For Hashimoto's disease "After being diagnosed with Hashimoto's (awful idiopathic urticaria/welts from being touched), I was told to try generic Synthroid. My rashes disappeared. Months later, I did a self-trial and came to find out it caused my awful acid reflux (so bad I was screaming and wrenching in pain), so it was a choice of off Synthroid totally or try Tirosint. My TSH and other levels are great and no more daily acid reflux. Thank you, Tirosint!"

For Hashimoto's disease "I have had Hashimoto's disease for 33 years. I have taken Tirosint for 13 years. I have allergies to dyes and other excipients in medications. I tried other brands, generic and natural, but Tirosint has worked well for me. If my dose needs adjustment, they offer 13 to 25 mcg options to make transitioning up or down easier on my body. Always advocate for yourself. It's your body, you know how you feel. Speak up!"

For Hashimoto's disease "I've been taking Tirosint since 2013. It changed my life. I attempted to go back to Synthroid and completely went backwards in my treatment, which caused my metabolism to slow down and my organs weren't functioning well. I'll never change from Tirosint again. I did have an issue when it changed to Tirosint or whatever the company is called, and the taste was horrible. I relapsed to the point I had to take time off of work. I gained 25 lbs within 4 months. I'm still fighting to get myself back to normal. I did report it. Hoping things change soon since I'm fighting harder than ever to feel the way I did before the changes. Insurance sometimes covers a small amount, but it's mostly out of pocket."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I've had my thyroid removed for over ten years now. I've taken generic thyroid medicine, Synthroid, and now Tirosint. The dye in my Synthroid kept me from getting regulated. My body responded well to Tirosint for about 5 consecutive years. Due to insurance changes, I got off of it last year and got back on this year when my physician made a few calls to assist me. To my dismay, Tirosint is not working for me, even with me taking Cytomel to help me digest and absorb it. I'm tired, have thinning hair, levels are at 8.999, and I'm sweating with every movement. I'm quite disappointed that I can't get regulated."

For Hashimoto's disease "I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's at the age of 18. I started on TIROSINT 50 but wasn't doing anything at all, my TSH was exactly the same. I jumped up to 75 and still no change. Finally, after 4 months, I got up to 100, and only then did my TSH start dropping. As of today, I maintain a TSH value of 2 with TIROSINT 100. I want to point out that the prices that all of you state seem quite marked up. In Greece, I pay 8.50€-8.80€ for a month's worth of supplies (1 box of 30 capsules TIROSINT 100). I've read that you can pay up to 80-100$ for 84 days' worth, which is insane! And it's not covered by health insurance in Greece. It's crazy how much markup you have to pay! For me, it's kind of weird, and I get quite uncomfortable thinking that I'll have to depend on this medicine for the rest of my life. I can't imagine myself taking this for like 40-60 years every day. In my 2.5 years using TIROSINT, I had 0 issues with it."

For Underactive Thyroid "I'll be switching to Tirosint most probably. The reason is that Mylan, which makes the generic Levothyroxine, has switched to using mannitol as the preservative. I've been getting headaches for weeks until I traced it to the mannitol and started using some pills for old bottles."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I have Hashimoto's, and I've had half my thyroid removed (thanks to Midwest doctors who never even tested for Hashimoto's before assuming it was cancerous and removing it…). Anyway, I've had a horror story of a life with my thyroid. I went years after they removed half with no medication at all because they told me my other side would work on its own. It didn't. Lost babies, felt like rubbish for years. I read all the stories on the internet that said Armour was the best, and I was pregnant and didn't want to lose another baby, so that's what I did. I was on Armour from 2010-2021, and for some reason, Armour just stopped working for me in 2020 despite huge dose increases. Switched to Tirosint and Cytomel combo, and it's been 5 weeks, and I don't think my dose is perfect yet, but I'm becoming more regular and less constipated, my breasts aren't sore all the time, and it's day 28 of my cycle, and I don't feel like a run-down mess!!! Tirosint is awesome!!!!!"

