For Pain "I'm in a battle over the switch to Mylan lidocaine 5% patches. I agree with everyone here-they don't work, they don't stick, and they're a cheaper version containing less medication (140 mg vs. 700 mg). The pharmacist tried to tell me the Mylan patch still delivers 50 mg/gram of lidocaine. Yes, but it's a thinner patch and therefore less effective. In fact, Mylan's own website states that 'the patches are made of different materials containing a different amount of medication.' For those of you who say that Watson no longer makes lidocaine patches, they have changed their name to Actavis. There is also another manufacturer, Qualitest. Both of these brands make a product similar to Lidoderm. Ask for these brands specifically!"

For Pain "I have used the lidocaine patches by Watson for years for osteoporosis in my neck and back, and they decreased my pain from a 10 to a 3. No narcotics needed. Now I have been given the lidocaine patch made by Mylan, and they are absolutely HORRIBLE. WASTE OF MONEY. USELESS. Not only are they nearly impossible to separate from the plastic backing, once you finally get them on, they start peeling up immediately. These are a total waste of money, and someone should do something about this because the Mylan company surely doesn't care. Now I will need to take a pill to help with the pain..."

For Pain "These patches are worthless. They do not adhere to skin and are plastic. I have used another brand before, and they were wonderful. I would like to get reimbursed for copay, which is only $10, but these patches are not worth getting for free, even free would be overcharging."

For Neuropathic Pain "Mylan lidocaine patches are a waste of money, the adhesive and lidocaine layer is too thin - 1/5 the thickness of the Watson generic brand. The clue is the total lidocaine is only 140 mg per pad versus Watson's 700 mg, and thus much less adhesive since the ratio of lidocaine to adhesive must remain the same. Mylan won't stay stuck to the skin, and the non-stretchable backing hurts if/when the patch rolls and pinches the skin. Very disappointing to pay so much out of pocket for such a poor attempt at a product. Never again with the Mylan brand."

For Pain "Milan brand lidocaine patches are a waste of time. They will not stay on. At all. Not even for a few minutes. They don't stretch. At all. They are super thin but stick to itself and are completely ineffective. The two other manufacturers of lidocaine patches have done well. Milan put a terrible waste of a product on the market. Obviously not field-tested. If they were able to have even one patch stay on someone for 12 hours, I would be shocked. That person would have to be in a coma. These are expensive, and once the box of 30 has been broken open, that's it. Those of us who get a 3-month supply have a lot of work to do if we want to exchange it. My pharmacist did easily."

Lidocaine topical "I have lower back pain, herniated disks, disk bulging, disiccation. The Mylan 5% lidocaine patch does not stick to the skin - it pulls away moments after application (followed directions on several different occasions). If the patch does not stick to the skin, it cannot possibly work. Qualitest (ENDO Pharmaceuticals) is a 5% patch that sticks and works for me. The second best is TEVA Actavis 5% patch. Mylan is an inferior product, and I would not purchase it ever again."

For Pain "The VA now dispenses the Mylan patches instead of the Qualitest. They are not even remotely comparable, plus the Mylan patches give me a headache. Do not accept these patches, as you will be disappointed and will waste your money."

For Neuropathic Pain "I've been using lidocaine patches for years now. Recently, I became a Medicare patient and can no longer afford them. A friend of mine brought me some of hers. They were made by Mylan. 1. They would not stick unless I used paper tape to hold them down (this is a must if you have to use these). 2. When I wore them on the inside of my knee, they split. 3. I did not receive any pain relief. 4. These cost $100's if you do not have insurance. Medicare will not pay. 5. Anyone that gives this product anything but a 1 must have stock in the company. The good news! While I cannot afford them, I will tell you I was using the same percentage but made by a company called Watson. These patches are over 1/8' thick gel/cloth back. These work!"

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "This company is ripping people off, as the patches do not stick at all - they are useless and therefore should not be sold as pain patches due to they don't stay on to relieve ANY PAIN. They need to be sued for fraud!!!!! How dare they sell a product that is supposed to help those of us that are in so much pain and are still in pain!!!!! Shame on you, Mylan!!!"

For Pain "Totally useless all around. No relief, and doesn’t stick. Hard to peel the backing off. No more effective than putting Scotch tape on, though at least that would stick better. How is this even on the market? Didn’t know I was being sent this awful generic and had waited weeks. Have to see now about getting the usual Lidoderm patch. Guess another month of back pain."

For Neuropathic Pain "I used Lidoderm patches for many years and I relieved my pain. It is horrible that Medicare does not allow me to use it because I don't have shingles or diabetes! I wish to know who made that stupid decision or if it is Medicare that doesn't want to pay for it."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "Imagine a cortisone injection from a needle with a blunt end. You would never get the cortisone injected. These patches are similar. You place it in position, and it immediately begins to roll off. It can't be kept on long enough for the medication to be induced. They're cheaper than the others for a reason - they are cheap! The Salon Pas lidocaine patch stays on and works. It is twice the price, but you at least get relief from your pain. Do not buy Aspercreme patches!"

