Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Was taking 10mg oxycodone 6 times a day for an operation that went horribly wrong. I was always dizzy, nauseous, and tired. Started OxyContin 20mg twice a day and changed my life. Less Percs, feel almost normal. Now if the pharmacists wouldn't treat us like dirt, life would be good. Highly recommend."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "This is a horrible medication, it's tearing my stomach up, and I already recently was hospitalized with a bleeding ulcer a few months back. I had been recovering, and now my stomach hurts again, plus I'm having several gallbladder attacks every day due to having to eat high-fat food trying to get it to work, which it doesn't anyway. I'm tired of being treated like an addict by insurance companies, etc. In 16 years, I have NEVER abused my medicine, and these insurance companies just assume pain patients all abuse pain meds. This Xtampza causes constant headache, general malaise, dizziness sometimes, nervousness sometimes, and I have body aches in places I haven't hurt before, like severe cramps in my toes. I feel withdrawn, like it takes all I have to have a conversation. They need to worry about the fentanyl coming across the border and leave us pain patients that have no red flags of abusing their medicine alone!!!"

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I was forced to switch to Xtampza. I've been taking it for about a year now. I want my OxyContin back! The Xtampza simply does not work as well. I've also noted more breathing problems on Xtampza. I get dizzy and have more stability problems on Xtampza. In my book, OxyContin is still a better choice for chronic pain."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "My last post was taken down. Been on this for a few months. Honestly, we have to stop changing medicine that works, just because of the small percentage that abuse these drugs. Side effects: dizzy, nausea, severe headaches, which I never had before. I feel numb to the world, tired, and still in pain. Also found out that long-term effects of this drug have still not been studied, and there is a euphoric blocker in these that stops you from experiencing well-being. I get it, the well-being is what addicts crave, but for people in chronic pain, well-being is a good pain reliever, as moods affect our pain. The medication is supposed to last 12 hours, they don't, they last about 5-6 hours. It also only takes the edge off the pain."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Dr. changed my Percocet to Xtampza ER after I refused non-effective injections. My dose I'm taking is 18 mg times a day. I have had severe migraines, dizziness, nausea, sharp pains in my side, itching real bad. Worst medication ever. Even took Benadryl and Allegra, doesn't help. Changed to 1 time a day, still the same. Dr. called in lower dosage but ignores the side effects."

For Chronic Pain "I take oxycodone as a replacement for OxyContin, which is no longer covered by my insurance. It is as effective, but I have to take it 4 or 5 times a day instead of 2 and have to always carry some with me. I can only tolerate it from one manufacturer. If I receive a different 'brand,' the adverse effects are immediate: dizziness, drowsiness, and nausea. I don't know why this is, and am trying to find out. The problem is that the pharmacy cannot always get the brand I need, and I don't know why. The other problem is the pharmacy is only allotted a certain quantity and will run out. I have reduced the total mg I take per day since taking the oxycodone vs. the OxyContin. I just wish I could be assured of receiving the same brand each time."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I suffer from severe, chronic back, neck, and shoulder pain. This is one of the worst medications I've ever taken. The nausea and dizziness are awful. If that were the only negative side effect, I think I could live with it, though. What I found extremely disturbing was the psychological effects. After only two doses, I had terrifying nightmares that were difficult to awaken from. I, uncharacteristically, felt like Alice in Wonderland in an extremely unpleasant manner while I was awake. I can't believe this medication is on the market. Not to mention, it did absolutely nothing to help with pain."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Been on this for months, just don't understand why I'm having side effects, as my doctor says everything is the same, just time release. The first 4 weeks, headaches so severe I couldn't put in a full day. I'm a secretary, so on the computer screen all day. This is what gave me the headaches I believe, along with meds. I also got very nauseous, dizzy, and extremely moody. I put on 20 pounds once I was told to eat a fatty diet with this meal, as I guess the fats help break down the medicine, doctor never told me this, but helped a lot with being sick all the time. Doctor finally listened, as I was tired of being in a cloud all day. Also, anxiety and sleeplessness... This medicine may work for some, just not me."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "I've had myofascial pain syndrome/fibromyalgia for 16 years. Been taking 10 mg OxyContin 3 times a day and 15 mg Roxicodone 4 times per day. The physician dosed only 18 mg twice a day. I could feel some pain relief, but it lasted only 4-5 hours, and I was dizzy the whole month. As the dose wasn't high enough, I had to use all my 'rainy day' meds saved over time to compensate. Reps need to help physicians better understand the dosing procedure. I too will ask to go back on traditional meds. Also, eating a 'high-fat' meal first thing in the morning is really difficult to face. (Per package insert, a high-fat meal increases some of the chemicals associated with maximizing relief)"

Oxycodone for Pain "I have three bulging discs, arthritis, and sciatica in my lower back and also was just recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have been on OxyContin for about a year now, and yes, it has been increased about three times within that period of time. I am now on 80 mg four times a day. It works great with the pain relief, but it makes me sweat so uncontrollably that I have to keep a fan on me on a constant basis. I am also on about eight more kinds of medicines, so I'm not sure which ones are causing the dizziness. But when I wake up every morning, I can barely walk, and it takes about 45 minutes for the pain to subside. And then I start the sweating. But I can handle the sweating if it helps me walk so I can keep up with my four-year-old son. Truly a life saver."

