VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I started taking 5mg 2 months ago and by the 2nd night I had my first dry night in months and even on the first night it was significantly better. It has completely changed my life. Unfortunately in this last week I have had 2 episodes of incontinence and have become concerned that I might need to increase the dose. Initially I had dry eyes, blurred vision, headache with some nausea but this settled. I am left with blurred vision sometimes. I willingly put up with the side effects as the alternative is untenable."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I tried Detrol LA for quiet some time, but still had "accidents". I switched to VESIcare and have not had any accidents. I have been taking it for over a year now and I am very pleased with the results."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I have had OAB for a couple of years now. I am 65 and am getting up 3-5 times a night.(this is my BIGGEST complaint) I do not leak . This I am thankful for . I was prescribed Mirabegron and took it for 6 wks and had side effects worse than I wanted. I went off it and my urologist prescribed Vesicare. I am reluctant to try this after reading the side effects that come with this medication. I am thinking just living with this is better than the horrible side effects. Wish there was a natural cure. Again the BIG PHARM making lots of money. thanks for everyones' comments. Even if some people feel it was helpful I think for most people it isn't worth it. OR, at least for me. I do not have to even pay a lot for any of these meds ( thanks to our wonderful medicare in Ont Canada). and still don't think I will even try this."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "My bladder was out of control ! Having to urinate almost every 45 min to an hour. Seriously, I was going 25-30 times a day. It was awful. The Dr put me on Vesicare 5mg. It worked great from the 2-3 day..however after a week or so my symptoms came back. He decided to put me on the 10 mg. At first my mouth and eyes were very dry, I almost stopped taking it. I decided to give it some time and see what happened. The drug was a life saver for me, the dry mouth and eyes went away after the 2nd week. Constipation was kind of an issue but I started using Miralax and had no problems at all. Well that is until about 3-4 weeks of taking the 10 mg....It seems as though my symptoms are coming back."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "My side effects from vesicare are constipation, dry mouth, dizziness, sore throat, itching burning. I have some reduction in urinary frequency but not enough to justify side effects. Took for 35 days"

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "VESIcare seems to be helping. Took Detrol LA for 2 months with some improvement. Changed to VESIcare for a month and went from going 18 times a day to 10 to 12, and only getting up once most nights. I am only 36 and still active and the only side effect I have noticed is I have stopped sweating. Real pain with my job (I'm a firefighter) but just try to think ahead and take measures to cool off as quick as I can."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "Just started taking Vesicare for Light Incontinence and it does not help. Have urges to pee all night, and cannot get to sleep at all. I start to rest really well and then before I get to sleep I have to pee again. I cut back on liquids at night, but vesicare is making all symptoms worse. I cannot do this one more night. This will be last night I take it. Its 1:20 in the morning and not being able to sleep again. I will just have to stop it as I need rest."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "Vesicare 10 mg is the only med that helped me control my OAB however at the price of $544 for 90 day supply I just couldn't afford to keep up with it. Will try those Botox injections as a last resort. So sad that I cannot afford my meds."

