For Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "After taking this drug PreserVision AREDS 2 (1 pill a day) for 4 months, my eyesight has become very blurred, with more floaters. My energy level has greatly decreased. I have made the decision to stop taking the drug."

For Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "My experience with PreserVision AREDS 2 is negative. I have taken it for about one year and had assumed that my nausea and fatigue were due to other health issues. Now I realize that it must be the AREDS 2 that is causing it. Twenty minutes after going to bed, the nauseous feelings start and even so I mostly do not have to throw up, it feels like it. No more of those pills for me."

For Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "I took my first one this morning. Within half an hour, I started to feel sluggish and have stomach cramps. Within an hour, I was vomiting. Awful! I have never been allergic to any medication or had a reaction like this. I only saw that others have had this problem when I came to this site. I can’t leave the bathroom. The rest of the container is going in the trash immediately."

For Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "I have been taking PreserVision AREDS 2 for over 2 years. I first started out with dry macular degeneration, then it changed to wet macular degeneration. I get shots in my eyes every 3 months now. PreserVision AREDS 2 has not helped, it has gotten worse. Plus, I have had a lot of side effects: nausea, heartburn, fatigue, plus many others, too many to mention. I didn't know it could cause all these things."

For Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "I took this drug for about 7 years, and during that time, I felt almost constantly unwell with stomach pain, gastritis, fatigue, hand bruising, nausea, and more. I had many tests, but doctors could not figure out what was causing my problems. Finally, one doctor suggested that I stop taking PreserVision AREDS 2 for 2 weeks, and within 3 days, I felt so much better...even my hands stopped bruising. I think it's the massive amount of zinc (80 mg) that one gets each day with the 2 capsules that caused my problem. Now I'm taking lutein and trying to get more zinc in my diet. There should be more information available about the pros and cons of this vitamin!"

For Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "My retina specialist gave me a one-day sample of PreserVision AREDS 2 to start taking for macular degeneration in my right eye. After breakfast this morning, I took my first one and almost immediately felt sick with nausea, fatigue, near vomiting, and a slight temperature. I'm glad I checked here for reviews... no more for me!!!"

For Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "I took these vitamins for about a week and experienced ongoing dizziness. Since I bought two bottles, I tried to take them again and was unsuccessful, more dizziness. I switched to Walmart brand, and there has been no dizziness, however, sometimes I get headaches, fatigue, and have gained some weight after taking them for about a year. Then I decided that because the AREDS2 study mentioned that the body only absorbs 25 mg of zinc from these daily pills, I purchased another brand that sells its formula exactly as the PreserVision one except for the zinc, only 25 mg per day. Feeling much better. Also, need to watch my sugar intake, it seems to be much worse since I’ve been taking these vitamins."

For Vitamin/Mineral Supplementation and Deficiency "I took AREDS 2 religiously twice a day, probably about 8 years. When zinc became popular for COVID prevention, I googled and realized I was getting twice the recommended dose of zinc in AREDS. I then saw I had several of the rare side effects of AREDS. The only one I can definitely attribute to AREDS is breast pain, which went away when I stopped taking it. Joint pain, trouble going to sleep, low energy, and a weak feeling could be age. The retinal doctor was almost rude when I told him and asked about only taking one a day. My eyes hadn't gotten worse while on it. I haven't had an exam since stopping it."

"Beginning macular degeneration, advised by my doctor to use PreserVision. After only one pill, experienced severe epigastric pain that lasted 2 days. Also, nausea, lethargy, and generalized malaise. Won't take this again."
