For Diabetes, Type 2 "Since being on Ozempic 0.5mg per week, my A1C has remained around 6.7. I have had a weight reduction of plus 30 lbs. I have been taken off 4 different cardiovascular medications (due to cardioprotective properties of Ozempic) (amlodipine, dilt 120mg CD, imdur 60mg per day, and losartan 25mg has been discontinued), and also stopped taking my sitagliptin 100mg and glipizide 2.5mg XR. I still take Metformin 1gm twice daily. On the downside, my appetite and taste for food has really decreased more than I anticipated, and the worst is my blood pressure has significantly decreased, leading to orthostatic hypotension, with BP averaging 85-90/50. This leads to dizziness throughout part of the day and affects my quality of life."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made in my life was starting this drug. You will be sicker than you ever have been from any other drug. My doctor started me out at 1mg (what was she thinking???) and my life has been miserable ever since. I can't eat. I can't sleep. I can't work. I am so exhausted I can hardly drive. Horrible constipation, horrible nausea, dizziness, an all over feeling of general unwellness. I took it for 2 weeks and quit. I quit a week ago and am still waiting to have a bowel movement. Still waiting for the sickness to go away. Still waiting to be able to lift my head off my pillow. This is an absolute terrible drug for me. I'm going to find something else. This is not living. I'm also going to find another doctor. Shame on her for starting me on this stuff."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Was Ozempic for 4 weeks. Giving myself a weekly injection. Week 1 and 2 I was ok. The end of week 2 I was really nauseous. By the 3rd week I couldn't eat or drink anything. My prescriber assured me I would be ok so I went on with my 4th week. I spend 3 separate days in A&E and I was diagnosed with a clot in the lung (PE). Now maybe this wasn't directly caused by the injection but due to the severe nausea and dehydration that is how I got a clot. The nausea still continued for 4 weeks after my last injection. I would never recommend this at all. If my clot hadn't of been picked up goodness knows what may have happened. I also had bad dizziness and severe headaches"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I have been on Ozempic since the end of February. When I began this medication I was 173.2 lbs, as of this morning I weigh 149 lbs. My levels have been normal. I will get my A1C results on Tuesday. Hopefully it will be lower than a 9!! Other than that the only side effects for me have been a little dizziness and nausea on the day of the injection."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Within the first two to three months on the lowest dose, I lost 15 pounds. During the nine months using Ozempic, my weight loss varied from 15 to 21 pounds. In my last three months, I was using the 1mg per week dosage. This drug helped satisfy any hunger and stopped the feeling of needing to snack. Most days, I had no appetite and had to force myself to eat. Due to side effects of vomiting, stomach upset, constipation, loose bowels, indigestion, and dizziness, I have stopped taking Ozempic and feel great again. Not being sick is a good thing. It may help some people but was not good for me."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started on 0.25 for four weeks, had nausea, dizziness, burping non stop everyday, off the wall gas and bloating. Went on 0.5 more or less same side effects accept more abdominal pain. Then went to 1 mg my skin started feeling like I had bad sunburn from waist up. It hurt when clothes touched it. Four weeks later went on 2mg. All same symptoms Then I started having severe neck pain and shoulder pain. Was on 8 months and only lost 16 pounds. A1c went 7.5 to 5.5 but a lot had to do to eating less. I have EPI so it was not worth it to me to take it anymore. Also thyroid cancer runs in my family. Had a friend tell me her friend got thyroid cancer after 3 months..also had lot diarrhea. Now I'm off no symptoms, skin feels better and sugar around 130."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Initially began Ozempic 0.25mg for 4 weeks. Side effects were tiredness, constipation. My fasting blood sugar numbers were lower in the morning. When I began the 0.50mg dose @5 weeks, I had nausea, dizziness, and lethargy the day following first dose. The second day following that dose I felt about 70% better. With the 2nd dose of 0.50mg side effects were less severe, some minor nausea, headaches and the tiredness continued. I hope that these side effects disappear. I plan to take this medication until I get my 3-month labs, and I expect that my A1c will be down significantly. It was at 5.9 in July of 2017. Due to the stress of caring for a dying relative Sept. through Dec. it jumped to 9.3. At my next appt my doctor suggested I try Ozempic in combination with Metformin 500mg @2x/day. I received a 3-mo. discount card and have not yet checked with my health insurance provider to see if it will be covered. I am an active 61 year old female but type two diabetes does run in my mother’s family."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Discontinued Trulicity because no results. 2 weeks Ozempic at 0.25, then bumped to 0.50. A1C went from 8.8 to 7.6. No weight loss. Went up to 1 mg dose last month. Was given OK to try 2 mg if I wanted but on backorder. Noticed dizziness at exercise class when getting up and had a few days of thigh pain as others have mentioned. Sometimes dinner just sits on my stomach and middle of the night burping and vomiting. Morning numbers are much better."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started this drug to try and lower my A1C which had climbed to 7.2. My Nurse Practitioner put me on it. She showed me how to do the injections but no warnings of side effects. I took .25 dose for 4 weeks suffering pain in stomach that radiated to my back. Absolutely no craving to eat anything at all. Had constipation. Then I went to .5 injection and was fine for a bit until severe nausea began with dizziness and vomiting. I thought I was going to be the end of me because then the unrelenting diarrhea began. I waited days in bed so very ill and decided to quit this awful medication. I have lost 6 pound and my morning glucose numbers are 107 it lower but feeling this deathly ill just isn't worth it. I quit the medication, though I understand it could take 5 weeks to leave my body. Beware of this drug."