"I had bought 2 bottles of this supplement. I took just one a day instead of the recommended dosage of 3 a day. I'm glad I did that because with just 1 pill, I felt a severe headache. I still finished both the bottles, and then I started getting palpitations, chest pain, and dizziness. This remained for months and months. Never taking this supplement at any cost. I'd rather drink coconut water to lengthen my hair."

"I started taking this as a multivitamin and to help with my skin. Been consistent for a few days now and have started noticing tightness and swelling of my throat, as well as a severe headache. Symptoms have gotten progressively worse, and then I remembered this vitamin I had been taking. These are going in the trash, and I will not recommend to anyone."

"Have been taking this brand and other similar brands to combat my thinning hair loss and nail issues. It seems each time I go back to taking these (usually gummy version), my hair and nails seem worse? It seems no matter what brand I try, it is always the same! So done! No more! "I have noticed a slight difference in my skin’s texture in just 1 week. It feels a bit firmer and more supple, my hair is softer and my nails are stronger. "I started taking this vitamin because my hair was rapidly falling out. Two weeks I have been on the vitamin, and for the entire two weeks, my stomach was extremely upset. Diarrhea, upset stomach, sore throat, and skin rashes occurred. I have never had any allergic reaction, or even side effects to medication or vitamins, until this. To top it all off, I have noticed not a single change in hair, skin, or nails. Be wary of this product, and at the very least, keep an eye out for symptoms."

"I started taking these almost 2 years ago. At first, I didn't notice much. After a few months of taking them, I started noticing daily SOB, bloating, vertigo, and severe headaches 3-4 times a week (around the same time each day). I talked to my doctor about these symptoms, I got no answers other than I may have indigestion. I am relatively healthy, exercise each day, and eat healthy, etc. For me to be having these issues is a bit unusual. I started looking into my diet more, my environment, and my daily activities. I could not come up with anything other than these vitamins. After coming on here and reading the other comments, I stopped taking them immediately. It's been 8 weeks and I have not had a single issue. I am so happy that I figured this out. No, I do not take any other medications, so there was no reaction to address. And yes, I drink plenty of water (that is ALL I drink). I also took these with each meal. STAY AWAY FROM THESE! THEY SHOULD BE PULLED OFF THE SHELVES."

"I never thought to research vitamins. October 2020 was my first bout with COVID (lasted 2.5 months), 2nd bout of COVID March 2021, then 2 back surgeries. My hair is falling out by the handfuls. My sister has used these for 4 years and suggested I try them. I took 2/day with breakfast for 3 weeks. I experienced severe gas/bloating, horrible stomach pains, insomnia, extreme fatigue, headaches, my voice is hoarse, an awful taste in my mouth, and a tingly tongue (that should’ve made me think something was wrong). I’m discouraged because I’m getting sicker and didn’t know why. I started reading reviews. Amazon reviews were good, then I found this website. Thank you to those who have written in. I stopped them today and hope I can feel better soon. I bought these gummies from Amazon. There was no expiration date, an odd color, and they stuck together. My side effects are different. DO NOT TAKE THEM."

"I started taking Nature's Bounty Hair Skin and Nails about 8 months ago. I experienced an itchy scalp and did not connect this to the supplement. About 3 months ago, however, I began experiencing severely painful itchy arms that dermatologists were unable to identify. After exhausting all treatments (steroids, Benadryl, antihistamines, allergy creams, etc.), I consulted another doctor who helped me journal and identify supplements and/or changes to my diet just prior to the itchy conditions. We identified that I started this supplement 2 weeks before the itchy scalp symptoms began. This has been an absolutely horrible experience for me. I have spent hundreds of dollars on doctors, lotions, creams, antihistamines, etc. Also, some random headaches and stomach pain that I had not experienced previously, but the worst of my side effects is the itchy, painful arms that nothing but ice relieves."

"I have been taking these vitamins for 2 or 3 months. I had headaches, pain all over my joints. I didn't think this pain was because of the vitamins, and finally I found I have a yeast infection, and my stomach is always full of gas. I really do not recommend it!"

"I only lasted 4 days on the gel caps, never again. Immediately after taking the recommended dosage, I felt horribly nauseous. I thought I was just getting sick, so I continued to take them. I have never been so nauseous in my entire life, and it also leaves a horrible taste in your mouth. Do not buy this product!"

"I take this brand's multivitamins and decided to try these out since my nails are brittle as heck. I took 3 pills/day for two days (as directed on the bottle) before I noticed symptoms. The first night I did not sleep at all, and by the second night, my entire body was covered in itchy, burning hives that came in waves. I was itching and awake all night. It is an awful experience. Please do not buy this product. Your body will thank you later."

