Nicoderm CQ (nicotine) for Smoking Cessation "On day six now and didn't smoke but was a can-a-day dipper for over 20 years. Don't worry that people are talking about it falling off, I'm in construction in the heat in Florida all day, and it sticks. I know it helps. Weird dream thing going on, yes, get a taste of nicotine all day, and the initial itch, yep, got that too. But what I haven't had is a dip of Copenhagen. Thanks, Nicoderm."

Nicoderm CQ (nicotine) for Smoking Cessation "Quit smoking for almost 6 years, and one day out of nowhere, and for no reason, I was CRAVING a cigarette, and it wasn't long until I was back up to a pack a day. :( Every pack I bought, every cigarette I smoked made me feel so gross, yet my mind kept telling me I needed it. Opted to try the patch, free with my health insurance. Just finished my first day, and it was pretty smooth, stressful at work, and hung out with a coworker on lunch while she smoked, and I was almost gagging! Icky, icky, icky! But not once did I want to smoke! I'm confident it is working. It's the CVS brand, and it sticks pretty well. Took it off to shower and popped it right back on. After reading reviews and going through the information insert, I'm worried about sleeping and having weird dreams, lol. Hopefully, it won't be too bad, small price to pay as opposed to continuing to smoke. I do have moments where I go into autopilot and I reach for a pack that isn't there, and I think, 'oh yeah, I don't smoke,' and I just go back to what I was doing. Last time I quit, I went through a few weeks of really bad anxiety, and I haven't had any episodes or any feelings of anxiety. Just waiting for time to pass. :) Will be on step 1 for 6 weeks and down to step 2 for 4 weeks, and step 3 for 1 week I think. Tomorrow I need to spray my car down 'cause the smell makes me sick to my stomach! Excited to smell good again!"

Nicorette (nicotine) for Smoking Cessation "I just want to say thanks for the Nicoderm patch. I smoked for 44 years, and it's been six months since my last cigarette. If it wasn't for the patch, I don't believe I could have quit. I know I will never have another cigarette because I sure don't want to quit twice. The patch wasn't magic, but along with willpower and determination, the patch made a huge difference, and it was my time to quit. I did find that I couldn't sleep with it on, as the dreams were too much for me, so I didn't wear it at night. Five weeks was all I needed, and I can honestly say that I am a non-smoker! Thanks so very much, Nicoderm."

Nicorette (nicotine) for Smoking Cessation "Dr. told me I have to quit smoking (pneumonia-related recurring illnesses), didn't get a choice. She recommended gum because the patch just wasn't enough for me, angry cravings, and I knew I was going to smoke again. So I used patches and gum for breakthrough nicotine urge. For me, even with the 'chew then park' method, I still have a burning sensation in the back of my throat very similar to the burn you get off a pull from a cig, not pleasant but also familiar. Pluses: immediate relief with hit of nicotine, flavor is nice, relieves the angry withdrawals, I do feel better after I chew. Cons: obviously not recommended for long-term use, the peppery/burning is slightly uncomfortable - I call it zappygum because it reminds me of electricity, especially with the speedy nicotine - and frequent use upsets my stomach. As for the patches, the adhesive wears off easily so it tends to fall off towards the last few hours, also, I have really strange vivid dreams wearing the patch when I'm sleeping. Using both together and so far, 0 cigs since the Dr."

For Smoking Cessation "Used step 1, 14 patches, and today is the 1st day on step 2. Haven't had 1 cig. It does itch a bit for 20 min after applying and messes with your sleeping, but small price to pay. Also, you get crazy dreams. I've been enjoying those."

Nicoderm CQ (nicotine) for Smoking Cessation "Proper and consistent adhesion needs to become a priority. 25-minute ordeal of wiping, drying, using an alcohol swab, applying patch(es), cutting fabric tape not even sold in pharmacies (given by a friend a long time ago). Now running low on said tape, applying tape, noticing throughout the day that sections of the patch are no longer touching the skin. Dreams at night seem real and last a long time. Not well rested the next day even after a long sleep."
Nicoderm CQ (nicotine) for Smoking Cessation "I have no idea why I started smoking again after my son was born. But, alas, I did and here we go again! I tried the gum (nasty!), e-cigs (still felt like I was smoking), and even Chantix (super crazy dreams and still massive withdrawal symptoms). I decided to give the patch a try. LOVE THEM! I got the off-brand of NicoDerm CQ and have had an amazing experience! Yes, it is a bit itchy when you first put it on, but that goes away after a little bit. I'd rather deal with light itching than a massive craving strike! I have NO interest to go out and smoke and have so much more time to do everything else! I do have a weird dream now and then, but NOTHING like with Chantix. I am 110% confident I am done for good!"
