For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It says that it may mildly increase itching, burning, and irritation, but I swear it’s severe! I was hardly itchy before using this product, like the infection had just begun, and this made it 10 times worse! I would never use this again, I wanted to cry. I couldn’t do anything but lay down."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "After reading the label, I found that it says the burning and itching will increase even more so than what you have already been experiencing. This product is VERY strong, and I’ve found the worse your YI is, or the more prolonged amount of time it took you to treat it, the worse the side effects will be. I tried to tough it out for about 45 minutes before I couldn’t stand the pain anymore and rinsed as much as I could out. Within another 45 minutes, I was starting to feel a little better. It was awful. I’m on day 2, this time I’m in the same position, laying on my back, legs up, but instead of inserting the full amount at once, I’m slowly releasing the product in a little at a time. Like I’m talking a slight push on the syringe every 5 minutes or so. It seems to be helping, still a little irritating, but NOTHING compared to day 1. Good luck, ladies."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Monistat 7 is my go-to. I'm on the first night, and I timed how long the intense burning/itching lasted (29 min). I rated the product so high because of its effectiveness. I hate yeast infections, and I try to avoid them at all costs (probiotics, yogurt, cotton undies, using the same soap, etc.), but like others, I was prescribed antibiotics due to an oral surgery, and voila, yeast city. Tips: cold rag placed on area or fan blowing straight on your area while you're laying on your back. Patting area gently helps as well. Try not to get the medicine on the outside of your vagina. If you've had the yeast infection for a while or if it's just aggressive, chances are your area is dry and skin is probably irritated...use some kind of lubricant (I use A&D ointment), not much of it, but it may help with comfort. And yes, it really, really sucks at first, but it beats the alternative, in my opinion. Speaking from a woman who had gone to the emergency room after using Monistat 1...you can do it."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ahhhhh!!!!! Bought Monistat 7 and been using it since Saturday. It's now Wednesday. I've had a yeast infection (YI) before, went through a doctor, got it over the counter, prescribed no issues. I had a bit of irritation, then I knew I was having symptoms of a YI, so I went and got Monistat 7, and as soon as I used the one insert, it immediately burns and itches! Which my YI wasn't even burning and itching at that point alone. The medicine made it so itchy, and of course, I did it right before bed and can't sleep because it's nonstop for at least 45 minutes. Today, I had zero symptoms of YI, but I wanted to follow through the 7 days and literally just used it again, and instant itching!!! I'm not sure if this is working or not, lol. But it is horrible, the itching!!! Like, the medicine makes you feel worse to me than my actual YI, ha."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "'A mild increase of vaginal burning, itching, or irritation may occur.' First off, let me tell you that this statement is complete rubbish. Never have I felt the flames of Hades in my nether regions before, nor the horrific itch of a mosquito plague accompanying it. I read that the itching subsides as the treatment wears on, so I will tough it out. However, that does not stop my desire to punch the creators in the face."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have a mild yeast infection that I’ve been dealing with for about 3 days now. Taking a shower and simply running water on my vagina actually helped relieve the irritation. Tonight I decided to use M7, thinking it may get rid of the lingering yeast. I showered, and after about 5 minutes of applying the application, I was so annoyed at how uncomfortable I was that I decided to take another shower! The itching and irritation were 10 times worse than the little I was already dealing with. Not sure if it was because the cream was working and killing off the yeast or what, but I did not like the way it felt! So annoying!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve been doing this treatment for only three days. Every night after I shower, I insert the cream. The first 15-20 minutes are the worst - burning, itching, and irritation. The first time I used this product, there was absolutely no pain, a little discomfort considering it was my first time. I don’t know why this is hurting so much, I’m going to research the ingredients to see what might be causing this. I’m experiencing the pain right now, it’s awful, I want to rinse it out."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I feel you all! I feel fire ants all over my vagina after inserting the medication. I hope it works. I used it before years ago, and this was never an issue, my guess is that it is a new formula. I hope I don’t get a YI anymore in my life."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Omg! I was not expecting this outcome at all! It definitely will make your lady parts itch hardcore! I hear that’s normal, but oh man, that first 15 minutes was intense! It has been 35 minutes already, and I can feel some itching down there, but not as bad as when I first applied the cream. I’m hoping it’s helping, and by day 3 it will feel better! Any irritation down there isn’t going to feel good with any product. Stay strong, ladies!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So yes, the first use was an experience. I had been so raw from constant itching that seemed to get worse within a few hours. I applied the cream to my lady parts, and talk about wanting to take a cheese grater to your down under itchy fire parts. I had to take some Benadryl to help the itching. The vaginal insert of the cream wasn't bad until it melts... and then it gets itchy inside your lady cave, so to speak. After the first hour, it seemed to calm down a lot! I shouldn't have waited so long to have done something about it. I never had any thick discharge, so I thought it was just a little irritated. I had never had a yeast infection, and lord knows I don't ever want to go through this again. But the product overall works."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "After reading the reviews for this product on here, I was terrified! All the ladies who said it burned them so bad and to never use it made me hesitate a few days because my infection was mild. However, it got worse, so I decided to suck it up and use it! I was lying down after applying it, and I was shocked that I felt no burning or anything! It actually felt good, and the irritation immediately subsided! I'm on my 3rd day, and I feel excellent! I still have a slight redness, but it has gotten better!