"After nine years of no flare ups, I suddenly found myself with the red cheeks and pustules. I decided to consult a dermatologist who prescribed me sulfa cleanse and a very low dose antibiotic. Within several days, my face was extremely red, raw, and full of large, painful pustules. Heartbroken, I decided to see my regular doctor and he prescribed me metro gel and a stronger antibiotic. I saw results instantly. From one day to the next, my redness and inflammation went down to the point that I noticed it. Now, only 5 days later, my face is back to normal. I am amazed at how fast the metro gel, combined with the right antibiotics, cleared my face up. I am forever grateful to my doctor and metro gel for helping me smile again."

MetroGel (metronidazole) "This product is my miracle. I visited many doctors for the bumps and redness on my face and no one was sure it is rosacea (symptoms are not quite identical to rosacea's symptoms). I used many creams...lotions...strong antibiotics...after all a doctor offered Metrogel and you won't believe it, from the very first application I can see dramatic change in my facial redness and bumps. These acne like bumps are almost disappeared which I hope will be gone even more...thanks to Metrogel I have no side effects so far and use this only at nights followed by a light moisturiser."

"Have been using Metrocream for a week now and my rosacea is much worse then prior to using the cream. I had only redness but within days of using as I had a flare up and got bumps which got progressively worse and spreading. I tried putting a bit of Metrocream on a section of skin with no rosacea and within days had redness and rash pop up. It may be an allergic reaction but either way it I'm trashing Metrocream and seeking out more natural remedies and solutions."

"I have always had acne since I was 12. I am on birth control to help clear acne, but I am used to getting cysts and pimples on my chin area only. But, recently I have been getting papules and bumps that I never had before then all of a sudden with this cold weather it turned to a rash around my cheeks and coming down to my skin, but not on my chin, and rash between my eyebrows and forehead. I was diagnosed with rosacea the kind with the bumps. I was prescribed metronidazole 0.75% cream twice a day and doxy 100mg twice a day. Sometimes I think I notice a difference and other times I don't. It has been 3 days already, but I do not see a huge difference. Hoping after reading the positive reviews that this med will work for me and give me some relief. Will update once I start seeing results!"

Rozex (metronidazole) "I went to the doctors about a couple of small but persistent blemishes on my face. I was prescribed Rozex which is an expensive product. $50 for a small tube. I applied it on my face. The next day I had broken out in disgusting red oily lumps all over my face. They burn and are extremely uncomfortable. I look in the mirror and can’t believe what I’m seeing. I’m a 41 year old male and I’ve never had anything like this happen to me. I'm going to see another dr today to find out what’s going on. Terrible terrible product"

MetroGel (metronidazole) "I treated my face with metrocream for years and it worked quickly and effectively. It was also covered by my insurance. Recently I ran out, and discovered metrocream was no longer available and has been replaced by metrogel. Not covered by my insurance, metrogel cost me $188.19 CDN + tax for a single tube. If that isn't bad enough, it simply does not work. I feel like I was mugged."

"I've been using it for about 2 weeks. After the first few days I noticed a considerable difference in the size of my pores. I tend to have oily skin and as a bonus this medication seems to decrease oil production. I will keep using it."

Rozex (metronidazole) "I have found that this cream improved my face redness, I only use it when I need to. I was told I had rosacea about 10 years ago after having a relatively clear skin. I was about 60 years old and couldn't understand why I got pimples on my face. I probably should persevere more and use it for a longer period of time as the rash returns especially after I have eaten dark chocolate (which I love) or cheap chocolate, I find that the more expensive chocolate like Lint or aldi chocs aren't as bad . I think sugary food makes it break out. I try and avoid these products."

"I'm 44 and have had rosacea (untreated) for about 15 years...with pustules mostly the last 2-3 years...one doctor telling me it was adult acne. Anyway, it got really bad after changing my diet to keto, and I knew it should have cleared my skin up but the pustules got so bad. My Dr prescribed the generic gel and within two weeks the pustules were completely goneband another two weeks and skin texture is wonderful, but the redness remains on my cheeks so only 8/10. I'm going to ask my Dr about something else when I go back for the redness. I'd like to know why I waited so long to treat it. This worked great and my skin hasn't been this clear ever in my life. No side effects that I can tell"

MetroGel (metronidazole) "MetroGel has helped me manage my rosacea down to about 90%. If I stop using it, then I flare right back up. Missing just 1 or 2 days, and poof, pimples start coming up immediately. When I use it religiously, it's better."

"I have found the gel to be extremely helpful (more so than the cream). It does take continuous use for me but it's worth the relief. I also use it on my ears for relief from flushing/burning sensation. Having the Rosasacea under control has also helped tremendously with my dry skin."

"I had seriousl Rosecea that I allowed to go undiagnosed/untreated for years. Until the point it effected my eyes and then I knew I had to do something. I have been using this cream for 5 days now in addition to a sulfa wash, doxycycline daily and CreaVe moisturizer. The results are slow (but my case was extreme so keep that in mind) but I'm starting to notice improvements in the texture of my skin as well as decreased redness and swelling. I use it 2 times daily. My advice is be patient with it. Don't expect overnight results but I think you will be pleased after strict continued use within a week or so."

