"I am 33 and have Irritable Bowel Syndrome-Constipation. My bowels have a great habit of becoming immune to whatever medicines I try, so after Amitiza was my savior it no longer worked. So my doctor gave me samples of Linzess. I have 2 major IBS problems: constipation and severe bloating/abdominal distension. I am giving Linzess a 7 for the bloating/distension as that is why my GI doctor gave it to me. As for the constipation, it gave me watery stools for a few days then stopped working. I've been on it over a month. My side effects are - I have horrid sinus pain and pressure, constant runny nose drip, lots of fatigue, and decreased appetite. So my belly is a normal size now, but I have to have a tall bottle of magnesium citrate for a bowel motion."

"I started taking Linzess 3 weeks ago for IBS-C. I have suffered with IBS since I was 18 or so. If I didn't take anything over the counter I could go 4-5 days without a movement. My Dr gave me the starting dose which had little effect for me. Once he called in the 290 mg I can't believe the difference. Sure I've had a couple of headaches and bloating, but it has been a God send to me. No diarrhea for me at all. I am going everyday, sometimes more than once a day and have actually lost 5 lbs. I am also surprised see when people say they've experienced rapid weight gain because I've experienced the exact opposite. Glad I didn't read those reviews before starting!"

"I have had IBS most of my life with feeling of fatigue from constipation and cramping. Tried not eating certain foods, no gluten no dairy but never seemed to overcome this issue. Tried every bottle for sale to help with this and seem to make issues worse and only a temp solution. I got a script for Linzess 145 and decided to try it out in the evening after dinner to see what would happen. I finally had a normal BM. Decided to then take it as directed in morning on empty stomach it also works but will give you the squirts. Will try the evening again and morning as my schedules allow. Main thing is I'm moving my food through now and no cramping etc. love it so far."

"I have suffered from irritable bowel syndrome-constipation for 16 years and I had tried just about everything on the market. I finally gave up and after a few years of having nothing my new doctor gave me Linzess. I was sure it would be like most of the others but it worked right away and has continued to work for 3 months. I love it. Thank you to the pharmaceutical company for this product. My bloating and bad cramps have gone away. I did have to change how I take it, it says to take 30 minutes before I eat but I take it after I have eaten some of my meal because it seems to work better. I will say that you must be near a bathroom when the urge to go hits because you can't hold off."

"I tried this new medicine from my Doctor's sample. 290 once a day. It worked the first time within one hour from swallowing. I usually have a movement once a week, I had fourteen movements that one day, unfortunately they became all water after the first couple. I took the following couple days off to get rehydrated and then tried it again, I think I am on my tenth movement in three hours from taking. The pill did take away my pain and cramps but I had to cancel my plans for the day but it is well worth not having the pain and cramps of constipation."

"IBS-C my entire adult life (44-yr old female.) I have done it all - tried everything natural and prescribed. I cut out dairy, gluten, red meat... Was drinking prune juice, using fleet supps almost daily, NEVER having a decent or "normal" BM. My GI doc gave me samples of Linzess yesterday; I took it this morning and exactly one hour later : WHA-LA. A "perfect" BM!!! NO cramps. NO diarrhea. If you have trouble going, please try this. I am absolutely thrilled! Not sure what my insurance will cover, but I don't even care - this is my miracle pill, and it is going to make a huge difference in my life."

"I have been on Linzess for a while now. Its effectiveness is hit or miss. Some days it doesn't work at all; I experience five consecutive hours of diarrhea on the days it actually moves the bowels. Never, ever take this medication before going to bed! For the first time in my life, I have developed kidney stones. A new Phase IV clinical study provided data that 86% of the participants who developed kidney stones while on Linzess were women, and 67% of those who developed stones developed them within 1-6 months of taking Linzess. I am going back to Sennokot S at night. It works fine without causing kidney stones and hours of diarrhea."