For Chronic Pain "Feels like in June all generics became side effect riddled (suicidal thoughts, confusion, dizziness, headaches, sickness, diarrhea, stomach problems, etc.) with wild effectiveness waves. No clue what to even do. So tired, beaten down. Government says watch out for patients who mention 'how they feel' because it’s a sign of drug seeking, yet never actually gained a pill from any of this because didn’t want to put my doctor’s career in jeopardy or lose the human right to choose how to deal with my diseases for the rest of my life by replacing. What kind of system tells someone who suffers this much to take tainted pills for six months without recourse, help, or information? We can’t simply stop taking them like most meds. Schedule II drugs are powerful, so the problems/side effects from tainted pills equal an emergency! More powerful drug equals worse problems from quality issues. Please do the right thing, FDA and media!!"

Oxycodone for Pain "OxyContin is the best drug I have ever had. I suffer from a prolapsed disc L5/S1. I also have a lot of shoulder pain due to a work accident where I had a bad fall. My dosage for OxyContin is 120 mg twice a day. I also take Panadeine Forte 200 mg twice a day, also Oxynorm 10 mg 1-2 times per day for breakthrough pain. I also wear a patch called Fentanyl Duragesic 75 mg. I also get injections every 2-3 months. I also take a lot of depression medication. Overall, with this combination, my pain is under control most days, but some days I cannot even get up, and I lose my balance a lot. I have to rotate my movements regularly during the day and night. I cannot sleep properly due to the pain."

Oxycodone for Pain "I have severe chronic neck pain due to permanent spinal cord nerve damage. I was given 20 mg twice a day, and it didn't give me enough pain relief. The doctor has increased the dose to 20 mg three times a day, and the side effects are too much to handle. My brain is foggy, I'm more anxious, dizzy, very lightheaded, I have a nagging headache that will not go away, and I have an all-around ill feeling. I like the idea of a pain medicine that is timed release and spreads out over time, but this medication is not right for me. I can't wait to get off of the OxyContin."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Pharmacy switched to KVK DAZIDOX. Might as well call it DIZZYDOX. I was terribly broken up in an auto accident years ago. Many broken bones. Had two cervical spine surgeries. Terrible pain that would not cease. First Percocet, then OxyContin, eventually a truckload. Doc said, “must have quality of life.” Life with constant pain is not quality. Finally, I had enough as the amount was staggering. I self-rehabilitated to six 15 mg oxycodone. Found in 2015 during congressional hearings on fluoroquinolones. Cipro and Levaquin mainly, tendon ruptures and all over body aches. Now, even possible aortic rupture, INSTANT DEATH. New Doc, my old Doc that gave me the heavy doses of pain meds and doses of fluoroquinolones each spring for hay fever, retired, leaving his practice to his young daughter. Cut me to three 20 mg daily. DAZIDOX, I’d be better with M&Ms. Dizzy, less pain relief than Excedrin. SHAMEFUL. What if it was a heart medication? I’m tired."

For Pain "Stay away from this drug. I've been on Targin 10/5 for 6 months now. I was taking 3 tablets per 24-hour period and sometimes 4. At first, it took the edge off, but I found over the next few months I needed more. In doing this, I felt like rubbish. Dizzy, vertigo, depression, constipation, and absolutely no sex drive, no patience, frustration is another con. Losing appetite, sleeping is a chore. At the moment, I am taking half a tablet morning and night, and the effects are really playing with my mind. It's been 2 days now, and the thoughts of suicide are always there. Even friends have noticed the difference in my life, for the worst, I can't stop shaking. Eating is a chore, this drug is so addictive. I would rather be in pain than continue taking Targin. It has ruined my life."

For Chronic Pain "Looks like I had to take a look at reviews and share my experience with the prescription of Rhodes 10 mg, 120 count oxycodone I received last month. I am 100% disabled, have had over 12 surgeries for all knees and shoulders, including 2 total replacements. Degeneration of spine and herniated disk. Sarcoma survivor and several comorbidities. Pain medication for over 15 years. Usually, all I have received has been the KVK Tech brand. CVS handed me this Rhodes brand. From the first dose, it was off, I felt light dizziness, nausea, and hot flashes. Didn't notice pain relief. Like others, I'm sure don't want to call up and rock the boat with the prescribers and chemists since the monthly process is so painful. I did call CVS today inquiring about my doctor specifically prescribing a generic brand name after this last month's fiasco of torture. His response was it's whatever CVS purchases at the time and cannot guarantee a request. Don't understand why, if a doctor specifically writes as prescribed, they can't just order it."

For Pain "Oxycodone is relatively effective at relieving moderate pain. It is somewhat fast acting, so relief comes within a reasonable amount of time. Downside: pain relief does not last very long, and the side effects can be difficult to tolerate. The dizziness and nausea associated with taking the medication actually last longer than the pain relief."

For Pain "I had shoulder surgery 6 weeks ago, and it helped me tremendously the first 5 days after my surgery. I had to take it regularly every 4-6 hours to help with the pain. It worked wonders. It made me nauseous if I didn't take it with food and made me a little dizzy and light-headed, so no driving while on this medicine until you get used to it. Other than that, it was very helpful with my pain."

Oxycodone for Chronic Pain "Dose: 27 mg, 2X per day, Hit-or-miss, minimal pain control, Side effects include IBS issues, dizziness, nausea, irritability, crying, elevated heart rate, hot flashes & insomnia. For the first time in 10 years, my pain is NOT managed. Government & big business insurance companies are forcing patients to use an ineffective medication. The definition of 'prejudice' & 'discrimination.' All CHRONIC pain patients complain to the US government, insurance companies & any legislators playing the role of 'doctor.' Statements such as 'all opioid patients/pain patients are abusing medication & one step away from heroin addiction,' is SLANDEROUS & DISCRIMINATORY! Chronic pain patients aren't 'addicted,' they're 'dependent' on the medicine for ADL. Contact your state chronic pain advocacy group and let's start taking back control of our lives!"