"I think this stuff is great. I have rosacea that seems to run in the family, worsened by the dryness of winter. I've been using this for a week and it works pretty well. Apply it once before bed and another time during the day, and my skin had significantly improved in redness. The scaliness of rosacea is also gone. Would recommend."

"I had mild to moderate Rosacea and started using the Metro cream two weeks ago. I saw improvement within the first week. I've been using it twice a day after washing my face with Garnier Sulfate -Free Gentle Cleanser. I have dry skin so I then use CeraVe lotion with SPF 30 in the a.m. and CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream in the p.m. These combinations have really worked for me. I think I am ready to cut back to once a day in the p.m. I've been rather impressed with CeraVe moisturizers and the Garnier cleanser. I'm 63 years old and was very frustrated by how my skin was changing having had pretty good skin throughout my life. My skin is now clearer and brighter with no eruptions."

MetroGel (metronidazole) "I long for the days when you could get Metrogel 2%, that was REALLY effective! Now it seems you can only get it in the 1% option which is only effective sometimes and for mild cases. WHY do drug companies do this to us? It's so upsetting..."

MetroGel (metronidazole) "I started using Metrogel 3-4 months ago because Metrocream is not available anymore - unfortunately it isn't working as well as the cream as some bumps are starting to appear on the area treated and this medication is supposed to keep that from happening - it never occurred with the cream - I am trying to find a replacement at this time."

MetroGel (metronidazole) "This is follow up from my comment on 2019-09-10. Once I stopped Metrogel my face flared right back up. It' s important ppl understand (like I didn't) before going on this. This FIXES the problem. If your like me this seems to be what has helped me on post flareup after metrogel. (Face so dry) Keep looking find a natural moisturizer and an oil. You need to create an artificial moisture barrier I don't have one. EXFOLIATE once a week. Get all that dead skin off your face along with any left over moisturizer/oil . Immediately after drying face use oils and moisturizer. Water drys out my face. Why I only do it once a week. Avoid super hot showers. Another big thing for me was SHAMPOO. In showers the shampoo rinses off comes in contact with my forehead which causes INSTANT redness. Find a Natural shampoo that works. These things will cost a bit. A good moisturizer will set you back 40$ or so. Oils maybe 10. Along with Shampoo at 12. Still way better then $220 for prescription meds that only help the problem once its all over your face. Work on prevention."

"I had mild rosacea when I started using metrocream 0.75%. It made me break out extremely badly all over my cheeks and nose. I think it clogged my pores, making the redness and Rosacea much worse. Very disappointed in the setback it gave me."

MetroGel (metronidazole) "Used Metrogel 0.75% on my rosacea for one year. Worked well but it became quite expensive; small tube cost around $200. Switched to 1.0% Metrogel at pharmacist's recommendation because it was much cheaper; $50 for about the same amount. It also worked well for almost two years. Quit using it January 1, 2020 when my tongue became inflamed. I reviewed the adverse effects and one web site noted metallic taste in mouth and cold like symptoms among others effects. Years earlier I had an adverse reaction to amoxicillin, thrush/sore mouth and tongue, so I was aware that adverse effects were possible. I also had a nagging cough for about two years, starting before going on the 1.0% metrogel. Until the inflamed tongue issue I never thought the cough was linked to the metrogel. The metrogel worked very well until I developed adverse reactions."

"I am 71 I have had small bumps on my face along with red Visable veins on my cheeks for years . I also have small bumps below my eyes which I have never been able to get rid of . My dermatologist gave me metronidazole gel because he said it would get rid of the redness and bumps . I started using it and the veins have faded the bumps gone and a surprise is that the small bumps under my eyes are shrinking. My skin is not dry any longer and looks amazing . Great stuff"

"Two months ago I was prescribed metronidazole gel .75 for treating my rosacea. Within days the large number of tiny pimples on my forehead were gone. As well as the redness and roughness of the skin on my temples. The med also reduced the redness on my nose and cheeks. And for me at least, the overall smoothness and dryness reduction is remarkable. My doctor gave me a long term refill and I'm hoping to continue its use if it continues to work this well. Cost is under $30 at my pharmacy, btw."

"I’ve been using metronidazole 1% gel since I was diagnosed with rosacea in my mid 30’s. I’ve had rosacea since about 30 years of age. Everything I did caused redness and papules. The gel worked visibly overnight. In 3 days all papules were gone, like magic. I apply it only once at night (sometimes I get temporary redness and bumps in the morning after my face hits the cold air and/or the hot shower) but they fade away by the time I get to work. I had run out of this medicine around Christmas and within a week the bumps came back by NYE (because the insurance kicked it back saying I can only qualify for 1% if 0.75% didn’t work). The paperwork and back and forth with the insurance lasted 2-3 weeks. I got the 1% tube back and I’m so happy. I can’t wait for it to work its magic to get rid of the bumps that accumulated for the past 2+ weeks."