"I have been using Linzess for over a week. I had a lot of success with Resotran for three years until it stopped working. I was back to being bloated/distended and constipated. I also gained weight when I noticed that the med were not working any longer. I was miserable. I did some research and realized that Linzess was available and covered under my insurance plan. My doctor gave me a prescription and I finally found relief again!! All the reviews I read made me a little nervous but it's not as bad as I thought. It does clean you out! I take the med in the morning 1/2 hr before I eat and within 2-3 hrs I have at least three bowel movements. My bloating/distension has improved and I lost weight. I hope it continues to work!"

"I've been on Linzess for almost a week and a half. In the beginning, it did not seem to work at all. Now it seems like I'm going every other day, but I have diarrhea a lot on the second day. I used to take seven vegetable laxatives a day, and I'm very happy not to be doing that anymore. I'm going to stay on it for a while and see if it gets better and hopefully regulate my bowel habits."

"I tried to give it a chance but it made me sicker each of the 16 days I took it for my chronic constipation/IBS. Within a half hour of taking it I developed headache and nausea. Following days had same along with diarrhea and sharp belly pains. I'll stick to my natural remedies and healthier foods."

"Took the 290mg dose and less than an hour had severe cramping and bloating! Passed a lot of foul smelling gas and about an hour after had explosive watery diarrhea! I will not recommend this drug although it helped with the impaction quickly the smell is awful and the cramping and diarrhea is not worth it unless it’s last resort! Try lactose medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil or which works much better with less side effects"

"I started this a week ago because I was having incredibly intense cramps and nausea every time I needed to poop. I experienced massive diarrhea about an hour after I took it. I have other digestive issues, including Gastroparesis, GERD, and kidney problems, so I'm used to these issues. So I continued to take it and deal with the fallout diarrhea. Yesterday, I had the best day I've had in months. When I took the linzess, I didn't have the diarrhea and in fact had a normal day! I think this stuff might be effective if you can get past the initial diarrhea part and let it work for a week or so. I'm a little nervous about reports that it stops working after a month, but I'm going to see what happens."

"I've suffered from constipation all my life, after turning 50, I have allergies of food, peanuts and cayenne pepper. Some medication also. I took Linzess yesterday and this morning had diarrhea, I am weak, dizziness, headache, tongue tingling, my chest tightened, and have bled from rectum, small blot, but scary. I'm just not taking it anymore. I have benadryI to take for head aches. I've taken Linzess one other time and that's why I quit it, but forgot. So everyone's different, but I can die from allergies. There needs to be more information and drug interactions done on theses kinds of medicines. And doctors & NP's check your patients medical file."

"Linzess is working great. After not having a BM for 7 days, I went to the emergency room where the hardened stool had to be digitally removed -very uncomfortable! I was diagnosed with IBS-C and started on Linzess 145mcg 18 months ago. I find that taking it every other day, occasionally every third day, gives me a BM that day and also usually on the second day. My only negative is the price. On Medicare Advantage, if I took it every day my cost would be $47/month but the charge toward the do-nut hole would be over $6,000 per year."

"I’ve been on this medication since November at 145 mcg and I either have mostly watery diarrhea to where I have to run to the bathroom and then there are days where I’m just constipated. I have rarely had any normal bowel movements since starting the medication. Not sure if I need to up it or lower the dose."

"Linzess has been extremely helpful for my constipation. I am able to go every day now, sometimes more then once. My only two complaints are the diarrhea and weight gain. I am a bit of a gym addict and go at least 5 times per week, running and weight lifting. I have a very healthy diet around 1300 calories a day, high protein and fiber, low fat, low carb and low sugar. Since I have been on Linzess (4 weeks consistantly), I have gained 7lbs. I believe I am retaining water despite being able to go to the bathroom often. This is the only drug that has worked to alleviate the constipation and I have tried MANY! However, I am not happy about the bloating and weight gain."

