"The first six months of using Gildess were unremarkable. It was effective in preventing pregnancy, did not worsen nor produce acne, and I did not experience any remarkable weight gain. It was like any other birth control. After my first six months, however, I experienced spotting, heavier bleeding, and random periods throughout the month. In one month, I experienced two periods. For the past few months, my periods started after two weeks of active pills."

"I had to stop taking Gildess when my insurance changed, but for a review: I took Gildess for over two years, I've never had any issues. Yes I gained some weight, then I lost it. Yes my acne fluctuated.. this relates to stress levels as well. Overall it did a great job keeping me child free and I had no issues with it at all. Fingers crossed my new BC is just as good."

"I switched to this pill because I switched pharmacies and the new one didn't have my usual pills. After starting this my cramps became intense, my periods became so heavy and my libido decreased significantly but I haven't gotten pregnant while using it. So I would say it's very effective but the side effects are not cool"

"2nd month on the pill, this is my 2nd review. I feel nauseous a lot. No super craving. Broke out about the same. It seems like it makes me feel super sad/anxious for about 24-48. I shouldn't start until @ sat still on last week of pills, I spotted Monday in morning, it stopped. Now its Wednesday and I have to use a pantie liner. I will report again next month."

"I have been on various birth controls for the past 15 years and this was my worst experience. I was off bc for 3 years due to trying to conceive, pregnancy, and then nursing. I wanted to start on the pill again after my daughter weaned. I have only taken it for one month and I can't remember any other pill having such extreme side effects. I immediately got a yeast infection, broke out worse than when I was a teenager, have been exhausted but unable to sleep at night, no sex drive, and extreme mood swings. It has been a horrible experience."

"So I've been taking this pill for 2 months and I'm torn. First off, I haven't gained any weight and I'm not pregnant which is good. The cons are my moods are heightened. I'm way more emotional and get annoyed/mad a lot easier and this started right away. My period lasted for a whole week last time and although it wasn't heavy I still had cramps. Also, when I'm on my period I get nauseous and I'm not sure if that's from the birth control or just me being on my period. My boobs have grown which is another pro, but my acne has actually gotten worse. If my acne doesn't clear up by the third month I think I'm going to switch because I really want clear skin... I had mild side effects- increase appetite, some cramps and mild nausea."

"Been on this birth control for about almost 2 years. At first yes I felt different but that's every birth control. It takes time to adjust to your body. Any doctor will tell you to wait 3 months or so and see how you feel before switching. Anyway, I feel fine now, my periods are regular and I don't have terrible cramps. My boobs grew and that's about it. Stress I've always had and anxiety I've always had, I don't think it's linked to birth control in anyway."

"I've been on this pill for about 6 months and the first 3 or 4 months I was using the 28 day pack. A couple months ago my pharmacy switched me to the 21 day pack and ever since I have been getting my period on the second week of pills. This "period" lasts up until I start my next pill pack. I suppose I can be thankful that I'm not pregnant but if you're considering taking this pill to help regulate your cycle like I did, definitely do another brand."

"I've been on this pill for 4 months and so has my sister. My sister loves it and has no problems with it. However for me, I have symptoms of PCOS so I don't get my period every month so I started taking this pill. I didn't get a single period while on this pill, just brown discharge for 2 weeks straight every month. It was annoying and my periods were more normal and better before I started taking this so that was pretty weird. Requested a new birth control and hopefully it works !"

"Gildess has been awesome for me. I've always had heavy periods that lasted at least 7-9 days. When I started Gildess my periods have become light-normal and only last 3-4 days. I get break outs every now and then like I always have so Gildess hasn't helped or made my acne worse. Overall I have no complaints."

"So I have been on gildess for exactly a year now and it is the first BC pill I have ever been on and it's pretty great the only side effects I have noticed but haven't really though to much about are that recently every little thing is starting to bother me, I get upset or sad for almost no real reason and I don't feel like myself most of the time which is sad I am usually a very happy calm person but I feel like I'm not like that anymore. Other than that I don't have any other side effects at all it's pretty great it regulated my period and I have no random spotting or pain of any kind so I don't recoment it as the best form of BC but it's not the worst one and works very well for preventing pregnancy."

"I'm 14 years old and I've been on it for 4 months and I hate it. I'm on it for regular periods since my blood flows too quickly and it has done nothing. I've been on my period for 4 months, light mostly but heavy sometimes. I also went on it for my acne but it did nothing. I gained 4 pounds and now I have stubborn belly fat. I also have huge stretch marks (idk if its related but they showed up when I took it). Also, I have no motivation anymore. Don't take this please!"

"Like every birth control, my body had to get adjusted to it. At first, I would have irregular periods: some months no period, and some months two periods. After awhile, I barely have periods now. I still have some moodiness on my "off pills," but I always have moodiness, around my period whether I am on or off birth control. With birth control, it just helps to schedule it, so I go on my "off pills" on a friday, so the worst emotional part can occur over the weekend and this helps me not to be emotional while I'm at work or school. By the time Monday comes, I have levelled off a lot. I haven't experienced acne breakouts from it, which is a bonus. Since it has iron in it, I have had my iron levels checked while on it, and they are always good."

