For Alopecia "I'm really, really worried about hair loss. I have been using minoxidil solution for the last 18 days and applying it in the portion where I'm losing hair. I have gone to a dermatologist for hair loss problems, he recommended this minoxidil solution 5% and vitamins capsules. I want fast results from using this medication, but it is showing results very slowly. I am very much tense, I want my hair back. My hair is really important in my life. After using the minoxidil solution, I have small, small hairs that are visible if we notice them minutely, so I don't know if it's working or not."

For Alopecia "I originally used the liquid twice a day but switched to the once-a-day foam when it came out - the foam was pretty useless to me because the majority of the stuff just got stuck through my hair rather than getting on my scalp. Unfortunately, my hair seemed to suffer far more - which was heartbreaking, and I've gone back to the lower dose twice a day, hoping it's not too late to turn it around."

For Alopecia "21-year-old male with slowly progressing MPB since 20s. Used once daily 5% for 4 months and shedding was reduced. No objective data about effectiveness, but I would say it reduced shedding and progression a little. Stopped due to palpitations and chest discomfort (not any other side effect). My advice is to keep in mind this is a long-term treatment and increased shedding could be seen the first month (my case). Another thing to remind is that effectiveness can only be appreciated within 4 to 6 months of usage. Decided to stop slowly for two months and then stop completely. Approximately 2 months have passed since no minoxidil, and shedding had increased a lot, but seems to be more stable now (as it was before starting any treatment). Keep in mind any result obtained will be lost after 3 months. Thinking about starting finasteride, but luckily not in a hurry. Best of luck to all the balding men reading."

"I'm 55 years old and started using minoxidil about 3 months ago. Since I started this so-called positive hair treatment, I have seen zero results and more hair loss than I've ever seen in my life. They say the new growing hair will push the old hair out, but this is out of control. I've also experienced no sex drive. Do not waste your hard-earned cash on any minoxidil product."

For Alopecia "I have been using Minokem for now for about two months. 1 ml each in the morning and night. The first month till the end of the second month, shedding was worst. I was afraid of huge shedding. Now I bought supplements for the next two months. Today I noticed no hair fall on my hands all of a sudden while applying Minokem. I pray to God this will work and I will deal with alopecia. I am a 26-year-old male and hoping to get this hair problem cured permanently if only dermatologists thought about welfare rather than money."

For Alopecia "I was not able to stay on it long enough to benefit due to sudden collagen loss resulting in drastic wrinkles and soft, saggy skin. I took it for 6 months, first topical, but that caused a rash/burning/itching, so they prescribed oral. I noticed the incredible change in skin elasticity around a month or two after starting the topical, and it got bad fast - then I started the oral. My 20-year-old skin may have recovered, but my 40-year-old skin, I don't see it happening. There's a massive outcry against anyone mentioning this online in forums, etc., and I get it, it makes your hair grow, so you don't want to hear it, but I'd rather lose hair than age 10 years in 6 months. Who knows how bad it would get if I stayed on it? There are many, many studies going back to the 80's proving that it negatively affects collagen, so it's not imagined by any scope of the imagination. I've always had thinner skin to begin with, so I think I saw the effects more than most."

For Alopecia "Around 15 years ago, I noticed I was losing hair on the crown of my head. Started using Rogaine topical, first liquid and then foam (which is much easier to apply). Results have been excellent. You have to be diligent in the beginning. Now, I just apply it once a day at night. I use both brand name and generics with similar results. A few years ago, my urologist prescribed finasteride for BPH. I resisted for months due to concern over side effects, but he insisted this was not scientifically proven. So I tried it, and after 33 days, I had retrograde ejaculations. I stopped immediately, but the side effects remain after three years-weight gain, loss of libido, and yes, retrograde ejaculations. Be very careful about taking finasteride. But do try minoxidil!"

For Alopecia "I started using this medication for like 8 months ago, and it did show changes on my scalp. I was not very faithful since I actually skipped some days. We all know keeping up with medication is tough. Since I was skipping medication, here I am again, my hair kind of looks lost again. I guess one should be stuck with medication in order to have full hair."