For Pain "Personal Warning. Dangerous substance. Please do not use numbing cream unless you are absolutely certain of what you are doing. I used a 5% cream, I spread a decent amount on my shoulders and neck to help with pain, but since no effect kicked in, I decided to just wash it off in my morning shower. I did not know that it should not be combined with heat. The shower's heat hastened absorption and crashed my system in an immediate overdose. I became dehydrated, could not stand, lost feeling in my legs, and could not stop shaking violently. My extremities became numb and burned, and I was lightheaded and fighting to stay conscious. I struggled to breathe and move, and I had to call emergency help. The cream had also absorbed into my shirt, which, when I put it on later without realizing, gave me a second dose. I have never been more miserable and in pain in my life. Please, please be very careful with this substance. You could lose your life. This needs far stricter regulation."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I have cervical and lumbar spinal stenosis, herniated discs, and several other spinal issues. The lumbar part causes extreme pain in my hip to the point I can barely walk. I'm waiting for a pain management appointment, but after seeing them for cervical problems, I have zero confidence they will help. In the meantime, my GP prescribed these in addition to oral pain medication. After reading reviews here, I'm glad I went to Walgreens because I got the ones from Watson. They stick well so far. Too soon to say how well they work because I just applied a little while ago. It does seem a little better already, though. Pretty expensive co-pay, but if it helps, I'll find a way to afford it."

For Neuropathic Pain "I use prescription Lidocaine cream (3%) and Lidocaine ointment (5%) for my neuropathic foot pain (caused by diabetes). It works well - for about 6 hours. The only downside is I have to leave it on for about an hour before I can rub it off, so it can be messy and uncomfortable if I have to put on socks and walk before that time. Also, it can (obviously) only be used on the bottoms of my feet when I'm stationary. But most of my pain is on the tops of my feet and toes, so for me it works. The prescription forms can be expensive without insurance. In that case, you might try Topicaine OTC. It didn't look too expensive to me. For the relief it brings, you might find it worth it. I also take Lyrica, but it doesn't suffice when used alone."

Lidocaine topical for Hemorrhoids "This cream works within a few minutes for pain from hemorrhoids. It is easy to use, a smaller than pea-sized dot of it is plenty and tends to burn slightly for a minute or less, then pain is gone. The only drawback is its effect doesn't last more than a couple of hours, and it says not to exceed six applications in a day. It is pricey, but it can be purchased without a prescription at any pharmacy. I suggest ordering before you need it because it usually has to be ordered, and the wait can be... painfully long. I bought it to use to prevent electrolysis pain, but I'm so glad I had it when I had a flare-up."

For Neuropathic Pain "I have used these patches with great success for years, but yesterday I was given the new Mylan brand, and they are awful. They will not stick, and I am allergic to surgical tape, so I can't keep them on. They just plain will not stick except to themselves. I am stuck with 90 patches that I most likely will not be able to use, and I am going to be in pain all month until I can get my next RX. You can bet I will ask for my old brand next time."

For Pain "I am a recovering addict who suffers from terrible back pain. Unfortunately, I am unable to take any scheduled pain medications because of my fear of relapse. My Dr. suggested lidocaine patches by Endo Pharmaceuticals. I told him that I was willing to try anything because 1200 mg of ibuprofen was not touching the pain. I am so grateful for his suggestion. These patches have helped relieve my pain so much. I am able to sleep through the night and face my day pain-free. Thank you, Endo, for making these patches. I was out of alternatives and had lost hope."

For Pain "I was just prescribed lidocaine 5% patches by my physician, and the pharmacy filled it with the generic patch by Mylan. Do not waste your time on these, they're not like the lighted term patches with the white polyester-type backing, they are plastic, and they do not stick. I'm taking them back to the pharmacy tomorrow to see if I can get refunded for them since I'll never be able to use them. I've used the patches by Watson before, and they were very good, these ones, however, are a waste of money."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "Just diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (cancer) of my lower lip. Waiting to undergo beam radiation therapy. Covers almost half my lip. Using lidocaine viscous prescribed by my Dr. to numb the intense pain he warned me I would have. He was so right. Allows me to sleep."

For Pain "If I could give a lower rating, I would. All the previous complaints listed here are totally correct. These Mylan patches are no good, horrible, worthless, and a waste of money. I complained to the pharmacy, which couldn't do anything, they suggested I call the manufacturer, Mylan, which I did. At first, they acted helpful, saying they would call my pharmacy and see if they could adjust the brand for one that works, and would call me back. They also gave me a case number (that's a red flag). No one from Mylan ever called back. I called again and got a runaround, and a few days later, I got a letter in the mail from Mylan basically saying their product was sound and I should follow the directions on the box or watch the video (as if I hadn't already!)."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "Works for pain, but also antibacterial! And a gentle spray! I absolutely love this product because I didn't get any reactions (like I did from all the others), I healed faster, and it does take away itching and pain like a charm. The other products didn't work nearly as well. I was disappointed that my local drug stores don't carry it, so I had to look it up and purchase online. I can't believe stores don't carry it. It's a phenomenal product as far as I'm concerned, and since I'm so sensitive, my friends and family use me as a barometer. They love this stuff, too."

For Pain "The first time I tried this patch, I cut it into pieces to match where my pain was, and each piece curled up and did not stick, so I applied tape to keep it on. Within a few hours, it all curled up and dried. The second day I tried Mylan patches, I kept the patch in one piece, thinking that would help. I framed it with tape because it began peeling up the moment I applied it. It does not adhere to the skin, and it’s hard to peel off the transparent covering. This is a terrible product at a very high price."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "It didn’t help at all. Was told that it would help numb me enough to where I could eat a decent meal, as I hadn’t been able to eat or drink for 4 days straight due to a really bad case of strep, and I was hoping for some relief. Took it and nothing happened. I started with a teaspoon. When that didn’t work, I tried 2 teaspoons to see if that worked, but it didn’t. Very disappointing and felt like my doctor gave me false hope."

Lidocaine topical "These Lidocaine patches by Mylan are a complete waste of money! I was given them for pain after surgery. They do not stay on the skin regardless of washing and drying the skin! I have to use actual surgical tape just to hold the patch on, but it comes away from the skin in the center where you can’t tape it! Rip off!"
