For GERD "I took Reglan on August 13th, just one 10 mg dose. Soon as I took it, I got on the road, not expecting anything of it. I had a big panic attack on the road! Smh, we are now in October! I have been through a nightmare of a time and back off of this medication, experienced feelings of derealization, depersonalization, anxiety, severe suicidal depression. After all this time, I had to be put on an anti-depressant, and it’s not a joke!!! This is real, please be aware! They need to stop giving this to people!!!! This isn't right. I’m really suffering, I mean in emotional pain and despair. My muscles are still twitching also!"

For Migraine "I went to the ER with a migraine so bad I couldn't even walk. I got hooked up to an IV that gave me the “migraine cocktail“ (Reglan, Benadryl). I felt the most terrible anxiety I have ever felt in my life. I felt like I was trapped. I kept twitching and fixating on the IV in my arm. I begged and begged and begged for them to take it out. I was prescribed Reglan alone to take when my migraines got bad again. I didn't know it was the Reglan that made me feel this way at first, so I started taking it when I felt a migraine coming on. I will never take this medication again. It is the most terrible feeling in the world. Your heart races and you feel like you're being held down, like you are being put in a near-death scenario. I hate you, Reglan!!"

For Gastroparesis "I was on this medicine for about 2 weeks, and I had to quit taking it. My hands started shaking, and I also developed a head and neck twitch. I also had a difficult time thinking, reacting, and focusing. My vision was blurry, and I often felt anxious. It didn't seem to help as much as it hurt. Now I have to wait to see if my ticks go away."

"WORST experience of my life! I was prescribed Reglan for nausea since I had been given pain medicine for a kidney stone. Immediately after putting the Reglan in my IV, I was a different person. I became extremely agitated. I had muscle spasms in my neck and couldn't stop twitching. I felt insane and like I was crawling out of my skin. I was so tired but couldn't sleep. I felt like what I would imagine roid rage to feel... The absolute worst feeling! I was given Benadryl to dull the side effects, and it didn't touch the symptoms. I had to wait for the medicine to run its course to actually feel normal again. I'm not sure how this medicine is okay to administer, but it needs to be illegal."

For Migraine "Had a headache for 4 weeks. Very severe. Tried everything OTC. Went to ER. Dr. gave a migraine cocktail with Reglan and Benadryl. I weigh 130, 5'6. I immediately started feeling ridiculous anxiety, shaking uncontrollably. Short of breath, feeling like I was going to pass out, and my heart rate was dropping. I felt like I was going to die. I couldn’t even talk to my husband on the phone. Wanted to rip out the IV. I actually stopped the IV and hit the button for help. They had closed the door and I got severe panic. Once the IV was done, they gave me Valium, which helped a little and sent me home. Still had the headache slightly. Have some side effects in the evening and now today. How long does it take to wear off? Awful, awful experience."

For Gastroparesis "Been on metoclopramide 10 mg (generic Reglan) 3x daily for over 10 years for GP. When I don’t take it, my nausea is so bad I cannot eat. I cannot function without it. I have tried most common nausea meds, and it’s the only thing that helps! I’ve developed hand twitches from taking 10 mg 3 times a day. But I found by taking a 1/2 pill every 4-6 hours keeps my nausea under control and no tremors."

For Migraine "Caused immediate dystonic reaction, hallucinations, derealization, depersonalization, agoraphobia, monophobia, daily panic attacks, severe depression, akathisia, legs stopped working, muscle tremors, severe fatigue, chills, fainting, diarrhea, nausea, dry heaving, loss of appetite, acid reflux, shortness of breath, red burning skin, numbness in limbs, headache, restlessness, chest pain. Was given this drug via IV one-time dose! It has now been 6 months and I am still completely disabled, feels like I'm living in a dream, scared all of the time, can't eat, no joy, suffering for months on end. I’ve heard it can take a year or more to recover. Please join the Reglan Support Group on Facebook if you are suffering long-term effects from this med and don’t let doctors gaslight you! Keep in mind I have no history of mental illness and now have similar issues to TBI and severe panic disorder."

