For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After 1 year of taking this, I began suffering from severe abdominal pain. A couple of months later, while watching TV, I heard an Ozempic commercial that included warnings about gallbladder problems and pancreatitis. I immediately stopped using it and went to my doctor. I had to have my gallbladder removed. I gained the 50 pounds back that I had lost the previous year. Although it was effective, it was not worth the side effects."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Ozempic for weight loss is AMAZING! I have tried everything for weight loss since 1985. Ozempic by far is a miracle for me. It immediately blocks cravings, appetite, and thoughts about food! I started June 2, 2023 and today, July 13, 2023, I lost 22.3 lbs. This is a 6-week success story! I took 0.25 for the first week and then 0.5 weekly on Sundays. I have stayed with Weight Watchers, mainly selecting 'free foods'. If you are eating out with friends this summer, remember that rich, high-fat content foods will give you immediate abdominal distress (cramps, diarrhea). So, I've learned to go through restaurant menus and find something less distressful to eat so that I can enjoy time with friends and family. I have Zofran for nausea, but for me, the nausea passes and I do not use anything for nausea. Stay active at least walk! It's free! Keep drinking water and add a packet of electrolytes due to this extreme heat this summer! Check-in with my doctor on a regular basis."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I currently take 1000 mg of Metformin twice a day, Lantus at night, and Humalog before I eat a meal and snacks. I started taking 0.25 mg of Ozempic on 01/03/2020. By the first evening, I was cramped up so bad, I didn’t want to eat or move. This really didn’t change for 3 weeks. At that time I called my Doctor and told her what I had experienced & then we moved to 0.5 mg. All I can tell you is that I have been miserable since starting to take this drug. Excessive gas in my stomach that leads to bloating, abdominal discomfort, and waking up every 1 or 2 hours to belch away the gas. OMG the smell of the gas from my stomach could wake the dead and that terrible taste I have in my mouth most of the time. I will find out about A1C in the coming weeks. I have been able to reduce my Lantus from 70 units to 40 units, and Humalog from 1 unit/5 carbs to 1 unit/10 carbs."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Was taking trulicity until 2 weeks ago my VA hospital said they need to switch me to ozempic. I agreed. Took my first dose 2 days ago after I was out of trulicity and I don't remember a time in my life I felt so sick. Acid reflux, abdominal cramps, sweating with chills, vomiting even if I sip water. I'm thin enough for the weight loss to be irrelevant but being dehydrated is terrible. I won't be taking more of this."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Ended up in the emergency room on the day of the second dose. Triggered a gall bladder issue and ended up elevating my liver enzymes. Symptoms mimicked a heart attach of pancreatitis. Hard to tell the difference. Severe abdominal pain radiating to the back, elevated heart rate, nausea gas, bloating. For some people, this type of medication is very very bad medicine and totally not worth it. I lost 10 pounds in two weeks because it made me so sick I could not eat or drink. One day this will also have FDA black box label on it like Byetta. A class action lawsuit will be on your TV commercials. I would be seriously careful if you plan on taking this medication for anything, weight loss or glucose control. Not worth it. Once you get sick you will be longing to get the stuff out of your system and will be physiologically impacted by the experience. No antidote. Have to wait it out. Never again. The Russian roulette of diabetes medication. Taker beware."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Tried Ozempic for the first time on Thursday. Friday night a bit of diarrhea, Saturday just felt off, Sunday went out for breakfast discovered I had little appetite. And then it was non stop vomiting and diarrhea. To the point I was in ER. Spent several hours there as they tried to bring the lactic acid back down into a normal range. They told me the higher the lactic acid the more severe the dehydration. Multiple IV's, anti nausea shots, and something to stop the diarrhea, plus one CT scan they said stomach bug. I could go home and recover in bed. Stupid me believed them. Took injection for the second time on Thursday...same thing only this time the abdominal cramping was so bad it doubled me over. To the point I was sent by ambulance to the ER. Same round of tests. Same results. Only this time add in pain meds. After comparing previous Sunday to current Sunday they pretty much concluded no stomach bug the first time, but was due to injection."