For Bacterial Vaginosis "I took this on Thursday morning, definitely gross tasting and had a minor headache and a little bit of nausea, but nothing crazy. I avoided alcohol because of the reviews. It is now Monday evening and I had my first beer, and I don't feel sick or anything. It says on the website that it stays in your body for four days, so I think don't drink for four days just to be safe! All in all, it worked for me and smell, etc., was gone after 24 hours. Pretty pleased with the meds."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I have heavily researched BV, which I have been plagued with for about 7 years now. No explanation from docs. Prescribed this, and the co-pay for Solosec was $100. But I was desperate. Mixed with a cup of applesauce, texture/taste was tolerable, took at 3 PM, by 6:30 PM the same night had a headache, also had 1.5 glasses of wine since trial studies showed no contraindication. By 9:30 PM I was nauseous. Then, 10:30 PM, puked. I felt fine afterward, was able to sleep all night and woke up fine. My symptoms have gone. I will update this review in a few months. I am hoping Solosec will cure my recurrent BV infections for good. Sick of living like this. Apparently, it is supposed to cure most drug-resistant BV cases. We’ll see. I can deal with a headache and puking for one night vs. having to take a 7-10 day antibiotic, get a yeast infection, can’t have a drink, all for BV to come back. Benefits outweigh risks in my opinion."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "As a diabetic, I get yeast infections often, however, this one was different. I didn't itch or get the whole cottage cheese combo, but it was more like a bladder leak. I had been off my diabetic meds during a time when I was laid off without insurance. So, when I started the medication again, it hit my privates: UTI, yeast infections, and finally the BV. You have not been embarrassed until your 3-year-old nephew asks, 'What's that smell?' So I made the appointment with my doctor, and she tells me about this wonder drug, Solosec. I dumped it in chocolate pudding, gave it a whirl with my spoon, and 3 bites later it was gone. Now, there was some deep breathing and prayers being sent up during each bite, but I made it. That was yesterday at 8:30 PM. And as of right now, no headache, nausea, or vomiting. My privates are not sweating today, and my inner thighs are not chafed. So, yes, I would take this medication again."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "First experience with BV at 43 years old, recently had my gallbladder removed, so wasn't sure if the issues came from that. Dr. prescribed Solosec for me, reading these reviews last night made me scared to try ALMOST. I went today and got the medicine and took it at work. I did eat something and took it with a dairy-free yogurt. No upset stomach, no nausea, slight headache but could be from my hair in a bun. Overall, the taste was terrible but manageable to get down and no aftertaste. I took a few bites of yogurt, then drank water, continued until completely gone. Then had my salad and finished the bottle of water. No issues since 10:45 AM and it is 6 PM now, so far so good but anything is better than the infection. Suggestions: no alcohol as it seems to make the medicine symptoms worse per the reviews and definitely eat something."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I took this Solosec with chocolate pudding two days ago, and I have been extremely nauseous and dizzy, so horrible that I can barely lift my head off a pillow. I’m shaking and freezing and aching, tingling all over my body. I have the worst headache, and it is even worse the second day than yesterday. I would not recommend this to anyone. I wish I never took it. I don’t know when this is going to stop, but I hope to goodness it’s soon. I’ve had this once before five years ago, was given a single pill, and I never felt a thing from it, and it went away immediately for five full years. I just had a miscarriage, and they did a swab; it came back with BV, so my doctor suggested this is the best thing on the market. My insurance covered it, but it was still $135. Do not take this, people! There are plenty of other options. ;("

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I never write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so. This is absolutely the worst medication I have ever taken. Immediately after taking the medication, I started feeling nauseous. I’ve been having the most painful headache, nausea, and diarrhea. I feel so dehydrated and have drunk over 64 ounces of water in just a few hours. I am hoping that it will flush this medication out of my system."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Very bitter taste to it, took it with yogurt and had to swallow it down. Woke up with a metallic taste in my mouth. Made everything taste off, had a headache each day for 4 days, bloated, and nauseated. On day 3, I had 2 Coronas and we BBQ'd some hamburgers for dinner. 2 hours later, I was projectile vomiting my dinner. I felt better once I had vomited, but I was down the rest of the night. I thought maybe it was bad beef, but no one in my family got sick. I felt pregnant (which I'm not) or flu-like symptoms. I would not take this again as there are other Rx out there that can help with BV. Yes, the BV is gone, but feeling sick for 4-5 days was too much for me."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was prescribed this medicine for BV but never heard of it before. My doctor gave me a coupon to get this medication for $25 and warned me that sometimes women develop a yeast infection in about 4 or 5 days after taking it. So she prescribed me yeast infection medication with it just in case. I also asked my doctor if I could drink alcohol on the same day or days after taking it. I mixed it with applesauce and really didn’t notice a taste at all. I took it on a Monday, had 2 beers later that evening, and during the 3rd, got extremely nauseous and a horrible headache. I had to lay down, and the symptoms lasted for at least 3 or 4 hours. My BV symptoms started to go away, and I felt so much better, but now it’s 5 days later on Friday, and it feels like it’s back. Definitely not a yeast infection as I have no discharge and no itching. I would have given 10 stars if it had worked. It was so much better than choking down the normal horrible-tasting horse-sized antibiotics."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I took this drug for the first time, and I must say that the taste is not that great, but nothing to make you throw up or gag over. I sprinkled it in some strawberry applesauce and washed it down with water. Then, I ate the rest of the applesauce and drank some more water. I did get a slight headache, but nothing severe. I went to the gym, worked out, and kept myself hydrated. No awful taste in my mouth or any other symptoms when I woke up the next morning. I can say that the horrible BV odor is gone."