For Underactive Thyroid "I switched over to Tirosint after taking levothyroxine for the past two years. It worked for me, I felt great and energetic. The only downside after switching is that I gained at least 10-15 lbs, and my face has gotten puffy. I hate it. My insurance won’t cover the dose I’m on (150 mcg), and it’s just way too expensive out of pocket. I believe my last refill was around $150, the pharmacy was able to bring it down to $113, which is still a lot for only a 28-day supply. I just switched to Armour Thyroid (90 mg). Hopefully, that will help with the weight loss, it’s also NDT, which is another good alternative if you prefer the natural route."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "After other useless generics, name-brand Tirosint was most effective. Known as the hypoallergenic, it has no dyes and weird additives. Worth the name-brand money. My thyroid removed in 2001. Give it a couple of weeks to level out. Covered due to the failure of others, have the doc get a drug exception."

For Hashimoto's disease "I was on Synthroid 50 mcg and generic levothyroxine 50 mcg. With both medications, I had palpitations, heat intolerance, and severe insomnia. Synthroid was worse than levothyroxine. My TSH numbers were fine, but I couldn't tolerate the insomnia. The positive thing was that I lost 30 pounds. I was switched to Tirosint 50 mcg and immediately could finally sleep. No more insomnia, no more palpitations, no more heat intolerance. I recently got my lab work back, and I have a normal TSH, but I've started getting hypothyroid-like symptoms I used to have when I was on no thyroid medication. So even though my TSH is normal and I can sleep, I am having weight gain, increased constipation, and hairline eczema. Alas, I will try another brand!"

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I was on generic levothyroxine for a couple of years and developed wheezing. When I received inhalers and even nebulizer treatment, it had adverse effects and worsened my asthma symptoms. I read about Tirosint and persuaded my PCP to prescribe it. I have to pay $80 every month out of pocket. My asthma is completely gone. It was drug-induced, probably some fillers in the generic levothyroxine caused it. I wish my insurance company would make it less expensive."

For TSH Suppression "I felt so good for 1, 2 months of taking Tirosint. My face looked sharper and I had more energy, also, my eyelashes grew and my nails got stronger. I loved the medication. However, it changed after 3 months. My head started spinning, I couldn't get up from my bed all day. I thought I got a cold or something. I would get dressed to try to start my day, but I couldn't walk straight. One morning I felt really good and didn't have the spinning sensation, then soon after I took Tirosint, the feeling started again. I think this drug is not the long-term solution."

For Underactive Thyroid "This medicine I thought would be very good, boy was I wrong. It lowered my numbers, but it caused me to run a low-grade fever that is making me miserable, and I just discovered what was causing the fever. I thought to start looking at all my medicines again, and lo and behold, it stated that one of the less side effects was fever. I am going to see if my medical doctor will change it to something else."

For Hashimoto's disease "I am 25 years old and was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s a few months ago. Taking Tirosint is the best I have felt in the 2 years of being diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I have more energy, the pill is easier to swallow (being gel), my mood has increased positively, and I can maintain weight. I will never take general levothyroxine or Synthroid again."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I have been on Tirosint for about 7 weeks. I was on Synthroid, then levothyroxine, then Armour. This is the only medicine that seems to work. I also take 5 mg of T3. I take it first thing at 5:40 AM, wait an hour or more to eat, and it’s successful. I sleep well, I’m losing weight. I’m normally around 150 pounds, and I gained up to 210 on the other medications. I’m finally feeling more normal again. Let’s hope it stays this way."

For Hashimoto's disease "Tirosint gave me my life back! I was suffering for 17 years while on Synthroid. I had Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism so bad that I had to have my thyroid removed. I feel it was due to Synthroid not working. All of the poison they put in Synthroid and all other thyroid medications should be illegal! My levels were NEVER stable. I felt like I was losing my mind, and doctors would not listen to me. My new doctor put me on Tirosint because my levels were so bad that I was on my way to myxedema coma. My body was not absorbing all of the Synthroid tablets. Tirosint immediately brought me back to normal, and ALL of my crappy symptoms, stomach pain and hair loss, etc., were gone! My levels have been steady for over two years now. I honestly thought my life was going to be miserable forever! Thanks to Tirosint, I am happy again and will forever be grateful! The only issue I have is the very high cost, and now my new insurance is not wanting to approve it."