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Within 12 hours of first dose, vomiting occurred and continued for 3 days. Unable to keep any food down; small sips of ginger ale only thing I did not vomit. Lower abdominal tight cramping. Pain in upper abdomen.Vomiting at all times of day and night which added too the fatigued feeling. Days 4-7 felt queasy. Second injection: same side effects as first. Emetrol helped me eat dry toast (1/2 slice) and weak tea. Third dose: Same effects but only for 2-1/2 days."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started Ozempic about 7 weeks ago for weight loss. I had very few symptoms at .25 dosage. Lost about 1-2lb per week. I switched to the .5 dose and ended up in the ER the next morning. That .5 dose was a whopper. I have had debilitating abdominal pain for 2 days now. I have never felt pain like this. I am still suffering with pain. I will not use it again- I feel that bad!"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Hospitalized twice with severe abdominal pain and nausea diarrhea and vomiting. Second visit had a gastric emptying study done. Normal gastric emptying is 30 min, mine was 800 min. Basically this med damaged the vagus nerve and paralyzed my stomach not allowing food to empty. Severe symptoms. Missed work, hospitalized total of over 2 weeks. Praying my stomach returns to normal. Diagnosed with gastroparesis caused by Ozempic."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "After the first 0.25mg injection, I was extremely bloated and burping within 5 hours. I woke the 2nd day with extreme bloat, diarrhea, nausea and abdominal pain. I could not eat or drink a thing because of severe bloating. This lasted 5 days. Foolishly I did a 2nd dose the next week of .25mg. This time I became much, much sicker with the same symptoms but more severe. Abdominal pain severe, bloating was so bad I had to go to the ER my stomach was as tight as a drum. They were talking about sticking a tube in my stomach to release the incredible pressure, instead I came home and rolled around in agony for 3 days. I stopped using it but the side effects continued. 7 weeks of severe gastroenteritis that caused so much inflammation in my body I have been in so much pain. No amount of weight loss is worth this level of suffering. If you have any GI issues like gastroparesis, you really should not be risking it with this drug, it says so right in the insert."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Sulfur burps, sulfur farts, abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloated, pancreas pain, sore breasts, feeling as if I am going to faint, pressure behind eyes. I have never been to the hospital so many times in my life. They told me I had a "stomach bug" turns out that it was OZEMPIC. I had such high hopes, I've heard many great things. User beware!"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Started on 0.05 dose of Ozempic 3 weeks ago. Side effects are horrible!! Only took 2 times and had to stop, have had diarrhea and abdominal pain ever since. Definitely takes away your hunger. I am a chef and love food, but am too nauseous to enjoy eating!! It might work for some people, but I would not recommend it. Side effects are not worth it!!"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Been on this for 5 weeks now. Levels are finally starting to stabilize and I feel more like a human. The nausea has been horrendous, the weight is falling off, 10lbs so far. Can't over eat or the nausea gets worse and I throw up. Abdominal cramps were bad week 2 & 3 but are less frequent and not bad too often. Constipation has been hard for sure, have to take something to help me go. Just increased from .25 to .50 5 days ago and the nausea is hitting me more frequently again. Tums a fan on near my face and nausea suckers are so helpful. The side effects cam be pretty severe but I gotta keep trying to push past it. Good luck if you take this."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I was ok on the 0.25mg and 0.5mg doses of this drug Ozempic. Then five weeks ago I upped to 1mg as planned. About 4 weeks ago my mood changed and I started to get pain in my joints and bones. Achey all over and no energy. Two weeks ago the abdominal pains, gas, diarrhoea and those awful sulphur burps, arrived. I feel absolutely awful and doctor is convinced it is increasing this drug. No appetite either and feeling sick. Was loving the drug in beginning but now I feel like I've permanent flu!"