For Influenza "I had flu symptoms, so my doctor prescribed me Tamiflu. Every time I took it, I felt like I was going to vomit. I haven't felt like eating, so luckily I couldn't vomit. It sort of made me dizzy, and it gave me a headache. I wouldn't recommend the medicine to anybody."

For Influenza "After two days on Tamiflu, I feel worse. The nausea, headaches, and insomnia are unbearable. I also had horrible stomach cramps after the first night of taking this med. I have a loss of appetite and a weird taste in my mouth as well. The nausea is hideous. This medication is much too strong. I feel more sick having taken Tamiflu. I will stick to ibuprofen and ride out the rest of this flu. I do not recommend Tamiflu. Seems a bit risky to me."

For Influenza "The price of this drug is ridiculous! So my physician wrote a prescription for Tamiflu, $147, and for the new one-dose flu medicine made by the same company with a coupon. With the coupon and my insurance, it was going to be $90 for the new flu medication. The coupon stated that they would pay $60 and I would pay $30 plus what insurance did not cover, leaving the total cost at $150. For $150, I could be hospitalized. That is my hospital co-pay. Therefore, it is cheaper to be hospitalized than to get medicine needed to treat an illness. As a healthcare professional, this is what is wrong with our healthcare system. Big pharmaceutical needs to be taken down!"

For Influenza "Neither I nor my family will ever take this medication again. In addition to all the normal flu symptoms, it made me nauseous and unable to eat. I also believe it caused me insomnia and a strange head and neck ache. The flu, without this med, is 100% better."

For Influenza "My 9-year-old son got influenza A in spite of receiving his annual flu shot. His temp was up to 104 when we took him in - very scary. He took the Tamiflu right before bed and woke up with a reduced fever! It doesn't work like an antibiotic where he started getting better fast, but I definitely feel like it is helping. I was a little nervous because no one in our family has ever used it before, but I'm grateful we did. He took it with a few crackers and his stomach was fine with it."

For Influenza "There is a shortage of this medication. Had to call around the same day to find a Tamiflu 75 mg capsules pharmacy that had one. Overall, I took it immediately with food and plenty of water. I had a mild case of the influenza, felt like a truck had hit me-all kinds of symptoms. Had to rest for two whole days and took as prescribed. Had two hallucinations the first dose I took. Currently, 25 weeks pregnant, and by the third day, I felt better, could get up and not feel so terrible. Still have a stuffy nose and some cough, but not as bad. The first day, it hit me fast and hard. I would recommend this drug to anyone, it's a miracle how it fights that infection, and recovery is quick to get back to everyday life. Not sure how much it cost, but my insurance paid for all of it."

For Influenza "I am posting this review a few days after my last one... Before, I gave it 10 points for its effectiveness. Yes, it helped my son, but at what price... He started having nightmares and was very aggressive toward me and my husband. I was not aware of this side effect, but once I started researching, everything made perfect sense. We stopped the medicine after taking it for 3.5 days. I will never give it to my children. I am ready for another flu, not this medicine. It is way too strong! In older children, it can even lead to suicide. Please don't repeat my mistake and do not give it to your loved ones."

For Influenza "It helped with the respiratory issues quickly, but within a day of starting this, I've been experiencing dizziness, headaches, and nausea, later followed by stomach cramps and diarrhea. ...not sure I can finish the last 2 days of it...the dizziness is the worst."

For Influenza "Came home from college classes at 10:15 a.m., got out of my car and felt the chills coming. Went upstairs to rest and figured that I'm sick. Called my doc and scheduled an appointment. He prescribed me Tamiflu, and I thought, 'Anything that makes this cruddy feeling go away is better than nothing.' Took one when I got home at 4 p.m. and one at 9 p.m. Woke up the next morning feeling way better than the day before. Fever went down, slight headache persisted. Otherwise, a champion of a medicine!"

