Systane Balance (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I have used this product with no problem, then I got pneumonia and wow, my eyes went ballistic. Red, inflamed, puffy, itchy and I went to the doctor. He showed me a picture of eyes with problems like mine and the cause was Systane. I was so shocked. It is really terrible."

Oasis Tears (ocular lubricant) for Eye Redness "The drops worked okay but I started to notice joint pain in my hands and legs. My legs have an almost a restless legs feeling. I stopped the drops for a few days and everything went away. Started the drops again yesterday and woke up right back with the pains and tingling. I'm supposed to use the drops 4x a day. I have no clue why the drops would cause these affects but wanted to share in case someone else might have the same problem."

Systane (ocular lubricant) "I had a tear in my retina and needed to use a good eye drop after my laser surgery. I started using these drops and experienced horrible cramping and diarrhea. My doctor said she had never heard of that side effect but when I googled the active ingredient, it’s used as a laxative! I’m stopping today and finding other drops."

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "My eye doctor prescribed Systane for dry Eye, I started using the product right after my exam once a day and since then I had issues with my Eyes. Some kind of dizziness, sensitivity to light and some eventual blurry vision and pain on the back of my eyes, it came and go. Went back to the doctor at one week to check what was going on as I did not present any of those symptoms before the eye exam. The eye doctor said that I was not using the drops enough times a day!. So, I used them more!. But I started noticing that weird sensation in my eyes after I used them, like very heavy eyes that will last hours. So I started to decrease the use of the drops, and my eyes seem to be getting better but I still have the heaviness that comes from time to time. So I started to research because I have been dealing with this for almost a month and by reading this reviews I am almost sure it is the drops!. I am not using them anymore . Thank God it was not such a long time."

Systane Ultra (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I have Macular degeneration & dry eye and have used Systane for years. I happened to pick up Systane Ultra the last time. The edge of my eyelids were constantly itchy. Thinking it was something I was allergic to since I had recently moved, I continued to use them. One morning, for whatever reason, I didn’t do my usual eye drop routine. Later that morning I realized I wasn’t rubbing my eyes. My “aha moment”! I didn’t use the Ultra drops again!"

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "Just picked a bottle of "Complete" basis a doctor recommendation. The bottles' in the trash after a second use. The eyes felt MUCH worse after use, than before. Maybe the gel would be better, But with $10 up in smoke, it won't be Systane."

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "Has severe dry eyes and my eye doctor recommended the Systane Gel Eye drops - they were uncomfortable at first to use as they seemed to make my vision a bit blurry and eyelashes sticky, but prior to using the my eye doctor has warned me of this and recommended taking it once only before bed instead. It's a medication that isn't really supposed to be used long term and multiple times a day (I've seen other comments where people have apparently been told to use them 4 times a day for 4 week, which sounds very excessive...). All in all, Systane worked well for me as I didn't use it frequently as per my eye doctor's recommendation. It would be blurry and a bit 'sticky' before bed but in the morning my eyes did feel less scratchy and I supplemented these with other single-use eyedrops during the day to keep my eyes nice and wet. So far so good! I've been told to use it for only two weeks and no more than that, so one more week to go and no real ill effects so far."

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I do not like Systane UD as it does not help my dry eye. The drops are too thick and do not dissolve too easy in the eye. It makes my eye and around it too sticky and I have to wash the eyelid after use. It gives me more gritty eyes. Unfortunately I bought 3 boxes in one go but had to stop using them after a few days. I have to bin the rest of this expensive eye drops. Never again buy any systane products."

Systane Balance (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "Works great!!! Much better then the other Systane OTC brand drops because it contains mineral oil. A little pricy but well worth it. One bottle lasts me months. My ophthalmologist prescribed this and Xiidra Drops (Rx only) after he diagnosed me with Dry Eye Disease (DED) caused by Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), which is actually the main cause of DED. I also use a micowavable eye heat mask daily and Ocusoft Hypoclor which targets the main cause of DED. These combinations of treatments have highly improved my condition."

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "The product works well for my dry eye but the new nano droplet design is terrible. I keep missing my eye. The drops run down the side and all over contaminating the drop. I wasted half the bottle because the drops did not go in my eye."

Oasis Tears (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "This is a rip off scam that eye doctor get a big cut from. The doctor says you need them and I think they are covered by insurance and I get to the check out counter and they tell me how great they are and insurance doesn't cover them and they are $95.00. What a scam. Don't fall for this, it should be illegal. Shame on the doctors for pushing this stuff."

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "So glad I found this site. I have had dry eyes for years. I used different kinds of eye drops, but mostly Systane ultra and gel. Three months ago I had YAG laser treatment for post-cataract surgery. Ever since then I had cloudy vision due to floaters. One month ago we moved, and I only had the Systane Ultra on hand, not the gel. So I just used Ultra. The floaters started clearing up. Three days ago I bought the gel and started using it. Now the floaters are back. I am going to trash all the Systane bottles and find something that won't affect my vision."

