For Alopecia "Does it work? Yes, it restored some hair growth. But are you willing to suffer these side effects? (a) facial bloat and weight gain (b) dark "panda eyes" (c) loss of libido (d) severe ED (e) fatigue and brain fog? Please read around various forums - I had all these, and so have many others. In short, you will end up looking WORSE - which is ironic. Guys - embrace a buzz cut or shaving bald, and rock it. Just save your health and stay away from this stuff."

For Alopecia "Terrible, had a very slight bald spot on crown, panicked since I was only mid 30s and got rogaine and it has basically destroyed my hair, everywhere it has been applied is now bald. A lot of money effort for nothing. I'm too scared to try finasteride as the risk of permanent impotence is not worth trying to get regain my hair."

Rogaine Men's Extra Strength (minoxidil) for Alopecia "This drug ruined my life. The first time I applied Kirkland 5% to my head, within minutes I became extremely lightheaded, with blurry vision. This persisted for a week before I tried applying some more (maybe it wasn't minoxidil)? The 2nd application resulted in even more dizziness, and after my 3rd and 4th application, I began having severe multi-day headaches. Suffice to say I completely stopped, but 8 months later and I am still suffering from an annihilated vestibular system causing major balance issues and constant dizziness and fatigue."

For Alopecia "I started having male pattern baldness. I starting losing hair in my 20s and I could clearly see that my hair was going for good, but I knew I was still in time if I could find something that could keep it, I didn't need anything for regrowth, only for it to stop falling. And that's what minoxidil did for me, I didn't get more hair, but I kept all my hair and it got thicker and now the hairs that fall have a root again. I'm 26 now and I can say that without minoxidil I would be bald because at 23 I was 3 months without it and it starting falling LIKE CRAZY... I guess I will use it forever or until something better comes"

Rogaine (minoxidil) for Alopecia "Priced way too high and ineffective for me. I was buying 3 every month and a half for almost $30 a can. Switched to a generic 5% minoxidil foam a month and a half ago and still haven't finished the first bottle. 3 of the generic cans cost me $30 altogether. It smells better than rogaine, no pink tax. It lasts so long. Best of all I get better results. Do yourselves a favor and buy from the little guys."

For Alopecia "I have been using minoxidil 5% for a few months. Its working but the hair growing in is thin and very weak. I have had hair issues from wearing clip in extensions and now my hair will not grow over a few inches. Where the extensions rubbed on my scalp, hair will not grow back there. This Medication does work but hair breaks off and grows in as a strange texture. Plus it the side effects make me queezy."

For Alopecia "I have been using minokem f now for about about two months. 1ml each in morning and night. First month till the end of second month shedding was worst. I was afraid of huge shedding. Now I bought supplements for next two months. Today I noticed no hair fall on my hands all of a sudden while applying minokem. I pray to god this will work and I will deal with alopecia. I am 26 years old male and hoping to get this hair problem cured permanently if only dermatologist thought about welfare rather than money."

For Alopecia "I originally used the liquid twice a day but switched to the once a day foam when it came out - the foam was pretty useless to me because the majority of the stuff just got stuck through my hair rather than getting on my scalp. Unfortunately my hair seemed to suffer far more - which was heartbreaking and I've gone back to the lower dose twice a day hoping it's not too late to turn it around."

For Alopecia "I used this medication ONCE (Costco brand 5%, applied 1 mL to hair and spread around with dropper) and it caused dizziness/lightheadedness within 10 minutes that are still persisting 7 MONTHS LATER despite being totally healthy, physically and mentally. I applied it a few more times in the following week and each time felt increasingly worse. Doctors are still trying to figure it out but it looks like a vestibular migraine (always light sensitive, pulsatile tinnitus, headaches, vertigo from motion and sometimes random, clumsy, almost always with a heavy head feeling half conscious and very fatigued). NO PRIOR MIGRAINE HISTORY, very healthy, lots of exercise previous college athlete, low stress 23yo M with early stage of hair thinning and now it's totally screwed me up. I have had most necessary diagnostic tests and am otherwise normal/healthy."

For Alopecia "I started using this medication for like 8 months ago and it did show changes on my scalp , I was not very faithful since I actually skipped some days we all know keeping up with medication is tough. Since I was skipping medication here I am again my hair kind of looks lost again. I guess one should be stuck with medication in order to have full hair."

For Alopecia "For people not getting results. If you're a woman it says specifically it is not for women & female rogaine I believe 2 be a gimmick because DHT causes most hair loss & this has 2 do with testosterone I think something else is needed for females (since this is for genetic hair loss & involves testosterone & most female hair loss is neither of these). For men saying it doesn't work try tapping it on (grabbing by circular plastic part not the rubber squeezer. Don't massage it on because you lose about half of it (unless its foam because it doesn't have the propylene glycol which is used in the liquid to penetrate the scalp and is what also probably causes the flakes/residue in the liquid form). Also use 4 @ least 3-6 months or even a year for max results."

For Alopecia "Around 15 years ago I noticed I was losing hair on the crown of my head. Started using Rogaine topical, first liquid and then foam (which is much easier to apply). Results have been excellent. You have to be diligent in the beginning. Now, I just apply it once a day at night. I use both brand name and generics with similar results. A few years ago my urologist prescribed finasteride for BPH. I resisted for months due to concern over side effects, but he insisted this was not scientifically proven. So I tried it, and after 33 days I had retrograde ejaculations. I stopped immediately, but the side effects remain after three years--weight gain, loss of libido, and yes, retrograde ejaculations. Be very careful about taking finasteride. But do try minoxidil!"