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have recurring yeast infections and couldn’t get to the doctor until next week. I decided to try the name brand, which was the worst mistake of my life. Day one I used the suppository and cleaned as directed and had so minimal burning, but my skin was very irritated and sore. Assuming it was doing what it was supposed to, I decided to just use the cream on my vulva. Wrong! I looked in the mirror and saw frightening red bumps like pimples on my vulva. I have health anxiety and automatically went to Google and self-diagnosed. The burning was unbearable! I rinsed my vulva multiple times and took Benadryl and Tylenol to reduce the swelling, redness, and itching/discomfort. I had a little bit of my prescription cream left and applied it. This morning I woke up around 4 a.m. with a slight burning sensation and I grabbed my mirror and flashlight. The bumps were gone but still had redness and a swollen vulva. I’ll never use this product again. Seeing those bumps scared the living poop out of me."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I really wish I would have read these comments first. I thought I was going crazy for like 10 minutes thinking, damn, I thought I had just a little infection ... 2 minutes after applying this bad boy, I thought, oh Lord, what did I just do! The more I tried wiping it off, the more I wanted to cry and scream. Ladies who can handle this, God bless your soul and your vagina."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "OK, so this is my second time catching a YI. I went and purchased the Monistat 7 day pack this round. I tried the Monistat 3 day pack my first time, and it didn’t work for me, so I am now trying the 7 day. Initially, while lying down and inserting the cream and then applying the external cream, the burning, itching, and discomfort began immediately to the point where I was scrambling a little. But you guys have to realize that the burning sensation, etc., is the cream actually doing its work and curing the infection. I can only speak for myself, but the itchy irritation and burning sensation only lasted about a good maybe 30 minutes to an hour. The next morning, I was feeling very relieved and a bit swollen a little. For me, it wasn’t as bad as some of the other comments I’m reading. I will continue moving forward to complete the full 7 days as instructed."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took Monistat 7 last night, and it was okay. But this morning, I woke up, and it was burning, it was causing me a lot of discomfort. I took a shower with cool water to try to rinse out the rest of the medication, but it did not work. Since I am still burning, I'm going to stop using the medication and visit my doctor because it's not getting better. I'm extremely upset because I took an over-the-counter test before treatment, and the stick remained yellow, so it said if it's yellow, that means you have a yeast infection. But when I took the medication Monistat 7, I started burning and having lots of irritation. Prior to taking this medication, I did not have any burning or itching, just a slight irritation and discharge. Will never use again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I experienced extreme burning for the first 3 nights using this medication. I had to discontinue medication due to the unbearable burning and irritation. My skin became more inflamed while taking this cream. I read reviews, and while most of them said there would be some burning or irritation, this pain I was experiencing was too much. I couldn’t sleep on the nights I used this medication, and on the last day I decided to use it, it burned so much that I had to scrape it out. This product is NOT for everyone."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m currently battling my 3rd YI. It was mild, but I wanted to treat it before it got worse and out of control. My first time trying Monistat 7, and now I have so much irritation and itch. I’m on my 3rd day, and I thought that each night the itchiness would subdue and be tolerable, but it’s not. One hour after application, it’s slowly calming down but not entirely. So irritable that it makes me want to cry because I can’t do anything about it. I feel horrible that I literally spent money to be uncomfortable. I would definitely recommend a different product, even if it’s generic. DO NOT BUY MONISTAT 7!!! Beware!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "That too for me, and I thought it was just me experiencing the irritation after I inserted the application into my vagina. This pain is nothing I want to go through again. I've had yeast infections in the past, and the treatment was nothing like this. I hope it works because it sure feels like it's doing something down there."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had just applied it, and immediately right after I feel the burn. I felt that the medicine should have a calming effect rather than a burning sensation to the point that it irritates your mind and the feeling of uncomfortable with slight nausea. I bought the 7-day Monistat for my YI. Let's see if tomorrow works better. I had tried other cream-insert brands like Canesten Cream, I felt relief right after use. Hence, Monistat needs to relook into the medications provided in the cream. Because I had bought two boxes, and I regretted getting two boxes (one for spare)."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have had a YI before and have used this product, and it was wonderful! And then I have it again, and it’s painful! First day was fine, then the next 3 days have been the worst. I have no clue how I got any sleep on day 2/3. I just used it and peed after, and wiping it made it so much more irritated! I wanted to try and keep it in all night and woman up, but geez, I’m in pain."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have had a yeast infection before and used Monistat 1, which is the pill-like insertion, and it was heaven! It went away so fast, no burning, no smearing, no discomfort. This time I got the infection again, like 2 years later, and I got Monistat 7, and oh my goodness, it's a literal living nightmare. It makes it so itchy, and I was squirming for like 10 minutes because I couldn't stand the irritation. I had to wipe it completely off, and I'm trying to pee it out because it's making it worse. I would never recommend Monistat 7 to anybody, always Monistat 1, ladies!!!"