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I have struggled with recurring BV for the last 5 or more years. I've used every medication under the sun and was excited about a new one-day treatment. Insurance didn't cover it, so I spent $200 and had to wait 3 days for the pharmacy to get it in stock. I mixed it with vanilla yogurt, and the taste was pretty intolerable, but I got it down quick and hoped for the best. The next day I had two beers and vomited. I had headaches, extreme nausea, dizziness, and hot flashes for the entire three days following. I don't tolerate oral metronidazole well either, so I would have dealt with the side effects if it had actually worked 100%. I'm on day four since taking it now, and the BV has improved, but I can tell it isn't gone completely. Rather than waiting for it to come back with a vengeance, I had to start with the gel, which I don't like, but at least it works. I wouldn't take this medication again because of the high cost, lack of availability, taste, and I suffered for days and still got stuck with the gel."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I took this medication yesterday. It was horrible. I mixed it with pudding and tried the first spoon and was almost gagging just trying to swallow it. I ended up drawing up the rest in a 20 ml oral syringe and took it like that. It was much easier to tolerate that way. I felt a little nauseated, but I was okay, so I thought. By the end of the night, I had a very metallic taste. I went to work today, I felt okay. Then, around 10 a.m., I developed a severe headache, nausea, bloated, and dizzy. I had so much indigestion, it was horrible. I ended up leaving work early because I felt so sick. I came home, took Pepto and Nexium, and fell asleep. I just woke up, I feel a little better, still bloated, metallic taste, and a very sour stomach. I feel like BV is slightly improved already, but it’s the burning in my stomach and taste that I can’t get over. FYI, I’m not a complainer. I have been through a lot of health problems and have taken a lot of medications, but this is honestly the worst medication I have ever taken."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I have taken this medicine on two different occasions, and they worked for me both times. I mixed it in with applesauce and swallowed it without taking any bites. I also took it on a full stomach, so it would prevent me from being nauseous just in case. Other than the unpleasant taste of the medication, I was absolutely fine. Sometimes you can work yourself up over reading other people's reviews, as everybody's bodies will not have the same reaction to a medication. On the other hand, I have tried other medications like metronidazole, which gave me horrible headaches along with making me feel extremely nauseous, so imagine dealing with that for 7 days straight. So with that being said, I would definitely recommend Solosec to anyone. This one-time dose is amazing, but the choice is yours."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I just took this packet about 20 minutes ago, and I will say the taste is NOT pleasant! I took it with applesauce but HIGHLY recommend chocolate pudding to best mask the taste. As soon as I finished my bowl of applesauce, I felt nauseous and had a headache. 10 mins later, it's all gone, it really is a mind-over-matter type of situation. Also, DO NOT DRINK!! I am 99% sure you will vomit. I read all the reviews, and everyone who drank (even a little) threw up for hours. Yes, it says you can drink, but why even risk it since you're on an antibiotic??? ALSOOOOO, this drug is EXPENSIVE, like $350 expensive, my insurance brought it down to $113. Thennnnnn I found a coupon on the Solosec website that brought it down to $45!! I wish you all the luck with these meds. Also praying I don't get sick, cause vomit is NOT my thing!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Used to treat BV. To start, I'm allergic/have reactions to Flagyl, which is the same class of medication. I tried the gel inserts, same class as well. I used 1 dose (literally 5 mins after inserting) and had the same reactions. So I was sent this, same class... now I'm terrified to take it. I figured 1 day is better than 4 more of the gel. I bit the bullet. I put it in 1 container of chocolate pudding, mixed, fist bite... gross. So I mixed again, scooped, swallowed, gone in maybe 4 scoops. Just don't breathe through your nose. Have water on standby to rinse and swallow. Easy, done. That was last night. Immediately, I lay down for bed for fear of the reactions starting. I fell asleep, no notice of any issues. Thank you, God. Waking up this morning, I feel a little groggy or off-kilter? Nothing that stops me from going about my day. A slight metallic taste in the back of my tongue through the day. I don't drink, so no issues. No nausea. Maybe a slight headache. But that's a normal day for me."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Was prescribed this Solosec for the first case of BV. The taste was disgusting, like most are saying, but I didn't have as much trouble getting it down like others. It did leave a lingering bad taste in my mouth, which is still there a day after taking it. Experienced a slight headache and some dizziness on the first day after taking it, but nothing horrible. But that night after drinking two beers, I woke up about 4 hours later with a horrible stomachache and nausea. I don't usually have reactions to medicines, so this was not normal for me at all. If the BV does come back, I will definitely ask for a different med."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was literally petrified to take this after reading the reviews on the medicine. I already suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, so I literally thought taking this I was going to die, lol. Well, first of all, the taste really isn't horrible! Obviously, Solosec isn't delicious, but I took it with cinnamon applesauce, and only a couple bites tasted slightly like aspirin. I have had to drink Suprep before a colonoscopy, and let me tell you, that is disgusting and impossible to drink. This was a breeze. As far as side effects, the only thing I had was a slight headache when I woke up. I also suffer from IBS, and this did not cause any stomach issues at all. Everyone is different, so don't let the reviews scare you like they did me. The pharmacist told me to just make sure I ate before taking it."
