For Alopecia "I wanted so badly for this stuff to work. I'm a 59-year-old woman. I've had thin hair all my life but still had a full head of hair. When my hair started getting noticeably thinner with balding patches, I was desperate to do something about it. My biggest fear starting it was the warning of initial dread shed. I haven't got enough hair to spare. Well, the shed never happened, and after a full year of faithful application, nothing else did either, so I give up. Also worth noting, I had terrible bouts of nausea and vomiting, which have ceased since I quit the minoxidil. That's no way to live. This is not usually talked about as a side effect, but I can only associate it with the use of minoxidil since I no longer have it."

Minoxidil topical for Alopecia "This Rogaine Men's Extra Strength medication caused my face to swell and my hands/feet. It causes excruciating headaches and makes your head feel as though it weighs 5 pounds. It causes irregular and rapid heartbeats, some nausea/vomiting. In the area applied, it takes the color from your hair and leaves it 'gray.' It causes you to feel dizzy, like fainting and fatigue with cold chills intermittently. Maybe taking a diuretic would have eliminated the discomfort and unpleasantness of facial swelling and feeling heavy-headed."

Minoxidil topical for Alopecia "I wanted to wait till I gave it a good try before reviewing. I used it as instructed for a full year. Unfortunately, it did nothing for me, so I stopped. Absolutely no results on my scalp, but increased facial hair, yikes! Also, I experienced nausea, which I'm not 100% sure is related, but I'm pretty sure since it stopped when I stopped using the product."

For Alopecia "I swear this stuff gave me anxiety attacks along with depression spells. I used it for 3 days; by the third day, my resting heart rate was 112, up from 54. I had intense headaches and nausea. I couldn’t even stand up for long because I would get lightheaded. I don’t know if there’s a relation between my symptoms and Rogaine because, according to their website, Rogaine doesn’t cause these problems, but they did stop after just two days of discontinuing Rogaine."

For Alopecia "I have stopped using it. The more I used it (the higher the dose), the more I had soreness at the site, but this didn't bother me much. Other symptoms did, such as: loss of sex drive, palpitations, dizziness and light sensitivity, headaches, nausea, fatigue, digestive issues, weight gain, brain fog. Don't be vain in your 20s and dead in your 40s for this stuff. It never really did anything noticeable anyway!"

For Alopecia "My dermatologist recommended that I use 5% minoxidil for hereditary hair loss. I had difficulty finding a product but finally located one for women with this higher percentage. I used it around 9:00 AM and within an hour became nauseous. I am in my third day of trying to recover from the effects of minoxidil and although the nausea has lessened, I'm still not feeling up to par. On the first evening after using minoxidil, two of my fingers turned a dark blue and reddish color around my knuckles. After around 3 hours the color dissipated."
