks, it started helping a lot. My urge to go subsided, and life was almost normal again. When the generic version was released, my pharmacy filled it as generic. Took the generic for a month and a half, and I was right back where I started... constant urge to go. Went back on the brand name, and all was well again... until my insurance stopped paying anything for the brand name because a generic is available. Over $400 a month for 30 pills! Trying a generic from a different manufacturer now and hoping it's better than the first one I tried. No relief yet, but still hoping. Rating below is for generic."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "This medication initially was very helpful in helping me get my urinary problems under control. During the first month of treatment, it caused extreme dry mouth and dry eyes. By week six, it caused heartburn and an upset stomach. At first, I did not make the connection between the drug and my symptoms, but after thinking about it, the possibility of VESIcare being the culprit became very real to me. I used this website to confirm my suspicions. I have decided to inform my doctor and curtail daily usage, lest things get worse."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "I took this medication. Within 3 days, I had an extreme headache, my left arm was numb, and I woke up to my body feeling hot. I started feeling spasms in my lower left bottom and leg. Pain in my left leg and flu-like symptoms."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "It was helping with the frequency. I still have bad days. Started it on March 16. I also have a problem with constipation. I don't eat or drink enough, have lost 2 and a half stone. As I live in the UK, I don't have to pay full price, just a prescription charge. I find I have become obsessed and anxious about it not continuing to give me some relief. I will be going back to the doctors for more help with this distressing condition."

For Overactive Bladder "Solifenacin is an awful drug. I took it for ten days, and the first day I had a dry mouth. It did help with frequency, but on the second day, I felt as if I was carrying a heavy suitcase on my shoulders. Then the nausea and stomach pains started. Worse after I ate, and then I lost all appetite. I thought the side effects might reduce, but on the ninth day, I just felt worse. Peeing all the time might be better. I am not sure if it was just this drug or a combination of all my other meds with it, but I never felt like that before I took it. It does say that the side effects will wear off, but I couldn't even work because of them, so I decided to stop taking it. The horrible side effects last three days to get it totally out of my system, but I will never take it again. Sorry."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "I’ve been taking Vesicare for 10 years, prescribed by a hospital specialist for an overactive bladder. It was brilliant - I was able to go to work without worrying about not getting to the toilet in time, and I could go out and enjoy myself again! Then after about 6 years, my Vesicare became the generic solifenacin - I complained to the chemist who said it was exactly the same - it wasn’t, it was a generic version (cheaper)! Now it is labeled as Solifenacin Succinct (even cheaper version of the original) and it’s CRAP! Not only can I not get to the toilet in time, the wee is running down my leg as soon as I stand up! I’ve complained to my GP (in writing), but he blames the pharmacist - who knew that a pharmacist could override a hospital consultant and give you the latest cheapest version of your medication even when they don’t work? What a waste of NHS money! And millions of women are suffering! Original Vesicare is not available on NHS - Solifenacin Succinct 0 Original Vesicare 10"

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "Besides the high cost, the effectiveness of this medication is diminished due to the side effects. I started on this medication for nine days and stopped. Constipation was the primary side effect almost on the first day, the worst I ever had, in addition to abdominal pain, slight headache, and bloating. My doctor did warn me about the side effects."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "I have an overactive bladder. My urologist prescribed Vesicare in 5 mg and 10 mg. I thought it was working fine until I had severe pains in my chest. I went to the ER today, and they could not find any cardiac issues, so they are keeping me overnight for observation. Not sure if it is the drug or something else. Don't think I will be using it in the future."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "Since December of 2017, I began to experience IC-like symptoms. As my symptoms continued to get worse, about three weeks ago, I ended up in the ER due to a horrible flare-up. After a pointless night in the ER, the doctor prescribed me this medication to help with my bladder spasms. Before taking this medication, I would have a flare-up 1-2 times a week and NEVER daily. Coincidentally, as soon as I began to take this medication, I began to experience flare-ups daily. These flare-ups were HORRIBLE flare-ups and worse than I have ever felt before. I blame it on this medication since it is the only 'new' thing right now. I put two and two together and got off the medicine after a few weeks of consumption. My flare-ups have subsided in pain significantly but are still occurring more often than usual. I do not recommend this medication and think it is one that is worth skipping over."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "Found myself getting up 4-8 times a day and needing the toilet a lot during the day. First prescribed 5 mg, and it did absolutely nothing, so the doctor upped them to 10 mg and still nothing except constipation. So I've stopped them and will just have to deal with it."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "I have PPMS/Multiple Sclerosis and have been on .5 mg for 2 years. It has helped considerably. Yes, some dry mouth, but drink more water. I'm a 54-year-old male, and with MS, I cannot honestly tell you that I have less or more joint pain, as this is what MS is all about, but wetting my pants was no fun! I really can't complain much about side effects, but would like to try to try every other day. Oh, and I still can get an erection! Just need a wife to help on that one!"

For Urinary Frequency "Been on solifenacin for two years following prostate operation. A recent eyesight test showed what looks like starburst behind my eye, suggesting high blood pressure. GP ordered me to stop taking the tablets, and although only a week in, my blood pressure is slowly but surely returning to something like an acceptable level."

Solifenacin for Urinary Frequency "I started taking this medication, and within a few days I noticed the bottom of my feet were getting sensations like air bubbles. At first, that did not bother me, but then it turned painful. As soon as I stopped, the bubbles were less intense and went away after a few more days. The accidents I had were still there. I did not seem to have any effect on the frequency either."

Solifenacin for Urinary Incontinence "I have used VESIcare for over nine years. Only recently did it become ineffective. Also, I have glaucoma, and my eye doctor said I was just fine to use it. I had no side effects, maybe a tiny bit of vision blurriness, but nothing significant, and my eyes adjusted; I also attributed it to the glaucoma and cataracts, which have since been removed. Within the last few months (after nine years), I have had several accidents, which I attribute to stressful situations. My doctor has decided I need to try another drug (I am SO anti-drugs!) that he feels will be more effective. He gave me a week's samples. I will try tomorrow. Yes, VESIcare used to be $45 a month; now, it's $135. The new drug -$140. I am blessed to afford it. So worth it."