"Postpartum hair loss: The 2nd day of taking this, I had a bad headache, but I get them occasionally, so I didn't connect the two. The 3rd time, I woke up at 4 AM and had severe hives covering my body. I took two Benadryl and waited an hour or so. It helped relieve the itching, but my throat began to swell, and it was difficult to breathe. My husband took me to the ER, and I was given steroids and Pepcid. Finally, the hives went away, and I felt better, so I was discharged and slept for like 4 hours. Woke up with a headache, so I took more Benadryl, which the doctor advised. All this to say, I will not be taking it anymore. I'll wear a scarf until my hair grows back! Not worth it! Plus, they smell so bad, and one night I kept belching that awful taste."

"I was taking Nature's Bounty Hair Skin & Nails supplements for a few months. My arms started to itch a lot, and my skin got very flaky and rough. I was associating it with an allergic reaction to something, but it just never went away. I got extremely worried. Reading these reviews now, I realized that these supplements are connected somehow. I stopped taking them in November, but the itch and skin condition have not improved yet (It’s May now). I always had soft and healthy looking skin. Now I look like I have permanent damage."

"Like everyone, wish I had seen this before being on 3 pills per day for about 8 months. I too developed little bumps just here and there. Over the months and too much itching, I am covered with sores. The dermatologist put me on an antibiotic and creams to use. BUT, they just won't go away. The doctor is going to biopsy on my next appointment. Found 7 new bumps on my leg just this morning. I'll stop taking the pills as of today, July 21st, and update if things change. Anyone else experience weight gain?"

"I took these gummy vitamins for two days and developed a bald spot at the top of my head. I wouldn’t recommend taking these pills, the side effects are completely the opposite of what you want when looking for healthy hair and nails. They also cause bad stomach cramps and I'm not on any medication, so I don't know what is up with these vitamins."

"I just took these a few hours ago, and my stomach became nauseous after about 30 minutes. I have felt like vomiting a few times, but I have not. I took 2 Tums to combat the nausea, and when I took these supplements 3 days ago, I didn’t even notice that I had issues then because I blamed the upset stomach on some fast food I ate that night since I had taken the vitamins around 1:00 earlier that day. I ended up with mild diarrhea that night and slept with an upset stomach all night long from about 9 PM to 12 AM, so 13 hours of hell. There’s also a cooling type sensation in my stomach, almost like I swallowed a peppermint. I can’t smell or taste it like others have commented, but the upset stomach is too much to bear. Returning these with the receipt. So glad I only took two versus the recommended dosage of three, or I would have really been messed up."

"I've been taking these vitamins and had zero problems, except a stomach ache, but that was my own fault because the directions clearly state to take with a meal. As long as I eat and drink the amount of water adult humans are recommended to drink to stay hydrated and ensure that my body properly flushes the vitamin and carries the nutrients where they need to go, I'm fine. My nails have been a lot stronger and grow faster, I haven't noticed much change in my hair yet, but I also have very curly hair and we are show-ers, not growers, so it's hard to tell."

"I bought this since my hair was thinning. Took the vitamin for 3 days. In those three days, I developed a rash on my chest and arms (not horrible), but the itching was horrible. Went to the doctor and determined the only thing different that has changed was the vitamin. Stopping taking it and will see how it goes."

"I started taking the gummy version about three days ago, and yesterday had the itchiest, worst rash ever develop on the top and sides of my feet. Like I was almost in tears because it wouldn’t stop itching. "Started taking Nature's Bounty Hair, Skin, and Nails gummies about a month ago. While I did notice some growth and strength to my nails, I noticed no change in my hair, and it completely dries out my skin. I started noticing dry patches on my face a week after taking. Not worth it. Would not recommend."

"I had a terrible experience with this product. I used an entire container as instructed, and over the course of that time, I developed terrible cystic acne all along my chin and jaw area. It gave me rosacea-type skin on my cheeks that I ended up having to pay to get lasered. My dermatologist gave me medicated creams, nothing helped the cystic acne. Then I realized it all started when taking the Nature's Bounty Hair Skin and Nails, so I stopped taking them immediately. It took about another month for the cystic acne to disappear, and what actually helped get rid of it is called Benzagel 5% (this stuff is cheap and WORKS SO WELL ON ACNE). The worst part of this entire experience is that I never suffered from acne before. This product was a HUGE mistake. Never again."

"I used Hair, Skin, and Nails for about a year and started having overall upper body itching: head, arms, back, stomach, breasts, and upper legs. About 9 months ago, I went to the Internet and found untoward reviews of this product and stopped using it. I do not have itching much during the day now, but at about 7:00 p.m. in the evening, I start to itch. I now use Gold Bond and Eumaid at night before going to bed, and it helps a lot. Have not tried Zyrtec, but will do so. Very unfortunate for myself and others who have had so much skin itching with this product."
