Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "My rosacea was mostly redness. I didn’t often have pimples. I also had a big problem with demodex, which made my skin feel thick and very rough. Soolantra was a godsend! For the first week, I applied it every other night & there was a bit of tingling, which I had been warned about. My rosacea seemed to get a little worse for the first few days, and after using it for about a week, my cheeks started peeling & that lasted for a few days. At the end of 3 weeks, I couldn’t believe how smooth my skin was! It hasn’t been this smooth in years! I have tried other topical medicines but nothing has ever worked this well! I apply it at night after cleansing & before applying my moisturizer. Sometimes there will be a brief burning or tingling sensation, but that only lasts for a few seconds - totally worth it for how clear & smooth my skin is!"

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "I started using Soolantra on the 22nd of March. The first 3 weeks were terrible: burning sensation, a huge rush all over my face, very dry skin, and lots of spots, and today my skin is so nice and soft. I will still use it for the next couple of months, but for all of you who have a similar experience, do not give up! This cream is a miracle, and I cannot recommend it enough. I have never had this baby skin in my entire life!!"

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "I am now on week 6 of Soolantra every night. I wanted to wait until now to give an accurate review. I finished a course of Roaccutane for acne in 2017 and afterwards suffered from easily reddened skin. After a series of illnesses, I developed rosacea. I tried a routine with azelaic acid, I tried cutting all actives, I switched to a low dose of tretinoin, but the severe redness continued. I started Soolantra as a last-ditch attempt to help. Week 1 was hideous. I mean the worst cystic acne type bumps I've had since pre-Roaccutane. Not only were they huge and painful, but every time I checked in the mirror, a new one came. If you feel tempted to try and pop these... think again. Instead of healing in a few days like an acne lesion, they spread in width and redness almost like a bug bite. My usual Duac spot treatments did nothing except burn. Then came the itching and burning of my skin in general. At week 3 to 4 came calmness. Only the odd tiny bump. Week 6, best skin I've had in months."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "Prescribed Soolantra by my dermatologist for rosacea. Day 1, my entire face became inflamed. Bright red with a burning feeling. Day 2, my entire face felt like it was on fire. Used ice to help cool my face. Day 3, my entire face swelled up. Face and jawline were still red with a burning feeling like a sunburn. Called my dermatologist about my symptoms. I was advised to discontinue use. Was told to use Hydrocortisone 1% twice a day for 3 days. Then call back to report. I also took some over-the-counter Benadryl. I feel better already. I had high hopes for Soolantra. I may have an allergy to it. Glad it works for some."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "I have had pretty bad rosacea all my life, which means redness and those small red acne scar marks. It was mainly all over my cheeks. I've tried so many different creams, and honestly, half of them I wasn't consistent with because I was convinced nothing was ever going to help my face. I was prescribed Soolantra to see if it could help combat my redness and the acne marks. After the first night I used it, my face was flushed red and burning. After a couple of days, I didn't recognize my skin. I had so many whiteheads, the texture was rough, and I had red dots everywhere. I was honestly freaking out because my skin never was that bad. But I decided to read the reviews, and I saw everyone saying that they had similar symptoms and to not give up, to stick by it because it does work. I somehow managed to stick to it and stay consistent, and when I tell you my skin never looked like this before, I mean it. Keep taking it and don’t give up! It is worth it!"