For Hashimoto's disease "I have been on Tirosint for several years, and haven’t noticed any type of changes. I just don’t always feel great. But for those of you upset with the price, which is ridiculous. Even with insurance, Tirosint has a coupon online. Just type in Tirosint coupon. Hope this helps!! I pay $25.00 a month."

For Underactive Thyroid "I’ve been on Tirosint since June 2019 for mildly low thyroid. Now I know TSH under 10 indicates thyroid disease. I recently realized my thyroid fluctuates. In June 2020, I fell and broke my ankle, continued my thyroid medication not knowing, my ankle didn’t heal. Then I fell again in November 2020, broke it again, and I ended up with two fractures on the same ankle. Long story short, I was overmedicated, although my TSH was normal on Tirosint. I’m still confused as to how this happens, but I went off the medication and my ankle healed in 4 weeks when since June it wouldn’t heal at all. Thyroid medication is serious medication. Thyroid disease can be managed with diet and even reversed, especially if the TSH is under 10. That’s what I’ve learned from taking Tirosint."

For Hashimoto's disease "Horrible medication. As a 65-year-old with a recent diagnosis of Hashimoto's disease, I was on this drug for 2 months. The second month, things got worse. Chest pains, not sleeping, terrible muscle aches. Well, I ended up in the emergency room with chest pains, which led to a triple bypass operation! This drug should be off the market!"

For Hashimoto's disease "I was on it for two years as I liked the idea of no fillers, etc., yet all of a sudden when I needed more, my body rejected it. I needed to go up to 50 mcg, but it felt like a real letdown. Twice I went through that and then knew my body was rejecting Tirosint. So, I went back to Synthroid, and I am fine."

For Hashimoto's disease "I started taking Tirosint (50 mg) when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's and had a TPO of 1200 and a TSH of 6.8. It has been a year, and my TSH bounces between 1.03-2. I feel just fine, and there have been no side effects, though it would have been cool to drop a couple of pounds! I was using Willow Pharmacy, but I understand they have been purchased by Highland. I hope they honor the coupon!"

For Underactive Thyroid "Had to increase my Tirosint this week to 50 mcg, and I feel so sick and lethargic. I will not take it tomorrow. I was on only 0.25 mcg for over 2 years, but my TSH suddenly started fluctuating, jumped up to 14, then 22. So I began 50 mcg this week, and my body does not like it. I need to try a different brand for sure. This is awful."

For Hashimoto's disease "I have been taking NP Thyroid, Synthroid, and Levothyroxine for years, yet my weight continued to increase without any signs of weight loss. Although my eyebrows did grow back after taking NP Thyroid, it was not covered by my insurance. When I saw a new endocrinologist, they informed me that my T3 levels were too high and recommended that I switch to Tirosint. Unfortunately, Tirosint is also not covered by my insurance and costs $50.00 a month. I have been taking 175 mg of Tirosint for three months now, but have not noticed any significant changes. The only thing that has become lighter is my wallet. I have gained an additional 5 pounds, making my total weight gain since my Hashimoto diagnosis over 60 pounds and counting. Needless to say, I am not impressed. I plan to ask my doctor if I can switch to regular Levothyroxine or Synthroid pills at a lower cost of $5.00 to see if there is any noticeable difference. If this expensive medication had made any difference, I would gladly pay the 1000x increase in price not covered by my insurance, but unfortunately, I have noticed no improvement."

I am getting extremely cold as it's wintertime, and my family is getting mad at me for having no energy. I'm going to switch back to Synthroid when I see my endo again."