For Overactive Bladder "I started Vesicare (generic-Solifenacin Succinate) three months ago for OAB. At first the medication worked, 10 mg daily, with my urge incontinence, so I was pleased at the results. After a week, I began to experience dry mouth, and constipation was a challenge, but I was also able to 'deal' with it due to the results from this medication, so I recognized that would be a trade off. But when the lightheadedness started, on and off, that caused an additional problem that was far more challenging than dry mouth and constipation. The dosage was dropped to 5mg on one day and 10mg on another, alternating. The problem persisted and after three months, I found that this medication was not working to its full effect. I called the doctor and stopped and after three days all side effects were gone-no more dry mouth, bathroom issues normal and lightheadedness GONE! This medication made me feel terrible!! The side effects outweigh the benefits from this medication."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "Have been on Vesicare for 3 or 4 years now and am on 10mg a day. I remember the doctor saying that dry mouth can be a side effect but now after reading all these comments about constipation and pain etc I'm a little concerned that she never warned me about these, although I have never experienced these if I had done I would have not connected it to being a side effect from the medication. I notice that if I stop taking it for a week or so things get bad and I have no control whatsoever. I feel like I will be on this medication for a very very long time but I guess its worth it. Even though I am taking 10mg a day I still go toilet a lot but I have some control back which is great, people still comment on the amount of times I go toilet."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I'm 21 and recently started taking VESIcare, at first it was 10mg but i literally could not poop i would go 2-3 days without pooping and had severe heartburn. My doctor lowered it to 5mg and it helps a bit with the urinating but i do notice in situations where i'm stressed it doesn't seem to work as well but when i'm relaxed its perfectly fine. Also, with the 5mg i'm still having constipation and only poop about every other day and i'm still having bad heartburn every few weeks or so. I'm not sure if i want to stick with this medication or not because i should not be having this bad of heartburn at 21."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I have used Vesicare 5mg for 14 days and it worked well this first week. Now I'm back to wearing pads and I'm experiencing cloudy urine with a hint of blood, blurred vision and a 5 lb weight gain. I've stopped this medicine, obviously it's not right for me. Hoping to try something else."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I was put on Vesicare after experiencing urinary incontinence while running. To the point that I could not hold it in before I got home. I also loss my urine during sex and was starting to have to rush to the bathroom within 2 minutes of feeling the need to go. Vesicare worked great! I go half as often, can wait up to 45 minutes before finding a toilet and can run “home free”! However, the side effects are horrible. Feeling bloated, constipated and feeling like I drank an ocean of salt water - all the time, day and night. Nothing could relieve this. I tried everything from laxatives to curcuma to fibre and water to changing my diet. The pharmacist said that was to be expected. But it was too much for me so I quit the meds. Two days later, side effects are still in full swing but all my symptoms are back! Quite discouraging. I am a fit person, 46, no kids and sexually active. If this medication had less severe side effects I would give it a 10."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I want to give this a 0). Vesicare worked amazing for first few days - my bladder felt "strong" and pelvic floor exercises were actually fun and easy to do (my bladder seemed to want me to do them). However, after only a week drug stopped working, at all. Gave it 6-7 good months trial period, put on 5-6kgs excess weight without explanation. Product also gave me severe headaches, dry mouth and was useless. After going off of it I lost the weight without any change to diet in about 3 months (thank Gaawwwwdddd). Too scared to get Bladder sling, still thinking about that one. No other options now other than to go wee wee all the way home in my Icon undies and use a pad when peeing myself really cannot be tolerated any longer. I am in a safe/normal weight range, healthy and fit; humiliating."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "Started 3 nights ago, 5 mg. I take in the evening after dinner. On the first morning I was constipated but no side effects since. I notice a huge difference. My pads are staying dry. I smoke and when I cough is the only time I leak now. My insurance covers it and my co-pay is only $3.65. I can't wait to see if this works long term. I'm lucky to have no side affects as I seem to be allergic to everything. My metabolism seems to be slower than most people so I think the 5 mg's is enough for me. I worry about weight gain because I'm already considered obese. Before I started taking it I would leak for no reason at all. I would have to use 4 or 5 pads a day. Nights were horrible would wake up soaked. Not any more."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I have suffered from incontinence and over active bladder for many years and put up with it. I was prescribed a 5mg dose from the hospital doctor and although it didn't help with incontinence, it did help with a better urination flow and less frequent visits to the toilet, they upped the dose to 10 by the physiotherapist I was seeing about an overactive bladder and incontinence. I have had bad side effects of, pebble constipation, feeling very unwell with stuffed up nose, sore throat, very tired, stomach upset including acid, chest pain and have now had the meds stopped by my GP as it could be causing my blood pressure to drop. I was really happy in the beginning with the benefits of the vesicare medication but the bad outweighs the good."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I am a 38 year old female diagnosed with MSK, Overactive Bladder and Stomach Ulcers. I've been prescribed Vesicare and have been taking it for a few weeks. I have noticed that I'm not getting up as much at night but I still sometimes have to run to the restroom during the day. My concerns after taking this med is I'm not feeling like myself. And after reading the side effects I have noticed that I'm experiencing everything listed literally. I'm also afraid it may be interacting with my other meds. This medication is expensive also, don't think I should continue to use it especially since I'll have to take it for the remainder of my life. Continuing on my search for relief."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Incontinence "I started out with 5 mg and it helped 90%. After three months I asked for 10 mg's and I've been taking it for about 2 months but I don't think its helping as much as the 5mg was. Odd. I plan on asking to go back down to the 5 mg. My side affects are stuffed up nose and dry mouth. The side effects were not bothersome until about 2 weeks ago. Stuffy nose is driving me nuts. I have a humidifier running, air purifier running and took some sinus congestion medicine....not working. Weather is getting colder here and just starting to use the heat...I think that is what did my nose in with the combination of vesicare. Don't get me wrong...this medication is awesome. It's such a relief. The only time I leak now is when I cough."

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I've been on this medication for one week (10mg) and have found it to work quite well. I'm not running to the bathroom constantly and I am able to hold my urine until I can get there when I do have to go. I am experiencing dry mouth, which I hope will go away, and I have been a little drowsy but neither of these side effects are unmanageable. I started taking Metamucil 2x daily and have not been constipated yet. I will keep taking it but may try cutting the pills in half to make the prescription last longer (expensive!)"

VESIcare (solifenacin) for Urinary Frequency "I have been struggling with Urinary urgency and leakage for at least a year. I finally gave in and saw a Urologist. Just 1 pill gave me the relief I needed. I am so grateful! The only side effect is dry mouth. It is well worth it! Just 5 mg. once daily has been my dose. What a great product! Thank you! Now I can get on with my life!"

For Urinary Frequency "I’m in my mid-twenties and struggled with an Overactive bladder (OAB) for ten years. Once I finally got a doctor to listen to my concerns, do testing, and get a diagnosis - I was put on solifenacin (10 mg daily). Solifenacin has changed my life. Before solifenacin, I consistently felt the need to pee but didn’t have any urine. I would spend a minimum of 15 minutes waiting until I did need to pee and even then, I still struggled. It burned when I urinated and my bladder often felt heavy. After taking solifenacin, my quality of life has increased significantly and my time spent in the bathroom has decreased significantly. I went from being unable to go on drives longer than 30 minutes to being able to go on 3+ hour road trips."