For Alopecia "Amazing. But do not overdose your scalp. I was impatient and used four droppers, and it works so well. Then I went back to the proper directions. I want this product. If side effects, it may be the cleaning. It helps clean the clogged follicle from fungus? Or what? Anyone know? My hair is much, much better. Feels like hair, not fuzz. I bought mine cash! Well worth it. Several bottles in case misused, I'm not deprived from its amazing benefits."

For Alopecia "Used for 75 days. Previously, the rate was 50-80 hairs per day, which remains the same. Illusions occur sometimes, like hairline increased. Don't know what to say, but not working yet. Mind says stop it, but somewhere there is hope. Will wait till 6 months....."

For Alopecia "I have been using minoxidil 5% for a few months. It's working, but the hair growing in is thin and very weak. I have had hair issues from wearing clip-in extensions, and now my hair will not grow over a few inches. Where the extensions rubbed on my scalp, hair will not grow back there. This medication does work, but hair breaks off and grows in as a strange texture. Plus, the side effects make me queasy."

Minoxidil topical for Alopecia "I had been losing my hair slowly for several years. I tried all kinds of alternative therapies, supplements, and other nonsense because I was afraid of trying Rogaine. None of those things helped at all. So I finally tried Rogaine after my hair stylist commented on how much hair fall I had each time I came in. I was really worried about scalp irritation since I have sensitive skin. But I'm happy to say that I haven't had any irritation at all. I'm about 8 months in, and I have a ton of new growth. My hair is shoulder length, with the new growth being about 2-3 inches long. That looks a little funny, but I don't mind. The new hair is the same texture, color, and quality as the existing hair. Rogaine has helped me keep my hair. If you try it, you need to give it 3-4 months before you'll see new hair growing. Stick with it. It works."

For Alopecia "Female, middle-aged. Some areas of my hair were slightly thin. My dermatologist suggested minoxidil. After doing my research about the chemical ingredients, I declined. Years later, I decided to try it. It burned my scalp, causing a very dry, itchy, flaky scalp with scabs. The areas around my hairline where I used it were much darker than the rest of my skin. I stopped using it, then went back to it later. What a nightmare that was, as all the areas I used it became bald. I had to wear a wig... which I hate. A few years later, my hair grew back, but not as healthy as it previously was. I saw the women's minoxidil foam now available over the counter and decided to try it again. OMG, same disaster, with major hair loss in the areas where I used it. NEVER AGAIN!!! Now wearing a wig again. Please explain, somebody!!!!"

For Alopecia "I have used it for 3 months, minoxidil, but it is not working for me, maybe, but I have used it for stress hair loss. I have a lot of personal stress, which is the reason why I needed to use this product. Or maybe it is not suitable for me. I must say to everybody that before trying minoxidil, remove all things like stress, use a proper diet, and others, and then, if necessary, then only try it."

For Alopecia "My dermatologist prescribed this to help with my androgenetic alopecia, which I developed since I started using the Mirena IUD to treat heavy periods. However, in less than a month, I have not seen much improvement in my hair loss or hair growth. Instead, I have started feeling very angry, irritable, and depressed. I feel extremely tired, have low energy, feel weak and confused, and have headaches and breast pain. This product has turned me into a depressed zombie, and I hate it. I do not recommend it. If you have naturally low blood pressure, do not take this product as it will mess you up badly."

For Alopecia "For people not getting results. If you're a woman, it says specifically it is not for women, and female Rogaine I believe to be a gimmick because DHT causes most hair loss, and this has to do with testosterone. I think something else is needed for females (since this is for genetic hair loss and involves testosterone, and most female hair loss is neither of these). For men saying it doesn't work, try tapping it on (grabbing by circular plastic part, not the rubber squeezer). Don't massage it on because you lose about half of it (unless it's foam because it doesn't have the propylene glycol which is used in the liquid to penetrate the scalp and is what also probably causes the flakes/residue in the liquid form). Also, use for at least 3-6 months or even a year for max results."