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "My side effects were bad burping and gas, extreme abdominal pain radiating into back, headaches, extreme fatigue and more. Three trips to ER, 1 MRI, 1 Ultrasound and 3 CT scans and the consistent diagnosis was "everything looks perfect". Very disappointed that and ER, GP, Endocrinologist, and GI specialist all did not seem to recognize these drug side effects. I see the Endo today and will discuss, looking for better options, I have had a horrible nine months. Very disappointed in both our healthcare chemists and industry in general."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I've been taking Ozempic since September 5, 2019. Took the incorrect dose the first time (.5) and had unbelievable abdominal pain after a day and a half. I have practically zero appetite. I have already lost close to 10 pounds but, I am certain that is mostly due to the ridiculous diarhea. For 2-3 days after the injection I have constant, watery diarhea. I'm hoping this stops soon. I'm supposed to increase to the .5 dose this Sunday but, I'm scared to. And my numbers have decreased but, not dramatically, even though I've greatly improved my eating habits."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Wow, I did lose a few pounds and have no appetite on Ozempic but I just can’t tolerate this drug. I am the most violently ill I have ever been. I have had 2 doses of .25 and the abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea for the last 7 days has almost killed me. Too bad, it works but not worth the side effects for me !"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "My experience has been good overall. When I went to 1 mg I had extreme hunger cravings. Recently, I had an ocular migraine and severe pain/muscle spasms in my lower right side of my abdominal section and across my lower back. With Ozempic and Jardiance, I have gotten my A1C down to 6."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started on 0.25 for four weeks, had nausea, dizziness, burping non stop everyday, off the wall gas and bloating. Went on 0.5 more or less same side effects accept more abdominal pain. Then went to 1 mg my skin started feeling like I had bad sunburn from waist up. It hurt when clothes touched it. Four weeks later went on 2mg. All same symptoms Then I started having severe neck pain and shoulder pain. Was on 8 months and only lost 16 pounds. A1c went 7.5 to 5.5 but a lot had to do to eating less. I have EPI so it was not worth it to me to take it anymore. Also thyroid cancer runs in my family. Had a friend tell me her friend got thyroid cancer after 3 months..also had lot diarrhea. Now I'm off no symptoms, skin feels better and sugar around 130."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started taking Ozempic in October 2022 for weight loss. Started with 0.5 mg for one month and then increased it to 1mg. For the first few months, the only side effects were constipation and loss of appetite. However, after a couple of months, I started getting abdominal pains in the upper right quadrant that extended to my back, between my shoulders. The pains would manifest a day or two after the shots and last several hours. It was worse during standing or walking and not a problem when sitting. At the same time, the effectiveness of the drug for weight loss was reduced and I stopped losing weight. With the combination of the side effects and the lack of weight loss, I started reducing the dosage. I went from 1 mg to .75 to .5 mg. The side effects continued but were reduced in intensity and duration. Eventually, I stopped taking ozempic in April 2023. After two weeks without the drug, the abdominal pain is almost gone. Total weight loss was 50 lbs."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started taking Ozempic last October. I started on 0.25 and had mild digestive issues. Constipation was the worst. Then my dose was increased to .5 and my abdominal pain was unbearable. Switched back to .25 and still had problems with the lower dose. Read online about injecting in thigh instead of stomach and feel much better. Continuing on .25 with only mild discomfort. I won’t inject in my stomach anymore!"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started ozempic at the end of March 2023 for overall better A1C control, weight loss and reduction in cardiovascular risk. Started at 0.25 mg for first week and increased to 0.5 mg since. For the first month, I had strong nausea, light headedness and significant constipation with abdominal discomfort. I also felt very tired all day which I found was due to not eating enough carbs daily as Ozempic tends to significantly reduce the appetite. I stuck with it and after one month at 0.5 mg, only remaining issue is constipation; which I try to manage through off the counter laxatives and prescription med once a day. Over two months, I lost 25 pounds (235 lbs down to 210 lbs)! My daily fasting blood sugar results are down 20-25 points from before starting Ozempic (A1C to be tested in one more month) and managing my energy level by ensuring enough carb and protein intake. So far so good!"