For Gastroparesis "I have what has so far been categorized as gastroparesis, and while it did help with my stomach pains after eating, I acquired a heavy restlessness that basically made it impossible to do anything. I could hardly focus my vision, nonetheless my mind, and my muscles felt tense and restless, occasionally twitching. It was almost an anxiety level of antsy feelings that I sort of had to wait out. At least when in pain I can focus and actually do things (albeit with more effort), but with this I was useless."

For Gastroparesis "I'm on Reglan right now for gastroparesis, and it's working great for my stomach. I am shaking a lot more and have restlessness, especially in my legs. Also feeling a little more tense sometimes, but it's really helping with my stomach. Guess you have to weigh the effects vs. what it's helping."

For Migraine "I was given this in an IV (along with Benadryl) in the ER when I had a horrible migraine. The nurse said it would make me tired when she gave it to me at 4 pm. Well, I was tired for about 3 min., then the 'fun' began. Like the other poster, I started to feel extremely anxious. I kept tossing and turning in the bed because I felt like I wanted to crawl out of my skin. I had to wait for 2 IV bags to finish before they would let me leave. When I got home, I was exhausted but at the same time could not sit still to save my life. I had that 'wanting to crawl out of my skin' feeling all night as I paced the house exhausted. I was finally able to fall asleep at 5 am. The next day I was really shaky and still a little bit anxious."

For GERD "When my mom was 70 years old, she was prescribed Reglan by her family MD for GERD and 'slow emptying' of her stomach. She took it 3 times per day with meals and was on it for at least 10 years! At 83 years old, she has terrible dyskinesia now and cannot sleep at night because of her legs, arms, and body shaking all over the place. She has tried several other meds to help with the spasms without any luck! She wishes she had never taken Reglan and that her doctor had been more aware of these terrible, debilitating, lifelong side effects. This is a bad drug. Steer clear of it!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have sickle cell disease, so in addition to severe pain, I have bouts of nausea and vomiting. I was given Reglan in the ER; within 5 minutes, I felt extreme agitation, restlessness, dripping sweat, and shaking uncontrollably. I begged the nurse to tell the doctor I was having a reaction. She did, but with very little urgency, instead telling me to get back in the stretcher, but I couldn't due to sweating, shaking, and needing to pace. I was sent for a chest X-ray, but the tech sent me back, saying she was uncomfortable handling me in this state. I again pleaded with the nurse to call the doctor. He finally came, and I was given Benadryl to reverse the effects. I felt calmer, but it took a while for the shaking to stop. The nurse and doctor acted like I was crazy, smh."

For Migraine "I was given this medicine through an IV while visiting the ER for a migraine. Reglan gave me the worst feeling that I've ever had. I had a major panic attack within minutes. I had weird thoughts, and my body could not stop shaking, especially my legs. There was a pool of sweat under me. I felt trapped and thought I was going to die. I wanted to tear out the IV needle and leave. The panic only lasted 2 hours, but it felt like 2 days. I hope to never have that feeling again."

For Migraine "Went to the ER, and they injected me with this. I immediately began coughing, fell back onto the bed, and began shaking uncontrollably and could not speak. The nurse panicked, and her eyes got teary. She then told me to fall asleep, and I refused because I was so scared! At 24 years old, I was not ready for this, I felt I was going to die. Took me an hour to stop the shaking, and my headache was still there. Never again! I am now traumatized from that experience and am afraid to ever get injected before knowing what exactly the drug is and its effects. Stay away from it, please."

For Migraine "I have severe migraines. I would say on a monthly basis, and usually they give me morphine through the IV in the ER room. But one time, the doctor decided to give me this Reglan, which changed my life into the worst! I do not know how this medicine can treat something! I felt a burning sensation first in my stomach, and then I started to think that I'm going to die because I wanted to pull out the IV, and I was restless, shaking, panicking, anxious, and I wanted to pull out the IV line. The nurses looked at me like I was possessed by a demon! After one year, I still feel anxious and weird. I know this med changed my life into the worst!"

For Migraine "Went to ER with a terrible migraine and vomiting. I was given the cocktail of Reglan and Benadryl. I have ended up having the worst reaction ever and scared to death. My heartbeat went to 140+, I had uncontrolled muscle movement, dizziness, had a feeling I was going to pass out, my limbs were shaking enormously, I couldn't produce words to explain what was happening either!"