"I have been on this pill for about 5 months now. I switched to this after having problems with depo, which caused me horrible migraines that actually put me in the hospital. Since I've started this pill, I've had nothing but problems with constant bleeding. The strength of the pill has been changed higher a few times. After sex, I bleed, going to the bathroom, I bleed. I absolutely hate it. I've also been very irritable, but mostly because I'm tired of bleeding. And I feel dizzy all the time, and feel out of body. I rather gain a ton of weight on the depo, and deal with migraines again, than deal with what I'm going through on gildess."

"As I had only started 6 days ago I expected this to be a more easy going time, read all the labels, making sure everything was alright. Durring most if not all of those 6 days I became very dreary, tired, and deadlike not wanting to do anything. The pill slightly helped my acne, but did not prevent new acne from coming. Durring the pill I experienced weird heat and then ice like needle feelings around my ovaries, but that was only for thr first 2 days. As I proceeded with the pill when I sat or walked, not while I was laying down I would experience this sharp pain around my heart, I was thinking it could be high blood pressure I checked it isnt, im worried it might be a blood clot so I need go check for now I am going off the pill."

"If I could rate this a zero I would! Ever since taking gildess I've been bleeding. It's been about 3 weeks now and not just spotting either... I'm miserable. My cramps are so bad and my acne is ridiculous I've never broken out this bad before."

"I started taking this pill two years ago and a few months after I started it I wanted out. I noticed I was gaining weight very fast and was breaking out with acne on my back. I tried everything for the weight gain figuring it might have been eating habits and the fact that I'm in my 20s now and my body is changing but nothing helped!! I gained about 20 pounds in the past 2 years and have finally had enough and made my gyno switch me to something else (she also insisted it was my eating habits and not the pill numerous times which is why I stayed on it for so long) my friend was also on the same pill for years and gained even more than I did."

"Honestly I had been really hesitant about starting this birth control based off the reviews it got but I've been on it for about 7 months now and seriously have no complaints! I think I experienced a little bit of nausea and fatigue the first month on it and some breakthrough bleeding up until the third month, but all those side effects have subsided and my skin has been super clear as well! My period usually lasts only about three days on this and is really light, and most important of all, I'm not pregnant!"

"I had been taking this medication for 1 year and I noticed decreased libido and fluttering veins which made me stop taking it. Also breast swelling but the most worrisome was the repeated daily fluttering of my veins. I could literally see my skin vibrating."

"I was given Gildesse to help control my ovarian cysts. BIG MISTAKE! I have gained wieght, feel depressed and tired and when I do have periods now they are horrible, painful, and really heavy. They will last indefinitely too. I have bled for over 30 days. I thought this was just my perimenopause but after reading everyone's reviews I felt I had the same symptoms as them and felt obligated to share."

"I've been on this birth control for 2 years now. Just recently, the pharmacy only had a generic brand of the pill and gave me that instead. I will definitely be switching back! I love the pill and it hasn't made me gain any weight. Also my acne cleared up really fast and now I have none! My breasts went up a size also"

"I was on gildess for 3 months, it was my first experience with hormonal birth control. For one thing I didn't get pregnant while taking it so it does its job! I did have some unpleasant side effects though. I had constipation/gas while I was on it along with some mood swings, although I can't be 100% sure that these things were actually caused/worsened by the pill. The pill DID cause nausea (mostly during the first month), swollen & sore breasts (mostly during the 3rd month), and a bit of acne. My periods were extremely light on this pill. During the first month I had cramps (usually very mild) every day, then a normal period 2 weeks into the pack, followed by spotting with mild cramps until I finished that pack."

"THE AMOUNT OF HAIR I LOST SCARED MY GRANNY. she would always tell me how much hair was i was losing was 10x more than she is losing and shes in her 80s!! ( im only 19) the pill does prevent pregnancy but tbh i can't wait to get off of it. i was on loesterin but my insurance gave it a high deductible so i switched. i should have just paid the 210 and kept Loesterin and been perfectly fine right now. my hair loss and severe dandruff ( i had dandruff before but like it got soooo bad ) and my acne was enough to beg my gyno to switch me to something else. I'm not even gonna bother finishing the months pack, I'd rather get my period than lose my hair."

"I was on Demulin and Zovia from the first time I got my period until three months ago, I'm 35, so literally 20 years. I LOVED that pill. No side effects and a very light period like clockwork down to the hour. After turning 35 my doctor said I needed a low estrogen pill and she switched me to Gildess. First month I had tender breasts, which never happened before, cramping, and my period lasted over a week. Second month I started getting nauseous every day, bad cramps, but only got my period for an hour. Four days ago I started my third month and I've been so sick. Debilitating cramps, severe nausea and overall feel like death. The doctor told me today to stop the pill right away. I've never in my 35 years of life felt this sick from BC."
