"I've been on this for almost 2 years now. I don't get a regular period. I get one every few months, and it's still just spotting, which can get scary. I do get very emotional once a month, though, worse than I ever have before, and during that time, I'm not really hungry and have constant migraines."

"After reading these reviews, I finally understand all the symptoms I've experienced over the past year and a half. I've had chronic yeast infections and dryness, mood swings to where I am nowhere near myself, and I am beginning to get random/extra periods while in the middle of my packet. My gynecologist has never suggested the link between BC and my symptoms, but I am definitely calling the office tomorrow and switching my birth control immediately."

"Thank you, everyone, for absolutely terrifying me. I wanted to give birth control a try to be safe, and now I probably never will. I was prescribed this. I have great skin, am at my goal weight after months of losing weight, I'm always a happy person, have a high sex drive, and have very regular periods. Now I don't want to take this and ruin my life. Why is birth control so bad for you?"

"I'm 32 and have been taking Gildess for 3 months. My period has been light, although my acne spikes a little mid-cycle. My breasts are sore about half the time (which is typical for me). I otherwise really like this pill and don't feel any different than when I'm not taking birth control."

"Oh, eff this pill. First, my Dr. put me on Provera to do a medicinal D&C vs. a surgical one. That was a mess. So we discussed BC pills instead because that should have a more standard response. Well, my body gave me two giant middle fingers. I've been bleeding for 19 days. I'm not just talking spotting. I use the Diva Cup, I'm shedding 1/4 oz - 1/2 oz every day. Pretty sure I'm anemic at this point. Oh, and my acne is atrocious."

"I have been on this pill for about 2 years now, and it gets worse and worse each month. I have experienced horrible nausea, headaches, mood swings, and depression. I constantly have bleeding throughout the month, and my period never comes when I'm supposed to have it. It is almost as irregular and heavy as it was when I didn't take the pill. I get extremely bad cramps and bloating as well. Currently in the process of trying to switch to a new pill. Very angry."

"Express Scripts switched this one in place of my Microgestin FE 1.5/30. This has been the worst experience ever. I missed taking a pill by 2 hours and I had already begun breakthrough bleeding and severe cramping. To where I had to leave the office at work and just lean over and hold my stomach. The absolute worst part is the depression. I'm crying about everything and getting upset with my boyfriend over nothing. I've only been taking this for two weeks and it's been a hellstorm. I do not recommend this brand."

"This is the worst birth control I have ever been on! I am 31 years old and recently had the Nexplanon removed. BIG MISTAKE!!! I never write reviews, but this birth control is the DEVIL!! While on the Nexplanon, I never had cramps, bloating, breast tenderness, or horrible mood swings. Gildess, I have all these symptoms plus paranoia and depression. I have been taking these pills for a month and a half and never have felt more insecure in my life. The weight gain is an issue as well, I gained 12 pounds within the 1st month. I realized that this birth control was making me feel crazy, anxious, and not myself, so I made an appointment for my OBGYN for a better option. I can't wait to throw these pills down the drain. Hope this is helpful."

"I was on the Depo shot for 6 years, no periods, no weight gain, all great. I then had to be taken off, so I got the Mirena, still no periods but I was in constant pain, so I had it taken out and started this pill about a month and a half ago. I've been extremely moody and irritable. My periods have been regular so far. I have noticed I'm starting to gain weight and bloat, and it doesn't seem to be related to the period. I feel like a balloon. I've also been experiencing a lot of headaches and body/joint pain over the last couple of weeks. I'm pretty miserable and will be switching to something else as soon as I can."

"I hate this birth control. First, my periods went away entirely, which I didn't want. I also have absolutely no sex drive, which has caused some problems between the BF. I have also started noticing sharp pains in my uterus since beginning this medication. I've gained 20 pounds, I feel like the cravings are out of control. This is the worst birth control I have ever taken."

"Horrible pill. Went on it after getting my IUD taken out (it was giving me a period every time my husband and I had sex), and the doctor told me it would help me gain an appetite. Instead, in the past 3.5 months, I've gotten sick 5 times, had one missed period, and the worst period of my life after as a 'catch up' one. I can't take the tiredness, heavy body, and constant upset tummy anymore."

"I have been on a lot of birth control pills, but this is the worst birth control I've taken to date. I had to switch because I have an estrogen intolerance, so I was getting severe migraines with regular pills. Although this pill has helped with that, I have found myself completely unable to orgasm when I have sex with my fiancé (something that used to be easy). I have had terrible changes with my sleeping patterns, and I have overall felt like my body and mind are detached from each other. The benefits of not having migraines and overall lighter periods do NOT outweigh the negatives of this pill."

"I definitely don't recommend this pill if you already have anxiety. It made my anxiety attacks much worse. Plus, it gave me horrible acne, and I've never struggled with acne. Everyone reacts differently to BC, but just be aware when you decide to go with this one."

"I'm on the first month of this pill and have had NO bleeding but all the cramping and gas. The symptoms only affect my mood so far, no nausea. The mood swings are bad enough, and since there is no bleeding, I was super paranoid I had somehow gotten pregnant, so I took a test and it came up negative twice. I have also gotten some kind of yeast or bacterial infection... lovely. I'm not sure when I will get my period, but so far it has been working okay."