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I have taken 7 doses of Ozempic. The first week wasn't too bad. A little nausea and fatigue. I did feel like my food stuck in my throat and every time I burped there it was. As I continued to take it each week the side effects got worse. I was just diagnosed with diabetes in May, and since then I've been able to come off of my insulin on my own, before Ozempic. I still take Metformin twice a day. This past week, the seventh dose made me so sick!! If I wasn't nauseous every day I was running to the bathroom all hours of the day and night. I had horrible heartburn, gas, burping, jitters and dizziness the whole time and thought I could continue but after this past week my doctor said to come off of it. It will take a while to get out of my system I know, but I hope it does so quickly. I need my life back!!"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Ozempic has really helped with my blood sugar, starting in the mid-250s and lowering to 100-114 in some cases. I had some rapid weight loss, which was about 10 pounds. I had no appetite and worried I wasn’t getting the correct nutrition. Lack of appetite seemed to decrease as I approached the day of the next dosage. One side effect, which wasn’t listed (and I believed to be from Ozempic), was sensitive skin on the side of my torso just below my armpits, my back waist, and the nape of my neck. I did have slight dizziness from time to time and some tiredness."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "First 4 weeks I injected .25 mg units once a week. Second 2 weeks I injected .50 mg units once a week. I have lost 7 lbs. I am injecting 40% less insulin. My A1c has reduced from 7.0 to 6.6. This all sounds great, but the adverse side effects have me on the verge of stopping my use of Ozempic permanently. I have experienced confusion, dizziness, nausea, unusual tiredness, weakness, passing gas, and feeling the need to vomit are the most prevalent side effects. The side effects are interfering with my lifestyle too much."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "*Please state how much you are on, it is helpful to others. I am on .5., Type 2 Diabetic, 25 years. I started on .25, and moved up to .5 after a month. I have lost about 17lbs thus far, and am back into a size 8 (US) dress. I have had a lot of nausea, constipation, and dizziness. They may move me up to a .75 dose, as my sugar is controlled, but not as well as it could be. However, this medication has been LIFE CHANGING. I have stopped taking all glucose-lowering pills and take NO insulin now. I am on Jardiance too, a similar drug. These new meds are fantastic. If you are on the fence, give these a try, they are MUCH more effective than the older drugs, IMO."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started taking Ozempic at 0.025 mg for two months, primarily relying on meal replacements for diabetes twice a day along with a small amount of cereal (grape nuts). During those two months, I lost 30 pounds. However, I experienced dizzy spells because I was also taking high blood pressure medication. Once I stopped the blood pressure medication, the dizziness went away. I then increased my Ozempic dosage to 0.050 mg, and that's when things took a turn for the worse. I started having sulfur burps (long and frequent belching), excessive gas, diarrhea, and if I overate cereal, I would vomit. Even if I didn't eat anything, I would still experience vomiting. I lowered the insulin dosage and it improved. After a month, I was able to handle the 0.050 mg dosage. Later, I increased it to 1 mg. At this point, I wasn't losing weight anymore, but I experienced hunger pains and started eating other things. On and off, I would have episodes of diarrhea, belching, and gas. Additionally, I started experiencing pain under both sides of my ribs, bloating, belching, diarrhea, and gas. I had bloodwork done, which revealed that my thyroid levels were significantly off. I am scheduled for an ultrasound to examine my thyroid, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, and GI tract, among others."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Ozempic is definitely helpful in lowering my A1C, and for that, I am very grateful. I have struggled with type 2 diabetes for over thirty years. However, I am enduring dizziness, mild nausea, tiredness, and a general feeling of being unwell. In the days of my elevated sugar count, I actually felt well, without any of these symptoms. I am experimenting with the dosage of Ozempic and intend to cut back to the .5 mg dose next week. I just can't handle the 1 mg."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started on Ozempic 3 months ago, I immediately had nausea, shaky feeling, tinnitus lightheaded and vision issues which got worse each time the dosage was increased. I only managed to tolerate the higher 1mg dose for 3 weeks before I ended up in the emergency dept with pancreatitis. My consultant stopped the medication and 3 weeks later I’m slowly getting better. But continue to have gastric issues and dizziness. You really need to be careful with this drug and weigh up the risks. It took a heavy toll on my health with moderate slow weight loss. Tighter control and patient monitoring should be compulsory with this drug."

I have been sick for a week with severe constipation, nausea, dizziness, stomach upset/pan, acidity, gas bloating, I could not eat or sleep comfortably at night. This is very strong and mainly suppresses the appetite. I never had this much sickness for a drug."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Started at .125. The first two weeks I experienced dizziness and nausea. My nausea was mainly at night, I would dream about being sick. I was slightly less motivated than normal. I'm normally a healthy eater, but eat big portions. Not sure if it was the nausea but I find myself eating slightly less healthy but smaller portions (for example I used to eat big salads and that sounds gross to me, so I might eat a small portion of pasta/bread/etc. I have lost 6 pounds in almost 4 weeks but I am on the smaller side. I am not sure if it is related or not but I have experience more frequent headaches since beginning and I have also experienced more side effects from alcohol (normally I can have a few glasses of wine without a hangover but I feel slightly hungover if I have more than one drink). I am excited to continue and I would recommend trying! Just know the nausea does stop!"