"I've suffered from Irritable Bowel Syndrome almost 30 yrs & before I started taking Linzess the only thing that helped me was Perideim it gave me an opportunity to visit the bathroom twice sometimes three x's a day, which meant a lot to me, but I had to take it a certain time of the day which was fine because I didn't have to be confined in the house. But my Dr. referred Linzess to me. The only difference is this works quicker & I can't stress hard enough how important it is to be near a restroom, I give 10 thumbs up to the makers of this medicine it really helps me but unfortunately I have to return to taking my Peridiem, Lizness is too expensive!"

"Linzess has been a blessing. I’m in my 50’s and have had constipation issues half my life. Later diagnosed with IBS, diverticulosis, and partial anal stenosis. My preferred regimen after a few years of using it, is early morning every other day. I make sure I have a 4 hour window of non-interrupted bathroom access. The 1st bowel movement begins at an 1 hour and 15 to 20 minutes after taking the medication. Then several more times for 3 and a half to 4 hours. Yes, it gives me diarrhea but that’s nothing compared to the years of pain and discomfort."

"At first, I loved it. I have had mouth ulcers and stomach pains since I was a child. I was put on this and immediately the mouth ulcers went away as did my consistent stomach pains. BUT....a few weird things occurred. The first week I was on 175, right after taking it I would get a surge of irritability, like mental irritability. I felt agitated and short-tempered out of nowhere. This stopped when I shifted down to the 72mg, but then things got weirder. I started feeling pins and needles up my neck (front), feet and hands. As if my body had been slept on, constantly. I thought it might be a pinched nerve in my back, so I went to a chiropractor. The day after my adjustment, I skipped a dose of Linzess by accident, and the pins and needles stopped. But the moment I took it again, instant pins and needles in my front neck, hands, and feet. If you google, this is not a normal side effect for this drug. BUT it is indeed a side effect, the moment I stopped taking it, the next day, pins, gone."

"Oct-2012, Had colectomy with anastimosis because muscle and nerves had stopped working on colon and I let it go too long because nothing helped. If only I had this few years ago before I gave up hope. Praying it will save small intestine that's left. As a Plus, it takes the 8 pain from irritable bowel syndrome flare down to a livable life. Maximum dose. If I didn't have a Fibromyalgia flare & lesions formed inside I'd be perfect. Gives me hope & gives hope to many who were losing options. Did have to Fight Blue Cross to cover but hey realized it was cheaper than many ER visits for pain & constipation. Makes life easier. Thank You for helping me get my life back. Had almost given up."

"I did not have any diarrhea when I started it and I have been using it for 6 months. I have noticed a big difference in the last 3 months in that my stools are much smaller and softer. The biggest difference for me is pain reduction. My episodes of crippling abdomenal pain has all but stopped. That has changed my life!"

"I have such severe constipation that I end up in the emergency room for it because I'm so full I can't eat or drink for days. My stomach will not growl for days because there is no room. I will go weeks and no bowel movement. I tried everything even prescription medications as far as them giving me the stuff you drink when you get a colonoscopy. My doctor finally gave me linzess. I take 145 in the am. First two days I did have watery stools pretty quick after taking. Next few days it was hours and I only had regular bowel movements. Every few days I do have watery stools. I am still new to the meds. So far though this is a miracle!!! Before I couldn't eat, drink, leave the house, sleep for days because of the pain."

"This drug has changed my life! I have dealt with chronic constipation and bloat for 30 years. Not any more! I started taking it everyday but now take as needed due to having regular bm's on my own since starting this drug. I see people stating it doesn't work for them. Trick is to drink at least 8oz. of water with it 30 minutes before you eat. The more water, the faster/better it works. I have bm' s within an hour every time. Cost. I have insurance and the company has an online coupon code to use at the pharmacy. Regular cost is $410.00, with insurance is $150.00, and with coupon it costs me $60.00. That's still expensive but better than $150.00. I love this medication! Happy pooping!"