Systane Complete (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I had both cataracts removed 12 weeks ago. I have always had dry eyes and the Eye Surgeon suggested I use the Systane Complete PF (Preservative Free) or the Systane Hydration PF (Preservative Free.) I use the Systane Complete PF 1 or 2 times a day. Works, no complaints. When I wake up I do need to take a warm wash cloth and gently blot each eye with warm water. Have also tried the Systane Hydration PF and have to use it several times a day compared to the Systane Complete PF."

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I was using systane ultra and complete as recommended by my eye specialist. I also use azopt and lumigan drops for glaucoma. I had been using the glaucoma drops for at least 2 years without problems. Shortly after starting to use the systane it became very uncomfortable installing the azopt and lumigan drops. After approx. a couple of months of systane use I decided to try to figure out why my eyes had become so sensitive to light and why it got so it hurt so much when installing my glaucoma drops. Stopped the use of systane and after a couple of days or so no more eye stinging or sensitivity to light. Not everyone will have my same problems but just giving systane users a heads up.....Don Little"

Systane Ultra (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I used the previous formula systane with no problems but this new formula burns my eyes. I switched to Genteal and what a relief to my sore eyes. Both made by alcon so I don't know what the problem is but the ultra version hurts"

Systane Complete (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I have dry eyes and never bothered by them - until I had my second cataract surgery. I was extremely affected - light sensitive, scratchy, hard to focus and at night, really irritated. I was using the Systane Balance several times a day. Went back to the optometrist and she suggested (and gave me a sample) of the Systane Complete. After four times a day application, I noticed a 100% difference. She also suggested the ointment at night which I have started. My eyes are feeling normal and I will continue. Thank goodness!"

Lacrisert (ocular lubricant) for Eye Redness "I make no tears. If it were not for this insert, I would have been put on the disabled list over 10 years ago. This medicine is safe and wonderful. I love it and thank God every day for it. If not for this medication, I would never be able to leave my house because without it my eyes hurt terribly"

Hypotears (ocular lubricant) for Eye Redness "Hypo Tears are the ONLY eyedrops that relieve my dry eyes. I have used this brand for 30 years. I hope they are never discontinued or reformulated, as they are the only ones that WORK for me. I have tried every other eyedrop on the market, including Restasis, and none of them relieve the dryness, and many if not most, actually make it worse."

Systane (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I only used Systane for 3 days for mild blepharitis. It caused blurriness and extremely pronounced puffiness under the eyes (with a red vein very pronounced). It also caused a migraine. Over-the-counter allergy pills seem to have a better effect on relieving most of the symptoms. Will not use it again."

TheraTears (ocular lubricant) for Eye Redness "I had a very serious dry eye condition that showed up after all my cancer treatments were completed. I had no idea what was happening to me other than a red bubble appeared in one eye. My eye doctor suggested TheraTears 4x day plus taking nutrition product. It cleared up and to this day, I only use TheraTears in my eyes. Florida's allergy season is all year round for me and my eyes. It's great and the only drops to go in my eyes. It was suggested that I buy the individual vials as for some reason contamination is a factor I have to keep in mind for my eyes. I have not had dry eye since. Thank you TheraTears and I love the coupons."

Systane Ultra Preservative Free (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "What a miserable experience! Something that is this expensive and preservative free shouldn't cause such discomfort. It has been a nightmare. My eyes got swollen, irritated and the entire eye socket area became/is bright red. I still haven't recovered from it. It looks like I got punched in the eyes. I've tried many brands and drops before and NEVER had an experience like this. I'm taking them back and will never, ever buy this brand again."

Oasis Tears (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "Oasis tears are good doctors consider it the best, however it is a rip off, the vials are a disaster you open and you lose some the drop in your eye takes time and you may miss your eye then they are difficult to close. Finally it becomes so expensive that is not worth it. Don’t buy them there are similar products that are cheaper and they do the same job. They are very difficult to use"

Systane Nighttime (ocular lubricant) for Dry Eye Disease "I used Systane Ultra as directed by my surgery post cataract surgery. My eyes burned and itched for several minutes after applying but I though it had something to do with the surgery. Then a couple of months after surgery I was advised to take Systane Nighttime ointment for eye dryness because I had started using a Bi-pap machine. I tried it in one eye to start, and after the first night, my eye became irritated and for 2 days following it felt as though I had sand in my eye or a corneal abrasion. Both times when I reported this to my physician's office ( Ultra and Nighttime Ointment) they seemed puzzled. But reading comments here, I see I'm not alone."
