For Heart Failure "I have been on this for only 3 weeks, but haven't noticed any improvements - actually feel worse. I am more tired than before & suddenly started throwing up at night about 4 hours after eating, since day one of taking Entresto. Also, I cough all day & all night, which interferes with my sleep (maybe that's why I'm so tired - I don't know). I have no energy at all. The coughing gets to me the most - constant, dry cough & throat tickles all the time. Back pain all of a sudden, & thigh pain. I will give it another couple of weeks to see if things level out & I start to feel better. But so far, not happy with it."

For Heart Failure "One day when I was out and about, I met a young lady and all of a sudden she just started talking to me about her condition. It was almost the same as mine. We both had leaky valves and very low ejection fraction. Mine was at least 20-25%. She told me to try Entresto, she said it's been working for her. So, to make a long story short, I took her advice and asked my doctor to take me off losartan and let's try Entresto. It improved my breathing immediately but after a month of taking it, I started getting all of these side effects like itching, headaches, joint stiffness, coughing, etc. Finally, some of the side effects did get better. I started Entresto at the beginning of February. Today is June 4th, I just got an echo done today, and my EF is now 45-50%. I give God the glory for this drug called Entresto and for the angel He sent my way to advise me to take it."

For Heart Failure "A NP switched me from Lisinopril to Entresto eight weeks after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) x2. Bad news from day 1. I took it for approximately 5 days thinking it must just be me, not realizing I was hitting on EVERY side effect mentioned. I've taken all kinds of drugs (including some illicit ones that I'm not really proud of) and in my case found this one to be the most dangerous compound I have ever come across. Blood pressure dropped, fatigue, constant nausea and dizziness, unbelievable shortness of breath even with the most minor exertion, night sweats, and a cough I didn't have before. I put this med in the toilet and went back to Lisinopril. No problems now and have changed cardiologist."

For Heart Failure "Permanently lightheaded, kidney pain, cough, constantly itchy, drowsy, unable to sleep, fatigue, and mental confusion. Had a 'wake up' moment and refused to take any more and instantly started feeling mental sharpness returning. Has been the worst experience of heart failure medication I've had in 15 years. Was hopeful in the beginning my ejection fraction of 30 would see improvement... it is now 18! Will score 1/10, only as I can't give lower!"

For Heart Failure "I went into sudden cardiac arrest and had to be shocked with the defibrillator. My heart was functioning at 35%. I now have an implanted defibrillator. My cardiologist said that they think I had a virus that attacked my heart, which caused myocarditis. Dr. prescribed Entresto, Carvedil, and Aldactone. I had to have the Dr. lower my dose of the Carvedil because I was experiencing very bad dizziness and lightheadedness. The Entresto has me coughing all day and night. It’s the worst feeling having to cough so much. I just recently had an ultrasound and after a few months on this medicine, my heart is still pumping at 35%. I pray that this number increases."

For Heart Failure "I tried Entresto for 10 months. The initial 6 months, I saw a definite improvement. My BNP level came down from 2,000 plus to just 847. I then started to feel off color, lethargic, achy, blurred vision, and cough, but the worst thing to happen was my serum urate (uric acid) levels elevated on every blood test. No medication gets it down either. So beware of Entresto or get gout along with all the other nasty things that it provides you with."

For Heart Failure "I’m 27 years old. Started Entresto at 24 after getting very sick and ending up with CHF. I have low BP, but recently my cardio Dr. upped my dose, and I’ve been feeling better than ever. My EF started at 11%, and it bumped me into 35-40% in 2 years. The last 2 weeks have been an increased dose, and I’ve been feeling more energetic and having less issues with BP. Sometimes I have a dry cough, but it’s not as bad as feeling sluggish with chest pain!"

For Heart Failure "I was told my heart strength had increased by 10%. And was only 5-10% less than normal. So what does the cardiologist assistant do? She prescribed me Entresto and tells me it’s completely safe. But when you look for side effects online, it says everywhere that if you stop taking this medication, your condition may get worse. And then I read all these stories that mention serious side effects. Now I have a cough, back pain, constant chest pressure, dizziness at times, and a sensation of my throat closing at times (a feeling of it being hard to swallow). And it has only been 4 days max of taking Entresto. Anyway, I haven’t taken it this morning, waiting for an on-call cardiologist to call and advise me if it’s safe to stop. But for those of you with serious heart failure or otherwise, I would seriously monitor your body’s reaction to this drug in the first several days."