For Influenza "Tamiflu should be off the market, and I will never, ever take it! It is hard to believe that some people had absolutely no side effects or just a little. I had to go back to Quick Care on the 4th day taking it because I thought I developed something really bad, and because I was not able to distinguish between flu symptoms and side effects anymore. What I feel now is worse than when I got the flu. The constant nausea, headache, body aches, rash that I developed, swelling torso, insomnia, frequent crying, and bad thoughts about dying (yep, I know!) made me stay out of work for 5 days!"

For Influenza "My 6-yr-old son began having flu symptoms on a Saturday afternoon after having been exposed to the flu earlier in the week. He began taking Tamiflu Saturday evening. That Sunday, he had a low-grade fever most of the day and felt achy and rundown but was still active. By Monday, he no longer had a fever, was eating normally, and it was as if nothing had ever happened. He said that it tasted bad, but he did not experience any unpleasant side effects."

For Influenza "I’m someone who gets hit hard by the flu... when I get it I am generally down for the count for two full weeks. I’ve been busy this year, and with that and being sick when I had originally scheduled to get my flu shot, I never got around to getting it (dumb of me not to reschedule sooner, I know). Anyway, I picked up the flu on vacation last week and started getting sick Friday on the drive home. Went to the doctor Saturday, and surprise... it was the flu. Took my first dose of Tamiflu the same night, and am already feeling much better as of the next morning. I know the medicine can affect people differently, but for me this stuff works incredibly well. I have been good about my flu shots since the last time I got the flu, but had a similar experience with Tamiflu then too. That time I felt 100% better within 3 days of taking my first dose. And before you ask, yes, both cases were tested, confirmed cases of the flu. :-)"

For Influenza "I ended up with sudden flu symptoms the Monday before Christmas. Spent Tuesday and Wednesday suffering with a high fever, chills, headache, runny nose, everything, and finally Thursday went to the doctor. Gave me Tamiflu, and I was hopeful because I felt like death. I ate dinner before my first dose, took it, had pretty moderate nausea. Decided to change it up and not eat the next morning. Bad decision. Had some of the worst nausea of my life while the cable man was fixing my internet. My 4th dose has led to me now having diarrhea. I can’t tell if the relief outweighs the nausea I felt for hours after each dose (though I do plan on stopping after my dose for tonight because I can’t handle any more nausea.)"

For Influenza "I am one of those sticklers who tries to follow every direction given by my physician. When it came to treating the flu, I was certainly no different...until I took Tamiflu. I felt so horrible the first two days with a fever of 100.2+ that I didn't know if it was helping or hurting. By day three, my fever broke (thanks to Advil), and every time I took Tamiflu, I nearly threw up, with or without food. I am so nauseous that I can hardly move. It made me very irritable and negative. I only have three pills left, but I just cannot force myself to take them. Everyone reacts differently to medicine. This is just my experience. Good luck to the fellow flu survivors!"

For Influenza "I used this drug for suspected swine flu. It definitely works wonders, but what I noticed was that it affected my brain in some ways. I am confused and less tolerant than I was before. I am hoping it is temporary."

For Influenza "I was so excited to start Tamiflu. I thought that it would help the pain go away and shorten the symptoms. It all started with a mild cough and a sore throat. The next day, I woke up with a 102.6 fever around 3 a.m. and started vomiting. I went to urgent care the next day, and they gave me Tamiflu. I will NEVER take this again. I was more nauseous than before, and I was vomiting like crazy! After taking this medicine, I feel worse than I did before I started taking it. I 100% do NOT recommend."

For Influenza "Sick, sick with flu, Tamiflu added to illness, nausea and vomiting. Don't know if it made the flu last shorter, made me too nauseous to know. Just ride out the virus, plan on being sick for a week. Don't burden your body with meds that may make you sick."

For Influenza "This really works. I was amazed at the results, almost bedridden, took the pill, felt better within 24 hours, still tired, the body aches and flu-like feeling mostly gone. Didn't believe it would work, but it does."