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "Here is my experience with Soolantra. Week 1 - 2: Burning, itching, tingling. Sometimes very intense. Week 3 - 4: Things got very bad during week three. I looked horrible. End of 4th week I started to notice some slight improvement. Weeks 5 - 6: Major improvement in skin texture, papules diminished, redness decreased. Week 7 - 8: Very frustrating. Good one day, bad the next. Towards the end of week 8, things began to clear again. Week 9 - 12: Continued improvement during the 3rd month with mostly good days. After 3 months, I stopped using it daily, and my skin has never looked this good. Redness has improved considerably but not 100%. Suggestion for those considering this medication is to start off using very little and stick with it. Cost for a 45-gram tube is $400 in Southern California. With my insurance, it was $200. Adding the manufacturer's coupon, it was $75. After 6 months, I just got my first refill. A little goes a long way. Good luck to all."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "I have been using Soolantra for 6 days now. I have read the reviews and I am trying to hang in there, but my outbreak is horrible. Don’t want to leave the house. I am experiencing burning, itching, and tingling. My cheeks have bumps all over them with pustules and extreme dryness. It is sore to touch. I am trying to suck it up, hoping that the reviews I have read are true and it will get better. Has anyone gone through this? I had mild rosacea, so this is horrible."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "At first, I thought Soolantra did not work, but that was only because I had another problem-due to my inhaler, which had given me a yeast infection on my face. I got worse and worse, then solved that problem and began Soolantra again. It actually seems to make my skin look better on contact. There is such a difference that I use it in the morning or just before I go out, and people have noticed. I don't have an extreme case of rosacea, but the redness, large pores, itching, and burning are responding to treatment. I only put it on the affected areas to conserve it, and I had some samples, so that is why I estimate only $2.00 a month. With insurance, a tube is $60."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "I love this medication! Previously, I was using Finacea for my rosacea, and it sometimes burned and dried out my face, had to be applied twice daily, and after seeing the results from Soolantra, wasn't really effective. Soolantra is once daily, creamy, and soaks in well, and has done an awesome job. I have gone through two tubes in about 7 months. At first, I used it daily, now it's about 3-4 times per week."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "This cream is really good. It's been 8 days now, and I can see the difference. On my third day of trying Soolantra, my face got really bad, worse than what it was. But when I read some of the reviews here, they said it gets worse before it gets better, and it's probably killing the mites, that's why it got really worse. So I stuck to it until now. It's day 8, and I'm so happy, less redness, 80% of the bumps and ugly burning are gone. I mixed hot water with a little bit of salt, added cold water to make it warm to wash my face before applying Soolantra morning and night."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "Not just good. Amazing! (So far). Only been using this for 4 days, but I can tell you this cream has already worked incredibly! I'm 31, and I had my first breakout of rosacea 5 months ago. It started with red pustules that started on my upper/inner cheeks, and then my cheeks started itching and burning, and the pustules spread to the entire surface of the cheeks down to my jaw. This drove me crazy for months, and I tried everything: removing foods I was eating, changing skin products, taking oregano oil, etc. No joke, after the FIRST application, the reduction in itching and volatility of my skin was noticeable. After 4 days, my skin continues to itch/sting less, and everything is continuing to fade. I don't know if this cream works for all subtypes of rosacea, BUT if your rosacea is predominantly itching and stinging, with red bumps and pustules, PLEASE try this cream."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "I have been suffering with severe rosacea for about 8 months now. I have used Soolantra cream in the past, and it had cleared up my skin beautifully! I had a bad breakout mainly on my forehead about a week ago, and I can honestly say Soolantra has gotten rid of about 80% of the little burning papules/pustules! I do still have quite a few spots, and sometimes I do still get the burning sensation, however, it is nothing like it was a week ago, where I was in so much pain I couldn't even leave the house! I look and feel much better. Good luck to anybody else trying this medication, I hope it helps you like it has with me and many others out there."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "I had my first experience with facial seborrheic dermatitis following a particularly stressful time last August 2017. The dermatologist tried varied creams and ketoconazole shampoo with no effect. I started on Soolantra in September, and after 2 weeks, I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like someone had thrown acid on my face. I ended up with a 2nd-degree burn over my face and swollen eyes. I immediately stopped the cream, and basically my face sloughed off in 2 days. My dermatologist agreed it was a severe drug reaction. Here it is November, and we are still trying to get this thing (my dermatitis) under control. I am not saying this is a bad drug, but the other comments make it seem like it is Ponds. Please be aware."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "I've been diagnosed with papulopustular rosacea in August 2021. My face was covered in red, inflamed pustules, and my skin was itching and burning. My dermatologist prescribed me Soolantra and said if there weren't changes after a month of using it, then she would add Doxycycline for 3 months. I was so desperate, so I didn't want to wait another month to see if there would be any results, so I took the antibiotic in parallel with Soolantra. After a month, my face cleared up by about 80%, and I continued with Soolantra and Doxy for 2 more months and then stopped both of them because my skin was fully cleared. After a month, my rosacea came back even worse. I started to apply Soolantra again without the Doxy this time, and now I'm in my 4th week since I started to use it again. So far, my skin is worse since the beginning, I don't know if it's the Demodex die-off or my skin is not reacting well to it, but I feel like Soolantra is not the cure for me. I will keep pushing with it though for a few weeks."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "Ok, so I have attempted to use Soolantra 3 times. Each time I use it, within a few hours the small few pimples I have (I’m on oral antibiotics to manage outbreaks) become irritated and burn/itch. In the past, I have stopped using the cream after a couple of days. This time, I’m on my 4th day, and I still feel a burn/itch sensation from the bumps. Is this normal? Should I push through??? It is clearly making it worse. Unlike a previous person, this cream cost me $60 a tube, 30g."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "Suffer from mild rosacea on my cheeks only. Soolantra caused my cheeks to majorly break out and get worse. Estimated 10x as bad. Stayed on 2 weeks as I was reading this website and people commenting on the purging. But it didn’t feel right. Very sore, red, burning like I was sunburnt and 50 spots on each side. Saw my specialist today and she said I’m having an allergic reaction to the cream. So I stopped. My point is only your specialist knows how you were before and if this is working for you. So if you’re going through what I’ve been through: i.e., 2 weeks of increased symptoms, I’d advise you see your specialist rather than hang around on this cream."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "I had high hopes for Soolantra. I have type 1 rosacea, but I was still hopeful it would help me because I also have ocular rosacea, which is caused by demodex. So I figured my rosacea is too. The first few weeks, my skin looked worse. But I'd read about demodex die-off, so I pushed through. Then, for a few days, my skin looked great. I thought I reached a breakthrough. But upon starting week 5, my skin started getting worse again. My face is blotchy, and it burns all day. I called my doctor, and she said it's supposed to get worse before it gets better, and that I need to stick to it for another month. She called in an antibiotic to take alongside Soolantra for the last month, but after further research, I'm not going to take it because I have Crohn's disease, and I don't want to have that flare up on me too. I'm going to give Soolantra one more month. I've read there can be several die-off phases. If Soolantra turns out to be a miracle cure after all, I'll happily update my review."