"RUN THE OTHER WAY! I started on Gildess because the mail-order pharmacy chose it as a substitute for my normal brand. I've been on it for 2 months, and I'm up 9 pounds so far despite doing the 21-day fix over the past month. Called my gyno, and she asked me to come in immediately. Rapid weight gain like that is apparently not good. Other unpleasant side effects seem to be alternating between rage and depression, acne on my face, neck, and chest (oh baby!), zero libido, long, heavy periods with a decent amount of cramping, and migraines. Having another kid wouldn't be as bad as another month on this pill."

"Does a good job at preventing pregnancy... But! Gained a little weight and I cry every single day! Makes me so emotional. Was on for 4 months, decided I needed a new one. Also gave me some cramps and breast tenderness the first month."

"I just finished my first pack two days ago, and I will not be taking it again. In the beginning, I was fine. There were no symptoms, and I was feeling good. Now that it's been a month, I can tell you I'm in a place I don't recognize. Every little thing my boyfriend does, I get upset over, I'm constantly crying and paranoid, never want to get out of bed, and I'm depressed. This is miserable, and I'm hoping that within the next few days, I'll feel normal again after being off of this."

"This is my second month on it. I switched from Junel to this since the pharmacy I go to doesn't carry Junel any longer. I have had no negative side effects and no pregnancy. I was nervous at first because everyone is so negative about it. But hey, guess what? Everyone's body is different and will experience different side effects. So if this is a new BC for you, give it a chance."

"This drug is terrible. I was actually prescribed Junel (which I have taken previously with no problems), but my pharmacy doesn't carry that brand anymore, so they gave me Gildess instead. It's the same thing, right? WRONG. I've been on Gildess for 2.5 weeks now, and I have never felt so consistently terrible in my entire life. I take the pill at night on a full stomach. I wake up in the morning with moderate nausea that lasts until well after lunchtime. I have headaches and abdominal cramping and gas... oh, the gas. By mid-afternoon, my stomach is so full of air I look pregnant. I'm anxious, irritable, and on-edge all the time. It's literally the worst."

"Beware of this birth control. At first, I started off with the 1.5 Gildess Fe, and it was beautiful, no breakouts or anything. Since I did well with that, my doctor upgraded me to Gildess 1/20, and for the past 3 months (I started it in March). I have been experiencing the worst side effects, even with me not missing any pill and taking them at the right time. I feel like I'm pregnant, and I'm not. It's to the point where I had taken 3 pregnancy tests, and they came out negative, and I am going to take another test since this medication is really making me think that, and I just want to be sure. Talk to your doctor to see what birth control is the best for your body hormones."

"I hated this birth control due to the lack of libido, vaginal dryness (during sex), and persistent yeast infections. The pill also caused me to feel slightly depressed. I gave it 2 stars because it did make my skin look amazing! I used the pill for six months, and after six months with yeast infections, I got off of it. I could not have sex with a yeast infection, so the pill became essentially useless. All side effects ceased as soon as I stopped this pill."

"Let me say since starting this birth control I haven't had a period for 6 years, a little spotting here or there, but nothing I was concerned about. I really liked it up until now. This spring I have had a rash from the side of my temples, behind my ears, to around my throat. I have breast and nipple tenderness, which hurts badly. I have headaches more than usual. When my rash first happened, I thought it was dermatitis, so I went to the dermatologist, who prescribed me a higher dosage of hydrocortisone to try. Let's say it calmed it down but never went away. So I did a little more research on the web and found out it could be a hormone imbalance from the birth control, which totally made sense, I looked up the side effects, and it described me."

"So the pro is, it's prevented pregnancy and made me go up a cup size. Oh, and my acne has cleared up. Cons: the first month went well. I'm on month 3 of taking it, and let me tell you... I've been bleeding/spotting for about 34 days now. It's annoying. And when I start spotting heavily, I get severe cramping. It's interfered with my sex life and moods. I do get mood swings, but I'm thinking it's because I am so tired of bleeding. I've gained about 5 pounds, which isn't too bad for switching birth control."

"I got switched to Gildess when they started shipping it to me. Ever since I've gone from having a period for 3 days to hardly having one at all. I will spot a little once a month. I've also gained a lot of weight. But I'm not positive it was all due to the pill or not. I have noticed low sex drive, but I figured that just happened after getting married. Lol."

"I have never written a review in my 21 years of life, but I feel I should share my experience. About a little over a month ago, I got on this pill. Not to brag, but I have a decent, happy life. The first couple of days, I noticed no symptoms and was so happy. Out of nowhere, I started waking up with migraines and breaking out. I figured, okay, no big deal. I didn't connect it with the pill. Next thing you know, I get upset and mad about literally EVERYTHING: work, family, boyfriend. My life was going downhill every day, with depressing thoughts. Finally, my boyfriend and I put it together and figured out it was the birth control. I IMMEDIATELY stopped, and thank God I am feeling better as the days go by. Not to mention, everyday spotting! NOT WORTH IT."