For Alopecia "I have been using minoxidil from almost 4 years but not regularly I mean for 4 month I used minoxidil then I took a month break because it seemed useless but later I found that it may work after 3-4 months of usage. I have been on finisteride also but the side effect of finisteride which is erectile dysfunction and chances of impotency too though its chances are not too high but still I love children more than my hair so now again I started using minoxidil alone, now it have been a month that I started minoxidil again and I will test it but review from my cousins was very positive, though my finger crossed, I wish it will be helpful. By the way hair concern women more than men. Please if someone can assure me that yup it's work kindly do so"

Rogaine (minoxidil) for Alopecia "I had been losing my hair slowly for several years. I tried all kinds of alternative therapies, supplements and other nonsense, because I was afraid of trying Rogaine. None of those things helped at all. So I finally tried Rogaine after my hair stylist commented on how much hair fall I had each time I came in. I was really worried about scalp irritation, since I have sensitive skin. But I'm happy to say that I haven't had any irritation at all. I'm about 8 months in, and I have a ton of new growth. My hair is shoulder length, with the new growth being about 2-3 inches long. That looks a little funny, but I don't mind. The new hair is the same texture, color and quality as the existing hair. Rogaine has helped me keep my hair. If you try it, you need to give it 3-4 months before you'll see new hair growing. Stick with it. It works."

For Alopecia "Female, middle aged. Some areas of my hair was slightly thin. My dermatologist suggested minoxidil. After doing my research about the chemical ingredients, I declined. Years later, I decided to try it. It burned my scalp, causing very dry itchy, flaky scalp with scabs. The areas around my hairline where I used it was much darker than the rest of my skin. I stopped using it then went back to it later. What a nightmare that was, as all the areas I used it became bald. I had to wear a wig....which I hate. A few years later my hair grew back, but not as healthy as it previously was. I saw the women minoxidil foam now available over the counter and decided to try it again. OMG, same disaster, with major hair loss in the areas where I used it. NEVER AGAIN!!! Now wearing wig again. Please explain somebody!!!!"

For Alopecia "This a warning to all the young guys out there, like myself. I had never experienced any issues with hair loss in my entire life until the lockdowns began and I contracted COVID-19. At the age of 27, my hair started thinning rapidly. I decided to use minoxidil as a first-line solution, and it turned out to be the worst idea I've ever had. Instead of improving my hair, minoxidil made it much worse. I went through a serious shedding phase that made my hair look ten times worse than when I started. I knew this shedding phase was normal, but the side effects of minoxidil were horrendous. Initially, I experienced a rapid heart rate at night and struggled to sleep. Although it never crossed my mind that minoxidil could be the cause, these symptoms persisted for months. I felt like I was having a panic attack, although it wasn't one. Furthermore, minoxidil caused me to have brain fog, dizziness, and depression. Thankfully, I didn't experience any sexual side effects. However, this medication aged me drastically. I developed numerous wrinkles when frowning, dark circles under my eyes, and facial bloating, none of which I had ever experienced before. I decided to stop taking minoxidil, and after just two days, I already feel much better. So, I caution all young guys to think twice before using minoxidil for hair loss. The potential side effects and negative outcomes may not be worth it."

For Alopecia "I was not able to stay on it long enough to benefit due to sudden collagen loss resulting in drastic wrinkles and soft saggy skin. I took it for 6 months, first topical but that caused a rash/burning/itching so they prescribed oral. I noticed the incredible change in skin elasticity around a month or two after starting the topical and it got bad fast - then I started the oral. My 20 year old skin may have recovered but my 40 year old skin I don't see it happening. There's a massive outcry against anyone mentioning this online in forums etc and I get it, it makes your hair grow so you don't want to hear it but I'd rather lose hair than age 10 years in 6 months. Who knows how bad it would get if I stayed on it. There's many many studies going back to the 80's proving that it negatively affects collagen so it's not imagined by any scope of the imagination. I've always had thinner skin to begin with so I think I saw the effects more than most."

For Alopecia "I swear this stuff gave me anxiety attacks along with depression spells. I used it for 3 days; by the third day my resting heart rate was 112, up from 54. I had intense headaches and nausea. I couldn’t even stand up for long because I would get lightheaded. I don’t know if there’s a relation between my symptoms and Rogaine because according to their website Rogaine doesn’t cause these problems, but they did stop after just two days of discontinuing Rogaine."

For Alopecia "I am using this for thinning hair. I got side effect of severe hives, severe facial edema and pustular dermatitis of the scalp. It 10 days since onset and symptoms slowly going away. Hives are tiny fluid filled bumps that itch. Dr prescribed a steroid for the swelling. The steriod meds may have helped somewhat but my face especially around the eyes are still swollen. The scalp cleared fastest. First 3 days were horrible. The entire contact site was sore, swollen, oozed and formed a thick layer. The swelling literally traveled down my face starting at my hairline. Again stalling out around my eyes. Benedryl and ice application helps with the itching. Hives are central to my hands (front and back), forearms, face and ears. But it appears to be spreading to my neck. I was impressed with the results after 6 months of use so I decided to use a little bit more about half a dropper. After 3 weeks of increase the above happened. Going to a dermatologist next week to see if there is anything else I can do to speed up the healing process"

For Alopecia "I am a 24 year old female with PCOS related androgenic alopecia. My testosterone levels are normal and no high DHT still I lose hair like 200 strands daily. I was using 2% minoxidil and it lessens the loss whenever I use it but never stopped it. The doctor after my PRP session asked me to start 5% which I did and I have been patient but I really cannot do it anymore. Even my new baby hair is falling. They say ‘have faith’ with minoxidil but I am going back to my 2 %. Remember, start with 2% and if you can tolerate it then only start 5. It is not for me. I lost half the hair I grew back with lot of hope and care and pampering and money and time."