Ivermectin topical for Rosacea "I have been given everything under the sun for my skin, and as a sufferer of acne when young, I didn't expect to get pustule rosacea from 40 onwards. I'm now 60. The rosacea pills work, but side effects are so bad for me too. The cream I'm using, Soolantra, sparingly and Azclear medication. I can't advise anything on any of it apart from purging on Soolantra and burn and stinging. I'm going for laser. I've had enough."

I thought this was a bad reaction that my skin was having to this cream, but after reading the comments here, I felt better and thought I wouldn't stop using it and see if this sensation is going to go away in a few weeks."

For Rosacea "So I guess the jury is out on my opinion right now. I have used this for 11 nights - before I go to sleep and then wait for it to dry and put Vanicream lotion for sensitive skin on top just a little after dried. Burn for maybe under 5 minutes near my lips while it dries and then tingles and then stops. Do I see a bunch of huge new bumps and pimples like other people? I don’t think so. Do I think it’s been a miracle drug so far? No. BUT I don’t know if it’s not yet either. I do have a small breakout on my forehead, but you honestly couldn’t see it unless you got really close. They’re very, very small, but that might not be related, although I do not usually have an issue there, so it is a bit odd. Do I think they’ll get worse over time like other people who have used the drug and left reviews? I’m not sure yet. I will keep everyone updated and come back when I notice a change... hopefully good."