"Female over 50 growing out thin hair, tried it for one month. Awful! Made my scalp painful to even brush my hair, and I lost so much hair as it caused it to fall out. I have never, ever had hair fall out like I have using this product, hair doesn't even look the same. Never again!"

Minoxidil topical for Alopecia "Priced way too high and ineffective for me. I was buying 3 every month and a half for almost $30 a can. Switched to a generic 5% minoxidil foam a month and a half ago and still haven't finished the first bottle. 3 of the generic cans cost me $30 altogether. It smells better than Rogaine, no pink tax. It lasts so long. Best of all, I get better results. Do yourselves a favor and buy from the little guys."

For Alopecia "I swear this stuff gave me anxiety attacks along with depression spells. I used it for 3 days; by the third day, my resting heart rate was 112, up from 54. I had intense headaches and nausea. I couldn’t even stand up for long because I would get lightheaded. I don’t know if there’s a relation between my symptoms and Rogaine because, according to their website, Rogaine doesn’t cause these problems, but they did stop after just two days of discontinuing Rogaine."

"I applied minoxidil gel 5% only two times, once at night and once in the morning on my beard. I suffered from the systemic side effects: dizziness, headache, fatigue, blurred vision, and blood pressure lowering. I don't think I applied an overdose. Anyway, I stopped it immediately and won't try it again. Very bad experience."

Minoxidil topical for Alopecia "I was in my fifties when my hair began thinning on my crown. I have been taking Rogaine for 4 months now. I saw no change for the first 2 months, but now the hair loss is no longer noticeable. No side effects. Recommended for male pattern baldness. I am a customer for life."

For Alopecia "I am a 24-year-old female with PCOS-related androgenic alopecia. My testosterone levels are normal and no high DHT, still, I lose hair like 200 strands daily. I was using 2% minoxidil, and it lessens the loss whenever I use it but never stopped it. The doctor, after my PRP session, asked me to start 5%, which I did, and I have been patient, but I really cannot do it anymore. Even my new baby hair is falling. They say ‘have faith’ with minoxidil, but I am going back to my 2%. Remember, start with 2%, and if you can tolerate it, then only start 5%. It is not for me. I lost half the hair I grew back with a lot of hope and care and pampering and money and time."

For Alopecia "I am using this for thinning hair. I got side effects of severe hives, severe facial edema, and pustular dermatitis of the scalp. It's 10 days since onset, and symptoms are slowly going away. Hives are tiny fluid-filled bumps that itch. The doctor prescribed a steroid for the swelling. The steroid meds may have helped somewhat, but my face, especially around the eyes, is still swollen. The scalp cleared fastest. The first 3 days were horrible. The entire contact site was sore, swollen, oozed, and formed a thick layer. The swelling literally traveled down my face, starting at my hairline. Again, stalling out around my eyes. Benadryl and ice application help with the itching. Hives are central to my hands (front and back), forearms, face, and ears. But it appears to be spreading to my neck. I was impressed with the results after 6 months of use, so I decided to use a little bit more, about half a dropper. After 3 weeks of increase, the above happened. Going to a dermatologist next week to see if there is anything else I can do to speed up the healing process."

For Alopecia "I have been using minoxidil for almost 4 years, but not regularly. I mean for 4 months I used minoxidil, then I took a month break because it seemed useless. But later I found that it may work after 3-4 months of usage. I have been on finasteride also, but the side effect of finasteride, which is erectile dysfunction, and chances of impotency too, though its chances are not too high. But still, I love children more than my hair, so now again I started using minoxidil alone. Now it has been a month since I started minoxidil again, and I will test it, but the review from my cousins was very positive. Though my fingers are crossed, I wish it will be helpful. By the way, hair concerns women more than men. Please, if someone can assure me that, yup, it's working, kindly do so."

For Alopecia "I started using minoxidil for 4 months. I expected shedding some hair, and I was expecting some hair to grow as well, but in return, I lost more hair and didn't get hair regrown in those spots. They say to give it time, but growing a small noticeable hair will not need more than 4 months. It was only getting worse. I had to stop it, my hair got so dry and thin. I hope my experience is helpful. I don't want anyone to get the same experience."