For Migraine "Had a myelogram on a Friday. By Sunday, I had the worst headache in my life! Tried to get through the pain, but by Monday morning, I was told to go to the ER. I told them I had a spinal headache, not my typical migraine. They gave me IV fentanyl, which calmed it for 20 minutes. They then gave me the 'cocktail' of Benadryl, Reglan, and Toradol. Within minutes, I was shaking violently and couldn't control it. It made me so nauseated. I thought I was going to either have a seizure or a heart attack! It didn't give me any relief at all-not even sleepy. After several unsuccessful pages to anesthesia for a blood patch, I said I had enough and wanted out of there (after more than 6 hours in the ER)."

For GERD "I went to the ER with extreme nausea and pain from an ovarian cyst I had. I was given Reglan through an IV before I went home. The nurse told me before he gave it to me that a side effect was having really bad anxiety. Minutes after being given the Reglan, I started shaking uncontrollably and broke out in hives all over my body. I had a total freak-out moment and have never been that scared in my entire life. DO NOT TAKE REGLAN!!"

For Migraine "Given IV with Toradol & Benadryl. My headache went away almost immediately. Soon after that, I started shivering and trembling. I dismissed it, thinking I was just cold because of the hospital temperature & the IV fluids. I also had to pee so bad that I unhooked it myself because I could not wait for the nurse to come in and help me. I was so restless and anxious that I drove home, knowing the nurse told me to call a ride, but it's like I couldn't control the urge to just make it home and go to bed. I didn't realize that all of those symptoms were side effects of the medicine until I got home & started to tremble more & was unable to sleep. Since then, I've been having panic attacks & anxiety, muscle stiffness & twitches. DO NOT TAKE."

For Migraine "I've had a headache for a little over a month, followed by nausea. However, yesterday there was some pressure with it, so I went to the ER. At the ER, I was told that I would receive a migraine cocktail, which was Benadryl, Reglan, and IV fluids. Not knowing what to expect, I accepted. As soon as I was given the medicine through my IV, I immediately began to feel jittery. My legs started shaking, it felt like something was crawling on me, and then I got extremely sleepy. I kept falling asleep, but every time I woke up, I had some serious anxiety. I never want to experience that feeling again. And what do you know, today my head is starting to hurt again."

For Lactation Augmentation "I took 5 mg of Reglan one day and two 2.5 mg the next day. About four days later, my eyes started twitching, and I had muscle twitches throughout my whole body. What is worse is that some of the medicine must have passed to my daughter in my breastmilk, and I worry about her having side effects. It is black boxed labeled for tardive dyskinesia in Canada and in the U.S. It is a very powerful drug, and I am crossing my fingers that I won't have twitches for the rest of my life. Please do not take this drug, especially just to be able to breastfeed your baby. Formula is way safer for you and your baby. There are so many other ways to increase lactation than resorting to this drug. The clinical studies are not even sure that it helps."

For Migraine "6/10/19 I received the migraine cocktail for the first time. The doctor was very careful to push the Reglan slowly into the IV. At first, I felt fine, but once she left the room, I got hot, sweaty, and anxious. I had full-body tremors, sweat through my clothes, and felt like I needed to rip the IV out and run. My severe migraine is gone, but I would recommend not trying this medication if you already have anxiety or if you’re sensitive to medications."

"DO NOT take this medicine. May be the worst drag I ever taken. I have a lot of side effects, like depression, and my face numb, my neck stiff like stone, my body shake for 9 days now, and I only took it for 3 days at a dose of 3 times a day."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I went to the ER for extreme nausea and vomiting. They gave me Reglan. Within minutes, I started having a psychiatric break. I had never experienced anything like it. My body wanted to rip out my IV and run from the hospital. My hands were shaking, and I couldn’t focus well enough to even make a phone call. My brain knew I was out of control, but it couldn’t stop the reaction. I felt completely helpless. I tried to explain how I felt to the doctor, and he threatened to send me to the psych ward. One of the nurses finally suggested I might be having an allergic reaction. They gave me two doses of Benadryl, and 15 minutes later I was back to myself. I will not ever take this medication again!"