For Influenza "I caught influenza and was tested quickly due to the nature of my work (within 24 hours of symptoms) and was prescribed this poison. I got a ten packet of pills for the astounding price of $48. Compared to a 30 packet of paracetamol at $2, which did a hell of a lot more. I took the first tablet with food as instructed, and roughly an hour later, the pain started. It was excruciatingly bad, and I proceeded to spend the day dry heaving and vomiting between wiping my bleeding nose. I endured it because it said it could happen, and I figured it would wear off. I took the second tablet 12 hours later and was in the same position quickly. After the second tablet, I stopped taking them. I spent two days vomiting what little water I was trying to keep down from being dehydrated from the fever in terrible pain. I could sleep, I couldn't talk, nothing. I just laid there in pain. Tamiflu may reduce the symptoms..."

For Influenza "Was able to get a prescription within 48 hours of my flu symptoms. Horrible body aches, headache, sore throat, cough, fever, and chills. The stuff has really worked! My symptoms were reduced considerably, including my fever after two dosages. I have not had any of the other problems mentioned in these reviews at this time, well into day two of taking the pills twice a day. Although I had absolutely no appetite, I made sure I ate a little something with the pill. This may be partially why I have not had digestive issues, I really have not been eating. Other than a little bit with the pill twice a day."

For Influenza "I was given Tamiflu by the hospital, and at first, it seemed to work. I didn't have such a bad runny nose or coughing. However, the side effects were just horrible. I had nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, headaches, and, as my friend describes it, I was 'just not with it.' I took it in pill form, and I think it was perhaps because of the plastic-feeling outer cover I was forced to swallow. I don't particularly recommend it, especially since it also gave me a little insomnia. That was a slight problem, having the flu and all, since sleeping is actually important if I want to heal."

For Influenza "Two weeks had flu symptoms. Went to the ER the next day with a horrible headache, fever, and body aches. Tested positive for the flu and prescribed Tamiflu. Took it right away with food and felt even worse! Throwing up, acid in my stomach, insomnia, and then got the panic attacks and depression. I did some reading, and there can be issues with this with Tamiflu. I am not on any anti-depression medication or anything. But I actually felt like I could die, and it would be better. The thoughts racing through my head were horrible. The doctor gave me Ativan to help me sleep and calm down. Only took half a pill at night to help sleep. I got over the flu after about five days. Another two days of feeling bad from the flu would have been better than what I experienced. Never again!"

For Influenza "Diagnosed with Flu Virus A. - This was the sickest I have ever been in my life. I felt like I was dying with all the major symptoms. My wife took me to the doctor for diagnoses and a prescription. Within 24 hours, I'm over 50% better. This is unbelievable. Today, hour to hour, I have been feeling better and better. - Side effect is loose stool, but I don't care! I don't feel like I'm dying anymore."

For Avian Influenza "Had sore throat 7P by 7A, was congested, achy, and coughing. 2 days later went to stat care, diagnosed with flu A, for which I was prescribed Tamiflu. Also at this time, I was taking prednisone and Duoneb. I continued to feel worse, not better: extreme back and leg pain and headache. The headache was so bad it hurt to stand up or bend down. I felt like I had ringing in my ears and pain in my jaw. I had insomnia, weird dreams/thoughts, slight confusion. I almost felt like I was losing my mind at times. Freaking out because I am having to miss more work because I’m not getting any better, when I come to find out after doing my research that the Tamiflu is making me sicker. There are a lot of side effects. Like other people, I assumed that if I took it as prescribed, that in 1-3 days I would start feeling better. That was not true at all. Each day I felt worse and worse and worse. I’m starting to think if there was something wrong with my brain, my mental functioning!! I did not take the last dose!"

For Influenza "I took this medication because I was diagnosed H1N1 type A via swab in my nose. I tried to help myself with homeopathic medicine, unfortunately, it did not work. I was prescribed Tamiflu, and after the 2nd pill on day 2, I felt 75 percent better. No side effects for me so far, and my body is super sensitive to meds. Glad I started taking this on day 3. It's very pricey, but I'd rather pay that than feel as bad as I did."
